Half-Life is finally back! Today’s launch of Half-Life: Alyx marks the first return in the Half-Life franchise since Half-Life 2: Episode 2 released more than a decade ago in 2007. While fans will no doubt still be awaiting Half-Life 3, the VR-exclusive Alyx will undoubtedly sate the players who have powerful enough rigs to run the game. Early reviews for the game have been overwhelmingly positive, marking Half-Life’s return to dominance. Half-Life: Alyx is available exclusively on PC.

  2. Legends of Runeterra Changes   Riot’s collectible card game Legends of Runeterra is undergoing some changes. These changes are designed to make it easier for players to get new cards and to reduce the cost of extra content like the Expedition draft mode. Weekly Vault rewards have been improved across the board, offering more and better loot as well as a guaranteed Expedition token for level 2 vaults and above. Riot has also removed the experience decay from PvP matches meaning that players will be able to level up much more quickly. Overall these changes should make it easier for new players and veterans alike to get new cards and quickly build competitive decks.

  3. Warzone Surpasses 30M Players   In just 10 days since its launch, Call of Duty: Warzone has already surpassed 30 million players. While its status as a free-to-play game combined with the lockdown due to the coronavirus are certainly contributing to the player numbers, this is still an impressive feat nonetheless. In fact, these numbers are competitive with Apex Legend’s launch which took the world by storm. For reference, Apex Legends had 25 million players in its first week and over 50 million players in its first month. Do you think Warzone can beat those numbers?

  4. Artifact 2   Despite the catastrophic failure that was the release of Valve’s TCG Artifact, all signs are pointing to a re-release of the game. Valve has apparently been working on the game nonstop and said they want to “try again” and are“getting ready to release” a revamped version of the game. Valve was apparently very surprised when the game flopped initially; we’ll have to see if they were able to learn from their mistakes and find better success in their second attempt.

  5. GameStop Closing All Storefronts   After first trying to label themselves as an “essential” business amid the coronavirus lockdown, GameStop has now announced that they will be closing all US storefronts. Although the storefronts will be closed, GameStops will still be operating on a digital level and will remain open for curbside pickup.
