The Daily Moot: Fall Guys
1. Fall Guys
Fall Guys has officially launched. The multiplayer free-for-all party game has been an immediate success, garnering hundreds of thousands of day-one downloads and reaching over 350,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch. Unfortunately, the servers weren’t quite prepared for the influx of eager players which has led to widespread performance issues. Things seem to be running smoothly now, but it’s reasonable to expect a bit of turbulence as Devolver Digital works to get everything in order on launch day. Fall Guys is available now on PlayStation Plus and Steam; you can check out the launch trailer for the game below.
2. Overwatch Summer Games
The 2020 edition of the Overwatch Summer Games is here. As expected, Lucioball is back once again to provide you with all the Overwatch soccer action you’ve been missing. This year features a twist on the game mode with Lucioball Remix. Lucioball Remix is faster and more hectic than the original mode, featuring 2 balls in play instead of just one. The 2020 Overwatch Summer Games are set to run from now until August 26.
3. Baldur’s Gate 3 Delay
Baldur’s Gate 3 has been delayed. Developer Larian Studios had been targeting an August release date for the early access version of the game, but it unfortunately seems that progress hasn’t come along quite as quickly as the team was hoping for. Although early access won’t be available in August, Larian Studios has promised that the game is “just around the corner” and said that the official release date along with other “big news” will be revealed during their “Panel From Hell” event on August 18.
4. Blasphemous Expansion
The action-platformer/metroidvania Blasphemous has received a massive expansion. The update, which is called Stir of Dawn, greatly increases the scope of the game by adding new areas, bosses, and even a new storyline. It seems that much of the content is geared towards players who have already played Blasphemous as the new Stir of Dawn bosses are expected to provide the most challenging fights in the game. The Stir of Dawn expansion is available now and is free for all players who own the base game of Blasphemous.
5. Red Dead Online Alligators
Alligators have now made their way to the Wild West. Red Dead Online’s recent Naturalist update introduced a new hunting-themed aspect to the game which enables players to track down animals and become either conservationists or poachers. Regardless of which path you take, you’ll now be able to test your skills by hunting the legendary “Teca” and “Sun” gators, both of which will grant extra experience and rewards this week.
The Daily Moot: Call of Duty Season 5; Fortnite Cars
1. Modern Warfare Season 5
Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone is here. Warzone’s Verdansk got some pretty massive changes, opening the Stadium for players to explore and establishing a new area called the Train Station. Along with the Train Station, there are now moving freight trains on the map that players can hop on to in order to “escape the gas, take a load off, or get to a new location stealthier, without the noise of a vehicle engine.” Modern Warfare also got its fair share of updates with 4 new maps coming to the rotation: Livestock, Verdansk International Airport, Petrov Oil Rig, and Suldal Harbor. Check out the official trailer for Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 below.
2. Fortnite Cars
Fortnite’s cars have finally arrived. As part of the new Joy Ride update, cars have been spread across the map, enabling players to hop on in and take them for a spin. There are a total of 4 different vehicle types that you can drive, each with their own advantages and disadvantages: the Islander Prevalent (sedan), Victory Motors Whiplash (sports car), OG Bear (pickup truck), and Titano Mudflap (big rig truck). The cars even include radio stations featuring songs from artists such as Drake, Ariana Grande, and Lady Gaga, allowing players to slaughter their enemies to a soundtrack. The Joy Ride update is live now; you can check out the trailer below.
3. Ninja Returns to Twitch
Ninja has returned to Twitch, at least temporarily. In an impromptu event with fellow streamer Dr Lupo, Ninja held his first Twitch stream since he left the platform for Mixer in a blockbuster deal last year. After Mixer’s shutdown last month, it was unclear which streaming service Ninja would sign to. He’s now streamed on both YouTube and Twice since the Mixer collapse, but considering that he reportedly made $30M from his short time at Mixer, Ninja can likely take his time with the decision and enjoy free agency a bit longer.
4. BlizzCon 2021
Blizzard has confirmed that BlizzCon 2021 will be happening next year. After BlizzCon 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic, it was unclear whether or not Blizzard would try to hold a digital replacement this year. We now know that 2020’s event has been cancelled completely and that BlizzCon 2021 will be a digital event held early next year. No official date has been announced yet, but Blizzard says they “want to do this” as soon as possible.
5. Take-Two Next-Gen Game Pricing
Take-Two Interactive has released an official statement regarding their next-gen game pricing. After previously being one of the first publishers to announce plans for a $70 retail price with the next-gen version of NBA 2K20, Take-Two is now saying that the policy won’t be universal and that they’ll be determining pricing on “a title by title basis.” This backtracking could be in response to other publishers, such as Ubisoft, who have committed to maintaining the $60 price tag for next-gen games at launch. We’ll have to wait and see exactly how Take-Two approaches the situation, but considering that they own major players such as 2K and Rockstar Games, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on because the company’s actions could have a lot of influence in the industry.

The Daily Moot: Free Games and PS Exclusives
1. Marvel’s Avengers PS Exclusives
Marvel’s Avengers will apparently be getting even more PlayStation exclusives. Just days after the announcement that Spider-Man will be released as a free DLC character exclusive to PlayStation, it seems there is even more good news for Sony fans. Whenever a new hero gets released in Marvel’s Avengers, all PlayStation players will get “a month of exclusive access to an outfit, emote, takedown and nameplate,” with PS Plus subscribers getting even more benefits on top of that. Marvel’s Avengers is set to launch on September 7.
2. Epic Freebies
Another week of freebies from Epic Games is here. This week’s free games are 3 Out of 10 and Wilmot’s Warehouse. You can grab your free copies of these games directly from the Epic Games Store from now until August 13. As long as you claim the games by August 13, they will stay in your library forever.
3. Reckful Added to WoW
Blizzard has added Reckful to World of Warcraft in order to pay respects to the late streamer. Reckful, who initially rose to prominence with his high-level Rogue play, will now live on as a Rogue Trainer NPC who you can talk to in World of Warcraft’s Cathedral of Light. Although Blizzard has been in their fair share of hot water recently, this is certainly a very welcome gesture from the company.
4. Mortal Shell
Mortal Shell finally has an official release date. The upcoming action-RPG got more than 5 million views on Twitch during its brief closed beta last month and players have been eager for more information about the game’s launch ever since. We now know that Mortal Shell will be arriving very soon on August 18 and that it will be available on PS4 and Xbox One, and on PC as an Epic Games Store exclusive. You can check out the all-new release date trailer for Mortal Shell below.
5. FIFA Goal Celebrations Removed
EA has removed some of their goal celebrations from the upcoming FIFA 21. The “Shush” and “A-Ok” celebrations have both been permanently removed from the game due to their usage in “toxic behaviors.” For example, the Shush celebration could be used to waste time and stall the game by spamming the emote. FIFA 21 is set to launch on October 9; you can check out the newly released gameplay trailer for the game below.
The Daily Moot: Rainbow Six Siege: MUTE Protocol
1. Rainbow Six Siege: Mute Protocol
Rainbow Six Siege is getting an all-new limited time event called Mute Protocol. Taking place on a reskinned version of Tower, Mute Protocol features a cyberpunk version of Siege with a showdown between attacking hackers and teleporting cyber defenders. There will be 41 different operators to choose from in the game mode, with the rest being excluded for “gameplay reasons.” Rainbow Six Siege: Mute Protocol is set to kick off tomorrow and will last until August 17; you can check out the trailer for the event below.
2. Valorant Act 2
Riot Games has announced Valorant Act 2, a massive update which will bring a host of welcome changes to the game. The most notable improvement will undoubtedly be the addition of the new Deathmatch game mode, a 10-player free-for-all showdown with infinite money and no abilities. Deathmatch should provide the perfect opportunity for players to test out new guns and refine their aiming skills without having to worry about objectives or respawn times. Act 2 will also introduce a new agent, battle pass, and skin line to the game, so there’s plenty to look forward to even if Deathmatch doesn’t interest you. Valorant Act 2 is set to kick off tomorrow, with its Deathmatch mode arriving one day later on August 5.
3. Sony State of Play
Sony has announced their next State of Play showcase. Before you get your hopes up, Sony has already confirmed that there will be “no big PS5 announcements” during the showcase. Instead the event will focus strictly on games, with a particular emphasis on third-party and indie titles. Sony’s State of Play event is expected to last about 40 minutes and will take place on August 6 at 1pm PT.
4. Monster Crown
Monster Crown has now entered early access. The game, which was crowdfunded in 2018 via Kickstarter, is best described as a cross between Pokemon and Dragon Quest Monsters but with a darker, more mature story than its muses. The early access version contains about one-third of the content planned for the finished version of the game, which the developers expect will take “anywhere from 6 to 12 months” to complete. Monster Crown early access is available on Steam now; you can check out the trailer for the game below.
5. Marvel’s Avengers Spider-Man
Spider-Man has been confirmed for the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers. Unfortunately for Xbox fans however, Spider-Man will only be released as a PlayStation exclusive. Although Spider-Man won’t be available when Marvel’s Avengers first launches, Sony will be giving the character away for free to all PlayStation users who own the base game via a future DLC. While this is certainly a sting for Xbox players, PlayStation fans will no doubt rejoice about getting such a highly desired character completely free of charge.
The Daily Moot: Apex Legends Season 6 Trailer
1. Apex Legends Season 6 Trailer
Apex Legends Season 6 is almost here and it’ll be adding some pretty big changes to the battle royale. Specifically, Season 6 will introduce crafting to the game. It’s still unclear exactly how crafting will work, but the new mechanic coincides with Apex’s upcoming new Legend, Rampart, who is described in her bio as an “expert modder who made her name in underground fight clubs.” Rampart and Apex Legends Season 6 are set to arrive on August 18; you can check out the launch trailer for the upcoming season below.
2. Suicide Squad Game Confirmed
Rocksteady Studios has officially announced that they are making a Suicide Squad game. This confirms rumors of the game’s development which have been circulating for a few months now. Rocksteady is best known as the team behind the Arkham series of Batman games, so it’ll be interesting to see how they craft a more villainous type of gameplay. Although very few details about the Suicide Squad game have been released yet, we can expect more information to be revealed at the upcoming DC FanDome event on August 22.
3. Braid: Anniversary Edition
Braid will soon be getting a “hand-repainted” anniversary edition remake. Braid, which was first released in 2008, was solo developed by Jonothan Blow and is largely credited as a catalyst for gaming community’s widespread interest in indie games today. Aside from the hand-repainted graphics and improved visuals, the anniversary edition will also expand the game as well as introduce new features. Braid: Anniversary Edition is set to launch sometime in 2021; check out the game's announcement trailer below.
4. Hearthstone: Scholomance Academy
Hearthstone: Scholomance Academy is now live. The latest expansion to the digital CCG, Scholomance Academy introduces 135 new cards to the game, 40 of which are Dual-Class cards that feature a new mechanic called “Spellburst.” Spellburst enables players to take advantage of mechanics that are unique to classes other than their own, such as using Mage spells in a Shaman deck. All players who log into Hearthstone before October 27 will get a free legendary card from the expansion, with an additional 6 card packs up for grabs by completing the Scholomance Academy quests.
5. Spelunky 2 Release Date
Spelunky 2 now has an official release date. Developer Derek Yu had been pretty silent about the game since he first announced it back in 2017, but he finally revealed some new information about the sequel during Sony’s State of Play event. Derek Yu explained his desire to make the world of Spelunky 2 “feel much more rich and dynamic than Spelunky 1,” as well as increase the accessibility of the game while maintaining its high degree of difficulty. Spelunky 2 is set to launch on PS4 on September 15, with a PC launch coming shortly thereafter as Yu said he needs “a little extra time to iron out online multiplayer on PC.” You can check out the State of Play release date trailer for Spelunky 2 below.
We have also added new Apex Legends badges! Read more about them here:
The Daily Moot: First Look at PlayStation 5's DualSense Controller
1. PS5 Controller Revealed
The PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller has officially been revealed. Although renditions of the controller had previously appeared in images, this is the first time we’ve seen it in real life and side by side to the PS4’s DualShock controller. One thing immediately stands out: the PS5’s DualSense is much, much larger than its predecessor. Aside from the new controller reveal, Sony also addressed rumors of PS5 pre-orders by assuring fans that pre-orders “won’t be a surprise.” This means that everybody who wants to pre-order the new console will have ample time to do so and should have no trouble securing their PlayStation 5 on launch.
2. No New Mario Characters
The dev team behind Paper Mario: Origami King just revealed something rather shocking: the characters within the Mario universe are set in stone. All new characters must be standalone within their game and any established Mario characters can’t be changed in any way. Nintendo veteran developer Kensuke Tanabe said very clearly that “it's no longer possible to modify Mario characters or to create original characters that touch on the Mario Universe.” As such, original characters like Origami King’s Olly will not be appearing in any other Mario games in the future. It’s unclear if Nintendo would ever consider changing this policy, but for now it certainly seems unlikely.
3. Remnant: From the Ashes Subject 2923
The final DLC for Remnant: From the Ashes has been revealed. Called Subject 2923, the expansion will finally bring closure to the mystery of the Remnant and explain its origins. Taking place after the events of the main game, the upcoming DLC will introduce plenty of new content including 2 new explorable biomes and a new campaign story. Remnant: From the Ashes Subject 2923 is set to arrive on August 20; check out the reveal trailer below.
4. US Army Breaks Twitch Rules
The US Army has been reprimanded by Twitch for running a fake giveaway and violating Twitch’s terms of service. A recent Twitch stream by the US Army included a supposed giveaway for an Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, but the “giveaway” link that the stream spammed and promoted was actually a link to a US Army recruitment form. Twitch’s official statement regarding the issue said, “This promotion did not comply with our Terms, and we have required them to remove it." It’s unclear if any further action will be taken, but Twitch has previously shown no fear in banning high-profile users.
5. Paradox Acquires Iceflake Studios
Paradox Interactive has acquired Iceflake Studios. Iceflake Studios is best known as the developer behind Surviving the Aftermath and, following the acquisition of Plarion Game Studio just two weeks ago, now becomes the second studio Paradox has purchased this month. Paradox Interactive is clearly looking to make big moves in the near future as the publisher now has 9 internal studios under its umbrella.
The Daily Moot: Fortnite Diplo Collaboration Ends
1. Fortnite Diplo Higher Ground
Today marks the final day of Diplo’s collaboration with Fortnite. Diplo has served as Fortnite’s resident DJ for the past few months, and he finished off his tenure with today’s “Higher Ground” concert which Epic describes as a “deep house musical show featuring trance-inducing, sophisticated beats.” The event also introduced plenty of new concert-themed cosmetics, including new skins which change color in response to music. Epic will be holding a rerun of the concert on August 3 and the cosmetic goodies will be available until August 1.
2. Halo Infinite F2P Multiplayer
More news has been released about the upcoming Halo Infinite. Most notably, Halo Infinite’s online multiplayer mode will apparently be free to play. Although nothing has been confirmed, it seems that this offer will extend not only to Xbox Series X players, but PC and Xbox One players as well. The sources also state that the game will be able to achieve 120 FPS on the Xbox Series X which should definitely be a welcome improvement over the standard 30 to 60 FPS gameplay of the Xbox One. Halo Infinite is set to launch this holiday season.
3. Epic Games Store Achievements
The Epic Games Store has finally received some much-needed improvements. Game achievements, by far one of the most widely requested features from users, will finally be making their way to the storefront. The new system will allow users to track and display their achievements and is already rolling out for some games. Epic has also started to add mod support to certain games, which should finally pave the way for players to enjoy more mod-heavy titles on the platform.
4. Star Wars: Squadrons News
EA has revealed some promising new information about the upcoming Star Wars: Squadrons. The fantasy spacecraft dogfighting game will only cost $40 instead of the expected $60 or even $70 asking price. EA explained the decision by saying Squadrons doesn’t have a huge scale and is entirely focused on providing “access to as many people as possible who had that Star Wars fantasy to fly an X-Wing fighter or TIE Fighter, and be in a dogfight.” They also mentioned that the game won’t have any microtransactions despite the low price, and that the game will come included with plenty of cosmetic options for free.
5. New Battletoads Game
A new Battletoads game is on the way. Battletoads is easily one of the most legendary games of all time but it’s been over 25 years since the last edition came out. More info about the upcoming Battletoads will likely be revealed in the near future, but the game does appear to be a Microsoft exclusive as only PC and Xbox One versions have been confirmed so far. The new Battletoads is expected to launch on August 20; check out the official trailer below.
The Daily Moot: Hyper Scape Season 1 & Console Release
1. Hyper Scape Season 1
Season 1 of Hyper Scape has officially been announced. Not only will the inaugural season introduce plenty of new content to the game, it will also mark the launch of Hyper Scape on PS4 and Xbox One. Hyper Scape will be free to play for all players and Season 1 is set to arrive on August 11; check out the Season 1 announcement trailer below.
2. Cyberpunk Beta Scams
CD Projekt Red has announced that there will be no public betas for Cyberpunk 2077. This announcement comes as a warning against scams which have been falsely offering beta access to the game via Twitter messages and emails. Although a beta is out of the picture, we should be getting more information about the game soon as the second episode of Night City Wire is expected to arrive in the near future. As of right now, Cyberpunk 2077 is set to launch on November 19.
3. Epic Freebies
Another week of freebies courtesy of Epic Games is here. This week is a big one with 3 free games up for grabs: 20XX, Barony, and Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcercy. You can grab your free copies of these games directly from the Epic Games Store from now until August 6. As long as you claim the games by August 6, they will stay in your library forever.
4. Splinter Cell Animated Series
Splinter Cell will soon be transformed into a Netflix animated series. A collaboration between Ubisoft and Netflix, the series is expected to have Derek Kolstad, who is known as the writer of the John Wick movies, as its head writer and executive producer. Although no premiere date has been announced yet, the show has already been booked for a second season so there should be plenty of Splinter Cell action to look forward to.
5. Total War DLC
The Total War games will soon be getting a ton of DLC. Total War Saga: Troy is set to arrive on August 13 and once the game launches, Creative Assembly will be releasing expansion after expansion. Total War Saga: Troy will be getting 2 expansions in September and October with multiplayer then launching in November, while Total War: Three Kingdoms and Warhammer 2 will also be getting DLC of their own. Much of the DLC will be available for free for players who are signed up to Total War Access, which is also free.

Getting name changes from leveling up is dumb and here’s why.
It’s simple, high level users have to grind their asses off to level up ONCE which grants only one name change. Level 30+ users have to grind through well over 100K XP. Just make the name changes buyable with coins or literally anything else.
When I try to post a video clip it doesn’t upload
😓just was trying to post a fort clip
Anyone know why I can’t post YouTube videos on Valorant or Rainbow Six Siege pages?
I can post questions and other things, but not YouTube links!
The Daily Moot: CES 2021 Cancelled
1. CES 2021 Cancelled
CES 2021 has been cancelled. One of the largest annual tech shows in the world, CES will not be taking place in Las Vegas next year. Instead, organizers are planning a digital replacement for the event, which is known for producing high-profile product announcements from companies like Nvidia, AMD, and Intel. No date for the digital replacement of CES 2021 has been announced yet, but we do know that the show will take place sometime in January. Organizers plan to return the event to Las Vegas in 2022.
2. Rainbow Six Siege Patch Delayed
Today’s planned patch for Rainbow Six Siege has been delayed. Ubisoft released a statement saying that “due to unforeseen circumstances,” the patch would be postponed to a “later date.” The patch was set to buff Gridlock, Orxy, and Fuze as well as provide some small mechanical changes to how Nomad's airjabs and Oryx's dash work with walls. It’s unclear when the patch will now arrive, but we’ll likely get some more info in the coming days.
3. Red Dead Online Naturalist Update
A huge new update is coming to Red Dead Online, bringing massive changes to the game. Called the Naturalist update, the latest patch introduces a new role and frontier pursuit called the Naturalist. As Naturalists, players can hunt down new legendary animals to study them or alternatively slay the beasts for their legendary pelts. Despite having multiple options, players will have to commit to either a lethal or non-lethal approach for their Naturalist campaigns as the Conservationists won’t do business with poachers. The Naturalist update is set to hit Red Dead Online live servers later today.
4. Cuphead on PS4
Cuphead is now available on PS4. Developer MDHR decided to launch the game as a surprise release, shouting out the “impassioned PlayStation fans” who have long been hoping for a PS port. Despite the PlayStation announcement, MDHR also mentioned that they are “hugely thankful to the wonderful team at Xbox” and said the Xbox version of the game will be receiving a free update which will introduce “a digital art gallery, behind-the-scenes commentary features, and playable soundtrack to the game.”
5. Eiyuden Chronicle
Eiyuden Chronicle, a spiritual successor to Suikoden, is now coming to fruition. The game is being developed by a team composed entirely of the original Suikoden developers and will feature many elements that were mainstays in the classic series. In order to fund development, Eiyuden Chronicle started a Kickstarter campaign which demolished its $500,000 goal in just 2 hours and has now raised over $1.5M in less than a day. With development ready to commence, Eiyuden Chronicle is set to launch in October 2022.
