Moot Username Policy Update!
Notice***NOTE: This feature will not go live until August 12th!*** Howdy folks! 🤠 After receiving some feedback, we have decided to update our policy regarding Moot usernames. Moving forward, if you are inactive on Moot for more than 12 months your name will be available for other users to claim. If any existing user wishes to claim your name, OR if a new user wishes to make an account with your name, they will be able to do so. You will still be able to login to your account (with all items, posts, comments, etc...) after 12 months, only your username will be different. Thank you all for understanding and happy humpday!

I don’t give a shit
I guess I could see the logic behind this, but I don’t think it’s fair to assume someone’s gone forever. What if there was something negative connected to that name and this poor new guy gets so much hate because he coincidentally chose the hated persons name? Also, what if someone passes away, leaving their friends they’ve made on here behind.... seeing someone else with their name would be painful.
I agree
thank god
Sounds reasonable!
I am amazed at the confusion here. it seems pretty straightforward.
