Fortnite: Counters to the Crashin' Cars of Fortnite!
Hey there, Fortnite folks! With the release of cars, trucks and every motor vehicle in between FINALLY being released, I wanted to share a few quick building tips I’d thought up to help you survive the sudden surge of vehicular violence across the valley. With everyone trying to get their hands on the new rides, you can treat the new cars as, not a joyride, but bait. Plant a hot-rod or massive semi-truck in a clearly visible location and given enough time, someone will notice and go sprinting for the set of wheels that is surely to make their lives easier, right? Wrong. There you are, crouched behind a bush or up in your self-built tower, ready to take the shot. This, of course, relies on your knowledge of each map and where a lot of traffic ( Heh, see what I did there?) tends to come through. This way, you have the best position possible to pick someone off for trying to steal your wheels.
Once player population starts to decline through out the battle royale, you can use the vehicle yourself to try and seek out the remaining players in style. Maybe put on some tunes for your victory. But Rowan, you ask, surely you must have a solution if the cars are being used against us? For that, dear reader, I say unto thee… build. Build as you’ve never built before! Okay, perhaps not that crazily but cars do still obey the law of physics in Fortnite, for the most part, and a hastily crafted ramp will send the approaching vehicle soaring over your head while you continue on your way. I’d warn about reaction time for this but knowing most Fortnite pros, I don’t believe that will be an issue. A basic wooden ramp will serve the purpose here, but if you’d like to use a more durable material to possibly block the vehicle from coming back around with walls, the rarer metal would be your best choice.
And finally, my last piece of advice for the new cars… is to know when to abandon the car. I know, nothing beats cruisin’ down the road with your favorite station on the radio as you run over some poor dude’s amazing wooden castle in your semi, but cars don’t have weapons installed (yet, anyway…) and as I stated above, it is very possible for someone to focus in on a car for multiple reasons. This is still Fortnite after all and stealth/subtly do still get most players further than barreling through the storm in their pick-up. I do recommend using the cars when possible or if you’re just looking for shenanigans, but if victory and fame are what you seek, know when the car moves from a joy, to a liability. If you’re lucky, you might find another vehicle in a more convenient location! Just watch for someone watching you, after all…
Got any amazing car clips? Share them and I’ll let you folks know which earns my seal of epic approval in the comments! Hope you all have an amazing weekend and drive crazy!
