Victini's Sweet Victory (For Pikachu22)
Bikutini, better known as Victini the victory Pokémon, but why? Well, let's find out!
(Dictionary: Nike is pronounced as Nigh-key)
Image: Ash feeding a skeptical Victini
Victini is the amalgamation of many ideas and cultures, so to start off with is the meaning to its name. "Vict" is from victory and "Tini" is in relation to its size, that teeny tiny little winner. You're probably wondering "How can a Pokémon with 5 type weaknesses ALWAYS win?"
Image: Greek Goddess of Victory, Nike
Well Victini is based on Nike the Greek Goddess of victory. Nike was said to ride around in a divine chariot bringing victory to any battlefield she passed by, as well as rewarding the victors with fame and glory. When you Romanize the name Nike, it becomes Victoria; quite similar to Victini and victory don't you think?
Image: Victini striking a V-for-victory pose
Okay, so the name and background makes sense now, but what about its design? Well, the title of this article was certainly a pun. Victini's design is based off a Japanese snack known as 'Usagi ringo' or rabbit apples, and they're kinda cute.
Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go butcher some apples trying to recreate this.
Xerneas the Immortal Giver of Life (For Pikachu22)
Xerneas is a beautiful Pokémon to admire, and not just for its looks either. There's a reason it's a pure Fairy type, but before that, here's some backstory.
Image: Xerneas, of the Aura Trio
Xerneas is based off of the creature known as the Eikþyrnir (Pronounced Eek-thur-nurr) in Norse mythology. It's a stag (male deer) that rests atop the Læraðr (Pronounced Lee-uhh-rah-therr) tree eating foliage. Læraðr has no clear translation but "Læ" can mean "harm" or "betrayal" (Yveltal?), though another pronunciation of it can mean "shelter" or "giver of protection" like Xerneas.
Image: Eikþyrnir in a tree overlooking the town
It's said that the Læraðr tree is connected to Yggdrasil, tree of life and if the Eikþyrnir consume life energy from the trees, then it makes perfect sense for Xerneas to be the immortal giver of life. When Xerneas uses too much life energy, it reverts back into a Læraðr tree and gathers energy for the next 1,000 years, but it cannot die.
Xerneas quite literally lives to give lives and bring balance to the world. Never showing its face or asking for thanks. Simply granting the inhabitants of the Pokémon multiverse life for as long as Yveltal sees fit, is what Xerneas is for.
I play every day and I will send gifts also raid invites if u r online and I will accept raids

Bulbasaur: Mammal, Reptile or Amphibian? (For Wild35x)
The Paleozoic and Mesozoic era was home to the ancestors of today's animals, one of which was known as the Dicynodont — a herbivorous mammal-like reptile of the late Permian and Triassic periods, with... beaked jaws and no teeth apart from two tusks in the upper jaw of the male, sound familiar?
Though the artists for all 151 Kanto Pokémon were technically Atsuko Nishida, Motofumi Fujiwara and Shigeki Morimoto, Ken Sugimori was also involved as the lead character/art designer and he claims that Bulbasaur is based on frogs and onions.
The truth is... Bulbasaur really is an amphibian. The translation of its name, Fushigidane is Miracle Seed, but the American names tried to hit close to home by giving it a more 'cool' sounding name. Hence bulb, like a bulbous onion and light "bulb" in reference to solar beam as well as "asaur" from dinosaur since its mouth area was definitely inspired by the Dicynodont.
Now when you think of Venusaur's Poison powder, Stun Spore and Sleep Powder, does it make sense? It's a poisonous frog.

Sorry about the quality, I'm not the best with technology tbh.
Pokémon Region History: Kanto's Pallet Town
Have you ever wondered what goes into the design behind each region and what they're based off of? Well, lucky for you, I'll save you the research!
As Red begins his journey in Pallet Town you're swaddled in a very calm and serene atmosphere. That cozy nature is based on Machida City, Tokyo, Shizuoka prefecture, where Satoshi Tajiri, the creator of Pokémon was born and raised.
Image: Yakushiike Park, Machida City, Tokyo
Many of you may know the name Ken Sugimori, but he is the lead character and art designer, and not the game creator. So if you're a fan of Pocket Monsters, thank Mr. Tajiri for his creative efforts and passion that brought us misfits together. Oh yeah, Pokémon was once called CapuMon and were meant to live in capsules, but they ditched the idea for Pocket Monsters, later abbreviated to Pokémon and well, the rest is history.

Fun fact to end off this rant: The Pokémon games were released before the TV show and movies.

Daily Pokémon Guessing Game 3
I have no contestants or shame, so here we are again. Today I want to talk about a Pokémon that doesn't get as much love as it deserves from the community. But before that, the rules:
I will post my next 4* Pokémon tomorrow and you each have ONE guess as to what type(s) of Pokémon it is, and I'll screenshot it for proof, so no editing your comments. I'll be giving away 200 coins if you're the first to guess correctly, and it's free to play so come get your money. Now let's get into the good part.
Meet Snorlax, this loveable blob was introduced in Pokémon Red, Blue and Green in 1996 in the typical Snorlax fashion, taking a nap in the middle of the road. What most didn't know was that though Snorlax is absurdly slow, it boasts AMAZING survivability for a Pokémon, much less a normal type.
All it took was Rest, Body Slam, Ice Beam and Amnesia and you had a lethal wall of a Pokémon that would paralyze, freeze, recover AND boost its stats. The only thing stopping Snorlax is an early heart attack.
This concludes my love for Snorlax.
Rayquaza - The King of Sacrifice (For Pikachu22)
Rayquaza, the Sky High Pokémon. It's said that Rayquaza soars the skies protecting mankind from meteors and alien threats — ie: Deoxys —and that it never rests, but how could that be? No matter your strength, even Arceus needs rest. Well, let's get right into the strongest dragons and how they co-exist.
Image: Hoenn Champion, Brendan's Rayquaza
Rayquaza's design is based on the Japanese dragon known as Ryū and its name is composed of two parts, Ray — relating to Sun rays and Ray guns in sci-fi movies — and Quasar a supermassive blackhole ranging between the mass of of a million - a billion suns.
Image: A Quasar
As you can see there are more than one Rayquaza shown here and that's not even including Sinnoh Champion, Cynthia's. So what does that mean? Well, nobody knows for sure what's at the other end of a black hole, but Rayquaza does, hence the black, red and yellow shiny in reference to a Quasar.
Image: A Wild Shiny Rayquaza
So one could theorize that Rayquazas travel from alternate timelines of reality where mankind has been wiped out or the noble dragons are no longer needed, and so in order to serve the people as Arceus ordered, Rayquaza never FULLY rests. They behave like sharks, moving even in their sleep by keeping half of their brain awake while sleeping to stay alert while resting. Doing this allows Rayquaza to protect the Earth alone or with others of its kind.
Rayquaza truly had to lose everything to earn it all and that's what makes them the Kings of Sacrifice.
Daily Pokémon Reveal Guessing Game
So instead of posting every 4*, shiny or legendary I own all at once, I decided to make a little game of it. In today's spotlight is Metagross, my favourite Steel/Psychic type in the whole series.
I will post my next 4* Pokémon tomorrow and you each have ONE guess what type(s) of Pokémon it is, and I'll screenshot it for proof, so no editing comments. I'll be giving away 200 coins if you're the first to guess correctly, and it's free to play so come get your money.
Daily Pokémon Guessing Game 2
The Hoenn region is my personal favourite region due to the nostalgia. Unfortunately I have never used a Salamence before because as a kid I didn't know that there was more to do than beating the Elite 4. They evolve by jumping off of cliffs and longing to fly hard enough, isn't that weird? In fact, the grey parts on their bodies are armoured to prevent falling damage.
I will post my next 4* Pokémon tomorrow and you each have ONE guess what type(s) of Pokémon it is, and I'll screenshot it for proof, so no editing comments. I'll be giving away 200 coins if you're the first to guess correctly, and it's free to play so come get your money.

Pokémon GO: AMA
When starting out, you had no idea what you were doing, right? It's alright, we all start at the same point. Hopefully this will be of use to you, so you can also become the very best that no one ever was.
Beginning (Level 1-24):
-Catch EVERYTHING. It doesn't matter if you want it or not.
-Only battle gyms with low HP or with friends
-Don't waste your potions/revives on weak Pokémon
-Send the same group of 20 friends gifts daily
-Before you get Ultra & Best friend use a lucky egg for 100k & 200k xp respectively
-While lucky egg is active, mass evolve Pokémon for even more XP
-Learn to use the filters, folders and PokéDex
-Start developing a PVP team of 3
Middle (Level 25-39):
Takeover gyms at night before bed, trust me
-Participate in as many Mega raids and 5* raids as possible
-Obtain a gold gym badge for every gym nearby for increased items
-Golden razzberries are ONLY for legendaries and Pokémon that are rare, hard to catch, and fully evolved ie: Lapras, Metagross, Tyranitar, Haxorus, etc.
-ALWAYS use incense during CD's (community days)
-If your phone is compatible, get the Go PLUS or the Got-Cha (auto catch/spin bracelet ONLY uses Pokéballs)
End (Level 40-50)
-Honestly, just take your time expanding your Pokémon and bag storage
-2,000-3,000 Pokémon storage and 1,500-2,000 item storage will help you
Stockpile premium passes for Darkrai, Mega Rayquaza and Mega Mewtwo X & Y
-Shadow Mewtwo with Psychic & Psystrike is the best DPS without mega evolving
-Battle in any league while at home for even more rewards
-Don't burnout, take breaks when you need to
-If you're not having fun anymore, reevaluate your playstyle and rediscover what got you to love the game
-It will take years for the average player, be patient and try to knock out those level up tasks efficiently
-Lucky eggs + friendship bonus will carry you the rest of the way so keep on sending gifts
Good luck, trainers! 😊

You Cannot Long Distance Trade in Pokémon GO
I see a lot of people asking for certain Pokémon or offering others, but you have to be within 100 meters to trade. For a brief period the 100m was increased to 12km, however, global trade means less money for Niantic in the form of incense, raid passes and egg incubators.
Niantic REALLY likes money and is ran by Giovanni. Better waddle those footsies if you want a specific Pokémon.
