The Dangers of Hacking in Among Us and How to Avoid Them
Hacks have been plaguing Among Us for some time now. The practice has increased especially with the rising political tensions, but it has been an issue since the game ramped up in popularity. There will always be those who want to win no matter what, and what better way to do that than to get toys that only you get to use each game? Let’s take a look at some of the hacks that are running rampant, how it affects the game, and how to avoid them.
One hack that we’ve talked about in the past is the Eric Loris hack, one that blows up the public chat with repeated demands for players to visit a specific Trump-supporting YouTube channel. While the presidential election is over and this hack will blow over in time, others could potentially use similar techniques to spread other sentiments, preventing people from properly playing the game.
Another more recent hack is allowing Crew Members to vent in the same vein as Imposters. And while this could get some of the good guys voted out due to a misunderstanding, the ability to travel so quickly gives the Crew Members a huge advantage, making some matches far too easy to cheese. Similarly, some have found ways to close doors to prevent Imposters from getting to them, leading to moments of frustration and annoyance from the team already at a disadvantage.
So yes, hacks make the game less balanced and lead to generally worse experiences, that much seems obvious. Hacks can be a fun way to play if all players have access to those hacks, but even then, there are so many ways to customize and play Among Us within the settings provided that this feels very unnecessary. Not only that, but it harms the game in the process, making for more bad experiences than good ones.
Luckily, InnerSloth has been working hard to crack down on hacking, banning anyone caught in the act of doing so. The anti-cheat program being used, while not perfect, has done a solid job this far susing out those who look to cheat and booting them from games. This isn’t a perfect solution, though, as this can also lead to teams being down a player or matches suddenly ending due to someone getting kicked. In other words, it’s a partial solution that highlights why these hacks don’t benefit the game at all.
So, how do you avoid running into them? Outside of only playing Private matches, you’ll want to make sure that you’re always reporting folks you suspect of cheating. Don’t get too trigger-happy about it and just accuse anyone. If Among Us has taught us anything, it’s to be cautious of when you suggest someone is being traitorous. Additionally, be aware of the kinds of hacks that are being used. This will better allow you to spot instances of this and be able to follow up with the report. Lastly, leave matches if hacking gets out of hand in it. If no one chooses to play with those players that hack, then they don’t have fun, and eventually could stop hacking so people will play with them again.

The Perfect Discord Bots for an Among Us Server
Among Us is already a great game to be playing these days, especially due to the great community surrounding it. And thanks to that great community, a lot of Discord bots have been created to better enable play for those of us chatting online. That being said, it can be hard to pick and choose what bots will serve your group best, based on the sheer volume of content being made in support of the game. In order to more easily sort through your options, here are some of my top recommendations of Discord bots to help improve your gaming experience.
It may seem obvious that a bot called “Among Us Bot” might be a good pick, but this one stands out primarily because of what it does a good job of organizing the whole experience. Primarily, it’s role is to better set up chat functions within the group, making it much easier to play the game without getting distracted by having to constantly adjust your speaking capabilities.
“Dropship” is another helpful bot, specifically if you’re searching for games online. Using this bot, you can input the code for a game that you’re running, sending out to a server for easier access. This makes starting a game far less painful and time-consuming, helping you play more and stress less.
Similarly, “Among UX” lets you spot active games on servers that you can join via unique gifs. Any games that are actually off-line will be taken down pretty quickly, as the bot is able to identify those and remove them without much issue. This means you’ll have an easier time seeing what games are out there for you to hop onto, all while using distinct images to differentiate.
Finally, “Crewmate” is another solid solution to preventing mid-game chatting, automatically muting players based on their status in the game. While I have not used this one personally, I imagine that this effect extends to those players who have died, making sure that players who shouldn’t be talking at a given time can’t.
Now with all that said, do you need a Discord bot to play Among Us? While not necessary, I would highly recommend giving some of them a try. Using Discord is the only way I choose to play Among Us at this point, and these bots can make your job so much easier. Why waste your time with the tedium of setting up the game when a program can do it for you? It’s that simple.

This post and guide to becoming the best imposter you can be will be not only educational, but very helpful. This will make you guys be more competitive and win more of your imposter games.
So first things first, if your ever playing among us in the same lobby over and over and over again with the same players you never want to change your mood or attitude. You always wanna play the same when your crew mate or imposter so it’s not a dead giveaway when you are imposter.
You also want to use your vents very carefully because on the map skeld even if your not in the same room as the vent they can still see the vent open and close so if they see a vent open and than you coming out of there they will know it was you who vented, so you always want to use vents very very carefully.
You will also want to find alibis so when people think your the imposter (which you are in this occasion) they can stick up for you. The main way to get alibis are from trying to stay with people for a long period of time so they think they you would’ve killed them if you was imposter.
