I finally did it.

I uninstalled Artifact. It was like unplugging the life support from a family member that you only saw a few times when you were a kid. Then they moved to Kansas and only contacted you to try and get you involved in a pyramid scheme.

Waiting On A Better Artifact
if you were one of the people curious about artifact then read this article by artifact that might help with some context with what happen... And I might as well give attention to this person who keeps trying to people the community and in it for the long haul...
B3HArtifact has done a lot to save the artifact competitive scene and still trying to today... He as tournaments from now til the end of December... Idk, why he does this, but he loves the game as well as in it for the long haul....
This podcast already has 12 episodes surprising have an interviewed with one of the creators of this game I'm impressed... They do earn that podcast title...
So yeah, even though not many people play the game since launch anymore, there is still a small following, and community... Surely this game has it's flaws but some of those people are playing it today...
So yeah, I kinda wish more people got to play this game instead of getting trapped behind this Pay 2 Play (P2P) wall... it is what it is... As of now, I'll wait for it to come again, other will too and by then It should be worth the wait...

No More Post Not Relating To Artifact, Let It Rest In Peace...

Sadly the hype for Artifact had died down, the peak fan base won't be back any time soon, There is a post where they touch on the state of the game, if your interested in knowing then it's the next post after this... Suck to not see this game not meet up with the expectations it was has aiming for for a Online Trading Card Game (OTCG) but to some people, it had its good moments... Since I'm the only mod to lurks here and there on this Lounge, if I see any random post that don't relate to artifact at all then I will move that post to Off Topic myself, don't waste a post here if you know it's not about this game... Rest in Peace Artifact, yo gave moment some good moments throughtout your presence of arrival, Hopefully you rise like a phoenix and come back better...

Valve’s Artifact has lost 97% of Playerbase in 2 Months

To say Artifact is struggling would be an understatement. The game was incredibly hyped before it released, as it is a digital card game from a partnership between the creator of Magic: the Gathering and one of the biggest gaming companies in history. However, almost immediately after release we saw issues with Artifact. The game is exceedingly complex to play or watch and has a frustrating economical model. Valve certainly hasn’t given up on Artifact yet, but it sure seems like the gaming community at large has.

Valve Changes Artifact Balance Philosophy, Nerfs Expensive Cards

Valve previously stated they would never tweak cards aside from some rare exceptions, but they’ve changed their stance. An update that came out yesterday changed eight cards, including some of the most prominent ones. Axe, the game’s most expensive card, has been nerfed slightly. If you bought any of the cards in Artifact that have been nerfed, you can sell it back to valve for its peak price 24 hours before the nerf announcement. Kind of neat. Do you think this shift in philosophy will help Artifact recover some of its playerbase?

New Artifact update grants earning cards in-game

Probably some of the most important news to anyone who's purchased and since not played Artifact: You can now earn cards in-game just by playing.

Artifact 1.1 Update adds Social Features

Despite the faltering player counts, the Artifact team is still pushing on. They released an update today that focuses on improving the social aspects of the game. There is now a chat wheel, in-game and post-game chat, and new automated tournaments. The update announcement also hints at a new update next week that is “focused on a skill-based progression system.” Sounds promising!

Artifact is Struggling to Keep a Playerbase

Artifact, Valve’s digital card game that released late last month, has been steadily losing players. According to SteamCharts and SteamDB the game peaked at 60,740 concurrent players on November 29th. In the last 24 hours, there were only 12,670 concurrent players. That’s a massive falloff for a game that is so new and has all the advantage’s Artifact has. It is uncertain whether Artifact’s issues stem from the game’s complexity, its economic model, or something else. Have you tried Artifact? Are you interested in the game at all? Let us know!

Did Valve butcher Artifact?

I think the game itself is fine but it had all this hype 6 months ago that Valve was finally making another game and then all the hype died down by the time the game actually came out. I didn't really see much in the way of marketing for Artifact either. As with any online game and especially as a card game, it's important to have a large player base so that people can quickly find games and so that there's a wide range of skill levels with healthy populations of each. I feel that even though Artifact at its core is a good game, it will ultimately fail because of the way Valve has approached it.
