Alien: Isolation used to be my favorite game, but I've realized it's definitely Far Cry 4
I used to consistently brag to all my friends about Alien: Isolation and how great it was. I still have an immense amount of respect for it but I realized that it actually wasn't my favorite game simply because of a few things in Far Cry that made me so inexplicably happy.
Quick story. I have a Instagram account where I post game clips as often as I can remember to and I was looking for clips to post and found my Far Cry 4 ones. I didn't think much of some of them until I came across one with a dope reload animation and I remember sitting there watching it for almost 20 minutes. And I was still at work.
When I had played the game the first time through, I had completely screwed up the ending. NOT SPOILERS but I had just made the completely wrong decision and I was more angry than I had ever been in my life about a game.
I had gone the entire game not messing anything up and I was happy with my story changing decisions so far, right up until the end.
I have a clip that won't upload to Moot for some reason, but it's me completely going wack on everything in rage and shock from my bad decision.
I never rage quit. And I'm not just saying that.
But then.
Instead of throwing the game away, I picked it back up, and played through the whole game again completely out of spite. I killed everyone and collected everything on the map as fast as possible. And this time I made the game end the way I had wanted to.
Only when the credits were rolling that I actually realized it wasn't out of spite. It was because I enjoyed the game so much up to that point, I was really just mad at myself for screwing up the end.
Then I put up the game and didn't pick it up for a long time.
I made memes of Sabal telling Ajay how much Mohan would be proud.
I thought about the Shrangri-La way more than I thought I would have.
I posted videos of random encounters I had.
But recently I was going through a few clips for my account and remembered the immense amount of hours I had spent, how much I had enjoyed not only it but the previous Far Cry titles and I rediscovered my appreciation for it.
Alien: Isolation is a fantastic survival horror that I endeared and spent so many nights terrified playing. And I had loved it. But Far Cry has always tried to be more fun than any game that wants to stick to a story.
The mission where I you have to go kill a bunch of Honey Badgers just because some guy's wife was eaten by them and then Ajay thinks he's messing around and laughs about his wife dying is HILARIOUS to me and I'm so glad it exists.
Anyways. Thought I would share that. I don't really have a good way to close it but I just wanted to tell you how I realized I didn't need to have one favorite game and I really appreciate the emphasis on fun Far Cry wants to put over pretty much anything else.
Can't wait to buy and play Far Cry 5 when I get the money to.

Far Cry 6 Leaked
Ubisoft recently confirmed that 5 triple-A games will launch between April 2020 and March 2021. Ubisoft revealed that 3 of the games are Gods and Monsters, Dogs Legion, and Rainbow Six Quarantine, but last two of them are not confirmed yet. While Ubisoft did not spill the beans on these games, but the short announced that the other two games as “biggest franchises”, and it might be new Assassin’s Creed game as well as Far Cry 6. This report comes from Jason Schreier of Kotaku. Schreier is known to be one of the most reliable sources in the video game industry, so his claim hold a lot more weight than most. Schreier did not elaborate on the new Far Cry, but Ubisoft plans to launch one of the games between now and March 2021.
