1. Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds
Following widespread disappointment regarding the game’s performance on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, CD Projekt Red is now offering refunds for the console versions of Cyberpunk 2077. In their statement, CDPR apologized for “not showing the game on base last-gen consoles” and said, “We should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.” The studio went on to say that they “will fix bugs and crashes, and improve the overall experience” with 2 major patches, one in January and one in February. For players who don’t want to wait for the updates, CD Projekt Red is offering refunds for the game from now until December 21.
2. Genshin Impact Expansion Genshin Impact will soon be getting another big update. Called “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon,” the new update will introduce the game’s first-ever map expansion: Dragonspine. Dragonspine is an extremely cold mountain range with the new “Sheer Cold” mechanic which forces players to ensure their character stays warm enough while traversing the frosty terrain. Aside from the new map, the update will also bring 2 new five-star characters to the game: Albedo and Ganyu. The Chalk Prince and the Dragon is set to go live on December 23; you can check out the trailer for the update below.

4. Vin Diesel Ark 2 During the global reveal of Ark 2 during The Game Awards 2020 last week, one thing clearly stood out: Vin Diesel. The trailer heavily featured the popular actor as one of the game’s main characters, but it now appears that his role is much more significant than originally expected. Studio Wildcard, the developer of Ark 2, not only revealed that Vin Diesel is an executive producer for the game, but also that he has taken on the role as the studio’s new “President of Creative Convergence.” Although the studio says that Vin Diesel is currently “providing direct feedback to the development process,” it’s still somewhat unclear precisely what duties Vin Diesel will be handling with his new role. Regardless, this certainly is an interesting and unexpected development and could pave the way for other famous video game fans to start having a hand in the industry. You can check out the reveal trailer for Ark 2 below.
