STOP Dropping At These Fortnite Locations!
With every new map change, comes new locations and drop spots. Sometimes we get some really amazing ones, and sometimes we get some not-so-cool ones. A key element to winning #BattleRoyale is dropping in the perfect location. Spoiler alert!!! This list isn’t them. Here are the top 5 worst drop zones currently in the game. Pls, STOP DROPPING AT THESE LOCAtIONS if you want to win!! (Disclaimer: drop zones are subjective and definitely relative to skill levels within the game!)
This is a popular drop spot for a lot of players. If you loved dropping at Tilted Towers back in the day, this area is for you! On the other hand, there aren’t many buildings to loot. Sure, while searching one building you may find six chests, but when you and your squad land, what are the odds of the 4 of you surviving vs five other teams who are looting the lobby in the same building?
This location was introduced in the early days of Fortnite and quickly became a hit. There is a total of five houses and one gas station for looting. And try-hards. Try-hards everywhere. Overall, it’s just flat out overrated.
This location received a total makeover this season! The high water transformed it. There are some things that didn’t change though! There is still a minuscule area of ground to cover and search for weapons. Sure...everything SEEMS spaced out, but there is a real lack of buildings around. Additionally, the chance of getting shot in the ass by campers in the weeds is relatively high.
Another thing about the water receding - Sweaty Sands is bestowed upon us once again! But guys...I’m just going to say it...it’s...you guessed it. OVERRATED. What is all the hype about at this place? All of the buildings are very close together and after looting everything you have to go into Salty or Pleasant and die to the try-hards that survived those locations.
I want to love this location...I really do. It’s just too hard for me to commit to. I love dropping on the outskirts of the map, but with hardly anything around it and a long distance to sprint away from storms, it’s just not worth it. It’s a tough spot to loot well and make it back safely.
What are your thoughts? Aren’t these locations the worst? Do you have a location that you believe is just not worth dropping at? Let me know in the comments.
What to Make of the New Map Changes and Upcoming Season
The water-filled Fortnite season, featuring sharks and boats, will seem to no longer be in the upcoming season of Fortnite. We see that this season was an interesting one and one of the best seasons that Fortnite came out with since Season 5. Given the fun and action-packed trailer we saw on June 17th, here is what we can expect from the next update.
First, if you haven’t noticed, there are no more sharks in the game. Further, the water levels have decreased across the maps. What used to be deep underwater is now seemingly much higher and visible, indicating that next season will have, at the very least, land with few bodies of water, or one similar to the earlier seasons of Fortnite. The water will be reduced greatly, and the landscape will be sure to rise in the upcoming season. However, given the trailer in Chapter 2, there may be more interesting modes of transportation.
We saw in the promo released earlier in June, that there were many vehicles that were being shown off. One of them seemed to be a racecar, while other vehicles were more heavy-duty, like an RV. much like the vehicle concept in Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite will adopt a similar style of player mobility in its upcoming seasons. Expect a lot more movement in the new Fortnite update and even more chaos across the map.
Further, there is some speculation that the classic Deagle will be coming back soon. It has been a long while since we got to use the Deagle, and this upcoming season gives Epic Games a great chance to bring it back, especially with its vehicle-themed season. It would be an amazing pairing being able to Deagle structures while riding in a racecar as a hard target.
Finally, there was a recent leak on a new shotgun, called the Dragon Shotgun. The shotgun will fire four bullets at a time, and will only be available in Epic and Legendary availabilities. It will potentially be one of the deadliest shotguns in the game, with headshot damage of 166 at the highest level. It will also have 60 damage to structures, making it very important to winning close encounters.

Fortnite: Battle for the Badlands!
Hey there, Commanders!
So, we’ve all braved the storm at this point. We’ve delved deep into the dungeons full of darkness and fought every husk that’s coming drooling and hissing out of the storm’s violet clouds. Now, it’s time for us to brave the new ‘ventures, filled with rage, determination and a deep hunger for loot! Rotating every few months for a total of five Venture seasons per year, this new mode will feature a Diablo 3-style reset at the beginning of every new Venture theme. Your progress will also only matter specifically while within the Venture map, which is the Blasted Badlands this time around! We’ll get to explaining that in a second. What this unique way of powering yourself up means is that only Venture-specific activities will contribute to only Venture-specific content and your Survivors or other gear won’t need to be worried about! You can get rolling right off the bat with the new content, whether you’re a rugged veteran of the storm or a fresh commander still wet behind the ears.
If you’d like a little boost, drag some friends into the badlands! For every other commander you bring along, your power grows, and having more eyes to spot resources or vending machines for progression is always fun. This spin gives Save the World a little more of a survival spin, which is a welcome spice to the game mode!
Venture modes will also come with specific modifiers to how you, the great Commander, perform in combat. As mentioned earlier, the specific mechanic this time around is called the “Rage Meter”. The fires of rage require constant fuel and this new mechanic is no different. Draining your energy at a consistent, never-ending rate, your best bet to gain back your resources to survive is to let that rage become fuel for your combat! Every bullet that finds a Husk’s skull and every melee swing that breaks bones will regenerate your energy, as well as the passive naturally making your abilities cool down faster than before! It’s a risk-vs-reward playstyle and is extremely satisfying to just unleash an ability fueled frenzy on the twisted hordes.
Now that you’ve got your abilities, rage and your squad all set up, you’re going to need some weapons, badlander! Despite most of these post-apocalyptic themes revolving around the skill of being able to kitbash together scraps and resources, strangely Fortnite’s Venture mode does not feature the system from the rest of the game, while still retaining the need for resources. Instead of crafting a weapon with the items, you’ll be “purchasing” it from the conveniently placed Vending machines that I mentioned above. If your weapon is seeing constant use and you’d rather not lose that legendary Auto-rifle you spent all your resources to get, there’s repair stations also conveniently placed around the map where you can buff the scratches or pound out the dents in your weapon.
Once you’re finally ready to go hunting for that loot, you’ve got to be aware of what it is you’re hunting, badlander! Knowledge is power, of course, and with my help, you’ll know a lot. If you’ve missed event weaponry from your collections book, you can find vouchers as a reward from your FORT levels, as well as tokens to re-perk your weapon schematics and Superchargers, items that will allow you to kick heroes, survivors and schematics up to level 60!
There’s plenty of other juicy details in the newest Save the World update and don’t you worry, badlanders, I’ll be diving into each of them, including the new Imposter Quest, featuring the juiciest, beefiest playable character the Home Base has seen yet!
So, tell me, Commanders… you ready to venture into a land of lawlessness and rage?
Fortnite: A Bump in the Road!
Hey there, Fortnite folks!
With the recent chaos involving update 13.30, I wanted to discuss a few things. Firstly, the structural instability that came along with this patch. The strangeness of this sudden spike in crashes across multiple systems seems out of character for Fortnite, who has rarely experienced such issues over the past few updates. The crashes have seen been hotfixed over the course of a few patches for each system, but it raises a concern for me, primarily how the current conditions of game development are going to affect quality going forward. As a rather large number of companies are working completely from home ( or at least as much as possible), developing even the most basic of content has become a struggle.
Some games, such as Square Enix with Final Fantasy 14, have adapted drastically and kept up their content to the usual standard. Other titles, such as Destiny and now Fortnite, seem to be struggling. This latest update was not that involved and I saw more things fall apart with it than I did the ground-breaking live stream concerts, so my concern that is that the longer in to the current conditions we get, the worse these issues are going to become and Fortnite will start suffering from a history of instability in the long-term.
Running along a similar vein is how poorly executed the Build-A-Brella system seems to have been on launch. Texture issues, causing crashes and other problems plague the new feature and while the dev team has confirmed they’re looking into the issue, it raises a lot of questions about the stability of future updates for even something small.
Moving on the next topic involves a little bit of community and developer concern both. Cars were believed to be introduced with this patch, as a lot of the marketing and certain social media practices led fans to believe. Considering the entire concept of vehicular gameplay is new to Fortnite, this naturally has many fans excited. The issue is, this also led to an incredible amount of assumption. No official source stated the vehicles would be releasing on the 21st, nor did any developers back this information up in any way. It was falsely leaked from an unknown source and the community ran with it. Combined with the disappointment of this patch to begin with, naturally this has caused some outrage, which while I am worried about the specific direction the developers plan to go with not properly QA-ing their content, this kind of behavior is extremely undeserved from the community as a whole.
While I myself am equally excited about the cars update, we need to make sure that it is released properly and as functional as it can be, so we don’t end up with another Build-A-Brella scenario where trying to drive across a bridge crashes the game entirely. This will only leave a bad taste in the mouth of the players with said content. What do you guys think of all this? As members of the community yourselves, I really want to hear your thoughts about this latest patch and a lot of the drama coming up around it.
Ratman's Guide To Winning Catch in Fortnite
Catch recently made a reappearance! In honor of it resurfacing, I wanted to make a quick and easy guide on how the Ratman survives the game. In 5 easy steps - you too can be a master of this limited mode. Unfortunately, the mode isn't available right now, but I'm sure it won't be long before we see it again!
5) Lay Low
Similar to other game modes, the key to victory in Catch is laying low and avoiding getting blown to bits! There’s nothing wrong with camping, folks!!
4) Be Fast
Transportation in the mode is a must! Always make sure you have rift to gos and launch pads on hand! Without question, you will find yourself in a pinch needing a quick getaway. Play it smart and have a plan!
3) Carry AT LEAST One Heal
You would be amazed late-game how many people don’t carry shields or health items in this mode. This is one game mode where all the edible fruits and veggies come in handy! Carrying more than one is good, but make sure you don’t take up valuable inventory space. You don’t want to run out of weapons!
2) Find A Boat
One of my favorite things to do is to grab a boat and start firing! With almost the entire map covered in water and endless ammo, the boat provides a quick getaway and doubles as a weapon!
1) Stay With Your Team!
Trying to play this game mode solo is almost impossible. Especially when the other team is a full squad and tons of clingers start heading your way! Stick together to give your team the best chance at victory!
Do you have any tips for playing Catch? Let me know!
What new items were unnecessary in this season of Fortnite?
The excitement factor for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 was strong! I was very excited to tame sharks and ride the waves (I still am.) Although we got some pretty awesome new toys to play with, as well as new locations. There were a few features this season that I could have lived without. Here are the top 5 things that I think weren’t necessary and don’t add much in terms of gameplay.
Looks super cool! I mostly use it to mess with friends and teammates because it’s funny to burn things down. The more I play with it though, the more I end up setting myself on fire or burning down my teammates build while they fight. Overall, I’m better off without it. It doesn’t offer much in terms of bringing down the enemy.
Let my start off by saying, these items are cute as heck. This season, we got tons of yummy looking fruits and veggies. Some of them give shield, while others increase health. However, the game is currently FLOODED with healing items, not including the food. I almost never use them because they are a waste of time.
Portable Upgrade Machines
In your early game, they are fine. They mostly take up too much space in inventory. In mid - end gameplay you are going to need your mats for builds. I definitely prefer the non-portable machines. It is too hectic late game to try to use it.
These guys show up out of the sky and shoot anything in their view. They are pesky and don’t really hold any good loot. They are pretty much there to cause a headache. Super unfun and you guessed it - unnecessary.
We’ve seen many changes to the shotgun over time in Fortnite. We’ve seen combat shotguns, drum shotguns, tactical, pump, heavy, etc. BY FAR - the charge shotgun is the absolute worst rendition in the game.
Are there any features in this season of Fortnite you just don’t get or feel don’t add much to the overall gameplay? Let me know in the comment section!
What to Do when you’re Low on Mats in Fortnite
Being low on Mats in Fortnite is one of the most pressing issues we see arise in the late-game scenarios. Most of the time, we find ourselves running out of Materials in the game, especially in heightened scenarios where we do not constantly check on our inventory. This, in turn, leaves us a lot more vulnerable to being shot down and being gained the height advantage. However, we can definitely still remedy this deficiency and increase our longevity in the match.
The first and best thing to do is pure prevention. From the moment you land in the map to the last seconds of the circle, prevention of the situation is the best type of counter you can have in the game. It is a low-risk and high-reward mindset, as you do not go into the enemy fire by simply seeking out materials in the game when you need to. At the same time, however, be prudent in where you harvest your materials. Do not go out into the trees and start chopping them down piece by piece. Instead, go inside of homes, and you can most definitely get a sufficient amount of wood and brick. Go for the floors, walls, stairs, chairs, beds, and attics. These in-house items are usually the ones with the fastest return with the best safety. If you see that the last circle is mainly open, then you have no choice but to harvest in the open. In the case that it does come to this, try to chop down trees in an area where there are plenty of them or in an area that is secreted. For example, it would be much better to harvest in the middle of 20 trees than it is from 2, considering cover and abundance. Further, it is much better to be safe into a little patch of trees that is not the main focal point of the current circle.
Second, if it really comes to it, is to keep the pressure. For example, one time, when I was low on mats, and literally had nothing left while my opponent still had more to go, I kept on lasering down endlessly with both my AR, SMG, and grenades. You do not want to run away. This will lead you to look weak and make the opponent gain a lot of confidence, making you a very easy target. Instead, try to fake the fact that you can keep taking on the fight. Aim to deconstruct the structure and keep going for the kill.
Third, is to edit what you already can. Being low on mats forces you to be creative with the current structures that you have built. Make windows and doors and try to edit your stairs. Whatever you do, try to maneuver through the structure with a purpose. Locate the enemy and attempt to shoot them down. Further, you could attempt to bring down the entire structure by dropping yourself off to the ground and taking down each material that serves as the foundation. By dropping down discreetly, you will take your opponent by surprise, especially if the structure is high. Essentially, try winning by fall damage.
