Completion of the series
I have now officially completed all three of the dark souls games(with their respective dlcs of course) and it's been a long ride, I beat dark souls 1 and 3 about a year ago. Dark Souls 2 however(Scholar of The First Sin) was an interesting adventure. At first I played and it was fine, usual dark souls game but the amount of different bugs and glitches I had encountered in ds2(rolls not working well, not getting any sort of consistent damage using my greatsword) pretty much turned me away from it and then life got in the way and I kind of just forgot about it/never got the chance to complete. However, now that I've been home, I had decided to try it again and I pushed through it, I also figured out eye frames are attached to Agility and the Adaptability stat(I once useless stat, personally I don't like that this is a thing but it's whatever) so I upgraded that and went through the game with my double greatsword power-stance and crushed it. It's been a long journey and although I am happy I've beaten them, I just remember all of the amazing memories that I've made through these games and they will always be very special to me and some of the most amazing games I've played. So that's all, I guess, currently now I'm working through Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice which has been extremely fun. Anyways, I wish all of you the best and fun in your Dark Souls adventuress.
There’s no escape 😂😭
If anybody needs help in dark souls 2 I gotchu
I would help y’all in other souls game but dark souls 2 is the only game I have on me in the moment
Join my Dark Souls Remastered Chat!
Dark Souls Remastered is most likely my absolute favorite out of all Soulsborne games. Of course all Souls games are hard, of course you’ll find a challenge in all souls games. However Dark Souls remastered seems to be the only game with a consistent increase in difficulty the further you progress through the game.
Of course that means that at some point you will possible find yourself struggling and in need of help.
That‘s why I created a chat dedicated to all things Dark Souls, where anyone that is new to the game as well as Dark Souls veterans are all more than welcome to join!
Here‘s the link:

How to play Dark Souls ...
Step 1: Get frustrated.
Step 2: Let it all out on the boss.
Note: This was somewhere between attempt 19-20 of beating Taurus.
I tried the plunging strat on all 19 previous attempts... at some point I even went all the way back to Firelink to upgrade my weapon to +2...
In the vid you see me try plunging and failing one last time, then the frustration kicked in ...and well that worked as well. 🤷🏼♂️

Like I die to the most random things and can’t even be mad because the ways I died were so hilarious.
Just now I got to the first bonfire after the demons boss fight and got invaded, the invader spawns at the stairs down to the bridge and literally the second he raises his sword to attack me those ghost archers appear and kill me in the blink of an eye....😂🤷🏻♂️
Meanwhile I’m already struggling to complete my first NG+

An Ashen One’s Adventures #2 - The Demon Ruins
I was thinking for a long time now which advendure I‘d share next.
Should it be my expedition to the Cathedral of the Deep? My near death experiences in Farron Keep? Or my troublesome journey through Irithyll Dungeon.
No, all of these were less adventures and more hateful chores I had to take on me in order to progress through the story.
But just today I‘ve had a journey that is more worthy of being called adventure than anything else I‘ve experienced before.
This is the adventure of Joey the Cleric, a random heavy with an ultra greatsword and me and our 2 hour long expedition through the Demon Ruins.
It all started with the encounter of an terrifying laser shooting giant worm and the realization that Co-op might be the better idea for this area, so I seeked the nearest bonfire and put down my sign.
Not a second later I was summoned by Joey, a cleric whose HP spells should safe my life more than once on our journey and his companion, an unkindled knight with a greatsword that made my broadsword look like a rusty stick in comparison.
Together we headed down into the depths of the ruins.
It didn‘t take long to realize even in co-op this strange place wouldn‘t be a walk.
After we cleared the first area a hallway full of tiny lava-spitting demons we entered a labyrinth of tiny aisles full of ambushes and illusionary walls that beared even more ambushes.
Neither Joeys constant AoE HP restoration spells nor the knights massive damage output thanks to his giant weapon could spare us from getting lost.
I couldn‘t tell how but after the labyrinth brought us back to the where we initially started we seemingly took the same path but somehow ended up in a new area.
The burnt roots all over the walls where suddenly replaced by a magical blue tone adding just more mystery to this place.
Not only the environment had changed but also the types of enemies.
We were just getting used to the lava demons and other foes bound by lava, when all of a sudden an unexpected type of foe that I only knew to well from the Cathedral of the Deep and Anor Londor attacked us from above and sucked the HP out of us while we were tied by its clutch.
Joey and me survived but the knight who had already been low on Estus didn‘t.
Another HP spell by Joey and we went on, as we had to because the way back to spawn the knight another time would only lead in disorientation in the depths of the labyrinth.
We headed up two long ladders and found ourselves back in the familiar lava environment.
As if all what we had already experienced wasn‘t sureal enough we suddenly found ourselves being attacked by sceletons that sat inside spinning wheels rolling towards us like madmans.
Thankfully those crazy foes didn‘t take much to defeat and we headed on only to find ourself in front of a massive drilling machine.
We both had many questions. Who build that drilling machine down here and why?
Yet for the moments its purpose had to remain a mystery.
Joey pulled a lever seemingly deactivating the machine and we headed back down to the Smouldering Lake!
Only now I realized these Giant Crabs which I only knew to well from the Road of Sacrifices, but like most foes also the crabs had lava all over their body giving them an even more terrifying look.
I was glad seeing that neither Joey was keen on fighting these and he just collected the items he needed and we went on into a cave area full of these tiny titanite creatures.
I thought that was all this cave had to offer, but I was wrong!
At its end we found a foe that only revealed itself as ghost to me.
However it seemed to be hostile to Joey, attacking him while I couldn‘t do much more than to watch the fight.
As I learned later this foe was Horace, the knight the NPC in the Catacombs of Carthus was desperately looking for.
As all the other NPCs in Souls games also this one could only be fought by the host of embers so I couldn’t do anything else than watch and hope Joey would make it on its own!
Yet to my surprise Joey, who often remained at the back, if anything giving support with his spells suddenly unleashed all his aggression and fought like he never had before.
Horance was dead, he made it!
We headed back onto the Smouldering Lake to the area where previously that giant worm had attacked me. But just in that second it suddenly occured to me that this drilling machine must‘ve been connected to that creature. Maybe it wasn‘t a worm after all but one and the same machinery that drilled itself through the demon ruins like a giant worm and now that the machine was deactivated also that thing was gone!
I couldn‘t describe the relive!
But now there was only one thing left to do: The boss fight!
I greatly appreciated the last HP spell before we entered the arena as I myself had no more than two flasks.
The Old Demon King was a giant demon with a blunt weapon.
Whielding his weapon emitted lava to the floor and with a punch to the ground he summoned giant lava rocks that fell to the ground like from a volcano erruption.
We fought hard, harder than ever and with brute force we managed to subdue the monster.
We did it! What an adventure! What an unbeatable squad!
Yhorm Who? Lord of what again?

Anyone felt bad about killing an npc?
I felt bad when I killed the giant that throws spears at you I didn't know you could be his friend but yea I killed him then I beat the game but gulit caught up with me so I restarted and became his friend
Which weapon should I go with?
Edit: I know I wrote Greatsword earlier but I actually meant to say Claymore, which is a completely different weapon
So by now if settled quite alright in Dark Souls 3.
There’s still a bit of learning to do but so far I’ve familiarized myself quite well with the core mechanics.
After some initial struggle I finally found my two favorites in terms of weapons to use:
1. The Irithyll Straight Sword
It appears to be a really solid weapon, which deals more base damage than most straight swords and deals frost damage on top.
The only real problem I have with it is that upgrading requires some special kind of titanite shard, which I don’t have any idea where to find at all.
Besides that by now I’ve collected ca. 20 titanite shards so by the time I’d find that special shard for Irithyll I could’ve easily upgraded any regular weapon to at least +4...
2. Claymore
The Claymore reminds me a lot of the Ludwig Holy Blade in BB and to my own surprise even has a very similar handling.
The problem is the weight of course, which probably forces me to unequip any shields in case I want to equip some heavier armor.
So these are my options right now. Which one should I go with?
Or do you have any other recommendations? Please let me know!
What is your favorite weapon to use?
What is your favorite Armour set?
For the soup!
Needed more attempts getting up here than getting through the poison swamps!
Glad to see that it has still not been patched in 2020 tho!
