Why Jessie is an awesome character and the best for Cloud to be with

A remake of anything is a bizarre thing. A lot of the time you’re remaking someone else’s vision which is a strange concept. The freedom a remake affords the producer is unending and a lot of times the film, TV Show, or game comes out looking nothing like the original. Some examples of this are The Wicker Man, Westworld, and The Invisible Man. Rarely though, do you get to see the original creator redo their masterpiece and with Final Fantasy Remake, we get just that event.

The biggest benefactor of this has been the character of Jessie, a member of Avalanche. While she was pushed to the side in the original game as just another member of Avalanche, here she is a fully fleshed-out character with motivations, backstory, and feeling put into her. She also happens to be one of the many obsessed with Cloud. Here’s why she’s an awesome character and the best character for him to end up with.

She plays no games
I love how the options here were No promises and not happening. Just say yes you buffoon.

While Aerith and Tifa are both great characters, as far as love interests come, they both are pretty chock full of issues. Aerith for one just happens to be one of the last ancients, a long-gone race of people who can communicate with the planet. To me that seems like an awkward conversation to have with the parents when they ask her what she did for a living.
“I talk to the earth.”
“Oh..”
(I realize Cloud has no parents, moving on) Tifa on the other hand seems perfect for Cloud, but they have this “I know too much about you” vibe going on that it almost makes them seem like siblings more than romantic partners. Jessie on the other hand? Other than being an eco-terrorist, she comes right at Cloud and just says come on over tonight I’ll make you dinner and takes every opportunity to flirt or swoon over Cloud. Right from the first scene, she's so obviously into Cloud and does it in such an adorable way that it's insane to me how numb Cloud is to her. Now, maybe Mako poisoning kills your sex drive, who knows, but all I saw was a cool, badass girl all over him that he had no reaction to. Tifa has the whole caretaker of Cloud vibe going on since she basically brought him back to life after the events of Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core, so she never really outright tells Cloud her feelings. Aerith on the other hand is very flirtatious with Cloud but for those of us who know the original story, we know that’s kinda more about who he reminds her of, rather than her actually being into Cloud. Cloud on the other hand doesn’t realize this and becomes slowly obsessed with her.

She's the only one who actively protects Cloud

Despite Tifa playing the caretaker role to Cloud in her head, she never does that much to actually defend him (I'm talking to you AI that controls teammates). Jessie on the other hand gives Cloud all different kinds of material, offers to feed him, stops Cloud from walking into lasers and dying in the first mission of the game, and also takes out an attack helicopter right before he gets there a few seconds too late. Forget what Wedge said about it all being a game to her, she shows she's selfless and just wants someone to show affection back. Cloud, you sir, are a moron.
She’s fighting for her family and she gave up her career to do it

Although Aerith and Tifa have solid reasons to fight against Shinra, none are more touching than Jessie’s. Whether it’s retconned or not, Jessie fighting against Shinra because their activities sickened her father who worked there is nothing short of poetic. She was just another blossoming actress looking to make it in the big time, and then this tragedy hits her and she trashes her dreams, throws on some battle gear, and becomes a freaking eco-terrorist. About as badass as someone can get.
She’s not afraid of anything
Spoiler alert……..
Okay, so during the chapter where the plate falls, Jessie makes her final stand atop the structure going ONE ON ONE WITH A GOD DAMN HELICOPTER! I’m sorry but this was one of the coolest scenes in the entire game and made me love her character even more. Unfortunately, although she gets her epic kill on the helicopter, she loses her life in the process and becomes another casualty to Shinra in her fight to protect people from becoming just that. Her final tearful goodbye to Cloud is gut-wrenching and Cloud even starts to warm up to her in these final moments, making her character complete and giving a throwaway character in the original a fitting and touching end all at the same time.

Final Fantasy 7: Remake has taken some creative liberties with the story (to say the freakin least) but where it has thrived the most is with the amazing job done fleshing out characters who once seemed to be sidelined players. Jessie is the best of the bunch and I only wish that she and Cloud got to share that pizza.

What did you think of Jessie in Final Fantasy 7: Remake? Did you buy the love square that was forming or did you think it was a bit forced? Let’s talk about it more in the comments below.

Final Fantasy 7: Remake Secrets and Unlockables

If there is one game that genre that revolutionized secrets in games, it’s the JRPG. Although platformers had their fair share of secret levels, shortcuts, and the like, it wasn’t till the JRPG came along that secrets really became something to talk about. Final Fantasy 7 was no exception to this and whether it was finding the hidden weapon fights across the world or unlocking Cloud’s Omnislash, there was plenty to be discovered past what met the eye.

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake is thankfully no exception to this rule, and has plenty of its’ own unseen delights for you to uncover.

Moogle Medals for all
I’ll admit, the sidequests in FF7 Remake are pretty lackluster. But, because I’m a completionist, I did most of them just to see what they had to offer. One such mission was called “Kids on Patrol”. This mission has you finding several children and then defeating the eponymous Toad King. Your reward for this is Cloud’s Nail Bat weapon which is unattainable in any other way. The real prize though is the ability to compete in the Whack-a-box minigame which rewards Moogle Medals. There is an infinite amount of medals to earn this way and by farming it, you can gain access to some prime equipment fairly early on in the game.

Cloud and Aerith’s Outfits
During the section in the slums, it is possible to see 3 different dresses for both Cloud and Aerith to end up in. The way this is determined is based on how many side quests you complete during Chapter 8: Budding Bodyguard. If you do no side quests, you get a light pink dress.

If you do 3 side quests, you get the Pink Halter Dress and if you do all the side quests, you get a red gown. There is no real ability to any of these dresses other than aesthetic but hey, if that’s your thing, it’s here to check out.

Secret Weapons
If you happen to have Steal Materia on you, a secret weapon can be obtained in Chapter 11: Haunted. During the boss with Eligor; aka the skeletal hell on wheels that appears out of nowhere, you can use steal on him to obtain the Bladed Staff for Aerith. Using Steal Materia isn’t always a sure thing as you will have to usually give it a few tries before you successfully obtain what you’re looking for. Not only this, but you have to survive the fight as well if you want to actually get to use your rewards. Luckily, Eligor isn’t too tough if you’re well-stocked on items and there’s a bench and a vending machine beforehand to make sure you’ll be just that.

Decide who to pick up
At the beginning of Chapter 10: Rough Waters you are given a choice with who you want to check on after your big fall from Don Corneo’s Mansion. Depending on who you choose, or neither, you will get a different scene in Chapter 14 in the garden.

Extra Limit Breaks
Have you been wondering where all the other Limit Breaks are? I know I started to get tired of seeing Cross Slash for the 1000th time and was hoping for some other attack to unlock. Turns out, there are extra Limit Breaks for each character hidden in the Colosseum. There are no specific instances that need to be fulfilled for these unlocks, simply win all of the fights for Rank One and each character will unlock an additional Limit Break.

Unlockables
There is a secret summon that is unlockable after completing ALL of Chadley’s initial missions. After completing the game, you can start again on hard mode and gain access to a secret boss, new accessories, and a mission select mode as well. You also unlock access to the hardest Shinra Battle Missions if you really want to put your end game equipment to the test.
Have you found any other secrets? Let’s talk about them below, no spoilers please!

Differences between FF7 and FF7 Remake, Which should you buy?

In this post, we will explore three main subjects that include any changes from Final Fantasy 7 the original and the remake and the different versions which the remake offers.
The four key differences between the Final Fantasy 7 remake and the original Final Fantasy 7, is the remake was built using Unreal Engine 4, offers Real-Time Combat, There is stated to be minor story changes and the episodic nature of the remake.
The Final Fantasy 7 remake has been built-on Unreal Engine 4, this allows the character to look much more realistic and allow the environment to offer much more immersion. Square Enix has stated that they are not using the older character models from the animated film Advent Children. Square Enix stated this because the models are over 10-years old and are not life-like enough to be featured in the FF7 Remake.
The FF7 remake also features real-time combat, this a significant difference when comparing the FF7 remake and the original FF7. In the original FF7, players would issue commands to their party of up to three characters, while the remake has changed that significantly, with players controlling one character directly and the remake also allows users to switch between the characters at will.

Unlike common remakes, the FF7 remake will be an episodic structure, Square Enix has stated "a multi-part series, with each entry providing its own unique experience.” Square Enix also stated that the reason for the episodic structure is the larger story and larger game in general. While Square Enix hasn’t said how many episodes that this game will be broken up into. The bright side of an episodic structure allows Square Enix to release each part quicker.

The Story for FF7 remake offers some changes to the story, while the major plot points won’t be changing. Nomura has stated to Dengeki Online that the episodic structure allows developers to offer much more insight into the story when compared to the original FF7. Nomura also hinted that FF7 veterans are also in for some surprises.

There are a total of three different models of FF7 remake, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Standard edition, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Deluxe edition, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake 1st Class edition. The Standard edition is just the game and costs $59.99, this is the cheapest version of the game itself. The Deluxe edition of FF7 remake comes with a fair amount of bonuses, this includes a steel bookcase, an art book, and a mini soundtrack CD. In addition, you also get the Cactuar Summon Materia DLC and Carbuncle Summon Materia DLC. This is a good mid-way price range from the cheapest option and the most expensive 1st Class edition. The Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99. The most expensive option is the 1st Class edition, this comes with all the bonuses of the deluxe edition and offers more bonuses of and a Play Arts Kai Cloud Strife & Hardy Daytona. This edition is perfect for collectors.

For the FF7 remake, I’ll be picking up the standard version, which version will you be picking up?

5 Things We Miss From Early Final Fantasy Games (& 5 We Don't)

Final Fantasy has changed a lot over the last few decades; while some things from the earlier games are missed, others are best left in the past.

The Final Fantasy series is now over thirty years old. Thanks to Square Enix’s constant revisions to the series through new games, spin-offs, and remakes, they manage to keep the series fresh. It’s not without its downfalls though.

The PS3 era, for example, was one of the darker times for not just Final Fantasy, but all JRPGs. Thanks to Final Fantasy VII Remake and even Final Fantasy XV, the series is on an upward trend. Going forward, here are some suggestions to make the next game, or series of games, better from mechanics of the past that are missed, along with those that are not.

How to Unlock Bahamut in Final Fantasy 7: Remake

Final Fantasy has long been a series that has introduced incredible enemy designs and even more spectacular are the designs of the creatures you can summon. The star and perhaps most iconic of these summoned creatures is Bahamut. An ancient dragon-like creature, when Bahamut shows up in your Final Fantasy game, you know it’s about to go down. So it’s no surprise that Final Fantasy 7: Remake saves its’ center stage for the summon of all summons. Here’s how we acquire Bahamut.

First off we need to visit Chadley, the friendly teenager giving us VR fights against different summons and also intel missions. Before we get to fight Bahamut, we need to beat ALL of his summons first, excluding Choco-Mog. That means Shiva, Leviathan, and Fat Chocobo. Not easy tasks on their own, but you can manage it with proper preparation. After you take care of that, we need to complete all of Chadley’s first 19 intel missions. These are not fun to do, but like all good Final Fantasy unlocks, the juice is worth the squeeze. You don’t know pain until you’ve had to breed a Gold Chocobo in the original FF7 to unlock the Knights of the Round.

Once you’re done with all that, it’s time to prepare for the King of Dragons, Bahamut (not sure if that’s hit title here, but I heard it in another Final Fantasy so that’s what we’re going with!). First, going to want to figure out our party. While you can use any combination, your best bet is to have Cloud and Tifa as your primary attackers while Barret or Aerith fills in the third slot as a long-range/magic attacker. We’re not going to worry about specific types of attack Materia for this fight because Bahamut, as he always tends to do, has no elemental affinity at all. You’re going to pretty much need all characters maxed out at level 50 to make this a fair fight, so it might take a bit of side questing to get to that point.
As the fight starts, immediately position your long-range character as far as you can from Bahamut. Let Cloud and Tifa be controlled by the AI while you start building your ATB bar from afar, with any luck Cloud and Tifa will build their bars up while you do this and you can then quickly switch to them to unleash your strongest attacks. What we want to do here is target Bahamut’s stagger bar, which means your earlier abilities like Focused Thrust for Cloud will come in handy here. If any attack specifically targets stagger meters, make sure that’s the one you’ve got equipped. So what’s Bahamut got cooking for you while you do all this?

Well, throughout the entire fight, he has a forcefield around him that does around 140 damage per second, and guess what? You can’t stop it! This is just something you’ve gotta accept and get ready to fight through. Aren’t Final Fantasy 7 boss creators sadistic? Remember Ruby Weapon?

Anyway, to counter this you should have a ton and I mean a TON of healing items on hand to counter it. Mega Potions, Elixirs, whatever you can manage. The two big attacks to watch out for are Umbral Strike and Mega Flare. Umbral strike has Bahamut hurling two homing energy orbs at you that are only dodge-able if you have lighting quick reflexes, so have a healer ready to go the second someone gets hit by this. Umbral Strike is manageable, Mega Flare, however, is not, that is, if you actually LET Bahamut casts it. How this iconic attack works is a countdown will appear and if you let it hit zero, well sit back and enjoy your doom as Mega Flare doles out 9,999 damage to every party member ending your battle instantly. I’m not going to show any footage of the battle here because it’s a visual spectacle reserved for those who make it to the battle(or those who search Bahamut battle on youtube, either or) but here’s a little visual history of Mega Flare and what you’re in for if you let that counter hit zero.
That last gif though...chill-inducing. Anyway. We don’t want that to happen to us, to say the least. The way we’re gonna prevent Mega Flare is by unloading everything we’ve got on Bahamut while he’s counting down. Use Arcane Ward if you have Aerith to double cast your most powerful spells and if you have Limit Breaks available, this is the time to unleash them. Save your limit break with Aerith as healing matters not here considering Mega Flare is instant defeat. If you can successfully stagger Bahamut, you cancel Mega Flare.

If you survive, rinse and repeat these tactics and you will win.....eventually, and in doing so, you'll unlock the strongest summon in the game.

Did you have a different tactic for beating Bahamut? Not even bother with all the prerequisites? Let’s talk about it in the comments below.

Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core(The story before the story)

Way back in the yesteryears of 2008, a little game came out on the PSP called Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core. At the time, I was baffled on why this was made a PSP title and not a PS3 exclusive, but regardless, it ended up being one of the best on the PSP while adding a heaping helping of fascinating lore to what already was an insanely complex story in Final Fantasy 7. This discussion will delve into spoilers for both Final Fantasy: Crisis Core and Final Fantasy 7: Remake

For those who skipped out on this little gem, it deals with the events that directly lead to the beginning of Final Fantasy 7. Our hero is Zack Fair a young SOLDIER in the Shinra war with Wutai. Zack is the character who Cloud believes he is through the entirety of Final Fantasy 7, so right away some familiar character and costume elements appear. What makes Crisis Core so fascinating is not only the examination of Zack as a character but also just who he interacts with throughout the story. The main person being the hero of SOLDIER and idol to all, Sephiroth.
That’s right, for much of Crisis Core, the legendary swordsman is on your side as you hunt down rebel Shinra members Angeal and Genesis, who are both super soldiers infused with Jenova’s cells. Jenova of course is the alien lifeform in Final Fantasy 7 who is possessing Sephiroth’s body for most of the game. Being partnered with Sephiroth for parts of the game is not only an amazing gameplay experience to have, but you also get much more of the human side of him that was absent in Final Fantasy 7. Sephiroth was basically a superhero, the superman of this world if you will. The hero of the people slowly loses his mind after discovering he is nothing more than a genetic experiment. No Mother, no father, no real past, just a prop for Shinra’s ideals. This is what leads to the iconic scene of Sephiroth in the fire of Nibelheim.
Genesis and Angeal are the other amazing parts of Crisis Core. The goal of your journey is to kill this member of SOLDIER who went AWOL and turned against Shinra. Genesis is a tragic story because he learns he is dying from degradation, and the only thing that will help him survive is cells from Sephiroth. He’s suffering from the same experiments and his only goal is to survive after discovering his fate This is where Sephiroth’s revelation about the Jenova cells kicks in and it causes him to go insane. Both of these men are pawns of the horrible Dr. Hollander who is behind these horrible human experiments. Angeal on the other hand is Zack’s mentor who also falls victim to the degradation killing Genesis and is playing both sides of the coin to try and reverse his condition. This eventually causes him to turn himself into a monster and forces Zack to kill him just so his pain can end. Zack obliges and Angeal gives him the Buster Sword and asks him to defend his honor. Zack ends up having to kill both Angeal and Genesis despite ultimately realizing the real enemy is Shinra and these two are just innocent men who are the results of their evil ways. Genesis however is seen having his body recovered in an extra scene so maybe he factors into the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy that’s planned.

Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core manages to explore several themes I found. The cyclical nature of life, Corruption, and heroes and villains. Cutting the head off the snake in this story never signals the end, just the beginning of a new threat. Shinra sending their prized fighter in Sephiroth led to Sephiroth’s revelation which in turn leads directly to ( BIG SPOILER) the end of human existence Via the spell Meteor that he summons. Honestly, you kind of feel for Sephiroth, being part alien, and seeing this human race be capable of just creating a monster, you understand how he would want to just destroy them all. It’s one of the first “Evil villain wants to destroy the world” stories I was ever exposed to and it still stands to this day as one of the best.

Elsewhere in Crisis Core, Zack meets Cloud Strife for the first time and man do they go through some stuff together. Cloud is but a lowly infantrymen who Zack sees as one of the few good guys left in Shinra’s forces and they end up encountering Sephiroth together in a recreation of one of the more iconic scenes in Final Fantasy 7. They end up captured and experimented on together for FOUR YEARS using Sephiroth cells and Jenova’s cells. So everyone wondering why Cloud is having his insane mental breaks where he sees Sephiroth in the remake, well this is why. Sephiroth is Cloud’s Voldemort in a way. Cloud ends up slowly dying from Mako poisoning that he underwent and in an effort to save his near-comatose friend, Zack fights off countless Shinra forces in what is one of the most powerful final battles in gaming as it’s completely hopeless and you have no chance of winning and you know it. It’s a scene that Halo: Reach and Red Dead Redemption ripped off and got more acclaim for, but just know the folks at Square Enix did it first. Zack dies and bequeaths his Buster Sword to Cloud like Angeal did to him. The near-death cloud manages to find his way to Midgar where Tifa finally finds him and then

So, for all the new fans who are looking for more juice in this story, look no further than Crisis Core, it’s not the most thrilling gameplay for today’s standards, but the story is amazing, the boss fights are epic and characters and cutscenes are some of Square Enix’s best. Will more of Crisis Core come into play going forward? Will Genesis return and factor into the story again now that Square Enix has shown no fear and in changing what is a beloved story? Let’s talk about it below.

[FF7R] Tifa character guide

Tifa has very high damage (A little lower than Cloud), short attack range.

But most of all, she has a very unique identity, Boost Stagger Damage Bonus.

With this role, Tifa is always a very useful character in the party.

1. Recommended Materia

1) First Strike
- This Materia is always good for everyone, but especially good for Tifa. Tifa needs to get 2 stacks of her unique ability fast. First Strike helps this a lot.

2) ATB Assist
- Due to Tifa's role, she needs to burst the damage with her ATB skills. Tifa gains ATB gauge very fast so gaining the gauge is not a big matter for her.

Once Tifa gained 2 ATB gauge, we need to use Unbridled Strength to power up her unique ability. This will trigger ATB Assist.

When enemies get pressured, Tifa can use Focused Strike to boost Pressured gauge. This will trigger ATB Assist again and other characters can use their abilities or magic more.

When enemies get staggered, this is Tifa's time. Use True Strike twice (ATB Assist activates), spam her empowered unique ability with △ and this will gain ATB Gauge again. Once Tifa used her unique abilities, use True Strike twice again. (ATB Assist activates again). This whole process will boost Staggered Damage Bonus, it will easily boost the damage bonus more than 300% (If the enemy is still alive).

ATB Assist is a perfect Materia for Tifa so always put this one of her equipment.

3) ATB Stagger
- Same reason as ATB Assist. Tifa staggers enemies easily and more ATB gauge means more True Strike.

4) Skill Master
- This Materia activates when you use 3 different ATB skills (Include Magic, Summon, Limit). Tifa always uses Unbridled Strength, Focused Strike, True Strike, and Starshower when enemies are not pressured or staggered. Tifa activates Skill Master so easily, and as I said, more ATB means more Staggered Damage Bonus for Tifa.

5) One or two of supportive Magic Materia
- This includes Revival, Time, Barrier, Binding, Subversion, Cleansing.

Same reason with Cloud, Tifa doesn't use MP that much. Do not waste her MP, but better to spend it for supportive magic. If Cloud or Barret, Aerith is using them already, you can give Healing Materia to Tifa.

2. Recommended Weapon
Metal Knuckles
- This weapon has the highest attack damage. On the other hand, it has such terrible Magic stats. However, Tifa isn't a magic shooter so this weapon will be a main weapon for Tifa.

Purple Pain
- This weapon is the most important weapon for Tifa. Not because of the weapon itself, but its Weapon Ability. True Strike is the identity of Tifa. You can get this in Shinra Building, Chapter 16.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake How to beat the Hell House

For the longest time, bosses in videogames were underwhelming. They were vaguely bigger than your character and sometimes just the same enemy from earlier but palette-swapped. Then Final Fantasy 7 emerged and showed you what a real boss was supposed to look like. Horrifying monstrosities of gargantuan proportions stood between you and your goals and from that point on, bosses in RPG’s and other genres alike never were the same.

It’s only fitting then, that Final Fantasy 7 Remake ups the ante yet again and gives us some of the most thrilling and challenging boss encounters out there. While some of the earlier encounters require little more than some creative button mashing, some of the later ones provide quite the challenge involving careful studying of movements, attacks, weaknesses, it’s good stuff. One such boss and returning favorite is the Hell House.

Hell House looks like it stumbled out of the cutting room floor from Kingdom Hearts and into your nightmares. You face it in the final wave of the Arena during your time in the Slums and you’re in for quite the exercise in pain if you don’t know what you’re doing (spoiler: I had zero clue). Before the fight begins, we’re going to want a few things.

Have Cloud and Aerith equipped fire, ice, wind, and thunder Materia.
Equip MP UP on both of them if you have it.
Have the Barrier Materia equipped on one of them
Make sure both have curative Materia
Stock up on Phoenix Downs and Ethers
Fat Chocobo summon equipped (non-elemental damage)
ATB boost on either Cloud or Aerith.

Get rid of any elemental Materia, we don’t want any physical attacks bound to an element.

Okay, we’re ready to go. The trick to beating the Hell House is to pay close attention to what color it’s turning. You know by now that red is fire, green is wind, blue is blizzard (remember when it was ice1, ice2? I digress) and yellow is thunder. So how this works is you need to attack with the opposite element depending on what color the house is. If it’s red, attack with blizzard magic. If it’s blue, attack with fire. If it’s green attack with thunder and if it’s yellow attack with wind.

Depending on what color the house starts as you’ll want to get in physical attacks early with Cloud to get his ATB bar up even though Hell House has strong physical attack resistance. Start peppering the house with the opposite magic while it throws chairs at you. These are relatively easy to dodge and don’t do too much damage anyway. After a certain point, Hell House will cast Barrier shift and change its’ color. After laying into it for a little bit, the Hell House will retreat to the stands. At this point it’s key to either dodge the onslaught of chairs being launched at you or if you prefer, you can block them to fill up your ATB bar much quicker. Keep on launching the magic attacks required from afar and then a cutscene will happen, you’ll notice your summon gauge come to life, and subsequently, we enter…

PHASE 2:
In phase two of the battle, the gloves are off and Hell House comes up close in personal with several heavily damaging attacks including one where either Cloud or Aerith gets sucked into the house and takes on damage until they spit out. It will also bring up a shield that makes it nearly impervious to any type of damage unless you specifically target the arms which are very difficult to hone in on. Blocking is key here to fill up your ATB gauge. This is the ideal time to heal. Occasionally, this shield will drop and Hell House will go for more elemental attacks. These are harder to dodge than the first go-around but its’ weaknesses remain the same. Cast the opposite magic until it flies away into the stands again. After a little back in forth here…

PHASE 3:
This mode acts as an amalgam of the first two modes and the full weaknesses plus the ability for Hell House to absorb magic attacks that match its’ color has returned. This mode is a bit tricky because of its’ attacks are amplified and it enters its’ shielded God House Mode so often that it becomes hard to deal out damage consistently. The key here is to stay patient and make sure you’re healing in between attacks. Barrier is effective here as is Regen. You want to try and break down God House Mode as fast as you can and the way to do that is by attacking the arms which raises the stagger meter. Do this enough and he’ll be defenseless and hopefully, at this point, your summon or Limit Break gauges are full and you can summon Fat Chocobo or absolutely wreck Hell House with Cloud’s Limit Break. Hell House gets more and more erratic towards the end of this battle so be careful you’re not losing focus when its’ health dwindles because that’s how a quick loss will hit you in no time.
Stay patient, heal during every break you have, and carefully attack when you see an opening and you should finally defeat what is the hardest boss in the game to this point.

I hope this helped! Did you have an alternate strategy to beating Hell House? Stay away from spoilers, but let’s talk more about Final Fantasy 7 Remake in the comments below.

[FF7R] Cloud character guide

Cloud Strife, the protagonist of FF7R.

Most of the time, you'll control him during the game. He has the highest basic damage, perfectly balanced stats, very useful weapon abilities.

Let me introduce the guide for Cloud.

1. Recommended Materia

1) First Strike
- This Materia is always good for everyone. You can Assess the enemies, or use Counterstance immediately.

2) Fire or Lightning & Element
- Equip these Materia on the same weapon link, it will grants you additional elemental damage. If you equip them on the armor, it will grants reduce / negate / absorb that elemental damage.

You can add Ice or Wind instead of Fire or Lightning, but the monsters who use Ice or Wind are much less than Fire or Lightning.

You can put them on the weapon link in Classic, Easy, Normal Mode, but I strongly recommend you to put them on the armor in Hard Mode.

3) Steadfast Block
- You'll control Cloud most of the time during the game. It means the enemies will target Cloud first. With Steadfast Block Materia, Cloud will gain a lot of ATB gauge and use his powerful weapon abilities fast. This Materia gets more important in Hard Mode so practice guarding the attacks with this.

4) Assess
- Only when you meet the monsters for the first time.

5) One or two of supportive Magic Materia
- This includes Revival, Time, Barrier, Binding, Subversion, Cleansing.

As you know, Cloud usually spends his ATB gauge with Weapon Abilities. This means he doesn't use his MP that much. Anyway Cloud's MP is not enough, but you can use this supportive magic for a boss fight. In Hard Mode, I recommend Revival and Time (or Barrier).

2. Recommended Weapon
1) Hardedge
- As you see above, Hardedge is the strongest melee weapon for Cloud. When you use Cloud as an attacker, this is the best choice.

2) Twin Stinger
- This weapon has the same melee attack and magic attack. You can pick up this weapon when you need to use some magic with Cloud, or fight against the monsters who have high DEF stats (Most of them are Machines).

The most important thing of this weapon is its weapon ability, Counterstance. It's similar to Punisher Mode's guard counter, but Counterstance can also counter ranged attacks and magic, deal stronger damage than Punisher Mode guard counter.

This is a very important ability especially against Sephiroth, Bahamut, every Hard Mode bosses so you must make its proficiency as 100%.

3. Control Tips
- When you switch Cloud's attack mode from Operator Mode to Punisher Mode, there's a guard point. Cloud's body will glow for a short when we change the mode. When Cloud was hit by the enemies while he is glowing, Punisher Mode guard counter will activate immediately.

- Infinity's End takes so long to deal damage. When enemies pressured gauge is almost full, cast Infinity's End before they get staggered. Once Cloud is spinning, switch to Tifa and cast Focused Strike to stagger the enemies. Cloud's Infinity's End will strike Staggered enemies.

[FF7R] Get Cloud, Tifa, Aerith's all dresses

Hey, are you enjoying FF7R?

You’ve seen Cloud, Tifa and Aerith’s dress in Don Corneo’s mansion already I think.

Each character has 3 types of dress, and there is a PS4 trophy for seeing all dresses.

Now let’s see what dresses do they have and how to see them.

1) Cloud

Cloud's dress changes depending on which side quests you've cleared in Wall Market (Chapter 9). There are 2 routes of side quests: (The Price of Thievery & Shears' Counterattack from Madam M / The Party Never Stops & A Dynamite Body from Chocobo Sam). Those routes are determined based on the choices you have made in this chapter. To learn more about the choices & differences they make, see the guide below for more detail.

To choose Chocobo Sam side quests, follow these events

1. Description of Tifa - She’s in great shape
2. Sam’s coin flip - Head / Tail (from Japan wiki)
3. Madam M’s massage - 100G
4. Aerith’s outfit - It’s alright

After you defeat Hell House and leave Aerith with Madam M for change outfit, Sam would give you side quests, "The Party Never Stops" & "A Dynamite Body". If you clear these quests, you’ll get a blue dress.

To choose Madam M side quests, follow these events

1. Description of Tifa - She’s great at handling the books
2. Sam’s coin flip - No deal (from Japan wiki)
3. Madam M’s massage - 3,000G
4. Aerith’s outfit - Looks comfortable

After you defeat Hell House and leave Aerith with Madam M for change outfit, Madam M would give you side quests, "The Price of Thievery" & "Shears' Counterattack". If you clear these quests, you’ll get a white dress.

If you don’t clear any side quests, you’ll get a black dress.

Cloud’s dress will be counted after you finish the dance event, and then able to control Cloud on the field.

2) Tifa

Tifa's dress will change depending on how you answered in Discovery Alone at Last. Note that you need to finish all the odd job quests in Chapter 3 in order to do this discovery event. Tifa will ask what dress will suit her. Your reply will change how she dresses in Corneo's Mansion.

Something mature - mature-looking blue dress

Something... sporty? - Chinese style looking sporty dress

Something exotic? - Japanese kimono looking exotic dress

If you don’t clear any side quests, the dress will be mature looking dress automatically.

Tifa’s dress will be counted when you meet her from the gate to Slum 6, Chocobo wagon.

3) Aerith

Aerith's dress changes depending on how many quests you've cleared in Chapter 8.

Dark Red Dress - Clear all 6 side quests in Chapter 8

Pink Dress - Clear 3 side quests in Chapter 8

Link Pink Dress - Clear nothing

Aerith’s dress will be counted when you face her in front of Don Corneo’s mansion.

You can only choose 1 dress at the time. This means you need to finish the game at least once and then choose ‘Chapter Select’ to re-play the game. The date will be saved if you clear the chapter.

So you need to clear Chapter 3, Chapter 8, at least twice more. The dress will be counted even though you don’t clear Chapter 9.
