The Daily Moot: Big Yeetus and the Anti-CheatusNews Picks
1. Fall Guys Cheater Island
Mediatonic just revealed that there’s been a secret “Cheater Island” in Fall Guys which forces cheating players to play exclusively against other cheaters, preventing the rule-breakers from ruining normal games. Unfortunately, despite Mediatonic’s intention to create “a magical place where cheaters could happily compete against themselves for the Cheater's Crown,” Cheater Island didn’t work out as planned and has now been removed. Instead, Fall Guys is implementing Epic’s Anti-Cheat which should hopefully be more effective. The new anti-cheat system is live now as the main focal point of today’s appropriately named update: “Big Yeetus and the Anti-Cheatus.”
2. Overwatch London Calling Overwatch will soon be getting a five-issue digital comic book series called London Calling. London Calling, as you might expect from the name, will focus heavily on Tracer and her life in London. To celebrate the new comics, Overwatch is holding an in-game event called “Tracer’s Comic Challenge” which will allow players to earn various limited-time cosmetics including a new epic Tracer skin. Each of the comics will be available for free online and the first issue of the series is available now; you can check out the trailer for London Calling below.
3. Conan Exiles Expansion Conan Exiles is getting its first major expansion. Entitled “Isle of Siptah,” the expansion will introduce a large new island region, completely unrelated to the game’s existing territory. As such, players will essentially have to “start over.” According to developer Funcom, “the island features more than a dozen new dungeons, surges of sorcery that spawn vile creatures and NPCs, and an ominous dark tower.” The Isle of Siptah expansion will cost $20 and is set to launch in early access later today; you can check out the trailer for the expansion below.
4. New PUBG Game Mode? It looks like PUBG may soon be getting a new game mode. Following a leak last week, rumors have begun circulating about an upcoming mode called “Vostok.” Although details are sparse, Vostok is expected to be a tournament-style battle royale mode where players will face off in a series of 1v1 battles in a manner similar to the autobattler recipe. With that said, PUBG Corp has yet to address the rumors so, as with all leaks, it’s important to take this information with a grain of salt until an official announcement is made.
5. Borderlands Tabletop RPG Borderlands will soon be getting a tabletop RPG adaptation. Called “Bunkers and Badasses,” the game is a throwback to the fictional tabletop of the same name which first appeared in a Borderlands 2 DLC. Featuring 10 classes, 3 different adventures, and a 200-page game book, Bunkers and Badasses will enable players to create their very own Vault Hunters and embark on an epic journey. Bunkers and Badasses is set to launch early next year and is available for pre-order now; you can check out the announcement video below.
