Продолжается работа по обновлению игры, начатая в феврале. Разработчики и дизайнеры работают дни и ночи, чтобы как можно скорее представить обновленную игру, которая будет и увлекательнее, и сложнее. Любопытно, не так ли? Поэтому сегодня мы хотели бы показать и объяснить вам некоторые изменения в игре.
 
 
Одно из самых больших изменений в Rogue Universe - это изменение формы космического пространства, где летали осколки метеоритов. Теперь оно выглядит наподобие пчелиных сот, то есть планеты покрыты шестиугольными плитами, что усиливает ощущение стратегической игры и облегчает разграничение врагов и союзников, а также упрощает атака и защиту.
 
Раньше пользователи на планете выбирались и показывались случайным образом и нельзя было узнать, кто находится рядом и что делает. В новой версии игры можно будет узнать точное местоположение союзников и врагов, что сделает важным позиционирование. Так как ресурсы и расстояние до врага отображается в зависимости от того, где вы находитесь. Развернётся ожесточённая конкуренция за места, где можно добыть минералы или ресурсы или объединиться с союзниками.
 
 
Мы заимствовали некоторые концепции из игр SRPG и внедрили концепцию плиток в битвы. Раньше флот для битвы расставлялся автоматически, как только назначался противник. Но в изменённой игре вы можете управлять исходом битвы, самостоятельно выбрав корабли, их расположение и порядок наступления. Расставляя флот и определяя порядок наступления, важно помнить, что есть корабли со слабой силой атаки, но бьющие на дальние расстояния, и корабли, атакующие на короткие расстояния, но с более мощной силой. Надеемся, что данные изменения сделают битвы более увлекательными.
 
 
Ранее присутствие членов экипажа в игре было довольно слабым. Теперь мы планируем отрегулировать их важное влияние в битвах, тем самым увеличив их присутствие и использование в игре. Члены экипажа будут иметь различные и мощные навыки. Также будет важно, на какой корабль они садятся. Другими словами, пользователь сможет создать свой собственный флот, стратегически сопоставляя членов экипажа с кораблями. Например, вы выбираете флот с более мощной силой атаки, отказываясь от дальности удара или наоборот. Так, создав свой собственный флот, можно проверить, работает ли выбранная стратегия с помощью повтора битвы. Также можно настроить свою стратегию, сравнивая ее со стратегиями других пользователей.

Hello, fans of Rogue Universe.
 
Since February, the game renewal process has been underway. In order to deliver a worthwhile game, our developers and designers have spent day and night to create a fun experience for our users. We would like to take this time to show you our progress and some of the new features in the new game.
 
 
One of our biggest changes in Rogue Universe; Planets are now covered in hexagonal tiles which give off a strategy game vibe but it also helps tell our enemies and allies apart for defense and attack.
 
Before, users on a planet would be randomly picked and shown so players didn’t know who was actually nearby their ships. With our new installment, players on a planet will be shown the real distance between the players on the planet. This aspect of the game will be important because players will have to put into account their position on a planet because there will be specific spots on a planet where players can assemble much more resources when they occupy the spots.
 
 
 
We have borrowed some concepts from SRPG games and implemented tiles in battles. Previous battles involved picking your fleet and dispatching them and they will automatically fight your opponents. Now, you are able to strategically place which ships will go where during the battle and in what order. You’ll also have to keep in mind whether ships are capable of long-distance attacks or they have good firepower with short-distance attack and so on. Hopefully, through our new changes, you will bring in a new level of entertainment in combat.
 
 
 
Previously, the crew members’ presence in the game was quite weak. Now, we plan on using our crew members to be a crucial part of combat by increasing their presence and the way players deploy them. The crew members will have various skills and strengths and it’ll be important which ship they board. Players will be able to match the crew members to the ship of their choosing to create their own fleet. For example, should you give up your range over ships with higher attack capabilities or vice versa. Players can test their own fleet out through battle replay. Players can also compare their own strategies to other users.

Hello, fans of Rogue Universe! It has been a while since we have given you an update.
 
We have just started on redeveloping Rogue Universe from the ground up last month. With a team of 11 developers, we are slowly but surely working on a revamping the game. Today, we have interviewed our lead game designer, Young Kwon Lee and lead programmer, Seok Young Song to give you an insight of what kind of changes to look forward to.
 
Q. What are you currently working on?
A. We are pretty much changing everything except for the backdrop of space. Before, combat and missions were the focus of game but our users felt that the missions became too repetitive and boring so we’ve scrapped missions entirely and am focusing on battles instead.
 
Q. How has the combat changed?
A. We came to a decision that we would focus on making battles more fun after a debate. Using the backdrop of a Tactical RPG world, we will be introducing a grid system. Previously, after selecting your opponent your ships would be dispatched and went out to battle automatically, but now players would be able to be more hands on about where the ships will be dispatched, which ships and which characters to dispatch and really think about the strategy aspect of the game. To ensure that our changes to the game are fun and going the right direction, we’ve even made paper prototypes and set it out like a board game and tested it out.
 
 
Q. How about the characters?
A. The characters’ presence in the game wasn’t tangible but it will be and will become a central focus to the game. Their combat skills and support skills will play a bigger role in combat. Their effects will depend largely on which ship they board. The users will have to strategically match the crew to the ships and make their very own fleet. For example, you have to plan whether you want to increase your attack skills even though you should limit your range or vice versa.
 
Q. What will be the biggest change?
From here on out everything will have to be done with your guild members. Currently, the game feels like it’s every man for himself. However, the revamped game will be a more collaborative system where players are fighting together for a cause. When someone wants to attack another player, they can send out an announcement and your allies will be able to send a fleet your way. Also, the person getting attacked can also assemble their own allies and fight back.
 
Q. Isn’t there already a guild system in the current game?
A. Yes, we do have a guild system for our old game. However, we weren’t able to show our players their guild members moving. It was difficult to see more than a handful of ships in one scene and if you joined a guild, you wouldn’t know what other guilds were up to. But from now on, players will be able to see other guilds’ ships and their movements and it will be important for guild members to move together.
 
Q. Will there be any changes in the universe itself?
A. We will be using the basic backdrop of the universe. However, the concept of planets will be different. Before, we showed where the users were on the planet randomly. You wouldn’t be able to tell who was next to you and what they were doing. In the future, we will introduce accurate locations so that you can check which allies or enemies are nearby. Depending on the location of resources of enemies, it’ll be reflected in game play. You’ll have to fight for the best location.
 
Q. Why would it be good to find a good location?
A. It has to do with your allies and resources. If there are many of your allies in an area, then you’ll be able to get there faster. A. We’d like to apologize for not being able to meet expectations. We weren’t able to deliver a combat system and there wasn’t a lot of depth and there was a lot of doubt about the fun factor we were delivering. That’s why we’ve decided to rework the game and put our players’ interests in mind and give them what they want. We’d also like to thank our users for taking an interest in Rogue Universe and we hope to see you again once we relaunch the game.

Вопрос: Какие работы ведутся в данное время?
Ответ: Исправляется практически всё, за исключением космического пространства. В старой версии игры было два направления: миссии и битвы. Но мы получили много отзывов о том, что повторяющиеся миссии неинтересны, поэтому мы убрали их и сконцентрировались на битвах.
 
Вопрос: Насколько важна битва?

Прежде, чем всерьез приступить к разработке, мы сделали бумажный прототип, то есть распечатали на бумаге в виде настольной игры и сыграли, чтобы проверить, будут ли эти улучшения интересными.
 
 
Вопрос: Как изменились персонажи?
Ответ: Персонажи, роль которых была незначительной, стали центром игры. У них появятся навыки мощной атаки и навыки поддержки в битве. Важно будет определиться с диапазоном действия навыков и распределением на корабли. Пользователь сможет создать свой собственный флот, стратегически подбирая экипаж и корабли. Например, вы сможете отказаться от дальнего диапазона в пользу кораблей с высокой силой атаки или наоборот.
 
Вопрос: Какое будет самое большое изменение?
Ответ: В будущем все действия должны выполняться совместно с членами гильдии. Сейчас преобладает персональная игра. Но в измененную игру вводится концепция совместного боя путём внедрения системы объединения. Если я объявлю, что собираюсь напасть на кого-либо, мои союзники могут отправить ко мне свой флот. Также человек, которого собираются атаковать, может собрать свою гильдию для сражения после того, как ему объявят войну.
 
Вопрос: Существует ли сейчас система гильдий в игре?
Ответ: Конечно, и в старой системе были гильдии. Однако, члены гильдии не могли перемещаться вместе. На одном экране отображалось мало кораблей, и при вступлении в гильдию не было видно то, что происходит в других гильдиях. Теперь можно будет увидеть передвижения флота между гильдиями, и перемещения между членам гильдии будут обязательными.
 
Вопрос: Будут ли изменения в космическом пространстве?
Ответ: Базовое понятие космоса сохранено. Но поменяется концепция планет. Раньше игроки на планете отображались случайным образом. Поэтому нельзя было узнать, кто находится рядом, или, что они делают. В новую версию введена концепция точного местоположения, чтобы узнать, где находится союзник или враг. Это делает важным позиционирование. Так как ресурсы и дистанция между врагом отображаются в игре в зависимости от того, где вы находитесь. И игрокам придётся соперничать, чтобы занять хорошую позицию.
 
Вопрос: Почему важно занять хорошие позиции?
Ответ: Для сотрудничества с союзниками. Если мое местоположение близко к месту, где сосредоточены мои союзники, я могу быстро добраться до них. Также в зависимости от местоположения будут меняться возможности добычи и использования ресурсов. На планете есть рудники и места, где можно добыть и использовать ресурсы. Если эти места заняты игроками и npc, вам придётся победить их для того, чтобы добраться туда. Чем больше членов гильдии вместе, тем больше шансов.
 
Вопрос: Хотите что-нибудь сказать игрокам?
Ответ: Хотелось бы извиниться за то, что не оправдали ожиданий. Было много отзывов о том, что в битвах совсем не надо думать, и непонятно в чем увлекательность игры. Поэтому мы решили прислушаться к пользователям и сделать игру такой, где надо думать. Мы постараемся добиться большей популярности. Мы благодарим всех за проявленный интерес и надеемся увидеть вас всех и после обновления игры.

Firstly, we would like to thank all the players of Rogue Universe from the bottom of our hearts.
It has been about 3 months since Rogue Universe has been launched.
During that time, we have mulled over the question of whether we were providing a stellar experience for our users and tried our best to make the game as enjoyable as possible.
After much debate from the development team, we have come to the conclusion that instead of creating something new to add on to current Rogue Universe, we have decided to remake the game starting from its foundation system.
The changes will include aspects such as combat, mission, and even the way of crew recruitment and ship construction.

Focusing on improving the game’s basic system ###
 
Developing an entirely new basic system for the game will take a considerable amount of time and effort.
As much as we want to provide our players new content for an enjoyable gameplay, remaking basic system and developing new content concurrently will be difficult for us.
(We are a small company with 10 people on the development team)
Thus, our choice came down to our developers who have decided it would be best to focus on remaking the game's basic system.
The development will take at least 3 months and we hope to show our work to our players as soon as possible.
Until that time, there will be ongoing weekly events, and new features such as guild wars will be added after the new basic system has been updated.
We would like to apologize to our players who have been waiting for some time.

Server Initialization and Rewards ###
 
The upcoming update will come with changes in basic gameplay and even the level systems which will make it difficult to maintain current account information of our players.
We have also made a difficult decision to initialize all the accounts after the update.
We apologize to our players who are currently enjoying Rogue Universe. (The current server will run as usual until the update.)
1) If you have purchased anything, we will fully compensate your purchases through gems when you make a new account.
2) Depending how far a player has come in the game before the reset, we will also give out bonuses to your new account accordingly.

Pillaging Peril!

There you are in the Andromeda stellar system minding your own business when suddenly you receive a notification. Did your fleet finish their mission? Or maybe your research has finally completed? No… something isn’t right.
 
You’re about to be pillaged! Annihilated is one matter but pillaged is far worse for the resource scavenger such as yourself! How are you going to level up your Command Post if someone steals all your precious materials?
 
Well, now is the time to take action. There is little time left and you need to be prepared. But what should you do?
 
Option 1: Defend Your Loot
Before we take any immediate means of action maybe it’s worth considering who you’re defending against right? The only way to be pillaged is to have your defenses breached, meaning that if you have a defensive fleet powerful enough you’re safe! Make sure you have your best fleet defending your mothership to ensure the upmost security.
 
Of course, you might not be so lucky. Maybe the no-good pillager is significantly more powerful than you. Damn those early players! No chance of defending your turf? Well there’s another option:
 
Option 2: Shopping Spree?
Can’t steal what’s already spent right? Maybe take a moment to see what you can spend your resources on. Chances are there’s something you haven’t researched just yet. Or maybe there’s some ships/crew members that could use some upgrades? In any case there’s bound to be something for you to upgrade, purchase or discover. Sure, it might not be what you were saving up for, but now you’ve spent all that hard-earned resources for yourself! Not to mention you’re not giving away all your money to your enemy 😉
 
Okay but what do you do if you don’t have anywhere to spend your money? Well there’s still one more option for you:
 
Option 3: Bounce Outta the Planet
Did you know that leaving the planet you’re on cancels the attack? This works for annihilation too! Sometimes running away from your problems really is the best course of action. Just choose another planet in the system to enter and arrive there before your enemy pillages you. If you choose a location and deploy fast enough, you can evade your problems. Assert your lack of dominance!
 
Unfortunately, the last option only works if you have enough time to evade. If you don’t well… you’re gonna have to say good bye to that hard earned money. On the plus side you can always pillage some other people to make up for your losses! Unethical? Maybe. But it’s a Pirate’s life for me!

▣ More NPCs will appear on each planet
- Now various levels of Single NPCs will make an appearance and players will be able to attack more than one NPC on the planet simultaneously.
- The Single NPCs that you have defeated will disappear and all Single NPCs will be reset and appear again every hour.
- ※ Due to a change in database structures, your defeated NPC logs will be erased after this update.
 
▣ Improved menu configuration at the bottom of the main screen
- The previous Dock and Barracks menu has been merged to Ships & Crews. The new menu will open up a page that displays both Dock and Barracks menus.
- The Lab menu can be accessed directly on the bottom menu.
- Other menus not found on the bottom menu can be found on the Additional Menu.
 
 
▣ Scramble menu added to the bottom menu of the main screen
- The dispatching of ships for attacking other players, NPCs, and missions, as well as the newly added Deep Strike will all be found under the Scramble menu. (You can still continue to attack them as before)
- Players can attain 40 Honor Points for each attack against NPCs or other players up to 7 times a day.
 
 
▣ Deep Strike has been added
- A story mode where players defeat the enemies that appear while uncovering the hidden story of Rogue Universe.
- You can earn a lot of rewards when clearing special stages.
 
 
▣ Tutorial change
- When creating an account, the initial tutorial has become shorter and the given ships and crew members once the tutorial has been skipped or cleared has been changed.
 
▣ Barracks’ efficiency change
- The Crew Capacity for each level has been increased by 4.
 
▣ Miscellaneous UI Changes
- Players can dismantle multiple ships or release multiple crew members at once.
- When selecting your fleet for combat, the combat result predictions will now be displayed as Perfect, Win, Tie, or Lose.
- When selecting ‘Stabilize All’, all ships including ones that are already being stabilized will be stabilized.
- When selecting fleets for missions or combat, the fleets that cannot be changed or stabilized will not be shown.
- A short cut for the Mission Menu has been added to the Control Panel on the left side of the main screen.
- The Journey menu on the main screen has been improved for better visibility.

Когда порядок был установлен и тревога по поводу вымирания миновала, малые народы начали высказываться. Они утверждали, что "Новый маршрут" являлся для военных новым видом установления контроля. Восстание произошло на планете Вол, расположенной на окраине Галактики. Они называли себя "Черным Флагом" и незаконно заняли Звездные врата. Хотя военные отреагировали мгновенно, этого было недостаточно для подавления несогласных.
Оккупация Звездных врат заставила малые народы восстать. Если бы Черный Флаг захватил "Новый маршрут", наступила бы новая эра изоляций и самоуничтожения. Некоторые призывали военных законно распределить право собственности на "Новый маршрут", а некоторые народы присоединились к Черному Флагу.
Военные силы "U.N.S" объявили военное положение против захватчиков. Но гнев Черного Флага только усилился. С каждым днем все больше Звездных Наций объявляло о своем выходе из Союза. Только экономический союз, Цюрих Банк видели возможность заработать на всем этом. Никто не мог понять их истинных намерений.

Hello Commanders, this is the Dev team from Must Games.
 
We have been reading through your feedback and have focused on usability and interactions. We would like to let you in the loop of what we have been working on.
(Note: some of the following details may change without notice since some of these plans are still being developed.)

Guild Battles ##
 
A lot of commanders have suggested creating a system where guilds can battle against other guilds. We have gathered your requests and ideas and we are currently developing content for guild battles.
 
We will start with a basic guild battle format and progressively develop them into a bigger scale. The following points are the gist of what we had in mind.
 
• Guilds can declare war on each other and the two guilds will be in battle for a fixed period of time.
 
• Guilds that are in battle with each other will receive additional Honor points for pillaging or annihilating other players which will help with inflicting a lot of damage to your enemies.
 
• The guild that is able to inflict more damage and satisfy the requirements before the battle time runs out, will be the battle winner and receive a special reward.

Story and Challenge Factors ##
 
The dev team have prepared a lot of strategies to present the world of Rogue Universe to you commanders. The first thing we would like to show you is ‘Deep strike’.
 
Deep strike is a story mode where you can cooperate with various characters in the game while also trailblazing the routes that are occupied by the ‘Invaders’. Defeat enemies that grow stronger and uncover secrets of Rogue Universe.

Single NPC Changes ##
 
Defeating Single NPCs have become tedious like homework until now. The dev team wanted to make fighting Single NPCs more enjoyable so we have come up with the following changes.
 
• A variety of different level NPCs will appear at random on each planet according to your recommended level.
 
• Among the variety of NPCs, a distinctive NPC may also appear. The stronger they are, the more rewards you will reap. And every once in a while, you might discover a NPC carrying valuable treasures.
 
• The limit on attacking Single NPCs has been lifted so players can attack multiple Single NPCs at once.
 
 
##
Other Improvements ##
 
In addition to the large changes, the dev team will also work on usability and balancing as follows.
 
• The essential menus that were spread apart will be organized into two categories, ‘Development’ and ‘Assemble Fleet’. Furthermore, we will also improve the Task Management menu. We are working towards building a UI that will be easier to use so players can manage various tasks without going through many steps.
 
• Ship balancing is underway. Battle-type ships and mission-type ships will have a significant difference in stats, and the stats of ships will be modified more appropriately according to the grade of the ships.

The Tale of McClain


Stellar Year 21043. A streamlined mothership is cruising between stellar systems. Inside the mothership, in the physical scanning room surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, a young woman in her 20s is running on a treadmill. She had several sensors on her body which were hooked up to a screen that displayed the data. She was second lieutenant McClain of the U.N.S military. She looked impressive as she ran on the treadmill in a compression suit, her fierce eyes faced forward however, she was deep in thought about her father who had been MIA for a long time.
Her father’s name was Colin. He was a navigator. In an effort to overcome the crisis a long time ago, he volunteered for the pioneer efforts New Route Expedition set forth by the U.N.S. General Commander San Martin. 5 new routes were discovered and he was awarded a medal for the best Navigator. However, in the same year after McClain’s birth, her father set out for his 6th expedition and they lost contact with him. McClain’s mother set out on her own to find her husband and she was never heard from again.
Before McClain had become a year old, she had become an orphan. She was resentful of her parents who had left the world far too early. McClain was scared of the ‘New Route’ that had stolen her parents away. After a difficult time during puberty, McClain learned how to handle her misfortune.
When McClain became of age, she enrolled in the U.N.S. Military Academy and requested to be a guard at the ‘Stargate’, the entrance to the New Route. Today marked a year since she was commissioned as a second lieutenant. Coincidentally, she was on the way to arrest members of the Black Flag for illegally occupying the Stargate. There was a ping that let McClain know that her physical was finished. McClain slowed down on the treadmill and wiped the sweat from her face. The results read ‘excellent’. McClain was pleased with her results and headed to the showers.
 
Moments later, McClain enters the mission room in combat uniform and sat at a desk. Her desk was covered with wanted posters of the resistance members. McClain loaded a battery module onto her electric gun and holstered it to her hip. Suddenly, the desk screen caught McClain’s eyes. A U.N.S. military broadcast was on. They had released the identities of the people illegally occupying the Stargate. McClain held back her tongue as she filled with anger when she saw the images of the rebel army. At her condition, she could shoot all the rebels and still have energy left. This mission was not to shoot on sight but to capture the rebels instead. Then, an android commander, AI called McClain.
 
“Second Lieutenant McClain. We picked up some strange readings by the boosters and would like to give you a report.”
“What is it?”
“Do you mind if you could come this way?”
 
With a look of suspicion on her face, McClain got up from her seat. Her eyes followed the trail of hexagonal metal scraps. It was an ancient piece of technology that has been traveling in space called the UNO. AI showed McClain that she had to see for herself with her own eyes. UNO was made before the founding of the New Route and all of the new route coordinates were already stored in the hard drive. McClain couldn’t believe what she was hearing. It meant that when her father was on his expedition, he had already secured all of the new routes. She asked as her voice shook.
 
“Are you sure the data hasn’t been damaged from all that time in space?”
“I suspected that as well but you can see that it has been getting live updates from the U.N.S. headquarters”
 
It was as if she was hit with a ton of bricks. AI's voice sounded like a bullet had gone off. What was even more surprising was that the last docked place was at San Martin’s personal Mothership, the General Commander who started the expedition for the New Route. McClain was in shock. ‘If he had already known and found those routes, why did he gather all these people?’. Her mind raced. ‘Did my parents die in vain? But why?’. The voice of the commander from the speakers pierced through the silence. It was an alert that there were 25 minutes left until they arrived at the battle scene and the combatants should change into their combat suits. McClain was blank and didn’t know what to do and AI approached her.
 
“Lieutenant.”
She came to and ordered AI,
“AI, I want you to sync your information processor with the main data storage.”
“Could you repeat that, ma’am?”
“I said to connect to the data storage!”
“Lieutenant, I need a code from a superior to authorize this”
“I’ll take care of it, just sync the data”
“This is a breach of military law. Connecting to the headquarters.”
 
When AI tried to communicate with the headquarters, McClain hesitated. Her fingertips twitched as they hovered above her electric gun. In the blink of an eye, she aimed her gun at AI. BANG! With a flash of white, the CPU located at the top of AI was destroyed and it was deactivated. McClain looks out the window. Several hundred warships were moving towards the orbit. In the distance, the Stargate shone brightly. The gate was set ablaze from the Black Flag’s attack. Everything was in chaos.

-Reputation shop will display level of U.N.S., Zurich Bank, and Black Flag.

-Holding each Stella from Galaxy View will show a Stella Info screen that displays its Specialties, required Resolve Score, and list of Single NPCs.
 
- When there are tasks completed that need confirmation, clicking “Confirm All” button from Task Progress will complete with one click.

- BGM bugs at the completion of construction has been fixed.
- Russian language has been fit to pop up window.
- A stabilization issue that happens to players who researched Utility Ship Max Stability (starting at lv.16) has been fixed.
