Moot Username Policy Update!
Notice***NOTE: This feature will not go live until August 12th!*** Howdy folks! 🤠 After receiving some feedback, we have decided to update our policy regarding Moot usernames. Moving forward, if you are inactive on Moot for more than 12 months your name will be available for other users to claim. If any existing user wishes to claim your name, OR if a new user wishes to make an account with your name, they will be able to do so. You will still be able to login to your account (with all items, posts, comments, etc...) after 12 months, only your username will be different. Thank you all for understanding and happy humpday!

dont let ur parents take your phone. moot has now put stakes on the line. anyone grounded for 12 months doesnt only have horrible parents, you also lose your signature username.

Nah, it’s a pretty good concept. It just blew up too fast and little toxic kids took over and I’m not about to play with ‘em.
thing about battle royale in general is if you don't start first you can't play at all, but I started in season 2 before it blew up, and then toxicity got real because team killing and other issues but then people just get so much better

people don't understand this lol you only get to use someone else's username you are not taking their followers or shit like that and it's their fault for being gone for a whole year stop complaining this is important for bot accounts that took up random usernames and it says the username is taken I wish this could happen on other social media sites and even PlayStation Network but I'm fine with this for right now

I don't understand why some of you don't like this policy, it seems pretty reasonable to me. The only way you won't be on for a year is if you delete moot pretty much, and by then you won't be using it
TL;DR - If you don't use moot for 1 YEAR, someone can take your username. If you then decide to come back to Moot after that 1 year period, all of your content and followers will be the same, but you will have a randomly generated username.
