Wow. Crazy because I, legit, was thinking about playing FFXIV yesterday.

One of the most legit MMO RPG games left out there

If I start it, it would be my first time. The game has been on my mind back and forth. I got it for the PS4.

I play on ps4 in Odin. look for Sanctum they are hardtries raiders if you join in Odin.

It's cross platform and you can easily change servers anytime

You can call them crazy in another way. They are very serious and they hunt first kills globally for records

Don't worry they don't push anyone. FFXIV is 80% full of casual players who RP or ERP 24/7 I think you gonna like it after you hit 50+
Worry not about the jobs (claases) because you can change anytime. But for your best starting experience i would rec White Mage Conjurer

Black Mage and White Mage are my main. Sometimes i like to Dps like Exploooooosion. And other times i like the chill gameplay ans the support role

I'm thinking about trying this game. I played FF 11 way back on the PS2. It was fun, but impossible to solo after lvl 10. Is this one any better in that respect?

ffxiv is not a single player game. People actually do solo runs but not the endgame content. From the very beginning the game is putting you in dungeons with other people. Each one of you have a specific role. For normal dungeons the team goes like 2 dps 1 tank and 1 support. There is raids that take 24 people. If you are looking for a single player game ffxiv is not the game for you. But legitimately it's the best mmo rpg game out there and it's holding strong 11 and maybe more years now.

I'm not necessarily looking for a single player game, but I do like the option to just go kill a few monsters on my own. it does sound intriguing. what do you play on, co sole or PC?

I do game on ps4 but likely ffxiv is cross platform. You can definitely kill monsters solo in the open world and challenging ones. The story is very strong if you like the reading of course.

I work on my pc most of the times tho. Rendering stuff takes time except if you have 3-4k pc

So what do you recommend as a starting class? Take into account I am not new to Final Fantasy or MMO's.

Definitely Conjurer and why so ?
Because you gonna have the best experience with it. Fast queue no waiting as you progress the story. Fast growth without putting too much effort. You can change anytime later on without losing anything.

Legitimately the best job to start the game and enjoy yourself. Final Fantasy XIV is very balanced. Everything have consequences. Something gives much ? It's gonna pay with another way like positioning. Very serious game no p2w

Thanks for the advice. I wouldn't have tried that class and would have went with what I know best. Probably Black mage or something like that. I use to run a BM in FF 11.

I am going to download this tonight and try it out. Did you ever play 11? I wonder if it's this game is similar.

Black mage in 14 is very easy job but super hard to master. Everything depends on how good you know the boss/raid/dungeon so you can position yourself on the right spot. Plus most people don't like them because everyone is bad at it (almost everyone)
If you played overwatch is like picking Widow and not landing a single hit

I can see how that would be frustrating. sounds like a class for a more experienced player. I mighy try it as I get some play time in.
