Ubisoft has announced a next-gen player service called Ubisoft Connect, which will replace and expand upon both Uplay and Ubisoft Club. Ubisoft Connect will act as a cross-platform “universal interface” and will enable players to easily track their progress across all Ubisoft games as well as provide exclusive rewards through its loyalty program. This will enable complete cross-progression between devices and will include a cross-platform friends list, stats sheet, and leaderboard. Furthermore, Ubisoft Connect will also introduce a new “smart intel” feature which will provide gameplay tips and challenges for each Ubisoft game. Ubisoft Connect is set to arrive alongside the launch of Watch Dogs: Legion on October 29.

  2. PUBG Season 9   PUBG Season 9 is officially live. While Season 9 introduces several changes to the game, the brand-new map Paramo is certainly the most significant. Paramo is by far the most dynamic map that PUBG has ever released as it evolves over the course of each match, presenting new challenges and opportunities as the terrain changes. On the rewards side of things, Season 9 will be split up into 2 different season passes, each lasting for 2 months with another sizable update between them. PUBG Season 9 is live now on PC and will arrive on console on October 29; you can check out the Season 9 Paramo launch trailer below.

  3. Amazon Luna Early Access   Luna, Amazon’s new cloud gaming service, has now entered early access. According to the announcement, Amazon has “received hundreds of thousands of requests for early access” and “will begin granting invitations to a small set of customers in the U.S.” starting today. As of right now, Luna is available on PC, Fire TV, and iOS, with an Android version “coming soon.” In terms of pricing, the early access version of Luna will cost $6/month, with subscribers able to “play 50 games to start, with more added over time.”

  4. Ghost of Tsushima Sequel?   It looks like Ghost of Tsushima may be getting a sequel. According to a new job listing from Ghost of Tsushima developer Sucker Punch, the studio is looking for a narrative writer with the “desire to write stories set in feudal Japan.” While the listing doesn’t mention Ghost of Tsushima by name, it has understandably attracted the attention of fans as it aligns perfectly with the game’s theme and setting. Of course, considering that the job listing was just recently posted, it will likely be quite some time before the game actually comes to fruition if it is indeed a Ghost of Tsushima sequel. In the meantime, PlayStation players can enjoy the game’s free new co-op expansion, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, which just launched last week. You can check out the launch trailer for Legends below.

  5. 2K Addresses NBA 2K21 Ads   Following widespread outrage, 2K Games has finally addressed the unskippable in-game commercials that were recently added to NBA 2K21. Specifically, 2K said that the ads were “not meant to run as part of the pre-game introduction” and promised that the issue “will be fixed in future episodes.” That said, 2K is still planning to keep the ads in general, they’re just going to be removing them from the pre-game introductions and instead have the ads “integrated into 2KTV segments.”
