5.0 Honestly, I’ve played as far back as the 16 year old Pokémon fire red for the game boy advance, which is older than me, but overall since then I’ve played the games all the same in the respect that I train to high levels before I even start fighting gym battles and that really helped me towards the end. Overall I think this game was the 2nd best game I’ve ever bought, which won’t be brought up because it’s from a different realm of gaming on a different platform.
4.0 loved playing, its real easy to get sucked into the universe. but also the hop battles are way to easy like i get the games amed at children but even they would say these fights are easy. the graphics are great and unlike other games in the franchise you donf have to watch a realy long cutscene just to get exp share. but there are way to many cutscenes in this game like alot of cutscene breaking the feeling that ur a kid traversing the UK. also in my home country that's some points there
4.0 I would put this in my top 5 Pokémon games after Platinum, Black 2 and Heart Gold simply because its a fantastic game which brings in a variety of fun and lovable characters and Pokémon designs. The return of regional variants are a nice sight as they were loved in the Alola games, but this time Pokémon other than generation one had the spotlight shone on them as well as gaining new evolutions which we haven't seen since generation 4 (correct me if I'm wrong 😅). As well as all these things the inclusion of overworld spawns is a fantastic addition as it adds to the immersion of you being in the game and seeing these creatures roaming around and interacting with you in different ways. The story overall is definitely far from the best we've seen, however the idea of the darkest day and lore behind the legends is interested and brings a lot of questions about the Galar region but the thing that definitely stands out is creating the atmosphere that you are on a journey to the top with people from all over watching and cheering you on as well as not having to worry about taking on the huge threats which young teens shouldn't be worrying about when on their gym challenge unlike in the other entries in the franchise which I love as you just seemed like some kid going through the region collecting badges and taking down evil organisations without anyone taking notice or caring in the other entries. The final point of the game I want to talk about why this isn't as great as the other Pokémon games and it's just that there is no post game content to get stuck into after you beat the gym challenge and I feel like it would be the best if there where events that taken place like having legendaries from other generations cause a huge scene in the wild area or something after such as the battle frontier or something similar to the sevii islands. However this could all be fixed after the release of the DLC that Game Freak will be released in June and Fall or this year which seem like they are definitely going to be enjoyable and bring a breathe of freshness to sword and shield which will most likely change my rating from a 4 star to something better.
