1. PS5 Officially in Production

The PlayStation 5 is officially in production and the planned numbers for 2020 are absolutely massive. Sony has greatly amped up their production speed with the aim of having 10 million consoles ready for market by the year’s end. This completely dwarfs previous estimates which suggested a total of around 5 million consoles by Spring 2021. Although important information like pricing still hasn’t been released yet, this is a clear indication that Sony’s internal analytics are predicting an unprecedented level of success for the PlayStation 5 at launch.

  2. Stadia Exclusive Games   Google has announced that the Stadia will soon have its very own exclusive games. Currently, Google has announced a total of 5 Stadia-exclusives, which surprisingly includes some pretty big names. One of the projects, which has already finished development, is a new online multiplayer game called Outcasters and comes courtesy of Gears Tactics developer Splash Damage. Perhaps the most notable collaborations are with Harmonix and Supermassive Games. These partnerships could very well mean that the Google Stadia will have exclusive rights to the next edition of Rock Band, Little Big Planet, or Until Dawn. It’s unclear exactly how these new collaborations will manifest, but Google is certainly starting to make some big moves with the Stadia.

  3. DiRT 5 Features Trailer   A new trailer for the upcoming off-road racing sim DiRT 5 has been released. The trailer shows off several of the game’s features as well as many of the new maps and cities. The trailer also gives a glimpse of the game’s gameplay and game modes, including the much-requested return of Gymkhana. DiRT 5 is set to launch on October 9; you can watch the features trailer below.

  4. CoD Border War Skin Renamed   Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone have renamed the controversial “Border War” operator skin. Following criticisms which claimed that the skin promoted anti-immigration and had racist connotations, Infinity Ward has now changed the Border War skin into the “Home on the Range” skin. The description for the skin now encourages players to “play along with the deer and the antelope with the Home on the Range D-Day operator skin.” Although the skin’s name and description have been changed, the skin itself is still identical to the original version.

  5. Most Expensive Game Ever   A rare Super Mario Bros. game has broken the record for the most expensive game ever purchased. The classic 1985 version of Super Mario Bros. was still in its original packaging, which is important because this particular casing for the game was only used for a very short period of time. Sold at auction to an anonymous bidder, the game went for a whopping $114,000, breaking the record for the most expensive game ever purchased. The previous record holder was another unopened 1985 Super Mario Bros. game which sold for $100,150.

I can't decide if Google is brilliant or delusional for continuing to put money into the Stadia

Yeah I don't see the Stadia ever being competitive with Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo in the console wars

  • GooMoo LV.14 Chief Jul 16, 2020, 06:28 AM

Yeah. Plus microsoft is gonna be releasing the xcloud, which will basically be stadia but actually good.

Oh yeah I'm not saying in terms of hardware that it's bad. But unless you were buying it as your first gaming console, I don't really know who would buy it. They didn't really have any exclusive games, it was all just stuff that you could get on the other consoles
