If anyone doesn’t think being an Emissary seems to be worthwhile, keep this in mind: there’s always a multiplier active when playing as an Emissary. Sure, it’s more dangerous, but the boosts are pretty significant.

Sea of Thieves Guides • Fishing, Cooking, and Healing
Leveling up the Hunter’s Call faction in Sea of Thieves will likely mean a lot of fishing. Luckily though, it’s a simple, low-risk grind when playing solo or while killing time waiting for your crew. Searching barrels in shipwrecks is an easy way to find already perfectly cooked meats as well, including some occasional Kraken or Megalodon. Beyond selling though, it helps to know what benefits these items can give you.

Fishing requires a little patience, but it’s easy enough once you figure it out. Hunting something specific? Make sure you’re using the right bait in the right location, and possibly at the right time as well. Bait can be found in barrels or dug up on islands; leeches are near water, grubs are in the dry sand, and earthworms are in the grassy dirt. Some fish only spawn at night, in storms, beside shipwrecks, or during active battle near a skeleton fort. There are no guarantees, but you can certainly improve your chances by following along with one of the charts below:
Cool. You caught some fishies. Good job. They are worth the most when perfectly cooked though, and practically worthless if you burn them — so pay attention! For fish, look for the large puff of white smoke and wait a few more seconds for their eyes to turn completely white. The charts above give basic guides as well, but Grizlo’s is the most accurate. While you can get by easily enough watching fish or meat cook and listening to the audio cues from a skillet, this chart below gives you a solid guide and works best with a MultiTimer app:
Fishing done. Cooking done. But maybe you don’t want to sell them? Well, carrying cooked items or specific fruit may provide the most healing benefit for your measly five slots for food items. For the best benefits, see the infographics from #Hitbotc below:

I know. It doesn’t need to be taught. It’s a built-in fishing mini game type of experience that’s pretty intuitive.
