10.10 Patch Notes
This week's patch finally looks to address some of the champions that haven't seen any changes for a while. Katarina is finally getting a nerf (albeit a small one) and Irelia getting buffs means that we might start seeing her take over at higher elos.
For all the details be sure to check out the official patch notes below:

The Clash Experience in League of Legends
Considering two years it took to get Clash up and running without any bugs or hiccups, I can safely say that League of Legend's 5v5 tournament mode you play with a pre-made team was worth the wait in most ways I would have wanted. But the game mode has brought on some personal epiphanies regarding League of Legends and what the proper way to play it is.
You see, before I had played Clash, I always imagined solo-queue as the 'practice mode' for League. You play in solo queue to get better, and subsequently rise in the ranks. You can use your skill to get noticed by professional teams, if you really are that good, or you can simply aim for a higher rank each split. But I never considered it the 'proper' way to play League.
To me, the true League experience is being a part of a team that has substitutes and practices regularly. Obviously most readers will assume this is a situation that only the pro's experience, but I'd tell you to look at college teams and high-school clubs to find out just how common this sort of thing is, though I'll digress to my original point.
This team-oriented experience has always stuck itself in my mind as the premiere form of League and the only way to truly create moments that make the game as beautiful in a 5v5 scenario as it can be. And I still believe this, but what Clash has taught me is that simply playing with five of your friends on communications is NOT the average Joe's answer to finding that elusive teamwork experience. Just the opposite.
Clash with four of your friends is like solo-queue, but with a little rotten spice only some of the time. Teammates still int, but you can hear them tilting over the microphone. You're likely to get a team of mixed skill levels, meaning you have to play around your anchor, just like in solo-queue. You have to worry about ping being sporadic, teammates not showing up for matches, and your manners to boot. After all, you just committed to playing for a team that has to use a bronze midlaner as a sub, you'd prefer to just go and practice in solo-queue at this point, if you're anything like me, but it would be a tool move to do such a thing, so you play out the tournament with a headache from the microphones echoing words into your head over and over again to boot.
This is painting Clash in a negative light, I understand. I also understand that this example has nothing to do with the game mode and everything to do with the theoretical team you play it with, but you should understand that I could do a similar skit dissing with different descriptions dissing on solo-queue and everyone would likely find it completely plausible: "inting teammates, flaming in chat, soft-inters, afker's, win traders, etc etc."
My point being that just because the four people you're playing with are people you know, doesn't mean that the League experience is going to change all that much. I personally think that this flaw in Clash's design is in a couple of key area's. Firstly, Clash is designed to be a timed event that you can only participate in on a specific day at a specific time. That's fine, except that Riot doesn't want Clash to be a season long event. They don't even want it to extend beyond one weekend, meaning that the motivation for a team to practice together starts and ends with a weekend's worth of games together.
Obviously the time required for a team to practice together consistently for the sake of a season long tournament structure is far beyond what most casual league players are willing to commit to, and thus Riot opted for a tournament structure that is time consuming on the night, but doesn't extend beyond the scope of a single day so as to draw more players in to the game mode.
The side effect of this is simply that people take Clash less seriously than the solo-queue counterpart because of the short-termed nature of the tournaments, meaning a player like me who was hoping for a more traditional sports-like months of commitment to a set group of players who practice together need to look elsewhere for the competitive team coordination.
Clash is an experience that lends itself to a good group of friends who want to play in a low stakes tournament with voice comms without really needing to commit to using a lot of their in the same way solo-queue can demand.
Its a fun mode that puts a much more personal tint on the competition while giving the players a taste of what team-oriented drafting in tandem with targeted bans and counter picks looks like. It's a step in the right direction for Riot Game's to solidify their place as top dogs in the E-sports scene, and I hope they move forward with giving their client more tournament support so that we might see official community made tournaments sprout up for amateur players to make a name for themselves.

Looking for a mid laner
I was just wondering if there were any mid laners here who are looking for a jungle main to duo with? I usually play recreationally but I’ve been getting into ranked lately and I’ve managed to reach bronze 1 and skipped a few ranks along the way. I’ve been a jungle main ever since I started this game (about 4 years). I’m a Warwick main but I also play tanky junglers like sejuani and nunu when I need to. I also main rek sai but I’m better at Warwick at the moment. I would say my skill level in the jungle is high silver to low gold. My friends are all plat and above and I’ve been playing with them for years and learned a lot from them. Dm me if interested(:

Ahh fuck forgot abt this
A crap guide to lol
jungles are people who get les in jungle and come to gank you when your in lane there are always 2 people in bot a sup (support) and adc (attack damage carry) and top is where I always play, alone maybe a support but very rarely. in mid your always alone which I am also at. Lantern is your 4 button always place them so you don't get ganked I always put mine near river in top and bot, in mid laneput them in the bushes on top or bottom of your lane now your ability depends for each campion you play but if your a mordekaiser or thresh main always max out your q first by that I mean at least have one point in everything else then max q also at lvl 6 you can put a lvl in your ult so yea keep that in mind also your spells and runes depend on each champion as well I suggest the mobafire on Google for your bulid, spells, and runes also did I mention that jungleing is like really really hard so learn it now bc people at your elo don't know how to jungle so good luck and have fun

Learning to Play Jungle in League of Legends
The Jungler on a League of Legends team is most directly comparable to a goalkeeper on a football team: Both can single handedly win the match for their team with a good performance, or lose the game with one slip up. Both, also, are extremely different from the rest of the positions in their respective games.
If you can play Center Midfield in Football, you won’t have a hard time transitioning to center back or center forward. But goalkeeper? Forget about it. The same is true for a mid laner and a jungler in League of Legends. The two roles are in the same game, but couldn’t be more different from one another. And this has been the biggest learning curve for me as I transitioned into the jungle one week ago.
Queue times were high, and I found myself getting auto-filled into Jungle very often so I thought “What the heck, why not?”. If I could learn to play jungle, a role scarce of mains, ill kill two birds with one stone, essentially, right? Yep, and create a whole lotta birds with no stones in sight.
Queue times are 7 seconds, I never get autofilled, and I constantly find myself in situations where I realize just how trash I am at this game. I assumed my years of mid and top lane experience would be sure enough to smooth the transition process over into a happy LP gaining party.
Boyo’s leme tell ya, I was very oh so incredibly incorrect, and spartacus! One aspect of the role I never really considered too much was the jungle pathing. Apparently every jungler has a set ‘optimal’ path to clear his or her jungle out, and I mean, that part is obvious. But I never considered how competent junglers have to shift that clear out to take advantage (or avoid) the enemy jungler’s pathing. It's all very difficult to memorize, just like how learning a laning phase’s matchups in the mid or top lane can be time consuming and changes from champion to champion.
This led me to play Olaf, a hyper carrying early game champion that has the quickest clears of any jungler and excels in pushing early game leads with his high damage, cc avoiding R, and quick objective and camp clears. This way, I’m always the fastest objective taking champ in the game pre-15 minutes and I don’t have to guess whether or not I can contest an early scuttle because the answer is always ‘to action!’
And just as I fell in love with mid lane’s cs battles and priority mindgames, I’m finding that taking first drake, herald and tower are all aspects of the jungler role that keep me consistently queueing up as the goalkeeper of League, and has helped me develop an appreciation for the role as a whole.
The jungler has to play perfectly all game or he risks losing the match. The jungler has to keep track not only of his respective opponent, but also every teammate and their opponents as well. Every state of every lane, every camp respawn timer, every objective, every state of vision control, and themselves encompass the responsibility every jungler puts on his or her shoulders. All of that, and the assumption that they will ragged in chat if they don’t gank every Tom, Dick, and Harry who can’t control their own lane. In fact, they will probably be ragged anyway. So to those jungler mains out there who queue up in the most under appreciated and weighty roles in the game, I salute you.
