Anyways, I was really frustrated and needed to make a post about this. If you don't wanna read it, that's fine, but if you do, it is appreciated, so thank you.
I know we've all beaten 6 Team Rocket Grunts and after relishing in our victory, we were gifted a Rocket Radar in order to challenge one of the 3 Team Rocket Bosses; Arlo, Cliff and Sierra. When this update came out I absolutely loved it. It brought back excitement in Pokemon Go for me as there was a cool new challenge for us to try, but now it feels like Niantic is up to their same old boring tactics of pushing Pokemon on us that aren't really wanted.
Let's take a look at the case of these 3 bosses for example. When you challenge one of these 3, which can be an enormous pain to beat, if you emerge victorious, you'll be rewarded one of these 3 options for all your hard work:
For defeating Arlo: Pineco
For defeating Cliff: Grimer
For defeating Sierra: Lapras
Yeah, you read that right, 3 Pokemon that are mainly useless and only cool if you get them as shinies (Lapras and Grimer especially imo). And to be honest, it's unfair of me me to pick on these 3 only, as this tactic has been implemented in almost anyway Niantic can use it: Research Breakthrough rewards, Battle League rewards, Pokestop challenge rewards, and Hell, even eggs are chock full of Pokemon we aren't ever gonna use. And in the off chance that you do get yourself a useful Pokemon, their CP's are always too low to make them even useful for battles!
I'm not trying to be blasphemous towards this game, I've been a diehard fan since it first came out 4 years ago (aaah, remember when times were simpler and we would walk around with our friends looking for Pokemon together? And we would see dozens, if not hundreds of strangers doing the same, showing us that we weren't the only ones who loved Pokemon? Yes, those were the days 👴). I'm just pointing out the major issues in this game that make it less appealing to those who play it, especially those who have been playing it since it's initial launch, like me.
I hope what I wrote made sense (I'm too tired to proof read it again) and that I'm not alone with getting frustrated by these annoying shenanigans Niantic pulls (You'd think I'm 70 because I use the word "Shenanigans", but I'm not even 22 yet 💀). What is some of your criticism of this game? Do you agree with what I said? Am I wrong?
