[FF7R] Battle Intel Report lists and get Summon Bahamut

Hey, are you enjoying FF7R?

There are several things that you can do post-ending or near the ending.

Summon Bahamut is one of those.

But before summon Bahamut, we need to learn about Battle Intel Report system.

This is something like an Achievement system of World of Warcraft, but easier. Receive quests from Chadley in town. He’ll give you 4 quests at once.

Let’s check what do they have.

1. Monster Bio Pt.1 (Assess 2 enemy types)
- This is the default.

Once you clear No.1, Chadley will give you 3 more lists.

2. Magic Elements Pt.1 (Hit enemies vulnerable to fire, ice or lightning using the appropriate magic (Number of attacks: 1 for each element)

3. The Stagger Effect Pt.1 (Use unique abilities on staggered enemies and charge the ATB gauge 10 times)
- This is a little confusing. To clear this, gain ATB gauge from staggered enemies. Just keep attacks on staggered enemies and gain 1 ATB gauge and it will be counted as 1. If your ATB gauge is already full, use some abilities to spend it and gain from the attacks. Repeat this 10 times.

4. The Stagger Effect Pt.2 (Stagger 15 enemy types)

Once you clear No.1 to 4 and entered Chapter 8, Chadley will give you No.5 to 9.

5. Combat Simulation: Shiva (Defeat Shiva)
- If you defeat Shiva, you can summon Shiva

6. Monster Bio Pt.2 (Assess 10 enemy types)

7. Magic Elements Pt.2 (Exploit weaknesses of 15 enemy types)

8. The Manipulation Technique (Defeat 2 or more enemies with a single attack)

9. Monster Variants Pt.1 (Defeat monsters of three unique varieties)

If you clear No.1 to 9, you can challenge to Fat Chocobo via VR mission.

10. Combat Simulation: Fat Chocobo (Defeat Fat Chocobo)
- If you defeat Fat Chocobo, you can summon Fat Chocobo. It requires 2 ATB to summon.

Once you clear No.1 to 10 and entered Chapter 14, Chadley will give you No. 11 to 14 and 16.

11. Monster Bio Pt.3 (Assess 20 enemy types)

12. The Stagger Effect Pt.3 (Increase stagger damage bonus to 200%)
- This is a little hard. The basic stagger damage bonus is 160%, so you need to boost 40% more. The easiest way to do this is Tifa.

During Chapter 16, in Shinra Building after Tifa falls from Chandelier, you can obtain Tifa’s weapon Purple Pain. Its ability True Strike boosts stagger damage bonus if you use it to staggered enemies. Use Unbridled Strength twice just before the enemies get staggered and gain ATB gauge again.

Once enemies get staggered, spam True Strike and her empowered unique ability. If you successfully did this, you would clear it.

13. Refocus Analysis (Trigger Refocus two times)

14. The Stagger Effect Pt.4 (Stagger 40 enemy types)

If you clear No.1 to 14, you can challenge to Leviathan via VR mission

15. Combat Simulation: Leviathan
- If you defeat Leviathan, you can summon Leviathan. It requires 2 ATB to summon.

16. Monster Bio Pt.4 (Assess 30 enemy types)

If you clear No.1 to 16, Chadley will give you No.17 to 19. They are quite different.

17. Weapon Abilities (Acquire 16 or more weapon abilities)
- Weapons that you equip earn proficiency everytime you use its own ability. Once a weapon is fully proficient, the ability unlocked permanently, whether the weapon is equipped or not.

18. MP Consumption (Master all 12 types of Magic Materia)
- Magic Materia means green colored Materia. Probably you would master most of them, but I bet you did not master Revival Materia. It requires 5,000 AP to master, but most of the players include me used consumable items to revive characters. Many players may not have felt the need for this Materia. After Ending, you’ll get 3 times more AP so it will take still long, but faster than before. Add AP Up Materia on the same link as Revival Materia to get AP faster.

19. Monster Variants Pt.2 (Defeat monsters of 10 unique varieties)

If you cleared all of these, the last Battle Intel Report, Combat Simulation: Bahamut unlocks.

20. Combat Simulation: Bahamut (Defeat Bahamut)
- If you defeat Bahamut, you can summon Bahamut. It requires 2 ATB to summon.
However, Bahamut is really, really strong. Get more skill books in Hard mode and upgrade your Weapons & Materias. Cloud’s weapon ability Counterstance is very useful here. Some of Bahamut’s attack even ignores Counterstance so you need to practice.

Bahamut starts countdown during the battle, starts from 5. You can interrupt the countdown with huge damage. When the countdown goes to 0, Bahamut casts Mega Flare and deals over 8,000 damage to all characters, which means almost game over and quest fail.

There are more contents but yet, I’m still trying to beat it. They are so hard. I’ll introduce about them when I clear them :(

Final Fantasy 7 Remake: The Best Hard Mode Loadouts For Every Character

After completing the story in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you’ll unlock Hard Mode. It lives up to the name, because Hard Mode locks your party out of items, auto-regeneration, and bench healing. That puts your MP at a premium — and there’s only one MP-Absorption Materia in the game. You’ll have to wisely use your MP to survive every tough encounter, and you’ll never have Phoenix Down or Ether to fall back on.

It’s tough, so you’ll have to completely change your gameplay style to survive. HP Up and MP Up Materia are suddenly incredibly important, and the more HP Up you can equip onto your main characters, the better. Chakra and Prayer are suddenly your most important powers — and you’ll have to very carefully manage your elemental powers.

[FF7R] Recommended Materia for Hard Mode

Hey, are you enjoying FF7R?

I guess some of you already have been entered Hard Mode.

There are so many penalties in Hard Mode.

1) Monsters are getting stronger, some of them have new patterns (For example, Scorpion Sentinel in Chapter 1 shoots Tail Laser twice / Hell House in Chapter 9 summons Cutter & Sweeper on Phase 3)
2) Items are blocked
3) You cannot regenerate MP via taking rest on a bench

As a reward, you can get many skill books only in Hard Mode and Battle Simulator gives you extra rewards as well.

Disable MP regeneration is so critical for players. You cannot spam Cure spell whenever you want because MP will never regenerate until the end of each chapter.

So some of Materia that you’ve used in Normal Mode should be changed to others for Hard Mode.

Let me introduce the recommended Materia for Hard Mode.

1) ATB Boost - Command
- Press L1 + R1 to activate and It will double your current ATB gauge. If you equip this with First Strike, then you’ll have 2 ATB gauge immediately at the start of the battle.

2) Chakra - Command
- One of the most important Materia in Hard Mode. Since you cannot regenerate MP and use Cure whenever you want, you have to find other ways to recover your HP.

Chakra’s amount restored is relative to damage received, and more is restored the lower your HP. It also cures poison status.

This Materia is perfect for Barret, who has the highest HP. If you triggered Lifesaver, he’ll lose a lot of HP so recover the damage with Chakra. Give this Materia at least 2 of your party members. Aerith has the lowest HP so it doesn’t fit for her.

3) Prayer - Command
- Also one of the most important Materia. It consumes 2 ATB gauge, and heals you and your party members’ HP.

A perfect alternative option to Healing-Magnify. However, it requires 2 ATB gauge so you need to give this Materia who can gain the gauge fast.

Me, I gave this to Cloud and Tifa.

4) First Strike - Complete
- Use magic or abilities fast is very important in Hard Mode because of enemies’ strong attack.

First Strike boosts the equipped character’s ATB when you start battles. If you have Lv.3 First Strike, it will boost 1 ATB gauge immediately. Use Cloud’s Triple Slash or enemies’ weak type of magic against them.

5) ATB Assist - Complete
- Slightly increases the party's ATB gauge when repeating command 2 times.

I would say this Materia is only for Tifa. Tifa is the one who gains ATB gauge most fast and uses abilities most often as well. She needs to gain 2 stacks of Unbridled Strength ability and when the enemy gets staggered, she also needs to spam True Strike to increase Stagger Damage Bonus. She’s a perfect character to trigger ATB Assist. Once she bursts her abilities, the other 2 characters will have ATB gauge from ATB Assist. Spam their abilities as well and kill the enemies.

6) ATB Stagger - Complete
- Increases ATB when staggering an enemy. With the same reason above, it also fits perfectly to Tifa. More like perfect for ATB Assist.

Once enemies get staggered, ATB Stagger will increase Tifa’s ATB. Tifa can spam True Strike twice easily. 2 times of True Strike will trigger ATB Assist and your party members will gain ATB. Then Spam Tifa’s empowered unique command (Rise and Fall > Omnistrike > Whirling Uppercut) and increase Stagger Damage Bonus more. This combo will gain a lot of ATB gauge again, then she can use True Strike more.

While Tifa increasing Stagger Damage Bonus, use other party member’s strongest ability to deal more damage.

7) Steadfast Block - Complete
- Take less damage + ATB boost when guarding.

Equip this Materia to all of your members. Guard is very important in Hard Mode. If you successfully guard the attacks, you’ll gain a lot of ATB gauge as well.

8) HP & MP & Magic & Luck Up - Complete
- Quite simple, but effective Materia.

HP Up is the most important for survivability. MP Up for more Cure spells without hesitation. Magic & Luck for more damage.

These Materia require 10,000 total AP to reach the max level so it will take a long time.

9) Revival - Magic
- This is the only way to revive your fainted party member during the battle since you cannot use items. It’s okay with only level 1 to save MP, but you need to level up this Materia at least once for Battle Inter Report No.18. It requires 5,000 AP so keep equip this during the story mode.

10) Fire, Lightning, Wind, Ice - Magic
- Hit enemies’ weaknesses are very important. Especially Fire and Lightning has higher priority.

11) Element, Magnify - Support
- All support Materias are important, but these 2 are extra important.

I strongly recommend you to level up Element at least Lv.2 or higher, Magnify Lv.3

Equip Element Materia to your armor, link with Fire or Lightning. It will negate (Lv.2) or absorb (Lv.3) that type of damage. This is so sweet for survivability in Hard Mode.

Magnify, mostly link with Healing.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Limit Break Guide: How To Unlock More Limit Breaks For Your Party

In Final Fantasy 7 Remake, you'll discover early on that some of the most powerful attacks your party can perform are Limit Breaks. You can unleash these special techniques after your Limit Break gauge fills up from taking enough damage or frequently staggering enemies. Each party member starts with a single Limit Break to lay down devastating damage with, but it's possible to get more! Below, we breakdown how to get more Limit Breaks.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Character Strategies

The early contender for game of the year released this past week in the form of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and right now it sits at the top of my go to games. The story is engrossing and expands upon the original in ways that make sense and seem like they could be leading to not only the subsequent titles to come, but maybe a Final Fantasy 7 full on sequel at some point. In addition to this, the combat system; which was initially much maligned during its’ reveal, has shown a ton of depth in my opinion and various ways to utilize each character’s strengths.

You can button mash if you’d like, this game isn’t particularly hard, but if you want to efficiently take down enemy mobs and ultimately the bosses, you’re gonna need some thought behind those mashes. The key system at play here is the stagger system, and Cloud happens to be the go to character in most cases to trigger this system. When enemies take enough damage to their weak point, they enter a staggered state where you can deal enormous amounts of damage before they can recover, but how do you know the enemy weak points? Well, if you’ve talked to Chadley (The kid that makes you new Materia aka your best friend) , he will provide you with an assess spell. Given the limited amount of Materia you start with, this spell is a pain in the ass to have to equip, but trust me when I say it’s useful. By using assess, you get a rundown of the enemy weaknesses, what items it drops, what items it has to steal as well as a breakdown on how to approach it. Let’s take a look at the four stars of the show and how they fit into this system.
Cloud:

The defacto main character here, Cloud is every bit the bad ass in this combat system as he was in the original. I’m going to go over the basic set of skills that get unlocked without spoiling what’s the come after and give you an idea of how to best utilize him right out of the gate. So first off we have the basic abilities Braver and Focused thrust, with Triple slash to be unlocked shortly into the story. Right away, use assess to see what you’re up against. If you’re going against ground based opponents, start off rushing in and get your guard up. You’re going to want to see what type of attacks an enemy is capable of throwing so you can guard or parry effectively. If they’re going for magic, stay in operator mode. If they go melee? Switch immediately to punisher mode at the start of the battle and wait for the parry opportunity. Once a parry works, unleash everything you’ve got with strong attacks until you’ve got two full bars of ATB to use. From here, my go to is a focused thrust followed by a triple slash. As cool as Braver looks, it’s tough to land unless the enemy is right in front of you and with focused thrust and triple slash, you get an added homing effect that zips you right towards enemies. Focused thrust in particular is particularly effective in driving up stagger so lead off with that. With any luck and depending on the enemy type, this should bring the enemy close to staggering and as soon as stagger hits use triple slash to lay into them. For certain bosses, this method works as well, the difference is the stagger meter for bosses is far beyond the one for normal enemies, so a bit of rinse and repeat is definitely needed to if you’re looking to play mostly as Cloud. Some of the later techniques definitely change things up and add a healthy variety of attacks to choose from, but no matter what you equip, always identify which causes the most stagger when playing as Cloud.

Barret:

Barret tends to be maybe the most important character in the early hours of the game because of his ability to deal damage at such an insane pace. Barret has the overcharge mechanic which cleverly allows you to unleash and rapid succession of powerful blasts if charged enough and this is usually on par with the damage output from his abilities. This is absolutely key because it can effectively work as giving Barret three ATB bars when the normal two are filled. I start up each fight by immediately charging up, as the normal machine gun fire from Barret is really only effective on weaker long range opponents. The idea is to mix up your Cloud and Barret usage so that you’re consistently laying into enemies with Cloud while you pepper them with overcharge shots and then Focused shots from Barret as well. The other big benefit to Barret is his Steelskin technique. If you choose to bolster Barret’s defense early on, his Steelskin technique turns him into a walking tanks. Reducing the damage taken by a ton, this will let you charge up without fear of being killed and getting clear shots on most enemies instead of having to look for cover to shoot from like you usually would. Barret works effectively as a damage sponge with his Lifesaver technique as well, which lets him take damage directed at any party members. With my playstyle, Cloud is constantly on the front lines getting lit up like a Christmas tree so having Barret step in and take some of the punishment is always welcome.

Tifa:

Tifa is one of the more unique characters to control here. She starts as kind of a paper solider, dealing plenty of damage while getting knocked out constantly because of her lower defense and HP. With a little bit of upgrading and strategic playing though, Tifa becomes an absolute beast on the battlefield. Her techniques require you to charge to transform her basic attacks into more powerful ones. They also revolve around using certain buffs to increase her damage output in short bursts. Think of Tifa like boxer, you can’t just rush in and throw 100 punches because that’s a quick way to get destroyed. Instead, start slow, charging your attacks to the higher tiers and then use Focused strike to amplify the attack power and go in. I’ve found Omnistrike to be the best at causing stagger to an enemy and combining this with the damage output gained from Focused Strike, enemies quickly go down when these two are used together. Always remember to keep an eye on Tifa’s HP though, unless you’ve focused on building her defense, she goes down very fast and you need to keep your guard up to prevent that.
Aerith:

Most games don’t make the healing support character much fun to play as. The except is here as Aerith comes equipped with her fair share of offensive and support spells that allow her to hold her own. Arcane ward is a great way to start off a tough fight as it doubles the use of whatever spell is being used. Are you fighting Shiva in the simulation battle? Arcane Ward on Cloud with Fira equipped can make short work of her. This ability comes in handy when you start to figure out which weaknesses each enemy has. I tend to keep her at long range stacked with curative abilities for her Materia, but the one ability I always keep on her is Sorcerous Storm. Final Fantasy 7 Remake tends to have far more respect for Aerith as a damage dealer than the original game had, and Sorcerous Storm is a great example of that. As a long range combatant, Aerith tends to be in the back of battles and sometimes enemy mobs will go for her. If that happens, the Sorcerous Storm unleashes a blast that destroys whoever is close to her, effectively giving her space to operate again. Ray of Judgement is the other main attack you should always have equipped on her as it’s the main attack that gives her some serious staggering ability. I tend to love switching from character to character and this is a sequence I’ve found to be very effect- Cloud- Punisher mode attacks followed by Focused Thrust>Barret Overcharge shot followed by Focused Shot >Tifa Focused Strike and Omnistrke> Aerith Sorcerous Storm and Ray of Judgement.

Ultimately, the combat system can go many different ways and so far tons of interesting strategies have been detailed. I’d love to hear how you’re fairing so far with the combat system and what unique playstyles you’ve come up with. Let’s talk about it in the comments below.

[FF7R] Materia lists and effect - Independent

Hey, are you enjoying FF7R?

There are so many Materia in FF7R, but we can pick up only some of them for battles.

Let’s see what Materia do they have and what’s the recommended Materia.

- Independent -
Independent Materia is purple. They stand apart from any other, and have generally unique functions that don’t fit into any other category. Typically these boost your stats or add automatic, passive buffs to your attacks or other battle maneuvers.

1. HP Up, MP Up, Magic Up, Luck Up
- These 4 Materia increases each HP, MP, Magic, Luck up to 50% depends on the level. The maximum bonus state is 100%.

They are not so important in Normal Mode. However, in Hard Mode, especially HP & MP Up is getting so important due to enemies’ strong attacks. They require total 10,000 AP to maximize its level so always put them on your weapon or armor to level up.

2. EXP Up, Gil Up
- They double the EXP or Gil you earn. But you’ll reach the max level (50) very easily in the post-end game, and Gil will not cause any problem. No need to put them on your weapon or armor.

3. Deadly Dodge
- Attack command will do an area-of-effect attack and damage immediately after dodging. This would be useful early in the game, but getting unnecessary in the late game.

4. Parry
- Guards against enemy attacks and allows you to quickly unleash your next move. You need to press R1 + X button to trigger this.

5. First Strike
- Increases the ATB gauge at the start of battle.

This Materia is very important in certain situations, especially in Hard Mode like against Bahamut.

6. Auto-Cure
- Casts Cure on severely injured allies up to a set number of times

Give this Materia to the character that you don’t usually manually control and have enough MP.

7. Item Master
- Increases the effectiveness of items used in battle.

You cannot use items in Hard Mode so it’s worthless in Hard Mode

8. ATB Assist
- Small ATB increase for ally when repeating command 2 times.

9. ATB Stagger
- Increases ATB when staggering an enemy

10. Provoke
- Automatically use Provoke to temporarily draw the enemy’s attention (Taunt) when teammates are severely injured.

This Materia fits Barret very well.

11. Steadfast Block
- Further decreases damage and fills the ATB Gauge when guarding.

This Materia is one of the most important Materia in Hard Mode. More like, you ‘should’ add this Materia to everyone. You cannot take as much damage as Normal Mode so Guard is not optional.

ATB gauge increases really fast when you’re on guard so always look carefully your enemies and guard at the right time.

12. Skill Master
- Slightly fills the ATB gauge when multiple ATB commands are performed.

We don’t use that many types of ATB commands in a single battle. Not so necessary.

13. Refocus
- Allows you to use the Refocus limit break, which turns your ATB bar into a 3-part bar.

Only Aerith have this Materia at the first time, but if you clear Shinra Combat Simulation in Chapter 17, you can have 2 more.

You need to activate Refocus at least twice to complete Battle Intel Report No.13.

Materia lists and effect - Command

Hey, are you enjoying FF7R?

There are so many Materia in FF7R, but we can pick up only some of them for battles.

Let’s see what Materia do they have and what’s the recommended Materia.

- Command -
Command Materia is yellow and it adds new commands to your abilities list that can be used in battle. These commands only cost ATB, not MP. Thus, many of them are getting so important in Hard Mode.

1. Chakra
- Allows you to restore your own HP and cure poison. The amount restored is relative to damage received, and more is restored the lower your HP.

This one of the most important Materia in Hard Mode. Enemies’ attacks are getting so strong, but since you cannot regenerate MP, Chakra will be one of the main healing commands.

2. Assess
- Allows you to use Assess to discover information on enemies, including their weaknesses.

You must assess enemies when you first met. It will show their weaknesses and tip for slay them. Some enemies are really hard to meet (For example, Malboro or Ifrit) so don’t forget to assess them.

3. Prayer
- Allows you to restore the party’s HP with Pray, which consumes 2 ATB

You can only have maximum 2 Prayer Materia in the game. Prayer is also one of the most important Materia in Hard Mode. Chakra only heals yourself and it will not be effective when your HP is almost full, but Prayer heals everyone. Always keep one of your party members’ ATB for Pray Command.

4. Steal
- Allows you to use Steal to take items or Gil from enemies.

Not much important Materia, but sometimes it’s getting important. For example, Eligor, Chapter 11 boss has Bladed Staff (Aerith’s weapon). This weapon can only be obtained from Eligor via Steal.

Also, some bosses have an accessory that can be stolen so try to steal them when you meet them. You can figure it out if they have items to steal via Assess command.

Steal’s success rate depends on Luck state.

5. ATB Boost
- Doubles ATB when activated. It has cooltime. (2 min at Lv.5)

6. Enemy Skill
- Gives you a chance to learn enemy skills that you’ve endured and use them as abilities. These abilities can only be used when the Materia is set to your equipment. Once learned, each new enemy skill appears as an individual command.

There are 4 enemy skills to learn.

1) Algid Aura from Cerulean Drake in Chapter 3 Sector 7 Slum, Chapter 11, etc.
2) Spirit Siphon from Phantom in Chapter 14 Sector 5 Slum, Shinra Tower VR combat simulator.
3) Self-Destruct from various enemies like Varghidpolis, Trypapolis, Bomb, Smogger
4) Bad Breath from Malboro in Chapter 17 Shinra VR Combat Simulator, post-game chapter select only.

[FF7R] Materia lists and effect - Magic

Hey, are you enjoying FF7R?

There are so many Materia in FF7R, but we can pick up only some of them for battles.

Let’s see what Materia do they have and what’s the recommended Materia.

- Magic -
Magic Materia is green and will enable you to use abilities that will use MP in exchange for powerful spells. Most of these Materia are commonly for sale. To complete Battle Intel Report No.18, you need to level up all kinds of Magic Materia until max.

1. Fire
- Most of the human type enemies are weak at Fire. It has high accuracy.

2. Lightning
- Most of the machine type enemies are weak at Lightning. This magic always hits.

3. Ice
- Most of the Artificial Life & Biological type enemies are weak at Ice. However, Ice has the lowest accuracy. Once the magic hits the enemy, it creates a block of ice. It deals damage when the block explodes. When you’re facing fast enemies (Like Reno), usually it doesn’t hit. Use it when enemies are pressured of staggered.

4. Wind
- Most of the flying type enemies are weak at Wind. Better than Ice, but has a lower accuracy than Fire. Wind pulls the target where the spell was cast.

5. Healing
- One of the most useful Materia. When Healing Materia reaches Lv.3, you can also learn Regen (Gradually heal over time).

6. Revival
- Raise party members who’ve been fainted to join the fight again. It has only up to Lv.2 but required 5,000 AP to level up. This Materia will be the biggest problem to complete Battle Intel Report No.18. Give it to anyone of your party member since you obtained this.

7. Barrier
- Lv.1 only allows you to reduce physical damage, Lv.2 allows you to reduce magic damage as well. Once it reached Lv.3, you can cast Manawall which reduces both physical and magic damage at once.

8. Binding
- It allows you to use disruptive spells to give enemies status effects that hinder them in battle. When you equip this with Warding Materia (support) on the same link of your armor, it proofs sleep, silence or berserk.

9. Subversion
- It allows you to use subversive spells to breach enemy defenses. When you equip this with Warding Materia on the same link of your armor, it proofs instant death. Very useful against Tonberry.

10. Time
- It allows you to use time magic. Also one of the most useful magic in this game. Once you reached Lv.3 of this Materia, you can use ‘Stop’, which halts all movement and actions of the target. Many bosses are immune to Stop, but some of them are not. (For example, Eligor, Chapter 11 boss). When you equip this with Warding Materia on the same link of your armor, it proofs slow or stop.

11. Poison
- Similar to Fire / Lightning / Ice / Wind. Poison is non-elemental damage and inflicts damage over time debuff to the target. When you equip this with Warding Materia on the same link of your armor, it proofs posion.

12. Cleansing
- Allows you to use curative spells that can remove negative status effects from the party. Lv.1 only removes the poison effect, Lv.2 removes all status effects, Lv.3 prevents all status effects.

[FF7R] Materia lists and effect - Support

Hey, are you enjoying FF7R?

There are so many Materia in FF7R, but we can pick up only some of them for battles.

Let’s see what Materia do they have and what’s the recommended Materia.

- Support -
Support Materia is blue. They are all about supporting existing Materia. Support Materia is designed to be put into a dual Materia slot with another Materia, linking the two to create a beneficial effect. Most of blue Materia requires huge AP to level up (If they’re possible to level up)

Due to its powerful effects, Support Materia is a unique. You can collect all the other Materia after Ending via Chapter Select, Support Materia is an exception.

1. Element Materia
- Adds the element of the linked Materia to your equipment. If you linked this with others to a weapon, it grants you to deal that type of elemental damage to enemies. If you linked to an armor, It reduces or negates that type of elemental damage. Works with Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Wind.

It adds 8% / 15% / 23% of the linked elemental damage when it’s equipped to weapon.
Halves / Prevents / Absorbs the linked elemental damage when it’s equipped to armor.

Lv.3 Element Materia on Armor helps really a lot to play Hard Mode. However, due to its unique effect, it requires 2,500 / 7,500 AP to level up, which is the hardest to level up.

Location: 1) Chapter 6, the Sector 4 Plate -- in an optional area down the ladder on the way to the third lamp. Check this post to detail.

2) Chapter 14, Urban Advancement District -- find alongside the Angel of the Slums letter before heading up to the plate as long as you’ve completed all quests involving Mireille.

2. Magnify Materia
- Expand the range of spells with the linked Materia, allowing any Materia this shares a dual-slot with to hit multiple enemies. Magnified spells will have reduced effects, but gets better depends on the level of this Materia. You can turn off the Magnify effect with L1 button.

The most recommended Materia to link is Healing, Barrier, or Time.

Location: Sector 6 Slums during the third arm puzzle.

3. Warding Materia
- Grants resistance to the linked Materia’s status ailment. Works with Poison, Time, Binding and Subversion Materia.

The most recommended Materia is Binding. Time (Slow) and Subversion (Instant Kill) happens really barely in Part 1 and Poison can be covered by Healing Materia. However, Sleep, Silence, and Berserk happen often.

Location: 1) Find in the Sewers in Chapter 10 with the Discovery ‘On the Other Side’.
2) Sector 7 Underground lab - After the collapse in Chapter 13

4. Synergy Materia
- It allows an ally to follow the leader’s attack command with an attack from linked Materia. Works with Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind, and Poison. To use this, equipped character should not be on your control and have enough ATB gauge & Mana to use the spell.

Probably this is the least worthy support Materia.

Location: Buy from Chadley after completing Battle Intel Report No.9

5. HP Absorption Materia
- It allows you to recover HP when unleashing an attack of the linked Materia’s type when slotted in a dual Materia slot with a Magic or Command.

This is unnecessary during Normal Mode. However, in Hard Mode, it’s so hard to recover HP because MP regeneration is blocked. You need to struggle to recover HP by any means. This could be one of the solutions.

Location: Buy from Chadley after completing Battle Intel Report No.19

6. MP Absorption Materia
- It allows you to recover MP when unleashing an attack of the linked Materia’s type.

For the same reason, recover MP is even harder than HP in Hard Mode. With this Materia, use a basic spell (Not ra or ga spell) to reduce MP loss.

Location: Buy from Chadley after completing Battle Intel Report No.18

7. AP Up Materia
- Double the AP earned for linked Materia.

You’ll find a Pedometer Materia near Aerith’s house in Chapter 14. If you walk over 5,000 steps while you equip Pedometer Materia, it will turns into this Materia.

Put this Materia on the same link as Revival, Element, Magnify or something requires a lot of AP to level up.

First, I recommend link this to Revival Materia to complete Battle Intel Report No.18 asap.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake: How To Complete Corneo’s Secret Stash Side-Quest

One of the lengthiest side-quests in Chapter 14, ‘Corneo’s Secret Stash’ takes you on a long journey all across the Undercity. This Final Fantasy 7 Remake quest forces you to find hidden clues, complete optional side-quests, and make progress in the story to find tons of items.

To complete the quest, you’ll need to find Corneo’s Secret Stash Key, which opens strange doors you’ve probably already seen in certain dungeons. The key is only acquired by completing a different side-quest, and you won’t really get any clues. It’s possible to find clues for all the Corneo Stash locations, but it’s found in a random spot — seriously, the stash locations clue is found on the ground in Lookout Point, in the Sector 5 area.

Check the guide below for everything you need to know. We’ve got stash locations, and step-by-step instructions to complete every part of the quest.

Final Fantasy 7 is how you do a remake right

Let me turn the clock back for you. Back in 1997, I was 7 years old and gaming since I was 3 and to that point, videogames were just that, games. There was not a whole lot to the games I had experienced. I was largely a Nintendo and Sega Genesis based gamer, so it was all side scrollers, Zelda and NBA Jam for me. Back then, you couldn’t get the information on new games like you can today, so it was either word of mouth or you’re out of luck. It was then I first set my eyes on Final Fantasy 7 at a friend’s house.
These strange, blocky characters were visually unappealing, but the dialogue was both mature and fun to engage in. This was the first time I saw videogame characters curse at each other,
This is cursing apparently.

So, my 7 year old self was immediately like “This is cool.”. So I watched some more and eventually the fabled random battles started happening and I was hooked, the graphics jumped in quality and the animation just floored me. Fast forward a week and I had a copy of Final Fantasy 7 and I had found my favorite gaming series. My love grew for the series with the release of Final Fantasy 8 the following year (games used to come out with sequels each year, wild concept I know) and since then RPG’s have been my flavor of choice for videogames. Fast forward to 2005 and the Final Fantasy 7 Tech demo comes out.

The world went nuts, but it was only a tech demo. Despite the pining of Final Fantasy fans for the remake of 7 to happen, Square Enix said it would do a remake until the right technology came along. So we given the fantastically underrated Final Fantasy 12 (go play Final Fantasy 12: Zodiac age on PS4, thank me later) to tide us over and then the disaster that was Final Fantasy 13 part-1-3 came along and just ruined most Final Fantasy fans’ faith in Square Enix. Final Fantasy 14 was online and has been a great a success, though it’s strictly an MMO, so it remains niche’ because of that. Then, Final Fantasy 15 finally came out after a ridiculously long development cycle that had the project head leave and be replaced and had the direction of the game scrapped at least once. Final Fantasy 15 was a bit of a mess. I loved it, with the Royal Edition being the ideal way to experience it, but even still, it was such an incomplete vision that it was torturous. Square Enix’s decision to cancel most of the DLC planned for it added to frustration as well.

One year before 15’s release date though, the rumblings of a Final Fantasy 7 remake finally had a face. The release trailer in 2015 got everyone talking, it was barely more than the tech demo released in 2005, but that didn’t matter, because this was the declaration of an official game. It was happening, the dreams of many, many gamers was going to come true. But then, we got combat trailers and the news that this would be a three-part game, aka not the full game remake of Final Fantasy 7 in one experience. This caused uproar and doubt to spread like wildfire and the hype was quelled. People thought the game would never release and a lot of people stopped caring if it ever did. Final Fantasy 7 Remake is for all those people, all the doubters, all the haters and most of all, the fans who believed Square Enix would do this right. 15 years after that tech demo in 2005, the wait was worth it.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a strange game to talk about, because so much of it is going to be familiar for so many fans. This game ONLY takes place in Midgar aka the first 5 hours of the 1997 adventure that was only the appetizer for a 50+ hour game. The Mako Reactor missions, the music, if you’re familiar with Final Fantasy 7 (as you damn well should be) then you know most of the drill here. Square Enix expands upon Midgar in ways that make you just accept this is a game that just takes place in just a city much like you’d accept a game like Watch Dogs, GTA, etc to take place in a city and have no problems with it. The dark and depressing slums of the original are brought to life in a variety of ways including a chatty populace, new characters, and side quests. I’ll admit the side quests are not the best. This isn’t The Witcher 3 here, but some of them do a great job exploring some minor characters from that barely got any screen time the first go around like Jessie, Biggs and Wedge. It also manages to throw some new story beats at you right away making it quite clear this game may reach into the massive amount of Final Fantasy 7 lore that now exists. That means Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core (amazing game)

As well as Final Fantasy: Advent Children. If you’ve only ever experienced Final Fantasy 7, then you may be pretty surprised at some places the story decides to go.

This is a remake, not a remaster, and that means a lot of new comes with the old. Speaking on that, everyone knew the combat would be key. How do you replace the turn based system that drove the Final Fantasy vehicle for years? I’ll tell you how. With a robust and slick real time combat system that influences you to take advantage of all 4 of your party members (no Vincent, Cid, Yuffie or Cait Sith on this go around) and it’s an absolute joy to play.

Cloud is the main attraction as usual and the Buster sword wielding Merc is a thrill to play as while you shift from normal attacks to the strong attacks of punisher mode, all the while mixing in magic, special attacks, summons and limit breaks all managed by the classic Active Time Battle system bars of old. What makes this system so great, is that you need to fill the bars by attacking in order to use any of the above mentioned abilities. This also goes for items, so while Final Fantasy 15 had no limit on how many potions you could spam over and over, Final Fantasy 7 remake limits you big time and makes you strategically choose how and when you want to use your skills, summons etc. Barret effectively plays your long range character here and playing as him is great as well as he has a variety of long and close range weapons to choose from. Tifa comes in as the brawler with a fun and free flowing martial arts style that reflects her playstyle in the original about as well as you can imagine and her upgrades allow her to be a devastating melee character capable of upgrading her abilities mid battle in different and more powerful attacks. Aerith rounds out the cast as the healer and she is about as clutch as can be once you unlock some of her abilities and get her on some auto-cure magic.

This being a game in 2020, the game is fully voiced for the most part. The main cast does a pretty solid job with Cloud sounding about despondent as ever, Tifa being cheerful as ever and Barret being as loud and Mr. T like as ever. Seriously, I have no clue why they made Barrett sound like this

No human on earth sounds like this except maybe Lawrence Taylor in the middle of a cocaine fueled tackle. That being said, he kind of is exactly what I thought Barret would sound like based on his portrayal in the original soo….good job? The one that resonated most with me is Jessie, who has the least cheesy delivery of any of the characters and is just damn lovable every time you interact with her, despite how completely uninterested Cloud is in her (you fool). And yes, a certain iconic villain recovered from being portrayed by Lance Bass (Kingdom Hearts, PS2) and has an absolutely menacing timbre throughout without being over the top. Sephiroth is as memorable as a villain gets and they did him justice here.

The magic system of Final Fantasy 7 has long been praised and here it is very familiar. Materia is the name of magic and summons here and there are a ton of different combinations to equip and experiment with. There are 3 levels to each magic attack and you can unlock new ones as you use them more and more. Same goes for skills and improving upgrades. Upgrades are handled per weapon, and each weapon has 3 different skill trees to fill out. Does this sound like a lot to manage? Well…it is. But that’s what RPG’s are all about. Creating your character to your liking. You want Tifa to be a tank who deals devastating damage attacking enemies from behind? You can do that. You want Barret to be a supporting character who has unreal defense and can cast barrier to protect the party? You can do that too. The customization here is fantastic and helps make this feel like its’ own game and not the cash grab so many claimed it was going to be.
The last thing I’ll touch upon is the graphics. This game is simply gorgeous. Characters look incredible and levels are meticulously crafted with Easter eggs carefully hidden throughout with details on top of details. The way 10-15 minute missions of the original game have been expanded to hours long engagements is honestly fascinating to see. Remember the second Mako reactor? Get ready to spend a long time there as new puzzles, hidden encounters, hidden Materia to collect are all on the docket now. You can tell they didn’t want to just remake a classic game, they wanted to create another classic game.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a love letter to all the fans of the original. It does everything in its’ power to satisfy at every corner and while the sidequests are a bit on the weak side. The main story is as thrilling as ever and I’m excited to jump right back in as they just don’t make RPG’s like this any more.
How are you liking Final Fantasy 7 Remake so far? Is it your first go around in a Final Fantasy game? Did it ruin one of your favorite games? DID YOU PLAY Final Fantasy 7: CRISIS CORE? Keep the spoilers out of it, but let’s talk about it in the comments below.

[FF7R] 3 Hidden Materia in Mako Reactor 5

Are you enjoying FF7R?

I've just cleared Mako Reactor 5. There are 3 hidden Materia on the map, so I want to introduce how to get it.

1) Blue Materia - Elemental Materia
You'll find blue Materia very easily, but the walkway to get there will be collapsed if you approach (And Barret will make fun of you lol). To get this Materia, you need to shut off the 3 sun lights and go to the sector H-07.

If you already shut off the sun lights, you can control the platform via console. Walk up to the console and move the platform into place. Walk over your makeshift bridge and pick up your blue Elemental Materia.

2. Purple Materia - MP Up Materia
The purple Materia is on the same platform in the sector H-07, the top of the platform.

Once you made a makeshift bridge, you can lower it one more time.

Lower the platform via console and get the purple Materia.

3. Red Materia - Chocobo & Moogle Summon Materia
I bet you've already seen this when Cloud, Barret, and Tifa slowly walk along the pipe in front of the industrial fan. After you can blue and purple Materia, head back to the massive moving platform you’ve been trying to restore the power to.

Instead of getting on the platform and moving to the next area, go past it and take the smaller moving platform on the right. Ride it over to the wall of the giant plate.

Climb up into the next room and you’ll find some controls for the big fan. When you deactivate the controls, you’ll have one full minute to reach the next console and hit confirm. The only problem is the small group of enemies in the next room. Defeat them as quickly as you can and activate the nearby console. If you fail, you can keep trying until you get it.

With the fan turned off, the door nearby will slide open and you’ll be able to walk into the fan chamber. Walk up to the still blades and pick up your second Summoning Materia.
