The Daily Moot: Apex Legends Crossplay

1. Apex Legends Crossplay
Cross-platform play has finally made its way to Apex Legends. Although Respawn says the feature is currently in beta, PC and console players can now team up and play together for the first time in the game’s history. Today’s update also introduced a new limited-time collection event called Aftermarket, as well as a temporary game mode called Flashpoint. Last but not least, Wraith received a nerf to her sprint animations which is designed to “expose a larger area of her body to gunfire.” You can check out the trailer for the Aftermarket update below.

2. Baldur's Gate 3 Early Access

Baldur’s Gate 3 early access is officially here. The third game in the Dungeons & Dragons-inspired series, Baldur’s Gate 3 was originally expected to launch in early access last month, but was pushed back until today in order to address “stability issues.” In comparison to the tabletop version of Dungeons & Dragons, Baldur’s Gate 3 will have 6 different classes, each with its own subclasses, and is designed to be more favorable towards the player. Multiclassing is expected to arrive in the future, but players will only be able to select 1 class during early access.

3. RTX 3080 Virtual Queue

After yesterday’s news that Nvidia’s RTX 3000 series GPUs will likely be unavailable until next year, manufacturer EVGA has announced that they will be implementing a virtual queue enabling users to reserve an RTX 3080. The offer is limited to 1 card per household, and once your spot in the queue comes up, you’ll only have 8 hours to claim and purchase the card before it goes to the next person in line. While the queue will no doubt be extremely long, at least players will finally have a method of grabbing a next-gen GPU before the bots and scalpers buy up the entire stock.

4. Resident Evil Reboot

The cast for the upcoming Resident Evil Reboot has been revealed. Although the original six-film series starring Milla Jojovich hasn’t exactly earned any accolades, it has brought in a lot of money: over $1.2 billion to be exact. Now, the series is set to start all over with a brand new cast. Producer Robert Kulzer explained the decision by saying, “!e felt compelled to return to the year 1998, to explore the secrets hidden in the walls of the Spenser Mansion and Raccoon City.” The reboot will star Kaya Scodelario as Claire Redfield, Robbie Amell as Chris Redfield, and Hannah John-Kamen as Jill Valentine. There’s no word yet on when the reboot is set to debut, but there’s also a CGI version of Resident Evil in the works called Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness which is expected to arrive on Netflix in 2021. You can check out the trailer for Infinite Darkness below.

The Daily Moot: Cyberpunk is Ready for Launch

1. Cyberpunk 2077 is Ready for Launch
After years of waiting in anticipation, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally ready for launch. CD Projekt announced the news today by saying, “Cyberpunk 2077 has gone gold!” which means that the game has officially been cleared for production. While this certainly doesn’t mean that work on the game is finished, it does mean that despite all of the delays and the recent implementation of development crunch, we really will be getting at least some version of Cyberpunk 2077 by the game's stated release date. Players can likely expect a hefty patch on Day 1 which will include all of the bug fixes and features that the team is able to develop between now and launch. Much of the game, including multiple DLCs and a multiplayer game mode, is set to arrive sometime after the game finally launches on November 19.

2. RTX 3000s Likely Unavailable Until 2021

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has bad news for the many PC gamers who have been hoping to get their hands on one of Nvidia’s new RTX 3000 series GPUs. Specifically, he said, “I believe that demand will outstrip all of our supply throughout the year.” Interestingly, Jensen Huang asserted that there is no issue on the supply side of things, but rather described the problem as a “demand issue,” saying that “this is a phenomenon like we've not seen in a long time, and we just weren't prepared for it.” This means that, although Nvidia is implementing certain anti-bot measures for the upcoming launch of the RTX 3070, the vast majority of players will likely still be unable to grab one. He did say that the company is ramping up production “really, really hard,” but it sounds like most people will end up having to wait until next year.

3. Minecraft Live

Minecraft Live took place this weekend, unveiling much of what’s to come in 2021. Developer Mojang let the Minecraft community determine the game’s next major mob, with a choice between Icelogger, Glow Squid, and Moobloom. Glow Squid came out on top and will debut as part of the upcoming Caves & Cliffs update, which will be revamping the world underground. Caves & Cliffs is set to launch during the summer of 2021; you can check out the update’s lengthy first look video below.

4. Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remaster

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered has officially been announced. The original Hot Pursuit launched back in 2010 and won numerous accolades including “Best Racing Game” at the 2010 Game Critics Awards. In addition to updated visuals, the remaster will also include all of the game’s DLC and will be implementing cross-platform play on launch. Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered is set to arrive on November 6 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and November 13 for the Nintendo Switch. You can check out the trailer for the game below.

5. The Witcher Season 3

It looks like the third season of Netflix’s The Witcher is currently under production. This news comes via the Writer's Guild of America, which has added “The Witcher Season 3” to the credits of the show’s executive producer, Lauren Hissrich. Even though the production of Season 3 is apparently underway, it will likely be a long time before it actually arrives considering that Season 2 is still yet to debut. Although no concrete release date for The Witcher Season 2 has been announced yet, it is expected to arrive sometime during the latter half of 2021.

Why Moot should move much more in the direction of Reddit, rather than Insta or Twitter.

It just should forehead.
Look. Moot dry asf rn. Boring asf rn.
There aren't enough good posts. I mean. If someone posted on twitter posts asking for posts, retweets and likes, then they would be widely received as human scum.
But here. With a smaller community, and a lower average age, Moot just doesn't have the same sorta standards across the platform. A platform chock full of simps...
That's notta end well.
Will it?
Anyways.
With Reddit having its designated communities. Yes it may be a bit too specific. And when I talk about content. It's usually about the Off Topic lounge. Buy it doesn't mean we shouldn't still have standards. And be upstanding members of the community.

But we should also have a balance between platform styles.

Have leniency, but still be a proper place for proper posting.
Memes should of course be allowed. But not spammed.
BUT IF I SEE A MOOTER POST SOMETHING THAT I COUNT AS A WASTE OF MY FEED, SHOULD FUCK OFF.

I guess...

Lel.

But really. Would it hurt to put some time and/or effort into a post for once? Or have some creativity? Or post something interesting?
Is it really that much to ask?
To ask for you to write your own posts?

Is it really?

I mean. I think if you did you've earned yourself a little more self respect and also the respect of your peers.

The Daily Moot: Rogue Company

1. Rogue Company Open Beta
The open beta for Rogue Company is officially live. The 4v4 cooperative team shooter saw more than 2 million players during its closed beta period and those numbers are almost certain to rise now. Rogue Company is completely free to play, but there are, of course, plenty of cosmetics that you can spend your money on should you choose to do so. The game supports full cross-platform play between PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and developer Hi-Rez Studios says that ranked play and an “advanced ping system” are both coming soon. You can watch the trailer for the game below.
P.S. Check out the Rogue Company lounge right here on Moot:

2. Hyper Scape Big Changes

Hyper Scape will soon be getting some “big changes” according to Ubisoft. Although Hyper Scape launched to significant hype and attention, the fervor for the game quickly dissipated. Ubisoft has now addressed the game’s decline by saying, “We were not able to achieve the high expectations we set for ourselves,” and explained that they will now be restructuring their development team in order to better address the issues. Only time will tell if Ubisoft’s efforts will be able to revitalize the game, but it’s good to see them acknowledge the game’s current shortcomings and commit to solving them. Season 2 of Hyper Scape is set to arrive on October 6; you can check out the announcement trailer below.

3. Apple and Epic File for Bench Trial

In a joint motion, Apple and Epic Games have both filed for a bench trial for their ongoing legal battle. This comes in response to statements made by Judge Gonzalez Rogers, who mentioned her desire to see the case tried in front of a jury. It appears that neither Apple nor Epic are interested in trying their luck in front of 12 of their “peers,” and would instead prefer for the presiding judge to hand down the final verdict. Regardless of whether or not the motion is accepted, the parties will likely have to wait until July of next year for the trial to commence.

4. Team Fortress 2 Player Count

Team Fortress 2 just hit its highest-ever concurrent player count. Despite being more than a decade old at this point, the classic multiplayer shooter is still pulling in seriously impressive numbers. According to SteamCharts, Team Fortress 2 peaked at 130,000 concurrent players last night, and has averaged nearly 70,000 concurrent players over the past 30 days. While these numbers are certainly impressive, data suggests that many of these “players” are actually bots, with estimates suggesting that only 25,000 are real human players.

5. RTX 3070 Delayed

Nvidia has delayed the launch of the RTX 3070 in an effort to avoid the many issues that plagued the arrival of the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090. While next-gen graphics cards are always in high demand, the 3000 series GPUs have garnered an unseen level of interest. While this isn’t particularly surprising considering that the RTX 3080 is twice as powerful and half the cost as the former king of GPUs in the RTX 2080 ti, very few players have been able to get their hands on a next-gen card as scalpers and bots purchased the entire stock within minutes. In response, Nvidia is now postponing the arrival of the RTX 3070 until October 29 in order to provide a larger stock of available cards on launch day. Whether or not their efforts will pan out remains to be seen, but hopefully this means that the debut of the RTX 3070 won’t be nearly as disastrous as the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090.

The Daily Moot: Super Smash Bros. Minecraft

1. Super Smash Bros. Minecraft
Minecraft will soon be making its way to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The Minecraft DLC will bring 4 of Minecraft’s most iconic characters to the game: Steve, Alex, Enderman, and Zombie. Although details are still sparse, some of the abilities that have been revealed include building, explosives, mine carts, and flying wings. If the upcoming collaboration surprises you, you’re not the only one: Game Director Masahiro Sakurai expressed his shock at the collaboration by saying, “Even I didn’t think this day would come.” No release date for the new Minecraft characters has been announced yet, but more details will likely be revealed during the Minecraft Live livestream event this Saturday.

2. Epic Freebies

Another week of freebies from Epic Games is here. This week’s free game is the surreal puzzle adventure game Pikuniku. You can grab your free copy of Pikuniku directly from the Epic Games Store from now until October 8. As long as you claim the game by October 8, it will stay in your library forever.

3. Overwatch Free?

It sounds like Overwatch may soon be available for free on PC. Overwatch League team Boston Uprising briefly hosted a link for free copies of the game on their website yesterday, but quickly took it down around an hour later, leading to widespread speculation about the possibility of Overwatch becoming free to play. Blizzard has now officially commented on the matter via Overwatch League Vice President Jon Spencer who confirmed that all Overwatch League teams will soon be giving away both Overwatch and OWL tokens. There’s no word on exactly when this promotion is supposed to start, but it’s worth keeping an eye on if you’re interested in the game and have yet to grab a copy.

4. Overcooked 2 Moon Harvest

Overcooked 2 just got a new, free DLC today called Moon Harvest. Moon Harvest brings the season of Autumn to the game, with a particular emphasis on the Mid-Autumn/Mooncake Festival which is celebrated in many countries across Asia including Japan, Korea, and China. In terms of content, the DLC introduces new recipes (including mooncakes), new perilous dangers, and 5 new kitchens. The Moon Harvest DLC is live now; you can check out the launch trailer for the update below.

5. Sea of Thieves Stand Up to Cancer

Sea of Thieves has announced a new partnership with the Stand Up to Cancer charity foundation. The partnership introduces a new cosmetic sail variant to the game called “Sails of Union.” The new sails are available for $6 and they glow with various stars and constellations during the nighttime. The proceeds will be donated to Stand Up to Cancer for purchases based in the United States and to Cancer Research for purchases made in the United Kingdom. The Sails of Union are available now through November 6; you can check out the announcement video below.

The Daily Moot: Cyberpunk Crunch

1. Cyberpunk Crunch
CD Projekt Red has announced that they will be implementing a “crunch” period ahead of the Cyberpunk 2077 launch. CD Projekt Red has long advocated against crunch, which often sees developers working extremely long hours with very few breaks in order to ensure that a game is ready by its publicly stated launch date. In regards to the mandatory crunch for Cyberpunk 2077, studio boss Adam Badowski said, “I take it upon myself to receive the full backlash for the decision. This is in direct opposition to what we've said about crunch…but we've extended all other possible means of navigating the situation.” It is worth noting however, that unlike most companies during crunch, CD Projekt will only have their employees working 48 hour weeks (rather than 70+) and will be paying overtime rates for the extra hours.

2. Cold War Zombies Reveal

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s zombies mode has officially been revealed. As expected, the mode will take place in the Cold War era, and players will have to make use of Cold War-era weapons in order to fend off increasingly difficult waves of World War II-era Nazi zombies. Much of the gameplay will be exactly what players have come to expect from the game mode, but there are a few changes. Most notably, there will no longer be a limit to how many perks you can use, meaning that players could theoretically equip every single perk in the game as long as they have enough points to do so. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to launch on November 13; you can check out the reveal video for the game’s zombies mode below.

3. Diablo 4 Skills Overhaul

Diablo 4 will soon be getting a massive overhaul to its skills and talents system. Blizzard explained that they felt the current system was “too simple” and “created issues where a player would have no meaningful reason to spend their skill points.” The new system will consist of a skill tree which will present a wide variety of gameplay possibilities. Players will have to choose carefully however, as Blizzard estimates that endgame characters will only be able to complete 30-40 percent of the tree. No release date for the revamped system has been announced yet, but Blizzard is welcoming community feedback and “constructive discussions” in order to make the new system as good as possible before launch.

4. Golden Joystick Awards

Community voting for the Golden Joystick Awards is officially underway. The Golden Joystick awards is the largest annual community-voted gaming awards ceremony on the planet, and the 2020 edition marks the 38th anniversary of the event. There are currently 18 different categories open for voting, including the Game of the Year awards for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo. The winners will be revealed during a live-streamed ceremony in November of this year; you can check out the nominees for each category via the link below.

5. EA Play on Xbox Game Pass

EA Play will soon be coming to the Xbox Game Pass, both for PC and console. Microsoft first announced the partnership earlier this month, and now we know exactly how it will work. A huge chunk of EA’s library will be added to the console version of the Game Pass starting on November 10, including series like Mass Effect, Battlefield, The Sims, and Titanfall. PC players will have to wait a bit longer, with the migration set to happen sometime in December. Unlike Microsoft’s recent partnership with Bethesda, it doesn’t appear that every new EA title will be available via Game Pass on launch day. Regardless however, with EA and Bethesda now becoming a significant part of the Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft’s subscription service is starting to look like a very good deal for most gamers. Xbox Game Pass is available for $10 per month for access on one platform, or $15 per month for the “Ultimate” edition which provides complete access on every compatible platform: PC, Xbox, xCloud, and Android.

The Daily Moot: Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 6

1. Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 6
Season 6 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone is now live. Both games received plenty of changes with the Season 6 patch, adding new maps, modes, and of course, cosmetics. Most notably for Warzone, Verdansk now has a new fast-travel system called the Verdansk Metro, enabling players to travel from one station to the next in a matter of seconds. On the other hand, Modern Warfare introduced 4 new multiplayer maps as well as a new game mode based on Kill Confirmed. You can check out the cinematic launch trailer for Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 6 below.

2. Apple Epic Lawsuit Update

The ongoing battle between Apple and Epic Games resumed yesterday as the two companies met in front of the presiding justice for the case, Judge Gonzalez Rogers. Although the case is far from over, it seems that Judge Rogers has already begun forming an opinion on the matter - and it doesn’t look good for Epic. Judge Rogers condemned Epic Games as “not honest” when the company attempted to bypass Apple’s mandatory pay system and said that the company “lied about it by omission, by not being forthcoming.” This doesn’t necessarily mean anything in terms of the outcome of the lawsuit, as Judge Rogers expressed the desire to see the case tried in front of a jury when it comes time for a final verdict. According to Judge Rogers, this means that the trial won’t take place until at least July of next year.

3. Spelunky 2 Steam Launch

Spelunky 2 has officially launched on Steam. The original Spelunky first launched back in 2008 to universal critical acclaim, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the game’s sequel ever since. Spelunky 2 features very similar gameplay to the first game, with heavy emphasis on rougelike elements amid procedurally generated levels. Although developer Derek Yu had originally intended for Spelunky 2 to launch with multiplayer, the mode will now be arriving in “a few weeks at most” as Yu explained that the team “decided to prioritize an earlier release so that Steam players could enjoy the game ASAP.” Once the multiplayer mode goes live, the game will have full cross-platform support between Steam and PS4. You can check out the launch trailer for Spelunky 2 below.

4. The Binding of Isaac: Repentance

The Binding of Isaac will soon be getting a huge new DLC called Repentance. Although it’s being marketed as a DLC, developer Edmund McMillen says that the expansion is so massive that it’s “basically a sequel at this point.” Repentance will add a whopping 25 new bosses, more than 100 new enemies, and over 5,000 new room designs to the game. Although no trailer for the DLC has been released yet, McMillen says that the team will start unveiling more information starting in the second half of October. The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is set to launch at the end of this year on December 31.

The Daily Moot: Genshin Impact

1. Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact has officially launched. The highly-anticipated free-to-play RPG saw more than 10 million pre-registrations across the globe, and although it’s not an MMO, many players have been eager to try the game's surprisingly deep multiplayer gameplay. Much of the attention towards Genshin Impact has been focused on its open-world art style, which has frequently been likened to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Genshin Impact is available on PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android; you can watch the launch trailer for the game below.
Also be sure to check out the new lounge for Genshin Impact right here on Moot:

2. Yakuza 7 Release Date

A new release date for Yakuza : Like a Dragon has been announced. The seventh mainline game in the series, Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be deviating somewhat from its predecessors, focusing on a new cast of characters and implementing a turn-based combat system rather than the real-time beat ‘em up style the series is known for. Unlike many games lately which have been getting delayed due to complications presented by the ongoing pandemic, Yakuza 7 will actually be arriving sooner than originally expected. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is now set to arrive on PC, PS4, and Xbox One/S/X when the next-gen Xbox launches on November 10. Unfortunately, PS5 players will have to wait until March of next year to get their hands on the game. You can check out the trailer for Yakuza 7 below.

3. Major Hearthstone Update

Hearthstone’s upcoming patch will soon be bringing some big changes to the game. The update will introduce 3 new major pieces of content to the game: the Masquerade Ball LTE, the return of Dual-Class Arena, and a new Book of Heroes solo campaign. There will also be plenty of balance changes, including a nerf to Tortollan Pilgrim which had been terrorizing the meta via the Turtle Mage deck. Last but not least, all Battlegrounds ratings will be reset to 0 ahead of the patch in order to prepare for a new, revamped rating system. Most of the patch is set to go live tomorrow, with the new Book of Heroes campaign arriving shortly after on October 13.

4. 37 CS:GO Coaches Banned

The Esports Integrity Commission has banned a whopping 37 CS:GO coaches for cheating. This is in relation to a long-existing spectator bug which enabled coaches to see the location of the enemy team and relay that information to their players. Although a few coaches were banned for abusing the exploit earlier this year, it is now clear that the cheating was far more rampant than originally expected. Some of the notable teams who abused the bug include FaZe Clan, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and Heroic, which is currently ranked as the second-best team in the world.

5. FarmVille Shutting Down

It’s been a long time since FarmVille first took the world by storm when it launched back in 2009. The Facebook farming sim was largely responsible for the massive growth of Zynga, which has since gone on to become one of the largest mobile game developers on the planet. Although it certainly is the end of an era, it’s also not particularly surprising considering that Adobe will be disabling Flash at the end of the year. Ideas that need to be added

Here I am again with another idea post, these are all recent ideas of mine and a couple others that need to be added to moot asap.

1) Content Policy Changes
This needs to take effect, moot is evolving in many ways which makes the user experience not enjoyable.
Please take a look at this post
https://moot.us/lounges/5/boards/15/posts/4643544/content-policy-changes-that-need-to-take-effect-as

2) Remove Featured Creators
This idea isn't cool especially since the accounts are most likely moot employees. I'm not interested in any of these posts, however I think that the featured section should stay. But there should be a system in place to get a VARIETY of posts featured.

3) Tagged Notifications
When someone puts my @ on a post I'm not notified for it and I think I should. Please add this!

4) Turn the notification color from Red to Purple

The Daily Moot: League of Legends World Championship

1. League of Legends World Championship
The 2020 League of Legends World Championship is officially underway. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event, but unfortunately many of the planned celebrations had to be put on hold due to complications caused by the pandemic. Thankfully however, the tournament itself is still on. The League of Legends World Championship is not only the biggest tournament in all of esports, it also has been a driving force in legitimizing esports in the global sporting sphere, earning frequent attention from major publications such as ESPN. The Play-In Stage of the tournament is set to run from today through September 28, with the top 4 teams earning the right to face off against the best in the world in the Group Stage starting October 5.

2. Fortnite Rocket League Llama-Rama

Fortnite and Rocket League are set to collide in the upcoming Llama-Rama crossover event starting tomorrow. This is largely due to Rocket League’s recent free-to-play transition, which saw the racecar soccer sim migrate its PC platform over to the Epic Games Store. The Llama-Rama is essentially a series of 5 different Rocket League challenges that progressively increase in difficulty and must be completed in order. By completing the challenges, you’ll earn cosmetic rewards for both Fortnite and Rocket League, such as the Octane RL backbling for Fortnite and the Battle Bus car for Rocket League. The Llama-Rama crossover event is set to run from September 26 until October 12; you can check out the trailer for the event below.

3. RuneScape Coming to Steam

RuneScape, one of the most popular MMORPGs of all time, will soon be coming to Steam. This news comes just ahead of the game’s 20th birthday, but despite its age, the game reported its highest-ever player membership numbers earlier this year. Nearly 300 million accounts have been created over RuneScape’s 20-year history, and it seems likely that those numbers will continue to rise with the upcoming Steam integration. RuneScape 3 will be launching on Steam on October 14, with Old School RuneScape set to follow early next year.

4. The Talos Principle 2 Confirmed

Croteam has officially confirmed that The Talos Principle 2 is on the way. The original Talos Principle, which first launched in 2014, garnered universal acclaim for its philosophical 3D puzzle gameplay, and many critics have since heralded the game as one of the best video games of all time. While the prospect of a sequel is definitely exciting news for fans of The Talos Principle, it sounds like the game is still very early in production as Croteam has been focusing all of their attention on Serious Sam 4 which just launched yesterday. As such, no target release date for The Talos Principle 2 has been announced yet, but Croteam writer Jonas Kyratzes emphasised that “Talos 2 is definitely happening,” and that the team “definitely has a plan” for the game’s “very ambitious” story.

5. Destiny 2 Re-Download

Bungie has announced that all Destiny 2 players will have to uninstall and re-download the game once the Beyond Light expansion goes live in November. While this is certainly a bit of an inconvenience, it does come with an upside: the new download will be at least 60GB smaller than the current version. To help prepare for the update, Bungie announced that they are “planning to enable Beyond Light preloads sometime in the evening of November 9, which should give everyone at least 10 hours to download before the gates open.” You can check out the trailer for Beyond Light below.

The Daily Moot: Amazon Luna

1. Amazon Luna
Amazon has officially announced their new cloud game streaming service Luna. Similar to Google’s Stadia, Microsoft’s xCloud, and Nvidia’s GeForce Now, Amazon’s Luna will enable users to play games remotely from a variety of devices. Luna will be available for a $5 monthly subscription and will be compatible with PC, Mac, Fire TV, and iPhone, with Android compatibility set to arrive shortly after launch. Amazon has also partnered with Ubisoft to bring all new Ubisoft titles to Luna on release day, meaning that players could enjoy upcoming games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on their 4K TV or mobile phone. No release date for Luna has been announced yet, but Amazon says that interested users who live in the US can request early access starting today.

2. Among Us 2 Cancelled

Among Us 2 has been cancelled. This news comes just one month after the sequel to the “multiplayer space mystery” game was first announced. Fortunately, it seems that Innersloth Studios has a good reason for cancelling the project, with the team explaining, “We have decided to instead put all our focus into improving Among Us 1. All of the content we had planned for Among Us 2 will instead go into Among Us 1.” While this seems like good news, it also sounds like it will be a lengthy, difficult process as the existing code has been derided as “outdated and not built to support adding so much new content.”

3. Epic Freebies

Another week of freebies from Epic Games is here. This week’s free game is Roller Coaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition. You can grab your free copy directly from the Epic Games Store from now until October 1. As long as you claim the game by October 1, it will stay in your library forever.
https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/free-games

4. Spellbreak Hits 5 Million Players

Spellbreak, the free-to-play battle royale from Proletariat Studios, has now reached 5 million total players. Spellbreak launched just 3 weeks ago which makes this a significant accolade, especially considering the overwhelming abundance of battle royales on the market today. Unlike most battle royales, however, Spellbreak incorporates RPG and roguelike elements and features class-based, arcane-themed gameplay mechanics. If you want to contribute to increasing the number beyond 5 million, you can play Spellbreak for free on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

5. Blizzard Co-Founder Opens New Studio

Blizzard co-founder and ex-CEO Mike Morhaime has announced that he is starting a new game company called Dreamhaven. Dreamhaven will initially consist of 2 internal development studios, Moonshot and Secret Door, which will each focus on their own individual projects. Moonshot will be headed by Jason Hayes, who previously worked as Blizzard’s executive producer on games like Hearthstone and Starcraft 2, while Secret Door will be led by Chris Sigtay, who was the lead producer for Heroes of the Storm and the original Warcraft 3. While these 2 studios will no doubt be getting plenty of attention due to the big names involved, Dreamhaven is also set to expand in the near future with efforts to provide funding and guidance to new game studios which can open under the Dreamhaven umbrella.

Active users finding it difficult to earn tickets

This is just something I've noticed. When you're a new user it is easy to get a lot of tickets. Once you've been around for a while, are active on the app, use it a lot, it becomes much more difficult because all your Quests are pretty huge.

I know the reasoning is to get new users to get into the app and become active but it does seem a bit skewed.

For example, the giveaway prior to the new instant-win system I used just under 2,000 tickets. Had I known about the instant-win system back then I would have saved them. Now its very difficult for me to even get 50 tickets.

I'm not complaining and to be honest I'm always impressed with Moots level of generosity. But it was a conversation I was having with another member and I thought it would be worth brining up.

Just curious if the ways to earn may have some upcoming plans to coincide better with the instant-win system or what.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

The Daily Moot: Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 6

1. Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 6
Season 6 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone is right around the corner, and Infinity Ward just released a new trailer to hype up the occasion. Although it doesn’t offer anything concrete, the trailer seems to hint at several upcoming changes such as a new underground subway system beneath Verdansk. The trailer also seems to introduce 2 new operators: Farah, who appeared in the Modern Warfare campaign, and Nikolai, a “Russain patriot with a deep love for his country.” Call of Duty: Modern Warfare & Warzone Season 6 is set to kick off on September 29; you can check out the cinematic trailer below.

2. Rocket League Now Free to Play

Rocket League is officially free to play. The popular race car meets soccer sim announced their plans to convert to a free-to-play model back in July alongside their PC platform migration to the Epic Games Store. The change also brings full cross-platform support to the game, enabling players to progress on the same account across all devices. Players who previously purchased Rocket League should also be getting their legacy status items today, including a special DLC, title, boost, wheel set, banner, and more. Furthermore, if you pick up your free copy of Rocket League on the Epic Games Store, you’ll get a $10 coupon to use on your next purchase. You can check out the cinematic trailer for Rocket League’s free-to-play transition below.

3. Destiny 2 Quest Honors Late Developer

Bungie has now added a short quest to Destiny 2 to honor developer Matt Helsom, who passed away last year after a difficult battle with brain cancer. Helsom had long been the senior artist and animator for the studio Vicarious Visions, and was integral to games such as Destiny 2, Crash Bandicoot, Spider-Man 3, and Guitar Hero. In their statement, Bungie said, “We wanted to memorialize his contributions in the Destiny universe. Thank you to everyone in the community who joins us in remembering this warm soul.”

4. The Game Awards

After months of speculation, Geoff Keighley has officially announced that the 2020 Game Awards will be happening later this year. The annual event not only recognizes the year’s biggest gaming achievements, but also serves as a platform for announcing and showcasing upcoming games. The 2020 Game Awards are set to kick off on December 10 and will be livestreamed from Los Angeles, Tokyo, and London.

5. Baldur’s Gate 3 Delay

Baldur’s Gate 3, the highly anticipated upcoming fantasy RPG based on Dungeons and Dragons, has been delayed. Developer Larian Studios explained the delay by saying that there are “still some stability issues” and that they need more time in order to ensure the game provides a “fun gameplay experience with as few crashes as possible.” Originally expected to arrive in early access on September 30, Baldur’s Gate 3 is now set to launch on October 6. You can check out the intro cinematic for the game below.

The Daily Moot: BTS x Fortnite Collaboration

1. BTS x Fortnite Collaboration
The immensely popular K-pop group BTS will soon be coming to Fortnite. Epic Games announced that Fortnite will be hosting the world premier of BTS’s new choreography music video for the song “Dynamite.” This is just the latest media crossover for Fortnite, which has previously hosted movie events and music artists such as Young Thug, Diplo and, most recently, Anderson Paak. The BTS x Fortnite collaboration is set to kick off this Friday at 5pm Pacific Time.

2. Microsoft Bethesda Update

In response to the gaming community’s understandable concern regarding Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax Media, Xbox head Phil Spencer has released a statement explaining Microsoft’s plans with the company. In an interview with CNBC, Spencer said quite bluntly, “ZeniMax has an amazing track record of building great games. Our plan is to leave it alone.” While this doesn’t address the possibility of Bethesda games becoming Xbox exclusives, it should help quell the worry that Microsoft might micromanage Bethesda and “ruin” the company in the process.

3. Blizzcon 2021

Blizzcon 2021 has officially been announced. Typically held in Anaheim, California, the 2021 edition of Blizzard’s annual convention will instead be an online-only event and is being dubbed by the company as “BlizzConline.” Not many details about the event have been announced yet, but it’s reasonable to assume that it will consist of the usual news and hype-building around Blizzard’s most popular franchises such as World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and Diablo. Blizzcon 2021 is set to take place as a 2-day event on February 19 and February 20.

4. Destiny 2: Beyond Light

Bungie has released a new trailer showing off some of the huge upcoming expansion for Destiny 2, Beyond Light. With plenty of new locations to explore on Jupiter’s moon Europa, Beyond Light is expected to delve into the origins and culture of the Exo, a robotic species of humanoid machines. Beyond Light is set to arrive on November 10; you can check out the trailer for the expansion below.

5. The Division 2 Free Weekend

The Division 2 will soon be kicking off another free weekend. Not only is this good news for players who are interested in the looter-shooter but have yet to try it out, it’s also good news for players who already own the game as the free weekend will include access to the Warlords of New York expansion. Any progress you make over the course of the free weekend will be saved to your main account should you purchase the game, and any progress you’ve made during previous free weekends will carry over to this upcoming free play period. The Division 2 free weekend is set to begin on September 24 and will last until September 27.

We need it in the item shop and it most likely will need to be expensive so that people don't keep changing it every two seconds. And if its, let's say 1000 coins, we will have to work for it if u don't already have that amount because of the same reason in the last sentence. If we can't have name changes in the shop, at least give us two to three more than what we already have. I am. It would be cool if we could sort out our or other peoples posts. Like if I was able to see my most popular post kind of like how you are able to see what the best post is on a lounge

Update v3.7 Review

And we are back with another update review! Man I love doing these! This update has me hopeful for v4.0 tbh, let's not get ahead of ourselves and get into it shall we!

1) LFG button added to home page
This is great, it makes the app feel more like its intended purpose which I love. I just opened it and WOW that looks sexy, it honestly looks so clean and I love the 2 tabs that moot put in the LFG section, cant wait to use this beautiful feature in the future!

2) New moot ticket giveaway structure
This seems really interesting, I think this will allow for more prizes in a way and seems like it will have that feel of more opportunity to win. Cant wait to see the feature in it's full glory soon!

3) New splash screens (Loading screens)
These seem interesting and I really feel like they could open up to a whole new era of something.
It is just loading screens but I feel like it could be used for something more, idk what exactly but I'm excited to see what moot possibly brings to the table...
Here is one of the splash screens
Update Rating - Potential/10

NEXT UPDATE REQUESTS

1) Remove Q&A entirely
In my opinion this should've never been added, just doesnt have a reason in this app tbh

2) Content Policy Updates
The content policy is outdated and moot is changing with new waves of content that shouldn't belong on moot but they do. I've already talked about this multiple times, if any admin wants the info I'll give it, just ask...

3) Lounge Changes
I feel like Lounges are overwhelming and need to be simplified somehow. I think there also needs to be a feature that somehow allows low follower count mooters to be recognized easier. As of the current time Lounges just promote people getting comments but you cant really do that if you dont have the audience for it. I think this needs to be in a separate post at another time because I'm flourishing with more ideas for Lounges rn.

Moot v3.7 Update! 🚨

Greetings, Mooties! We are excited to announce an update today that includes the following key features. Let's get straight into it!

1. LFG Button on the Home Page

We've replaced the QnA button on the Home Page's bottom menu bar with an LFG Button. Tapping this button will get you on the fast track toward connecting with new teammates.

QnA isn't gone (yet!) and it can still be accessed from the Home Page. If you want to access QnA still, tap the "More" button in the Recent Question section of the Home Page.

2. New Moot Ticket Giveaway Structure

We're adapting our Moot Ticket Giveaway structure to one where you can win instantly! Our original Moot Ticket Giveaway model had long giveaway durations; we hope the new instant model will be more fun and rewarding for users. Here's a sneak peek of what it will look like (the design is not final)!

The first wave of new Moot Ticket Giveaways starts TOMORROW so keep your eyes on the Moot Coin Shop! We may or may not be calling them Moot Scratchers 🤷‍♂️

The Daily Moot: Microsoft Buys Bethesda

1. Microsoft Buys Bethesda
Microsoft announced today that they have purchased ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks. This means that franchises such as The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, DOOM, and Quake will all be under the Microsoft banner going forward. Microsoft explained that this new partnership “starts with a commitment to deliver a breadth of amazing games to discover and play on Xbox,” which suggests that many of Bethesda’s most popular games may very well be Xbox exclusives in the future. Furthermore, Xbox head Phil Spencer also said that Bethesda’s existing library will be added to the Xbox Game Pass and that Microsoft intends to “bring Bethesda’s future games into Xbox Game Pass the same day they launch on Xbox or PC.”

2. EA Origin Renamed

EA Origin, the PC game launcher for Electronic Arts, is being renamed to “EA Desktop App.” According to EA, the company is changing the name in an effort to create “a common and consistent brand that is centered around EA and what EA stands for.” While that’s all fine and dandy in theory, it seems like a strange goal to have considering the gaming community’s general vitriol for EA as a whole. Aside from the new name, EA Desktop App will also make improvements to “create a more frictionless, fast, socially-oriented experience.” No rollout date for the EA Desktop App has been released yet, but EA says they have already begun registering users for a closed beta.

3. Life is Strange 2 Now Free

Life is Strange 2 Episode 1 is now free to play on all platforms. Although considered a sequel, Life is Strange 2 follows an entirely different set of characters than the original game, although it shares many of the same themes and devices. While this will certainly be good news for fans of the first game who have yet to try the second, it isn’t particularly surprising considering that developer Dontnod made the first Life is Strange free indefinitely back in 2016. Unfortunately however, only Episode 1 of Life is Strange 2 is free right now, meaning you’ll have to purchase the other 4 episodes if you want to experience the complete story.
https://lifeisstrange.square-enix-games.com/en-us/games/life-is-strange/free

4. No Man’s Sky: Origins

No Man’s Sky will be getting its next major expansion this week. Called Origins, developer Hello Games described the upcoming expansion by saying that it “won’t be our largest update, but it is the start of something.” Of course, this doesn’t really shed any light as to what exactly Origins has in store, but considering that it’s designed to be “another small step in a longer journey,” it seems likely that Origins will merely set the foundation for future content instead of introducing a ton of new content itself. Hello Games has yet to announce a concrete release date for Origins, but the expansion is expected to arrive sometime this week.

5. Halo 3: ODST Master Chief Collection

Halo 3: ODST will soon be joining the Master Chief Collection. The Master Chief Collection is an impressive menagerie of Halo remasters designed to take full advantage of PC capabilities, implementing a wide array of improvements such as variable frame rates, ultrawide support, and customisable key bindings. The Master Chief Collection now includes Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, and Halo 3: ODST. Halo 3: ODST will officially go live tomorrow, while the final game in the collection, Halo 4, is set to arrive “later in 2020.”

(No but really, on a serious note, go ask him for the link (I am banned yes, but it's ok, I'd rather try for change in my own way (which so far seems to be to force myself to dominate moot (wish me luck)))) (so many brackets).

But yh. Private profiles would be great. I wouldn't do it myself. But...

...

I-

...

It would be a terrible idea.
I am sorry guys. I'm sorry for all the gals who want this update. But I really do think it would be majorly unhealthy for moot. Moot doesn't have nearly large enough member base to implement this. I feel a lot of people would get even more bored and uninterested in Moot due to the lack of content they are able to view.

BUT.

I must agree with Lola on one thing on privatisation.

DMs

Have a request system for sending DMs. Mooters would get a regular notif but this time saying someone has requested to message you. You can have the same options as on Insta. 'Allow' 'Reject' 'Block'
And I know I know. This may already be a feature I some way. But I feel it should be the default. And that there is a message saying you can deactivate it in settings. Instead of having to just come across it as if by magic.

And I do feel this would majorly lesson the tension on female mooters in regards to inappropriate messages but there really is a limit to how much we are able to do without killing an organ of Moot's. There is a limit to all things. Solving one problem completely may open and equally large whole elsewhere. Maybe smaller. Maybe even larger. Much, much larger.

Sorry if the start of the post offends you Lola.
But it's my day of Mockening

Ya get it?
