Following widespread disappointment regarding the game’s performance on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, CD Projekt Red is now offering refunds for the console versions of Cyberpunk 2077. In their statement, CDPR apologized for “not showing the game on base last-gen consoles” and said, “We should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.” The studio went on to say that they “will fix bugs and crashes, and improve the overall experience” with 2 major patches, one in January and one in February. For players who don’t want to wait for the updates, CD Projekt Red is offering refunds for the game from now until December 21.

  2. Genshin Impact Expansion   Genshin Impact will soon be getting another big update. Called “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon,” the new update will introduce the game’s first-ever map expansion: Dragonspine. Dragonspine is an extremely cold mountain range with the new “Sheer Cold” mechanic which forces players to ensure their character stays warm enough while traversing the frosty terrain. Aside from the new map, the update will also bring 2 new five-star characters to the game: Albedo and Ganyu. The Chalk Prince and the Dragon is set to go live on December 23; you can check out the trailer for the update below.

  3. Ubisoft Freebies   Ubisoft is giving away a bunch of freebies this week as part of their Happy Holidays giveaway event. There will be one new item available every day from now through December 18, and although most of the gifts are still a secret, it is expected that at least one of the gifts will include a free game. Today’s freebie is an in-game content pack for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla which includes the Seafarer Settlement Pack and the legendary Bayek outfit for Eivor. You can claim your freebies each day directly from the Ubisoft website as long as you have a registered Ubisoft account. It’s important to note however that while the in-game content packs will be available cross-platform, any free games will likely only be available on PC.

  4. Vin Diesel Ark 2   During the global reveal of Ark 2 during The Game Awards 2020 last week, one thing clearly stood out: Vin Diesel. The trailer heavily featured the popular actor as one of the game’s main characters, but it now appears that his role is much more significant than originally expected. Studio Wildcard, the developer of Ark 2, not only revealed that Vin Diesel is an executive producer for the game, but also that he has taken on the role as the studio’s new “President of Creative Convergence.” Although the studio says that Vin Diesel is currently “providing direct feedback to the development process,” it’s still somewhat unclear precisely what duties Vin Diesel will be handling with his new role. Regardless, this certainly is an interesting and unexpected development and could pave the way for other famous video game fans to start having a hand in the industry. You can check out the reveal trailer for Ark 2 below.

  5. EA Buys Codemasters   Electronic Arts is set to acquire Codemasters for a whopping $1.2 billion. One of the longest-running game development studios in Britain, Codemasters is best known for their wide array of racing games which includes franchises such as DiRT, Grid, and Formula 1. In their statement EA said, “Electronic Arts and Codemasters have a shared ambition to lead the video game racing category...and together we will be positioned to lead in a new era of racing entertainment.”

Cyberpunk rushed its release because they already did a lot of delays. I could have survived another month lol

People basically made them release it cause they were begging for it and used its hype while they had it, so they couldn’t fix all the bugs and everything, that’s why they kept delaying it, so everyone who wanted them to release it and kept asking them to is kinda apart of the problem. To me the games isn’t that bad, like there isn’t to many game breaking bugs, and I could have gone another month without it cause I wasn’t planning on getting it in the first place
