Hero Spotlight: Oliver
“Feel the warmth of trees!”
“Oliver, who had been left out because of her small body, prevented the forest from burning down when it was threatened by the dark energy with power of water she gained from special fruits. Ever since, all of the fairies in the forest started to follow her.”
We’re back with another Along with the Gods Hero Spotlight, featuring Oliver!
If you missed our previous edition featuring Styx, you can read it here:
Oliver is a Water Magic natural 5-star Hero and is one of the premiere Magic Heroes in Along with the Gods. Oliver is exceptional as a PvP Hero, being one of the biggest threats in the current Arena metagame, and is highly proficient as a PvE Hero in Scenario and Raids as well. She should be on the radar of every player.
Read on to find out how to obtain and make the most of this awesome Hero!
[How to Obtain Oliver]
Oliver is obtainable through various methods in-game, including through Hero Combination in the Temple of Heroes. This makes her obtainable for free, and with how good Oliver is, this is a huge boon that all players should take advantage of. This also makes her relatively easy to Awaken and Transcend for a 5-star Hero.
To summon Oliver through Hero Combination you will require Max Level 5-star evolved copies of Orelia, Turan, Harley and Igra. Make sure to save any copies you obtain of these Heroes!
You can obtain Orelia, an Earth Magic Hero, through Hero Combination at the Temple of Heroes as well, requiring Max Level 4-star Evolved copies of Blacky, Demon Warrior, Evil Ghost Priest and Wolf Shaman. You can also obtain her through various Hero Summon Scrolls.
Turan is a Water Magic Hero who can be found through Hero Summoning Scrolls as well as by collecting his Light Shards from the Raid Shop, which can be purchased using Ancient Coins that drop from defeating Raid Bosses. You’ll need 120 Turan Light Shards to summon him.
Harley can be obtained through various Hero Summoning Scrolls, in particular the Selective Hero Summoning Scroll that all players receive after completing Stage 1–10 in Scenario Mode. We recommend selecting Harley with this scroll, as he’s a great asset in the early game to help players get through Scenario Mode and can then be used as material to combine Oliver as you progress further into the game and no longer need to use Harley.
You can read more about the Scroll choices here:
Igra is the easiest Hero on this list to obtain as a natural 3-star Hero. You can obtain her easily by gathering her Light Shards from Heroic Dungeon Raids or through various Hero Summoning Scrolls.
You can also obtain Oliver through various types of Hero Summon Scrolls: Premium, Water, Legendary, Mythical Hero Scrolls and occasionally Special Hero Scrolls depending on which Heroes are on rotation in the Special Summoning List.
[Oliver Skills Breakdown]
Oliver has an incredible array of skills with useful effects. While she may not have the pure damage output of an Alexis or Patricia, she still packs a punch and can make up for it with the powerful effects she possesses. She’s an excellent source of Crowd Control (CC) and also thrives in the current Magic Hero reliant meta with skills that counter critical hits and other Magic Heroes.
Oliver’s Active Skill Magical Fruits inflicts 350% Magic damage on all enemies with an additional 12% of bonus damage per harmful effect. It also Clusters enemies towards the center of the battlefield while reducing their Attack Speed by 30% for 10 seconds.
Artificial Acid Fruit will target the enemy with the highest Magic Power and inflict 330% magic damage and explodes on contact to also damage any nearby enemies to the target. It also inflicts the Magic Amor Break effect which reduces an opponent’s Magic Defense by 100% for 6 seconds, and as if that wasn’t enough it also Freezes the target.
Squirrel Fruit is one of Oliver’s signature skills, inflicting 310% Magic damage to all enemies while decreasing their received recovery by 300% for 10 seconds, with the devastating effect of transforming opponents into squirrels with a 50% chance for 5 seconds. This leaves them unable to take any action at all while they’re in that state. Transforming an opponent’s key Heroes into Squirrels at the right time can completely change the course of a battle and being able to severely reduce healing for 10 seconds can be incredibly useful, especially in certain PvE situations such as Infinite Tower and against Raid Bosses.
Seed of Revenge inflicts the Petrifying Curse effect on any enemy who lands critical damage on Oliver with a 100% chance for 3 seconds. This is an incredible passive which hard counters big meta threats such as Zenon, Alexis and Lizzy who rely on critical hits and/or have skills that guarantee critical hits. It also cripples any opponents (un)lucky enough to land a random critical hit.
Magical Power Leaf is a simple but very powerful passive, increasing Oliver’s Magic Power by a massive 25% and increasing her damage output significantly. This also allows you some flexibility in your Rune choices as you can easily afford to pick a Rune with HP to increase Oliver’s survivability over Magic Power without losing too much power.
[Choosing Oliver’s Awakenings]
Awakening I: Magic Power
Oliver’s damage output is calculated using her Magic Power, a straightforward Awakening choice.
Awakening II: Poison Gas
Oliver gains more damage over time with the Poison Gas Awakening, which can be especially dangerous when paired with her CC abilities and heal block skill and her opponents are sitting ducks, although the Magical Shield Awakening is a viable choice as well, especially as Oliver is on the frailer side as a Magic Hero.
Awakening III: Attack Speed
Higher Attack Speed will allow Oliver to get off her attacks more frequently . This is especially important for her Skill which can be a game-changer. The current meta emphasizes Attack Speed and Crowd Control as well.
Awakening IV: Magic Power
Oliver’s damage output is calculated using her Magic Power, a straightforward Awakening choice.
Awakening V: Either
You can pick either here depending on your personal preference. Keep in mind that you’ll most likely be using multiple Magic Heroes in this metagame, especially in PvP, and that their Awakening team boosts stack.
Some players would argue that reducing your opponent’s Accuracy is more effective as it amplifies any Evasion boosts (Accuracy reduction runs off of a separate calculation) you may have on your team, plus the fact that you can get Accuracy boosts for your team from alternative routes such as from Rune sub-stats and Accessories.
[Choosing Oliver’s Accessories]
The best Accessories for Oliver are a set of Divine or Immortal Accessories. However, Divine and Immortal Accessories are incredibly rare and difficult to obtain, especially as a full set or even mixed set.
Most players will find themselves equipping Oliver with a set of Magic Accessories, which boosts Oliver’s Magic Power, until they can acquire Divine accessories.
The stat bonuses you should be aiming for on your Accessories are: Accuracy, Attack Speed, Magic Power, Physical Defense and Critical Rate/Damage.
[Choosing Runes for Oliver]
Oliver should be Runed with the goal of increasing her overall damage output and getting her Skills off as quickly and often as possible. Oliver does well with standard Magic Hero Rune set-ups such as Warrior/Philosopher, Warrior/Evasion or Warrior/Vampire.
Oliver can make use of Evasion Runes, which boosts Evasion to increase her survivability by avoiding more hits, which can be a problem for Oliver, until she’s Transcended and gains a 30% HP buff on top of a general stats buff for each Transcendence level she gains.
Warrior Runes are one of the best Rune types in the game and are a very solid option for Oliver. A set of two Warrior Runes increase your Inability Effect Resistance by 50%. Inability Effects are deadly, especially in Arena where hitting first is of the utmost importance. Resistance against Inability Effects is also extremely valuable in high-level PvE content such as Hell Mode Scenario, Ancient Drake Raids and Hell Mode Infinite Tower, where many enemies will be able to inflict Inability Effects and punish you severely while you’re incapacitated. You can obtain Warrior Runes as a drop reward from the Nhumer Raid.
Philosopher Runes are a PvP focused Rune type, that are still useful in PvE situations, that give you a 10% boost to your starting Energy levels for a set of 2. In the current PvP meta where battles can be determined simply by whose DPS Magic Hero can get their Skills off first, Philosopher Runes are incredibly powerful, especially when multiple or all team members possess a set. Philosopher Runes can be obtained as a drop from the Python Raid.
Vampire Runes are a solid choice for Oliver, a set of two will grant her a 20% Vampire Effect boost. This will increase her longevity and with Oliver’s high damage output she’ll receive plenty of health recovery in return. Magic Heroes often utilize and benefit greatly from Vampire Runes due to their natural frailty. Vampire Runes are incredibly useful in PvE situations and decent in PvP. They’re also relatively easy to farm as a reward from the Kraken Raid.
Recommended Rune Stat Bonuses:
I: Magic Power/HP
II: Magic Power
III: Attack Speed
IV: Attack Speed
Complementary sub-stats you should be aiming for on your Runes are: Attack Speed, Magic Power and Accuracy. Having some HP and other boosts such as Energy Acquired in the sub-stats can also be helpful. You can adjust which type of sub-stats your Rune has through Rune Smelting by using Gems.
[Oliver Usage Tips]
Oliver is deadly in Arena mode due to her damage output, multiple CC capabilities and her Passive which freezes any opponent who lands a critical hit on her, which is a hard counter to several Heroes who rely on Critical Hits such as Zenon. Oliver is best paired with at least one other Magic Hero such as Alexis or Patricia.
Oliver has a decent Leader Skill, increasing the backline’s Defense and Magic Defense by 20%, which can be very useful for players who haven’t yet acquired Styx or Prospera.
Opportunities for great synergy exist with Oliver’s Skills such as pairing Oliver with another Hero who targets opponents with the highest Magic Power to eliminate opposing Magic Heroes. Oliver pairs well with other Magic Heroes in general due to her Magic Armor Break Skill, which can overwhelm weakened targets easily.
Oliver’s Cluster effect also works well with Heroes who have AOE skills, grouping them together and making it easier for her teammates to hit targets. Her Freeze and squirrel effects in general are easy to integrate and take advantage of and Oliver is very splashable overall. These CC effects are also extremely helpful in modes such as Exploration and Infinite Tower.
You can also aim to combine her with another CC heavy Hero such as the newly released Melee Hero Wallace or Zenon, for example, to completely pin your opponents down.
You can also pair Oliver with Heroes such as Prospera and Styx to help boost her longevity. Propsera in particular is seeing a lot of usage in the current metagame due to her Leader Skill, which increases the HP of the backline by 50%, and overall utility.
Oliver is a top performer in the Nhumer, Havok and Flame Drake Raids, especially with her Attribute advantage as a Water Hero over the Fire Raid Bosses, and she pairs well with other Water Magic Heroes who can take advantage of her ability to inflict Magic Armor Break on Raid Bosses. Her Heal Block Skill is also very useful in the Kraken Raid. You can find our guides to each Raid Boss in out Tips and Guides section!
Oliver is one of the best Magic Heroes in the game and given how easy she is to obtain it should be a no-brainer for players to work on acquiring her as soon as possible. It should also be a priority to Transcend her due to the ease of acquiring additional copies of her relative to other 5-star Heroes and the benefits you gain from having a Transcended Oliver.
New players, or any player at any stage of the game, should consider Oliver and Lin their priorities to obtain and upgrade, as they can help speed up your early progress and will remain extremely useful for the entire game.
We hope you enjoyed this Hero Spotlight article and that it helps you make the most of this fantastic Hero! Let us know what you think of Oliver or any other thoughts you may have in the comments below!

Ancient Drake Raid Guide
Your complete guide to taking on the Ancient Drake Raids!
Hello Knights! We’re back with another Raid guide for you, this time we’ll be giving you all the info you need to dominate the Python Raid! If you missed out on our previous guides to the Python, Havok, Pantahras, Nhumer and Kraken Raids you can read them here:
Players will probably recognize the Flame Drake from Along with the Gods’ title screen and social media and this fearsome Boss deserves their status. The Drakes in the Ancient God Dungeon Raids are the end-game Bosses of Along with the Gods, especially on their highest difficulty setting of Hard. The rewards for completing the Drake Raids are well worth it however, with several highly prized items being given to players.
You can receive Legendary Hero Scroll pieces, Mythical Hero Scroll pieces, Styx Light Shards, Keys and Mileage Points, with the higher value drops of Awakening Incarnations, Styx Light Shards and Mythical Hero Scroll Pieces dropping more frequently at the higher levels of difficulty. Farming the Drake Raids are the most efficient method of obtaining Awakening Incarnations in the game, and are incredibly valuable as a resource.
These Drake Raids will be the truest test of your team’s PvE capabilities in the game.
Read on to find out how to prepare yourself for the ultimate challenge.
The Drake Raid has three versions, corresponding with the Attributes of Earth, Fire and Water and three difficulty settings for each of Easy, Normal, Hard. The Drake Raid is only available at certain times of the day. Each Raid session rotates through the different versions of the Drake Boss so take note of the times and which Drake is available.
While they may have different Attributes, their core abilities and strategy are similar, you’ll just have to adjust for the Attribute match-up and the differences between Heroes of each Attribute.
[Drake Skills Breakdown]
All three versions of the Ancient Drake Raid Boss are classified as Melee enemies and will deal Physical damage with their attacks and so the general strategy is similar for each.
Deadly Blow inflicts 200% Physical damage on all your team members while also Stunning them for 2 seconds. This attack has a short recovery time and you need to be careful, having Heroes who can help your team resist Inability Effects is going to be important to prevent you from constantly being Stunned.
Evil Wings drops meteors from the sky to inflict 230% physical damage on all enemies with 5 hits. It also puts the target under Slowdown effect, by 50%, for 7 seconds and decreases your Attack Power, by 30%, for 10 seconds.
Destruction in Dark shoots a powerful laser to all enemies to inflict 270% physical damage and removes all beneficial effects. This is a devastating attack that deals large damage to all your Heroes while removing their beneficial effects.
The Drake’s Heart passive is the primary reason that Attribute match-up is so important in the Ancient Drake Raids and makes using Attribute weak Heroes inadvisable. It enhances the Drake’s Attribute advantage by 20%, in addition to the base 30% buff/debuff from Attribute match-ups.
The Strong Scale passive allows a Drake to recover 1% HP for each attack it evades. This means having Heroes with high accuracy through Runes, Skills and Passives is important as missed attacks can quickly replenish a Drake’s health bar and make them difficult to finish off.
[Team Tips and Battle Strategy]
You’ll want to build a team that is resilient to Physical attacks as Ancient Drakes are Melee enemies with high Physical damage output. You can achieve this by using Heroes that boost your team’s Defense or negate damage, such as Divana and Atmos. You’ll also need to balance this defensive solidity with enough offensive output to finish the Drakes within a reasonable period of time to prevent them from receiving their Attack power and Attack Speed boosts as the battle grows longer. Your Support Heroes should also be able to keep your team healthy with healing abilities that can outpace the amount of damage being done by the Drake and prevent your team from being wiped out.
Your team will need to be fully evolved and Awakened to complete Easy stages while Normal and Hard will require you to Transcend some or all of your Heroes to complete them, especially if you want to farm these stages reliably. Accuracy is an important aspect of the Drake Raid that shouldn’t be overlooked, as each missed attack will lead to 1% of the Drake’s HP being recovered, and this can quickly stack up, which compounds the issue of not being able to land damage on the Drake.
You can implement damage over time effects such as Bleed and Poison to help combat this ability. Time is very much of the essence here. Other helpful effects in general include any Defense lowering effects, especially Lin’s Armor Break effect, Slowdown and Weaken to reduce the Drake’s damage and make him easier to take down quickly.
You should also make sure you have powerful Leader Skills such as Prospera, Styx and Atmos to maximize your team’s capabilities.
One unique element of these battles is that as time goes on the Drakes receive boosts to both their Attack Power and Attack Speed, so it’s imperative that you end the battle quickly before they become overwhelmingly powerful. After a boost or two Ancient Drakes can become incredibly difficult to combat so you need to keep this in mind when deciding on how to approach the Drake Raid.
We’ll break down which Heroes to to use in each Drake Raid by Attribute. In general you’ll want to use Heroes that either have, ideally, the Attribute advantage or are Attribute neutral.
We strongly advise against using Heroes with a weak Attribute match-up due to the inherent strength of the Drakes as well as their Passive Drake’s Heart, with exceptions for cases, such as using Prospera in the Flame Drake Raid for her universally useful Leader Skill. Due to the Drakes’ strength the best Heroes to use are generally Ancient Gods and others in the upper echelon of Heroes such as Lin and Glen.
[Water Attribute Heroes]
Zemer is a Water Tank Hero with several important Skills for assisting your team, especially with his Inability Resistance Effects and boosts to your team’s Physical Defense.
You can read more about Zemer here:
Oliver is one of the marquee Heroes in Along with the Gods and she shines in the Ancient Drake Raids. While one of her best assets, the ability to Transform opponents into squirrels, is negated against Raid Bosses, she’s still highly effective, especially with her ability to block an enemy from healing. Drakes recover 1% HP for each attack evaded which can quickly stack up so this is a very helpful ability. Oliver is also relatively easy to obtain and Transcend given that she’s a Combination Hero in the Temple of Heroes.
Atmos is an Ancient Goddess Hero and is also the strongest Tank in the game. She provides numerous game changing benefits such as providing a Shield which negates damage, as well as protecting your team from all Harmful Effects. Atmos is highly recommended for use in the Storm and Flame Drake Raids.
Melvin is the most easily acquired and upgraded Heroes on this list and despite being a natural 3-star Hero is one of the best Raid Heroes in the game. With the correct Runes and Awakenings he becomes extremely durable and capable of surviving and inflicting a steady stream of damage throughout a battle. He also reduces the enemy’s Attack while boosting your team’s Critical Hit rate too. You can read more about Melvin in his Hero Spotlight article here:
Elheim is a Raid specialist Magic Hero and is a reliable damage nuke, especially against Fire Attribute enemies. Her HP% attacks and Poison effects are a highly effective method of bringing down Raid Bosses’ HP and she’s on the level of Alexis when it comes to PvE situations.
Ramia is the most prominent of the Water Support Heroes, and she possesses several unique characteristics that make her a good pick against the Flame Drake Raid Boss. Ramia also has the ability to disturb harmful effect removal which can help keep your team in tip-top shape.
Alexis is an Ancient God Hero and stands out as one of the most powerful damage dealing Heroes in the game and is an extremely useful Hero in any given scenario. He will be a key Hero, especially in the Flame and Storm Drake Raids.
Earth Attribute Heroes
Lin is the Queen of Raids and her ability to deal large amounts of damage to Raid Bosses while also supporting the rest of your team will be invaluable, especially when she has the Attribute advantage as she does against the Storm Drake. She will likely be your MVP in the Storm Drake Raid.
Patricia is one of the premier Magic Heroes in Along with the Gods, and her incredible damage output combined with her various debuffs makes her an incredibly useful Hero in both PvP and PvE situations.
Blith is one of the sturdiest Tanks in the game and as a natural 4-star Hero is easily acquired and upgraded. He provides a range of Support functions such as buffing your team as well as providing substantial healing, which is unique and very helpful coming from the Tank slot.
Marcus is an underrated Earth Support Hero with several highly desirable abilities for the Drake Raids. He can bestow the Vampire Effect on his allies while also healing them and inflicting a number of debuffs on his opponents.
Glen is one of the best Melee Heroes in the game and he shines against the Storm and Earth Drakes. Runed and Awakened correctly he has the bulk to rival any Tank while also being able to deal the damage of a top-tier Melee Hero.
Prospera is an Ancient God Hero and her Leader Skill, which increases the health of all Heroes in the backline by 50%, is one of the best in the game. Besides her excellent and incredibly useful Leader Skill, she’s a great Hero in her own right with several Skills that deal great damage as well as boost herself and her teammate.
Divana is one of the best Support Heroes in the game and is especially suited to performing well in the Drake Raids. Her unique ability to create a shield for herself and all allies which negates any and all damage is invaluable and one of the most powerful Skills in the game. She can also heal your team and provide buffs to Physical Defense and Attack which are, again, well-suited to the Ancient Drake Raids.
[Fire Attribute Heroes]
Styx is the premier Support Hero in Along with the Gods and his unique Skills and abilities will be invaluable against the Ancient Drake Raid Bosses, particularly the Earth and Flame Drakes. His Leader Skill is also very useful, giving a 20% boost to the Attack and Magic Attack of all backline members.
Currently Styx is available from the Temple of Heroes through Light Shard summoning. You can get Styx without having to randomly obtain him from a summon scroll from Light Shards as rewards from Daily and Weekly Quests as well as from the Ancient God Pack in the Shop. Styx Light Shards also drop as a reward from the Drake Raid.
You can read more about Styx here:
Massa is a recently released Fire Melee Hero who rivals, and in some players’ eyes, surpasses Mei for the title of best Fire Melee Hero. She possesses HP% attacks which make her a fine choice against Raid Bosses as well as possessing innate Vampire effects on her attacks which helps her to sustain herself on the battlefield.
Mei is an Ancient Goddess Hero and a powerful Fire Melee Hero. She’s one of the most popular options for the Earth Drake Raids due to her abilities. Mei possesses the ability to inflict various Effects with her attacks while maintaining a high damage output.
Lizzy is a powerful Fire Ranged Hero with several useful characteristics in helping take down the Drake Raid Boss. She has several attacks which hit multiple times and have guaranteed Critical hits, which become incredibly powerful when she is Transcended.
We hope that you enjoyed this guide and that it helps you conquer the Drake Raids. Let us know your tips or any other thoughts you have in the comments!

AWTG’s Blockchain explainer – What’s a Sidechain?
Knights it’s time to take another stab into the world of blockchain tech. This time we’re getting a bit more technical. We’re sure you can handle it! After all, if you can fight for the light, you can learn some technical stuff!
[ SIDECHAINS ]
Ok simply put a side chain is a separate blockchain that is attached to its parent blockchain(mainchain) using a two-way connection.
Stripping it back further, it’s a system where you can move items from one record center to another and back. Check out this awesome and easy to understand diagram, from Hackernoon.
If you want to learn more about specific sidechains you can check out this awesome article by Vaibhav Saini at Hackernoon.
[ SO WHY DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT SIDECHAINS? ]
A Sidechain helps to solve one of the biggest issues for the crypto world and blockchain gaming. Speed. When using a sidechain, instead of calculating everything in a single big blockchain, some of it can be offloaded to the sidechain. Thus reducing the need and load on the mainchain. Thereby increasing speed.
Sidechains are also important in that they help to improve the scalability of blockchains in general. This is important for things like gaming where it’s possible that actions will be taken frequently, think creating in-game items like Runes or Characters in Along with the Gods.
[ A BIG EXAMPLE THAT HELPS BOIL IT DOWN ]
CryptoKitties- the once most popular blockchain game at one stage was responsible for 25% of the transactions on the entire Ethereum blockchain. This caused delays and load issues. If they had deployed a side chain, then it’s possible that they would have had a much better player experience for all involved.
[ IF YOU TAKE NOTHING ELSE AWAY FROM THIS ]
Just remember that Sidechains are a way to help create more speed, more scalability and better quality of life in gaming for players.
The Blockchain Version of Along with the Gods is getting closer and closer and we just can’t wait!
Till the next blockchain article, happy adventuring!
Hero Spotlight: Styx
“All glory will be buried in oblivion.”
We’re back with another Along with the Gods Hero Spotlight, featuring Styx!
If you missed our previous edition featuring Patricia, you can read it here:
“One of the Dark Ancient Gods in charge of “Oblivion”. He has an ambition to build his own empire after creating a group called “Lamus” by resurrecting the dead ones of Sha’ha.”
Styx is a 5-star Fire Support Hero and is considered one of the best, if not the best, Support Heroes in Along with the Gods. Styx combines damage dealing, healing, enemy debuffs, ally buffing and cooldown manipulation in one package. He is a top-tier Hero in both PvP and PvE and will be one of your most reliable Heroes, no matter the situation.
Read on to find out how to obtain and make the most of this awesome Hero!
[How to Obtain Styx]
Styx is obtainable through various methods in-game.
Currently, the most accessible method is through collecting Styx Light Shards. You can collect Styx Light Shards through completing specific Daily and Weekly Quests for Summoning a Hero in the Temple of Heroes each day, completing a battle in the Minor Arena each day and completing 25 Daily Quests in a week. This will be the surest method of acquiring Styx but will require some patience and diligence as it will take approximately two months of completing the Quests regularly to obtain Styx.
You can also collect Styx Light Shards as a drop reward from the challenging Ancient Drake Raids, the higher the difficulty the more likely it is that Styx Light Shards will be dropped.
It’s also possible to purchase Styx Light Shards from the Shop with the Ancient God Package, which features 30 Styx Light Shards.
You’ll need to collect 300 Styx Light Shards in total to summon him from the Temple of Heroes.
You have a small chance to summon Styx from any general Hero Scroll including Premium, Legendary, Mythical and Fire Hero Summon Scrolls.
You also have a one-in-five chance to summon Styx from an Ancient God Hero Scroll, which exclusively features the Ancient God Heroes Styx, Prospera, Atmos, Alexis and Mei. You can acquire Ancient God Hero Scrolls from completing seven rounds of Hero Summon Mileage or as a reward for clearing every Scenario level on Hell difficulty in the game.
[Styx Skill Breakdown]
Styx’s Active Skill River of Oblivion inflicts 310% magic damage to all enemies and transfers 130% of damage inflicted to the ally with the lowest HP. It also Stuns for 2 seconds and Weakens for 6 seconds. This Active Skill alone makes him incredibly useful, but he has even more Skills in his arsenal.
Styx’s first Auto Oblivion Interference steals all beneficial effects on enemies while inflicting 280% of his Magic Power as damage. It also prevents the enemies from being granted with beneficial effects for 5 seconds.
Oblivion Fog, his second Auto, protects all allies and heals for 17% of their Max HP over 5 seconds. It also decreases the received damage amount by 20% for 10 seconds and decreases their skill cooldown timers by 2 turns.
His first passive, Amnesia, increases the enemy’s skill cooldown by 1 turn with a 20% chance each time you attack.
Owner of Memory, Styx’s second passive, increases his HP by 25%
[Choosing Awakenings for Styx]
I: Magic Power/ HP
Styx’s healing and damage dealt are both calculated with his Magic Power stat. Choosing to increase his HP with Awakening I is also a viable option to boost his durability, however many players seem to emphasize increasing Styx’s Magic Power in his Awakenings.
This Awakening has great synergy with Philosopher Runes and helps Styx and your team acquire as much Energy as possible.
III: Attack Speed
Attack Speed is one of the most important stats in the game, and for Styx it’s no different. This will allow you to get your skills off more quickly and more often.
IV: Magic Power
Styx’s healing and damage dealt are both calculated with his Magic Power stat.
V: Increase Magic Defense
Increasing your team’s Magic Defense will be of greater benefit to your team’s overall power.
[Choosing Runes for Styx]
The optimal Runes for Styx consist of a pair of Warrior and a pair of Philosopher Runes. However, high-level Philosopher Runes can be difficult/tricky to obtain so substituting Evasion Runes is an acceptable compromise, some players might even argue that Evasion Runes are just as good on a Hero like Styx as it allows him to avoid damage to survive longer and support his teammates.
These are our recommended Rune stats you should be looking for in each respective slot for Styx:
I: HP/ Magic Power
II: Magic Power
III: Attack Speed
IV: Attack Speed / HP
The sub-stats you should be primarily looking to acquire for Styx are HP, Magic Power, Attack Speed and Energy Acquisition. You can choose to emphasize HP or Magic Power more depending on your needs and preferences.
[Choosing Accessories for Styx]
For most players, any Accessory type combination that improves Styx’s HP stat should be fine, or even Magic Accessories. However, if you want to fully optimize Styx you should work on obtaining sets of Divine and/or Immortal Accessories.
For accessory sub-stats, you should be looking for Accessories which increase Styx’s HP, Magic Power, Attack Speed and Physical Defense.
[Using Styx and Getting the Most Out of Him]
Styx shines in the Raids against Pantahras, Python, Havok and Nhumer and can still be used in the Kraken Raid, even with his attribute disadvantage, to great effect. His all-round versatility and power makes him usable in almost any situation. The only caveat to this is that he’s not a pure healer and for encounters that are particularly tough he may need to be supplemented with a more healing-focused Hero such as Divana. Styx will also be crucial in various other PvE situations, such as the Ancient Drake Raids and Infinite Tower stages with his various Support abilities.
Styx is also a cornerstone of the current PvP meta, with the overwhelming majority of high-ranking Major Arena and Team Arena teams featuring Styx. In PvP, pure healing is less impactful and Styx’s other Support abilities can shine. Styx’s Skills are incredibly impactful, especially with the way the PvP metagame is currently, as he cripples the opponents with debuffs and Crowd Control while buffing his allies while providing some healing and Magic damage as well. His cooldown timer manipulation is also a huge boon in the current meta which emphasizes getting your hits off first. The best way to counter Styx’s impact is to have a Styx of your own!
Styx is one of the most vital Heroes in Along with the Gods. Try your best to obtain him because he is one of the most legitimately game-changing Heroes in Along with the Gods. You’ll use him in a wide variety of situations and he’ll be extremely helpful in all of them.
We hope that you enjoyed this guide and found it helpful. Let us know what you think of Styx and any other thoughts you may have in the comments!
Python Raid Guide - Slay the Shadow of the Dark!
Hello Knights! We’re back with another Raid guide for you, this time we’ll be giving you all the info you need to dominate the Python Raid! If you missed out on our previous guide to the Havok, Pantahras, Nhumer and Kraken Raids you can read them here:
[ Python Overview ]
Python is an Earth Melee Raid Boss and is considered the most difficult and powerful Raid Boss in the game. Even his mid-level stages can be as difficult as Level 13 stages from other Raid Bosses and high-level Python Raids can be considered as part of the endgame content in Along with the Gods. You will need your team to be at its best to have a chance against Python.
The rewards match the challenge though, as Python drops the most powerful and coveted type of Rune in the game, Philosopher Runes. Philosopher Runes when applied in a Set of 2 grant 10% Energy at the start of a battle. If you have a team of Heroes equipped with 2 Philosopher Runes, you start the battle with 50% Energy, giving you a massive advantage in battle, especially in PvP.
You’re definitely going to want to work on mastering the Python Raid to obtain Philosopher Runes. Read on to find out how!
[ Python’s Skills and Passives ]
Python hits hard and fast! He also has several methods to defend himself while hindering you with a multitude of debuffs. The most notable of these is his Distorted Shield, which makes him immune to all damage for 45 hits, while also inflicting magic damage and increasing your skill cooldown by 3 turns. Python, despite nominally being a Melee Hero, hits from both sides of the Physical and Magic damage spectrum and carries numerous harsh debuffs, which adds to the trickiness of the battle.
Python’s first Auto Skill, Shadow Slash, inflicts Physical damage on all enemies while decreasing its targets’ Attack Power by 30% and their Received Recovery by a massive 300%.
His second, Auto Grim Reaper’s Attack, inflicts Physical damage on all enemies. As well as decreasing targets’ acquired Energy by 100% for 6 seconds and their Accuracy by 75% for 4 seconds.
Distorted Shield will likely form the crux of the battle and your strategy against Python, and the battle will revolve around bringing down his Distorted Shield.
Python’s Passives are as daunting as his Skills. His first Passive, Critical Wound inflicts regular Physical damage with a 17% chance to inflict 25% of its target’s Max HP with every basic attack.
His second Passive, Distorted Body, grants Python a 40% increase to his Critical Hit Damage as well as an Attack Speed increase of 100%.

Patricia is the most popular Hero in Level 13 of the Python Raid. Confirming her status as one of the very best Heroes to use in the Python Raid. Patricia possesses several highly valuable Skills and Passives that set her apart from her peers. She combines powerful debilitating debuffs with high damage, crushing the opposition. Her skills increase the cooldown of enemy attacks and decrease enemy Attack speed and Energy acquisition, which will help slow Python down while damaging him.
Read more about Patricia, and how best to use her in her Hero Spotlight:
Lin is one of the very best Heroes in the game when it comes to taking on Raid Bosses and she’s a great asset to have in the Python Raid. Her attacks are not only extremely powerful by themselves, boosted by her passive, but they also inflict bonus HP% damage which is crucial against Raid Bosses. Lin can also Armor Break enemies, reducing their Physical Defense by 100%, softening them up for herself and other Physical attackers to deal huge amounts of damage. Lin also has skills that hit multiple times, a crucial component when trying to bring down Python’s shield.
Lin is a hero that all players should be using, especially as she’s attainable freely in the Temple of Heroes through Hero Combination.
You can read more about Lin in our Hero Spotlight article here:
Lizzy is another Ranged Hero who will be incredibly useful in the Python Raid. Not only does she have an Attribute advantage as a Fire Hero, but she also possesses a number of Skills and Passives that are well-suited to taking down Python. Her Skills hit multiple times, her Active skill stacks damage for each consecutive hit while her first Active hits 3 times with guaranteed Critical Hits, which helps bring down Python’s shield. All of this is coupled with Statuses such as Bleed, Burn and Slowdown. When Transcended, she becomes one of the most effective anti-Python Heroes in the game. Luther is a viable alternative if you don’t have Lizzy yet.
Prospera’s kit provides a ton of buffs to her teammates while also dealing large amounts of damage. Her Leader Skill is also one of the best in the entire game as she boosts your backline’s HP by 50% each, which makes a huge difference to the durability of herself and her teammates. This Leader Skill is especially helpful against a tough Raid Boss like Python. She also boosts your team’s Attack Speed and Critical damage while granting herself the Vampire Effect with her Passive Adrenalin.
Glen is currently the best Melee Hero in the game and he shows off the full extent of his powers in the Python Raid. Glen hits multiple times with his Skills, and they carry a range of useful Effects. Glen can cause Bleed with his attacks, procure a shield for himself that blocks all Physical damage for 5 seconds, increase his own Attack Power by 30% and the more HP he loses the higher his Attack becomes!
Lucius is another top-tier Melee Hero in the same league as Glen. As a Darkness Attribute Hero, Lucius has the luxury of being usable in every single Raid and with his overall power he more than makes up for his lack of Attribute advantage against Python. He possesses a HP% attack which helps make him even more effective against Raid Bosses, as well as several powerful attacks with nice debuffs and effects.
Ereth is a Fire Melee Hero who you’ll be familiar with if you’re a Minor Arena enthusiast. Ereth has a great kit with high damage, limited AoE attacks that can inflict crippling Status afflictions, remove all beneficial effects on a target and buff his own attack by 30%. Ereth’s skills are great by themselves but the animations he performs when executing his skills also grant him several frames of invulnerability (i-frames). As Ereth teleports around the battlefield terrorizing his enemies, they’ll find him difficult to pin down and hit. This also helps make Ereth less frail than other DPS Heroes.
You can read more about Ereth in his Spotlight:
Mei shines in the Python Raid, as both a Fire attribute Hero, and a powerful Ancient God Hero, and should be strongly considered for use by anyone who owns her. Her attacks not only do a large amount of damage they also have a range of powerful effects including inflicting Silence and blocking Beneficial Effects. Many of her attacks also have the Vampire Effect, so she can heal herself through her own damage.
Blith is one of the best Tanks in the game and is a strong candidate for the role of Tank in the Python Raid. Blith is an amazing all-round Tank and rivals any 5-star Hero despite being a natural 4-star Hero. He provides good healing and support from the frontline. Packing multiple healing Skills and shield skills, Blith fits more into the meat shield archetype, and won’t provide much in the way of offense. Accordingly, you’ll need to partner him with some other heavy hitters. He is an exceptional damage sponge and functions almost as an auxiliary Support hero.
Phoenix is often neglected when talking about the elite Heroes of the game, but he’s a top Hero in the Python Raid. Phoenix provides a variety of shields to protect his teammates and blunts the opponent’s Attack Power with his auto skills, and is a sturdy Tank with an attribute advantage over Python. His Active skill Shield protects 3 allies and increases their Physical Defense by 50%. His passive Elemental King’s Dignity increases his resistance to Harmful Effects by 30%, making him less susceptible to Python abilities.
Morox is a Fire Tank Hero, and definitely worth a look when making your team against Python. He provides a range of useful buffs to the team. Morox inflicts Stun and Slowdown on his enemies while also reducing their Physical Defense by 50% and provides a Physical Shield and 30% Attack Speed buff to his allies.
The only Water attribute Hero on the recommended list but Atmos is just that good. Atmos provides a damage shield for her allies which is very helpful, but her biggest asset is her ability to remove all harmful effects on all allies with her Active skill, granting them immunity from all harmful effects for 5 seconds. Plus, she also has a 15% chance to remove a harmful effect on all allies whenever she’s attacked. This makes her invaluable in protecting your team against Python’s damage and debuffs, despite her attribute disadvantage.
Styx isn’t as pure of a healer as Kadus or Divana but is still a powerful Support hero to use in the Pantahras Raid. He debuffs his enemies and buffs your team, with his biggest buff reducing the team’s Skill Cooldown by two turns, and throws in a moderate amount of healing. His various debuffs will hinder Python and assist your heavy hitters to unleash their skills. His Leader Skill is also very useful as it increases the Attack and Magic Attack of your backline by 20%.
Kadus is a perfect Support hero for the Python Raid with his diverse support skills and attribute advantage. He possesses multiple healing skills to provide a steady stream of HP for his allies, a damage blocking shield, the ability to strip his enemies of beneficial effects and he can remove up to two harmful effects at a time from each of his allies.
Divana is one of the best Support Heroes in the game and is very defensively inclined compared to other Support Heroes like Styx. Her Skills focus only on healing, shields and buffing her teammates. She provides healing for 30% of an allies’ max HP%, and a shield that blocks all damage with her Active Skill, when this shield is timed correctly it can be a lifesaver. She also boosts the team’s Attack and Defense which is useful against Python as he hits with a lot of Physical Attacks and inflicts Attack Reduction on members of your team.
Marcus is another Earth Support Hero who provides healing and team buffs, but is distinct from Divana in how he supports his team. Marcus’ Active Skill heals his allies for 30% of their Max HP while also granting them the Vampire Effect, he also boosts your team’s Energy Acquisition. Marcus is an outstanding Support Hero, but he is unable to remove Harmful Effects so keep that in mind.
[ Recommended Strategy vs. Python ]
When you look at Python’s stats you can see that his Physical and Magic Attack are similarly powerful and he hits with both. However, he predominantly uses Physical Skills so keep in this mind. Having a Tank or Support Hero who can withstand his Physical punishment while also supporting the rest of your team with Shields and Defense boosts is going to be vital.
His Physical Defense is also higher than his Magic Defense so it would be worthwhile to have some Magic Heroes with high DPS, however many Physical Attack based Heroes have Skills and Passives which make them equally as useful during the Python Raid, you’ll just have to deal with more debuffs from Python that affect Physical Attack Heroes.
Heroes who possess multi-hit Skills are going to be crucial in bringing down Python’s Shield as quickly as possible. Lizzy and Glen are two examples of Heroes with multi-hit Skills. As usual against Raid Bosses, having Heroes who can inflict HP% damage such as Lin is going to be very important too. Bleed and Poison can also help with residual damage, especially to keep the damage ticking over while his Distorted Shield is up, or to take him down before he can get his Shield up.
Additionally, having Support Heroes who can heal and shield your team from the large amounts of damage that Python inflicts will be important, as Python’s Skills target all enemies at once and can finish them all off at once. Equally as important will be helping shield or cleanse your team from the various debuffs and negative effects that Python will inflict on your team. These debuffs can halt all your offensive momentum and leave you helpless against Python. They also impact your Energy acquisition and Recovery, his 300% Recovery debuff can quickly debilitate your team, so dealing with these debuffs should be a priority.
Important debuffs that you can utilize and can help you against Python specifically are Weaken, Slowdown, Destroy Weapon and Cooldown Disruption.
We would recommend having at least one, if not two, Support Heroes against Python in conjunction with a Tank to deal with Python’s heavy damage output and debuffs. However, if you possess enough offensive firepower you can aim to kill Python off as quickly as possible before he gets his shield up, but this requires a team that is not only powerful offensively but still adequate enough in defense to survive Python. Choose the strategy that suits your personnel and their strength accordingly.
[ Let's sum it all up ]
Prioritize completion over anything else when making a Raid team. Nothing is worse than leaving an auto-battle run going and coming back to see that you wiped out.
Build a Raid team that is strong enough to successfully auto-battle the Raid Boss. Failing to auto clear a stage? Then add another support Hero for extra security.
Still failing to clear the Raid Boss? Change your composition, try a variation of heroes to make up for anything your current team is lacking.
If all else fails, just drop down a level in the Python Raid. You can use the lower level to learn and adjust your best Raid team.
We hope you enjoyed this guide and found it useful. Let us know the roster and strategy you use to fight Python or any other thoughts you may have in the comments!

Scenario Hell Mode 19–20 Guide
Your complete guide to completing Hell Scenario 19 and 20!
Hello Knights! We’ve been hearing feedback from players that they’re having trouble overcoming Stages 19 and 20 of Hell Mode. As always, we’re here to help! We’ve come up with this guide packed full of useful pointers and guidelines that will help you overcome this challenge.
[Gems, Gems, Gems]
The cold hard truth is that unless you have a complete team of Transcended high-tier Heroes with maxed out Runes and accessories, you’re going to struggle to clear Stages 19 onwards without losing all of your Heroes. Stages 19 and 20 were designed as endgame content for high-level players. Luckily, Gems exist as the great equalizer in this game. Every time you wipe out you can use Gems to revive your team. Thus, the aim for most players isn’t going to be to build a team that can beat 19 and 20 in the traditional sense, it should be to build a team that can scrape through it with Gems.
The sooner you accept that you’re most likely going to have to use Gems to clear 19 and 20, the sooner you can start saving up Gems in preparation. The best advice we can give for clearing these Scenario stages is to save up Gems, especially if you’re trying to get those Mythical Hero Scrolls and Ancient God Hero Scroll as soon as possible. Just know that brute-forcing your way like this can see you use thousands of gems. You may run out of stockpiled Gems as you go through Scenario, in which case you’ll need to save up more before attempting to progress again.
The alternative is to build your team up to the point where it can naturally clear the stages. Be warned though, by that point you’ll have spent a large amount of time and effort on the game, meaning Mythical Hero Scrolls you get as a reward will be much less impactful. Overall, you’ll get more benefit from clearing 19 and 20 as soon as you can and the trade-off of using Gems is more than worth it! Especially when you get that grand prize, the Ancient God Hero Scroll.
A useful metaphor for this strategy would be American Football. Each revive is like a down and your aim is to inch closer towards the end with each down before your run out of attempts.
[Preparing your Heroes]
That isn’t to say that you should give up on upgrading your Heroes at all. While you will be relying on Gems to fuel your progress, you still need to hit a minimum threshold of power to even be eligible to use this strategy. Otherwise, you’re just going to get wiped out immediately with zero progress, no fun at all. You should be aiming to inflict at least some damage and make incremental progress each time before reviving yourself to move through each stage.
You will absolutely need a team full of evolved 6-star Heroes if you want to make progress viable. Having at least one or two fully Awakened or Transcended Heroes will make the process smoother. You still want to maximize your team’s power as much as you can so you can minimize the amount of Gems you require in general.
There are also some specific Heroes, load-outs and strategies you can use to maximize your team’s ability to make it through 19 and 20.
You should look to equip your Heroes with optimal Runes types. Attack and Magic Runes just won’t cut it at the higher levels of the game. Evasion, Warrior and Vampire type Runes are fantastic all-round Runes and will help you in both PvE and PvP situations and you should be collecting these types of Runes from Raids and using them on your Heroes for other aspects of the game anyway. Philosopher Runes are more PvP focused, but are still an amazing all-round Rune type, giving you a 10% boost in starting Energy for a set of two on a Hero.
Try to obtain 6-star Runes with Hero-relevant stats and dump your Gold into upgrading them as much as you can. The difference between, for example, a Hero equipped with four average Attack Runes versus one equipped with strong Warrior and Vampire Runes in sets of two each, can be night and day. Rune type, grade and level make a huge difference and it’s well worth the investment to get sets of +15 6-star complementary runes.
Another useful tip is to try and make friends with people who have powerful Representative Heroes, especially if they’re Transcended, so you can summon them during battle. Having a powerful Transcended Hero fighting alongside your team can help a lot and strengthen any area of deficiencies you may have, especially if you’re lacking a Transcended heavy-hitter yourself. You can also opt to use a friends’ Tank Hero like Atmos if you think your team has enough offensive firepower and could instead use some more defensive solidity.
A lot of the enemies in Hell 19 are Water attribute so having some strong Earth attribute Heroes is going to be a great help for your progress. Stage 19.10 also features the Water attribute character Lumie as the final boss.
Hell 20 transitions more towards Earth attribute enemies with some Fire attribute enemies thrown in, most notably Massa, a powerful Fire Melee character, as the final boss in 20.10 so having some strong Fire and Water Heroes will be helpful here.
Knowing which enemy types are present and their characteristics can give you a massive edge. The Starfish Shaman enemies are particularly dangerous as their powerful Magic attacks can one-shot your Heroes quite easily. The Sturgeon and Shark Knight enemies you face in 19 have a host of nasty Harmful Effects attached to their attacks, such as Bleed. You’re also going to face many Phantom Knights throughout 19, who are Fire attribute Melee characters and have deadly Crowd Control skills. Having strong Water attribute Tanks and Melee Heroes can significantly mitigate their impact. Try and see which of your Heroes can help counteract the enemies you face.
Divana is going to be a hugely helpful Hero in these harder Scenario stages. Her shield, procured by her Active skill, makes herself and her allies completely immune to damage. Timing this correctly can completely change the tide of battle, negating damage that would otherwise wipe out your team.
Prospera’s Leader Skill can be a game-changer as it provides a 50% HP boost to all allies in the backline and give you enough of a buffer to get some attacks off and improve your position. If you have Prospera you should absolutely utilize her and her Leader Skill.
Other Heroes who will prove to be especially useful in Scenario 19 and 20 include:
Zemer and Atmos are two of the best Tanks in the game. Not only can they ensure their own longevity but they also provide a bunch of benefits, shields and buffs to the rest of your team that will help them survive longer as well.
Check out our Hero Spotlight on Zemer to find out how to best utilize him:
Blith is also worth a mention as a viable endgame Tank, he operates as more of a Healer/Tank hybrid than Zemer and Atmos.
Marcus, Styx, Kadus and Ramia are all great Support Heroes who can provide healing, team buffs as well as strip opponents of their beneficial effects, an ability Divana lacks. Having strong, capable Support Heroes is going to be important in giving you enough time and opportunity to inflict damage on your enemies.
Glen is currently the best Melee Hero in the game with Lucius not far behind. These two will be your best bets for Melee Heroes to use. Other Melee Heroes who may prove useful include Mei and a fully Transcended Level 66 version of Melvin. You can read more about Melvin here:
Besides Prospera, you can also use Lin as a Ranged Hero. Lin is incredible in PvE situations and will do well as a Ranged Hero in 19 and 20, especially in 19 where she will have the attribute advantage against the majority of enemies.
You can read more about Lin here:
Alexis, Oliver and Patricia are the most powerful Magic Heroes with the most applicable skill sets for clearing 19 and 20. They have high DPS as Magic Heroes and powerful, useful effects such as Freeze, Transform, Weaken, and Slowdown to accompany the damage they inflict.
You can read more about Patricia here:
The over-arching team concept should be to create the correct balance. You’ll need an offense and defense that allows you to survive long enough to actually attack but also gives enough firepower to your attacks that they count when they land. The enemies you face will deal high amounts of damage and also have high defensive stats and HP pools. It’s called Hell after all!
To summarize, the most effective strategy to clear Hell 19 and 20 is:
Save up Gems — Remember the inching forward mentality.
Strengthen your team — A full team of 6-star Heroes is the aim.
High-level Runes and Accessories — Push that team even higher with the best gear.
Grind — You’re going to have to accept that there will be some grinding out Hell 19 and 20.
We hope you enjoyed this guide and that it helps you overcome the challenges of 19 and 20. Let us know what you thought of the guide and if you have any other comments!

Hero Spotlight: Patricia
“God’s will is my will.”
We’re back with another Along with the Gods Hero Spotlight, featuring Patricia!
If you missed our previous edition featuring Lin, you can read it here:
“Patricia is an elite who’s responsible for the education of new nuns. She’s trying her best to help Nana become a formal nun.”
Patricia is a 5-star Earth Magic Hero and is one of the best Magic Heroes in Along with the Gods. She is a top-tier Hero in both PvP and PvE and will be one of your most useful all-round Heroes once you obtain and upgrade her. Patricia possesses several powerful characteristics and skills which elevate her to the top of both PvP and PvE lists.
Also important to note is that Patricia is a Combination Material Hero for Alexis, a meta defining Hero, in the Temple of Heroes. This can raise a dilemma for players who have to choose between keeping Patricia or using her to obtain a copy of Alexis. We would recommend keeping at least the first copy of Patricia for use, rather than using her to combine for Alexis straight away.
[How to Obtain Patricia]
Patricia can be obtained randomly through Hero Scroll Summons and Synthesis. Mythical Hero Scrolls, which exclusively hold natural 5-star Heroes, will have the highest chance of Patricia appearing.
There is a guaranteed method of obtaining Patricia though. You can purchase a Goddess Token, only available once per account, which allows you select a Hero from a set list of natural 5-star Heroes. She’s a notch above the other Heroes available from the Token so selecting her is straightforward and highly recommended.
[Patricia Skill Breakdown]
Patricia possesses several highly valuable Skills and Passives which set her apart from her peers, combining powerful debilitating debuffs with high damage to crush the opposition.
Patricia’s Active Skill, Proper Guidance, is extremely powerful with 360% damage and viable as a lead-off Skill for your Arena teams. Not only does it deal a large amount of damage, it also increases the targets’ skill cooldown time by 1 turn as well as reducing their Magic Power by 100% for 4 seconds. Getting this Active Skill off first in Arena can be huge as it will leave your opponents incredibly weak and vulnerable, especially if they’re relying on Magic Heroes.
Patricia’s first Auto, Light’s Lesson, does 320% Magic damage and decreases the opponent’s Attack Speed by 50% for 7 seconds and Acquired Energy by 40% for 10 seconds. This is a huge setback for your opponent and will greatly slow down any retaliation.
Patricia’s second Auto Skill, Potential Knowledge, applies 420% Magic damage to a single target with the highest Magic Power. It also Silences the target for 5 seconds, rendering them unable to use any Skills, and also acquires 30 Energy.
Patricia’s first passive, Tolerance Power, gives her a 25% chance with each basic attack to reduce her Skill cooldown by 1 turn. This can become extremely powerful when combined with Attack Speed boosts and teammate abilities such as Styx’s cooldown reduction or Alexis’ Leader Skill which grants a 20% chance to reduce cooldown with each attack.
Patricia’s second Passive, Iron Will, increases her Magic Power by 20%, providing a handy boost to her overall power.
[Choosing Awakenings for Patricia]
I: Magic Power
Straightforward choice as this will increase the amount of damage Patricia does with her attacks.
II: Personal preference between Poison and Magical Wall
You can make a choice between Poison and Magical Wall depending on your preference. Poison will give a chance to inflict the Poison effect with each attack and can increase your overall damage output whereas Magical Wall will provide a shield that protects from Magic damage, increasing your overall durability.
III: Attack Speed
This will increase Patricia’s overall damage output and also synergizes well with her passive which has a chance to reduce Skill cooldown with each basic attack.
IV: Magic Power
Another straightforward choice, this will increase the amount of damage Patricia does with her attacks.
V: Personal Choice between Increasing and Decreasing Accuracy
There’s no right or wrong choice here. Some players prefer increasing their team’s Accuracy to ensure more damage lands whereas others prefer reducing an opponent’s Accuracy to ensure greater survivability. You can choose whichever you want to prioritize.
Keep in mind that you’ll most likely be using multiple Magic Heroes in this metagame, especially in PvP, and that their Awakening team boosts stack.
Some players would argue that reducing your opponent’s Accuracy is more effective as it amplifies any Evasion boosts (Accuracy reduction runs off of a separate calculation) you may have on your team, plus the fact that you can get Accuracy boosts from Rune sub-stats and Accessories.
[Choosing Runes for Patricia]
Patricia should be Runed with the goal of increasing her overall damage output and getting her Skills off as quickly and often as possible. These are the best Rune types you can use on Patricia:
Vampire Runes are a solid choice for Patricia, a set of two will grant her a 20% Vampire Effect boost. This will increase her longevity and with Patricia’s high damage output she’ll receive plenty of health recovery in return. Magic Heroes often utilize and benefit greatly from Vampire Runes due to their natural frailty. Vampire Runes are incredibly useful in PvE situations and decent in PvP.
Warrior Runes are one of the best Rune types in the game and are a very solid option for Patricia. A set of two Warrior Runes increase your Inability Effect Resistance by 50%. Inability Effects are deadly, especially in Arena where hitting first is of the utmost importance.
Evasion Runes are a solid choice on Patricia as she lacks overall longevity until she gets Transcended. This will allow Patricia to avoid attacks and last longer in battles. A common combination for many Magic Heroes is two Evasion Runes with two Warrior Runes.
Philosopher Runes are a PvP focused Rune type, which are still useful in PvE situations, that give you a 10% boost to your starting Energy levels for a set of 2. In the current PvP meta where battles can be determined simply by whose DPS Magic Hero can get their Skills off first, Philosopher Runes are incredibly powerful, especially when multiple or all team members possess a set.
Many top PvP players consider Philosopher Runes the best type of Rune. If you’re trying to maximize your performance in PvP, equip Patricia with a set of Philosopher Runes. Warrior Runes synergize incredibly well with Philosopher Runes as it drastically increases the likelihood you’ll get your Skills off quickly and uninterrupted.
If you haven’t Transcended Patricia yet, especially to 66 where Magic Heroes receive a 30% HP boost, you may find her to be a bit squishy. In that case you can change her Rune I slot to a HP Rune to increase her durability.
Desirable Rune Stat Bonuses:
I: Magic Power/HP
II: Magic Power
III: Attack Speed
IV: Attack Speed
Complementary sub-stats you should be aiming for on your Runes are: Attack Speed, Magic Power and Accuracy. Having some HP and other stats such as Energy Acquired in the sub-stats can also be helpful.
[Choosing Accessories for Patricia]
The best Accessories for Patricia are a set of Divine or Immortal Accessories. However Divine and Immortal Accessories are incredibly rare and difficult to obtain, especially as a full set. Most players will find themselves equipping Patricia with a set of Magic Accessories until they can acquire Divine accessories.
The stat bonuses you should primarily be looking out for on your Accessories are: Accuracy, Attack Speed, Magic Power, Physical Defense and Critical Rate/Damage.
[Using Patricia and Getting the Most Out of Her]
Patricia is a well-rounded Hero who you can rely on across virtually every game mode in Along with the Gods from Scenario and Infinite Tower to Arena.
When Transcended she becomes a major damage nuke and can hang with other Magic DPS powerhouses in the game such as Alexis. Patricia’s main competitor for a spot on your roster is Nia, a fellow Earth Magic Hero. While Nia is a strong Hero in her own right, Patricia is clearly the superior option. Patricia has superior damage output from her Skills, better effects, better passives and performs better in a variety of situations. The PvP meta right now features many Magic Heroes such as Alexis, Oliver and co. who Patricia matches up well against.
Patricia is a stand-out in the Kraken Raid which is impressive given that Kraken has high Magic Defense, and is also a powerful pick in the Python and Pantahras Raids.
You can read our guides on the Kraken and Pantahras Raids here:
In the Arena, you’ll use her as your primary or secondary Magic DPS. As such, you should set her first or second in your Skill Order. Patricia works well as both an lead-off hitter and as a sweeper with her Skills. See which slot Patricia works better in for you and adjust according to the other Heroes on your team and their Skills.
Patricia deserves her acclaim as one of the best all-round Heroes in the game. If you manage to obtain her make sure to upgrade ands utilize her, you won’t be disappointed!
Let us know what you think of Patricia and how you use her in battle!

Havok Raid Guide
How to slay the King of the Jungle
Hello Knights! We’re back with another Raid guide for you, this time we’ll be giving you all the info you need to dominate the Havok Raid! If you missed out on our previous guide to the Pantahras, Nhumer and Kraken Raids you can read them here:
Havok is a Fire attribute Raid Boss who holds the title of the King of the Jungle. Havok is an imposing force, using his physicality to bully and pummel his enemies into submission. Read on to find out how to dethrone Havok.
Havok’s first Auto skill, Strike, Knocks Airborne whoever it hits for 1 seconds while dealing Physical damage.
The second Auto, Fire Attack, inflicts Push and Stun for 2 seconds while dealing Physical damage.
Havok’s third Auto, Anger, raises Attack and Attack Speed by 30% for 10 seconds.
Havok’s first passive Forest King boosts Defense by 500% while his second passive Violent Monkey decreases the Attack and Attack Speed of any opponent that hits him with a physical attack by 30% for 10 seconds.
The first two of Havok’s Auto Skills have a form of Crowd Control as an effect. Combined with the sheer Physical power of his attacks this can quickly overwhelm underprepared teams.
When you look at Havok’s stats you can see that Havok has a massive 257,095 HP, 9976 Physical Defense (which gets increased 500% by Havok’s Forest King passive) and 2941 Attack. You’ll also notice his relatively paltry 614 Magic Defense stat. Right off the bat this should tell you that you’re probably going to be outmatched physically and will need to focus on the Magic side of things.
Havok drops Magic, Defense and Speed Runes when you defeat him. Magic Runes are a good starter Rune type for Magic and certain Support Heroes while Defense Runes are less commonly used except on special cases such as Velrooks. Speed Runes are sometimes seen on high-level builds on Heroes where every bit of marginal gain on Attack Speed is crucial such as Healers/Support Heroes or Heroes who have skills that take advantage of increased Attack Speed such as Patricia.
The most effective Heroes in the Havok Raid tend to be 5-star Heroes although there are a few 4-star Heroes who do just as well against Havok.
Turan, a Water Magic Hero and renowned Raid specialist, is going to be one of the best Heroes to use in the Havok Raid, especially as he’s one of the most easily obtainable Heroes on this list. Turan will be a savior for players who don’t possess the rarer 5-star Water Magic Heroes. You can easily Awaken Turan as well to boost his power even more. Turan is a heavy hitter with HP% bonus damage and various useful effects on his skills, which helps greatly against Raid Bosses and immediately makes him a top-tier Hero to use against Havok.
Alexis is one of the very best Heroes in the game due to the unmatched Magic DPS he provides, and combined with his attribute advantage, is going to be a fantastic damage dealer for you in the Havok Raid. Alexis also has the added bonus of having an Inability Effect Resistance +30% Passive. Combined with Warrior runes, Alexis can largely shrug off attacks with Crowd Control effects and fight uninterrupted. His attacks deal a huge amount of damage with many side-effects such as guaranteed Critical Hits, Time Bombs, Damage Weapon and Slowdown. Alexis has the highest usage rate amongst all Heroes on the Level 13 Havok Raid which is testament to how good he is.
Elheim is a Water Magic Hero who can be described as like Turan on steroids. Elheim is a specialist in Raids with powerful HP% attacks with a number of Harmful Effects such as Poison on multiple skills, which will help you quickly reduce Havok’s HP.
Zenon is the archetypal Glass Cannon in Along with the Gods, he can deal a ton of damage against Havok and other enemies but his frailty can be a hindrance, especially as the optimal build for him emphasizes raising his Critical Hit rate with his Rune selection. If you choose to use him, surround him with Heroes who can support him and keep him alive as he dishes out damage and inflicts effects on opponents.
Tiat is, unfortunately, largely overshadowed by many of his Water Magic Hero peers such as Alexis, Elheim, Zenon and Oliver. However, Tiat is still a great Hero in his own right and can be put to great use in the Havok Raid. Tiat still provides relatively comparable damage output to other Water Magic Heroes such as Zenon and has a few other tricks up his sleeves. His Energy Attack skill reduces the enemy’s acquired Energy by 40% while also reducing their Magic Defense by 100%, the latter of which is especially deadly when you pair Tiat with another Magic Hero. In addition, he can install multiple Time Bombs and inflict Burn and Freeze on opponents with his skills.
Zemer is a Hero you can rely on if you want to succeed in high-level Havok Raids. Not only does he boost the team’s Defense against Havok’s onslaught of powerful Physical Attacks, he also provides complete immunity against Inability Effects for a period of time. Zemer can also inflict the Blind status on Havok which is yet another reason to use him.
You can read more about Zemer here:
Phoenix is one of the most used Heroes in the Havok Raid, due to his own survivability and the protection and buffs he provides to his allies. He provides a Shield for his allies, can reduce enemies’ Attack by 30% for 10 seconds and can inflict Provoke drawing attacks away from his allies and onto himself. You can also consider using Morox as an alternative as he provides shields and Physical Defense buffs to the rest of his team in a similar manner to Phoenix.
Atmos is another Water Tank who serves a similar role to Zemer but with a few differences in their abilities. She provides a general damage shield and Harmful Effect protection whereas Zemer provides a Physical Defense boost and immunity against Inability Effects. Atmos is an outstanding all-round Hero and her skills shine through in the Havok Raid.
Carmen is a great Support Hero who many players will probably have a copy of available to use. She provides a good mix of healing and buffs to her team, she will not only keep your team healthy and protected but also enhance their damage output. Her Wind Melody skill increases the team’s Attack Speed by 30% and Energy acquired by 40%, while her Defensive Melody skill increases the team’s Physical and Magic Defense by 50% each.
Misty is a solid all-round healer and Support Hero who can serve as a key Hero in the Havok Raid with her strong consistent healing. Misty possesses multiple healing skills which should keep your team at a consistently high level of HP throughout the battle. She can also strip opponents of their beneficial effects with her Purify Enemy skill.
Ramia is a superstar in the Havok Raid. Not only is she a powerful Water Support Hero in general but she has a few traits and characteristics which are especially helpful in the Havok Raid. Ramia not only heals and protects her allies against Harmful Effects, she also blocks her opponents from receiving any positive effects. Ramia also has a chance to reduce an opponent’s Attack Power by 30% whenever she’s hit.
Kadus will be a reliable healer and Support against Havok. He possesses several helpful skills and characteristics that will enable him to support the rest of your team during the fight. He has multiple healing skills as well as being able to create a shield over his allies. He can also strip his opponents of their beneficial effects and replace them with Time Bombs instead.
Styx is considered one of the very best Heroes to have in Along with the Gods and the Havok Raid is no exception. Styx will severely hamper Havok’s attacks and damage rate while also healing and buffing your team. His ability to reduce an opponent’s Energy acquisition and strip them of their buffs, as well as block them from gaining any buffs, is extremely helpful. He can also provide a damage reduction shield and has a chance to increase the enemy’s skill cooldown with every attack.
While Divana has an attribute disadvantage against Havok, she still remains a highly effective Hero. She provides healing and a shield which makes herself and all her allies immune from all damage. She also boosts the team’s Attack and Defense. Overall, her kit supports her allies well and helps keep them alive and healthy against Havok.
[Strategy to Defeat Havok]
Havok’s combination of physical power and Crowd Control can leave unprepared teams dazed and unable to do anything as Havok pummels them to death.
Havok’s Physical Defense is absurdly high so it’s recommended you stick with using Magic Heroes as your main forms of damage and have the rest of your team built with Support and Tank Heroes to support them.
It should be reiterated that Physical attackers are at a severe disadvantage in this Raid. Havok has a huge HP pool with a massive Defense stat, which gets boosted 500% by his first passive, has the Push effect on his second Auto which will push and stun all your Physical attackers, and his Violent Monkey passive reduces Attack and Attack Speed by 30% for all of your Physical attackers. You’re going to be much better off forgetting about your Melee and Ranged Heroes completely against Havok.
Luckily, there’s a plethora of strong Water Magic Heroes in the game available for you to use.
To counteract Havok’s attacks and protect yourself you’re going to want to use Heroes who can raise their own, and the team’s, Physical Defense and protect against Inability Effects. A perfect example of this is Zemer, who does both and will make a fantastic Frontline leader in the Havok Raid. Atmos can achieve the same goal as well. Make sure you have an adequate level of healing from your Support Heroes that can keep up with Havok’s damage output.
You should also look to include heroes such as Styx, Misty or Ramia who can remove an opponent’s beneficial effects and buffs to negate Havok’s third Auto and stop him from increasing his Attack and Attack Speed.
Other helpful effects that you should try to have in your team’s arsenal are Slowdown, Reduce Attack/Weaken and Blind. These effects are going to be a huge help in reducing Havok’s Physical damage output and increasing your chances of survival for victory.
Heroes such as Alexis who inflict Slowdown and Weaken are also invaluable. Effects such as Bleed and Poison, inflicted by Heroes such as Elheim and Awakened Magic Heroes, are also helpful against Bosses like Havok with large HP pools.
You can also opt to use Heroes such as Kebron, who Blinds enemies with her Active Skill. Combining these effects should help reduce Havok’s offensive momentum and allow you to increase your survival rate.
A good balanced team composition against Havok, for example, would be a team of one Tank, two Magic Heroes and two Support such as Zemer, Alexis, Elheim, Ramia and Styx.
As always, prioritize ensuring completion over anything else when making a Raid team, there’s nothing worse than leaving an auto-battle run going and coming back to see that you wiped out.
The goal of building a Raid team is building a team strong enough to successfully auto-battle a Raid Boss. If your team isn’t strong enough to auto clear a stage every time without fail then you should add another support Hero for the extra security, or perhaps change your overall team composition around to see if something else works better. If all else fails, just drop down a level in the Havok Raid.
We hope you enjoyed this guide and found it useful. Let us know the roster and strategy you use to fight Havok or any other thoughts you may have in the comments!

AWTG’s Blockchain explainer - NFT Assetization
Knights, time for another dip into the waters of Blockchain. And this time we’ve got a mouthful of a word for you.
Worry not, it’s not as bad as it seems! We’re here to break it all down for you in as easy a way as possible! So let’s crack on.
On the most basic of levels, ‘Assetization’ just means “converting something into an asset”. Adding NFT at the beginning just means we’ll be turning it into an NFT asset. Simple right!
So if you take nothing else from this, NFT Assetization just means turning something into an NFT Asset. Boom! Job done!
Of course, there’s more! NFT Assetization needs a bit of context for Along with the Gods. Players, what does it mean for you?
For you, it means that items you’ve worked hard to acquire in-game will become NFTs allowing ownership over them and giving you more power. You could keep it, making your time in Along with the Gods more valuable and enjoyable. Or you could sell it to other players earning yourself a nice real-world boost. Or further yet you could use is across the PlayDapp ecosystem, in our interoperable games.
It’s that last one that we feel has the biggest potential impact. A constantly changing and evolving world of games and experiences all for you.
But how does an item go from being locked down and only part of Along with the Gods to an NFT Asset? Well, that’s the secret PlayDapp Magic. We can’t go into all the details just yet, but we can take you through some basic ideas.
Traditional Blockchain games place all items ‘on-chain’ a process that records items on a blockchain. This is ok, however, it can slow some things down, which isn’t the best fit for having uninterrupted fun!
PlayDapp has taken an approach to maximize the fun by allowing items to undergo NFT Assetization while still being in use in the game you collected them. Then after NFT Assetization finishes the inter-operability kicks off and you can go ahead and get into the awesomeness of true player ownership.
On top of this, we’ve approached blockchain gaming with a mixed-asset approach. Not every item will be converted to an NFT. Truth be told, internally we’re working on how best to give you, the players the ultimate choice of what to, and what not to make undergo NFT Assetization. Again, delivering that player choice and ownership over your items!
We imagine a system where you can take items earned in the game and decide to NFT Assetize them yourself. Player control, player ownership, it’s the best bet for everyone!
The Blockchain Version of Along with the Gods is getting closer and closer and we just can’t wait!
Till the next blockchain article, happy adventuring!
Hero Spotlight: Lin
"Lin is beautiful yet deadly. She protects the forest deep inside the Wolf Forest but has come to protect the forest from the fallen elemental king, Kaor"
We're back with another Along with the Gods Hero Spotlight, featuring Lin!
If you missed our previous edition featuring Ereth, you can read it here:
Lin is a natural 5-star Earth attribute Range class Hero. The Full Moon Goddess is one of the most notable Heroes in Along with the Gods, and she's revered as the Queen of Raids. Her PvE prowess in general makes her a must-have hero and using Lin can feel like having a cheat code against Raid Bosses and other monsters. Read on to find out what makes Lin the Queen of Raids in Along with the Gods, and how to make the most of her.
[How to Obtain Lin]
Lin is obtainable from the Temple of Heroes through Hero Combination, which is absolutely amazing because it means one of the best Heroes in Along with the Gods is easily attainable for all players.
To acquire her you must combine a Max Level 5-star version of Peko, Peishan, Sasha and Siege Turtle.
Peishan can be acquired through scroll summons, synthesis and Light Shards which are available from the Special Shop's Arena section for Bravery Points. Bravery Points are earned as a reward from participating in Team Arena and World Team Arena.
Siege Turtle can be found through scroll summons, synthesis and as a drop reward for completing any of the Stages 8.1 through 8.10.
Peko can be combined in the Temple of Heroes himself by using Reina, Melvin, Lamus Archer and Blue Crab. He can be found through scroll summons and synthesis as well.
Sasha can only be found through summoning and synthesis and will likely be the trickiest combination material hero to obtain.
Because Lin is available through Combination in the Temple of Heroes, it's easier to Awaken and Transcend her than it would be for other 5-star heroes, which is a big plus and makes her an even more valuable asset.
Lin can also be found from Scroll summons and Hero Synthesis, as well as the Goddess Token, which can be purchased once per account from the Limited Package shop. However, we generally recommend players pick Patricia over Lin from the Token. Patricia is the more powerful and difficult to obtain of the two and you can always combine more copies of Lin
[Lin's Skills Overview]
Lin's abilities are incredibly powerful and are tailor-made to deal large amounts of damage to Raid bosses.
Lin's Active Skill inflicts the Bloody Curse effect if it hits with a Critical, which recovers HP when damage is inflicted. More importantly, the attack also does 17% of the target's current HP as bonus damage. HP% abilities are incredibly valuable in Raid battles due to the large HP pools Raid Bosses possess.
Lin's Auto Skills augment the effectiveness of her Active Skill by introducing various other useful effects. One of these is Lin's Shooting Moon, which has the ability to Armor Break an opponent, which reduces their Physical Defense by 100%. This attack also completely ignores the Target's Defense stat when it hits and can also Entice them. This is a massive game-changer, especially against Raid bosses and allows herself and her other Attack based teammates to do extremely high amounts of damage.
Her other Auto skill Meteor Shower also has the potential to deal a lot of rapid damage, with three separate hits and a chance to install Time Bombs that explode for 200% Physical damage with each hit.
Lin's passives are just as strong as her skills, with her first passive Moon's Energy granting her the Vampire Effect when her HP falls under 70%, and her second passive Night Guardian boosting her Critical damage by 40%
[Choosing Awakenings for Lin]
Lin's Awakenings and other upgrades should be chosen with the goal of maximizing her potential in PvE, especially against Raid Bosses.
Awakening I: Increase her Attack to increase her overall damage output.
Awakening II: This Awakening has an element of personal choice as some players prefer to choose Evasion boosting over the Bleed effect, particularly if they don't use Evasion runes on Lin to improve her survivability. However, the Bleed effect makes Lin even edgier in DPS against Raid bosses and maximizes her offensive potential and most players end up going with the Bleed Effect Awakening.
Awakening III: Increase her Attack Speed, you want Lin to attack as quickly and often as possible.
Awakening IV: This is another Awakening choice that players can differ on. Some players prefer to raise Lin's Critical Rate, and others prefer giving her a second Attack boosting Awakening but the latter seems to be the more popular option.
Awakening V: Increase the team's Attack Speed to increase Lin and her teammates' Attack Speed.
Unfortunately, Lin's Leader Skill isn't particularly good so it would be beneficial to have access to other, better Leader Skills when you put together your team.
Lin and Prospera make an amazing combination against Raid Bosses like Kraken, Python and the Drakes, especially with Prospera's Leader Skill which increases the HP of the backline by 50%.
Lin benefits a lot from being transcended, each attack has a chance to inflict an additional 300% damage, and Lin possesses multi-hit attacks which greatly amplifies the power boosts from Transcendence. She is a strong candidate for investing some of your hard-earned Philosopher's Stones. Her damage output and overall stats receive a significant boost and with her utility in PvE and Raid content, it's well worth having at least one Transcendence Level on Lin.
Having a transcended Lin will be a huge help in clearing certain high-level content in Along with the Gods, especially high-level Raid Bosses and Infinite Tower stages that require specialized Heroes and tactics.
[Queen of Raids]
The Raids where Lin shines brightest are the Kraken Raid, the Pantahras Raid and the Python Raid. You can support her with other Melee and Ranged Heroes who can take advantage of Lin's Armor Break effect and Support Heroes to help keep her alive and buffed.
You can read our guides to the Kraken and Pantahras raids here:
She's also a great hero to use in Guild Raids against the majority of Guild Raid Bosses and she'll also be one of your best bets in the Drake Raids against the Water and Earth Drakes.
[Choosing Runes for Lin]
The rune set-up for Lin has a bit of flexibility and you'll see different players opt for a variety of different effective set-ups. Experiment and see which combination of the following runes works for you.
Many players who use Lin opt for some combination of Accuracy and other runes.
Accuracy runes are particularly useful in Raids as it ensures Lin's high-value attacks such as her Armor Break won't miss, particularly on dangerous enemies with high Evasion like the elemental Drakes.
Some players opt to build Lin with Evasion Runes and try to get her to the maximum Evasion cap of 75%. The combination of Evasion and Accuracy runes on Lin is a popular choice as it's geared towards Lin's strengths in PvE.
Others opt to max out her Critical rate with Critical runes to make the most of her passive, which increases Critical damage by 40%.
One of the great options available to Lin are Vampire runes. They synergize with her passive which also grants the Vampire effect to Lin when her health drops below 70%, thus giving her greater sustain through all phases of the battle. A combination of Vampire and Evasion runes should ensure that Lin becomes very difficult to kill for enemies.
Warrior runes are a solid choice on any hero, increasing their Inability Effect Resistance by 50% and many PvE opponents are capable of inflicting an array of devastating Inability Effects.
Rage runes are a more exotic option on Lin, and she's one of the few Heroes who has a reasonable case for using them. Equipping two Rage runes will increase Lin's Critical hit damage by 20%, giving her an automatic 60% boost with her passive on top of any stat bonuses she gains from runes and accessories.
For her sub-stats, depending on which type of Lin build you want to emphasize, try for the following sub-stats in their respective positional slots.
I: Critical Rate, Attack Speed
III: Evasion, Critical Rate
IV: Evasion, Attack Speed
Keep in mind that you'll be using Lin mainly for PvE modes such as Raids, Infinite Tower and Scenario, and that Melee heroes can boost the team's Critical rate with their Awakening V skills. This means if you have one or two Melee heroes in your various Raid teams, their Critical rate boosts can substitute for Critical runes on Lin. Some heroes such as Melvin also have skills that boost the team's Critical rate in battle which is also something to factor into your decisions.
[Choosing Accessories for Lin]
When it comes to accessories the optimal accessories are Demon or Immortal accessories. However these are high-level endgame items that the majority of players realistically won't have access to.
Fortunately however, Lua accessories are the next best thing for Attack based Heroes and they're highly accessible for the average player.
The main sub-stats you should be looking to increase with your equipped accessories are Attack, Attack Speed, Critical, Evasion and Accuracy.
[Using Lin in PvP]
While Lin is much more proficient in PvE situations, she's no slouch in PvP and can be a serviceable hero if you don't have other options. But be warned, she definitely isn't built for that purpose and is seldom seen on high-level Arena teams. She is also outclassed in PvP situations in the role of Earth Range hero by Prospera.
Lin is undoubtedly one of the top PvE heroes and the Queen of Raids in Along with the Gods. Her relative accessibility as a natural 5-star Hero, and a top-tier 5-star Hero at that, and utility make her a no-brainer to pick up.
Let us know what you think of Lin and how you use her in battle!

Pantahras Raid Guide
How to slay Dekhain’s Demon
Hello Knights! We’re back with another Raid guide for you, this time we’ll be giving you all the info you need to dominate the Pantaharas Raid! If you missed out on our previous guide to the Nhumer and Kraken Raids you can read them here:
Pantahras is an Earth attribute Raid Boss, and he’s a tricky proposition for adventurers. He can hit you with both Physical and Magical attacks and has an arsenal of nasty and deadly Harmful Effects that can easily catch unprepared opponents off guard.
The rune drops from Pantahras include Defense, Attack and Rage runes. Attack and Defense runes are commonly used starter runes, while Rage runes are a bit more exotic but can be used to great effect in certain situations.
This guide will show you which heroes to use against Pantahras and the methods you can use to overcome and slay Dekhain’s Demon.
Pantahras’ attacks will inflict multiple harmful effects at once and understanding these is the key to beating the Pantahras Raid.
Pantahras’ first skill will hit on the physical side of the spectrum and inflict Time Bombs on your team that explode for huge damage after a few seconds.
The second skill Pantahras possesses hits on the physical side of the spectrum and inflicts the Bleed status on its targets, which hits for damage over time and ignores the target’s defensive stats.
Pantahras’ Rot attack will hit on the Magic side of the spectrum and also inflict Poison, which hits for damage over time and ignores the target’s defensive stats.
Pantahras’ passive Gluttony increases Magic Defense by 500%. When you consider that in the Level 13 Raid Pantahras’ Magic Defense sits at a whopping base 9,976 before the passive kicks in, compared to a relatively paltry 614 Physical Defense, it makes sense to focus on Physical attackers.
Unfortunately, gathering the best heroes for the Pantahras Raid is a bit more difficult than in the Nhumer Raid or Kraken Raid as there are more specific requirements for team building, and a lot of the recommended heroes are 4 or 5-stars.
Hwa Ryun isn’t exactly a marquee hero, but during the Pantahras Raid she takes center-stage. Her kit is tailor-made to kill Pantahras and she can easily carry a team to victory. Her Active skill ignores the enemy’s Physical Defense stat when attacking and also halves the enemy’s Physical Defense, and reduces their Attack Power by 30%. She can heal herself without Vampire runes as she naturally has the Vampire Effect on her attacks. She can also buff her own Attack Speed. With Critical and Vampire runes equipped she becomes the perfect solo DPS carry against Pantahras.
Mei, an Ancient Goddess Hero, is the premier Pantahras killer in Along with the Gods, and she has the highest usage rate among heroes for Level 13 of the Pantahras Raid. Her attacks not only do a large amount of damage they also have a range of powerful effects including inflicting Silence and blocking Beneficial Effects. Many of her attacks also have the Vampire Effect, so she can heal herself through her own damage. Mei is also a top-tier hero in Arena and the Python Raid.
Phantom Knight is a natural 3-star Hero and the most easily attainable hero on this list but he’s still a great choice to use. Phantom Knight’s most notable feature is having multiple attacks that can inflict the Bleed status, which can quickly add up on his opponents. He has a well balanced kit and with the attribute advantage against Pantahras, he more than holds his own. If you’re reluctant to invest time and resources into a more obscure 3-star hero, just keep in mind that Phantom Knight can also be used in Minor Arena, where he’s very underrated, and the Python Raid to great effect.
Blith is an amazing all-round Tank and rivals any 5-star Hero despite being a natural 4-star Hero. He provides good healing and support from the frontline against Pantahras. Blith fits more into the meat shield archetype so he won’t provide much in the way of offense. Accordingly, you’ll need to partner him with some other heavy hitters. He is an exceptional damage sponge and functions almost as an auxiliary Support hero.
Phoenix provides a variety of shields to protect his teammates and blunts the opponent’s Attack Power with his auto skills, and is a sturdy Tank with an attribute advantage over Pantahras. His Active skill Shield protects 3 allies and increases their Physical Defense by 50%. His passive Elemental King’s Dignity increases his resistance to Harmful Effects by 30%, making him less susceptible to Pantahras’ abilities.
Morox is a recently released Fire Tank Hero and he’s outstanding against Pantahras. He provides a range of buffs to the team that are especially helpful against Pantahras. Morox inflicts Stun and Slowdown on his enemies while also reducing their Physical Defense by 50% and provides a Physical Shield and 30% Attack Speed buff to his allies.
Atmos is one of the few Water attribute heroes that can be recommended for use against Pantahras, which backs up the fact that she is commonly regarded as the best Tank hero in the game. Atmos provides a damage shield for her allies but her biggest benefit is her ability to remove all harmful effects on all allies with her Active skill, granting them immunity from all harmful effects for 5 seconds and the 15% chance she has to remove a harmful effect on all allies whenever Atmos is attacked. This makes her invaluable, despite her attribute disadvantage.
Lizzy is the best Fire Range Hero in the game right now and she’s a force to be reckoned with against Pantahras. She inflicts multiple statuses against enemies including Slowdown, Bleed and Burn in addition to hitting with multiple guaranteed Critical attacks. She’s also a strong Arena Hero and a must-have in the Python Raid too, so she’s well worth investing in.
Lin is at the absolute pinnacle of Raid heroes and even with just a neutral attribute match-up she shines against Pantahras. Her attacks are not only extremely powerful by themselves but they also inflict bonus HP% damage which is crucial against Raid Bosses. Lin can also Armor Break enemies, reducing their Physical Defense by 100%, softening them up for herself and other Physical attackers to deal huge amounts of damage. Lin is a hero that all players should be using, especially as she’s attainable freely in the Temple of Heroes through Hero Combination.
Prospera’s kit provides a ton of buffs to her teammates while also dealing large amounts of damage. Her Leader Skill is also one of the best in the entire game as she boosts your backline’s HP by 50% each, which makes a huge difference to the survivability of herself and her teammates. She also boosts your team’s Attack Speed and Critical damage while granting herself the Vampire Effect with her passive Adrenalin. Combine Prospera with other DPS heroes like Lin and Hwa Ryun to really maximize their offensive potential.
Ardo is a rock-solid healer and his skills are perfect against Pantahras. Ardo can provide steady healing throughout the battle with multiple healing skills, provide a shield for an ally, and also cleanse your team of the harmful effects Pantahras inflicts. Ardo can also self-revive when his HP is depleted, providing him with even more longevity.
Kadus is a perfect Support hero for the Pantahras Raid with his diverse support skills and attribute advantage. He possesses multiple healing skills providing a steady stream of HP for his allies, a damage blocking shield, the ability to strip his enemies of beneficial effects and he can remove up to two harmful effects at a time from each of his allies.
Divana’s unique abilities make her a useful Support hero against almost any enemy in the game and against Pantahras she provides invaluable team support. Her most notable skill is her Shield which negates any and all damage on herself and her allies for 5 seconds. She also boosts her allies’ Physical Attack Power and Physical Defense and heals them for 30% of their Max HP with her Active skill.
Vern is a 4-star alternative to Styx and Kadus, and is a great hero in his own right. His attribute advantage and Support skills make him a compelling pick, especially as he can nullify Pantahras’ deadly Time Bombs, in addition to the rest of his healing and team support. His Transfusion skill will play a huge role in battle, granting all allies the Vampire effect for 10 seconds and removing two harmful effects from them.
His various debuffs will hinder Pantahras and allow your heavy hitters to freely unleash their skills. If your team is sturdy enough to withstand Pantahras and you’re going for a more offensive approach, Styx can be a great choice to make your battles against Pantahras run smoothly.
There are some other options than the heroes mentioned above, such as Lamus Priest for Fire Support Heroes, as he’s capable of both healing his allies and removing harmful effects. Alshara, an Earth Support Hero, is also another good shout with a range of healing and team buffs, as is the newly released Marcus for similar reasons, although they don’t remove Harmful Effects and may require additional support. Another more left-field option for a tank in the Pantahras Raid is Laon. He has multiple attacks that inflict bonus HP% damage, can create a Physical Shield for 3 allies, inflict Bleed and reduce the enemy’s Defense by 50%.
You can also use any other powerful Earth, Dark/Light or Fire Physical attackers you already have, such as Glen, Serena and Lucius, you just need to support them correctly against Pantahras.
[Planning your Victory]
Due to the constant active and passive damage Pantahras inflicts, you’ll need at least one Support hero who can keep up and provide adequate healing as well as a method to dispose of the Time Bombs and Status Afflictions Pantahras inflicts on enemies. Left unchecked, the combination of Time Bombs, Bleed and Poison will quickly eliminate a team. Pantaharas’ Time Bomb and Bleed can stack on your heroes as well.
It can be difficult to get a read on the flow of battle against Pantahras, especially if you play on Auto or x2 Speed, due to the bursts of damage that will occur, so beware!
Look for heroes with Harmful Effect removal and strong HP healing skills. How you deal with the Time Bombs and other harmful effects will be the crucial factor against Pantahras. Having a Tank, especially one that can provide supplementary healing, cleansing or shields, can also be very beneficial.
If you’re playing manually you’ll have an easier time as you can conserve your cleansing and healing skills and time their use to remove the effects of Bombs, Poison and Bleed as needed.
On the offensive end, you’ll want to have multiple strong Physical DPS Heroes in your team as Pantahras is highly resistant to Magical attacks. Heroes that can self-sustain with Vampire effects, especially without relying on runes, will also excel against Pantahras, the two primary examples of this being Mei and Hwa Ryun. Heroes such as Lizzy and Phantom Knight who can inflict Bleed and Burn will also help in bringing down Pantahras. Any heroes who can reduce an enemy’s Physical Defense will be especially helpful as you should have a team filled with Melee and Range heroes.
Pantahras requires some specific teambuilding and tactics to counter his unique characteristics, so keep these guidelines in mind as you build your team.
If all else fails, just drop down a level in the Pantahras Raid.
We hope you enjoyed this guide and found it useful. Let us know the roster and strategy you use to fight Pantahras or any other thoughts you may have in the comments!

AWTG’s Blockchain explainer - Gas?
Knights, time for another dip into the waters of Blockchain, and what it means for you as gamers!
This time, we’re going to focus on Gas!
<...wrong kind of gas....>
It’s an essential part of the Ethereum Blockchain. As such, it’ll be useful to know a bit about it before we unleash Blockchain upcycling on Along With the Gods!
[...Let’s get to it!...]
You can think of Gas as just that! Gas like you use in a car, it’s the ‘fuel’ of Ethereum, used to keep everything running smoothly.
This super important fee is paid to miners, people who are dedicating time and processing power to solving cryptographically hard puzzles. Their work enables your transaction to complete.
<...slightly different Miners - but hey love the enthusiasm...>
A great example of how this works would be sending money from one bank to another. You set the instruction to send the money, the bank does this on your behalf and you are obliged to pay a small fee for their service.
But miners do a little bit more, when you make a transaction through blockchain, miners also ‘pack’ your transaction and place it in a new block allowing it to complete. All of this takes computing resources, so you have to compensate them for their consumed resources, and you do that with Gas!
Of course, there are some technical terms with all of this. But don’t worry, we can easily understand them!
[...Terms to know...]
A unit that measures the amount of computation needed for a particular operation.
As a comparable analogy, electricity is metered by kilowatt-hours. Using more computation and storage in Ethereum means that more Gas is used. A fundamental reason for metering is that it provides an incentive for people (miners).
This represents the miner fee for any action or transaction. Gas Fee has two parts to it: Gas Limit and Gas Price.
Gas Limit is the maximum amount of Gas a user is willing to pay for performing an action or confirming a transaction. In crypto wallets, the Gas Limit default values can vary depending on the time and/ or the type of action that is being requested and can be set by the user.
Gas Price is the amount of Gwei (a unit of measurement for Ether) a user is willing to spend on each unit of Gas.
The higher the Gas Price a sender is willing to pay, the faster it will be confirmed and put into a block by miners, and this is because the reward they receive will be higher.
Of course, the opposite is true.....
[...Key things to remember when setting a Gas Limit...]
1. Different transactions will generate different Gas costs.
2. If the Gas runs out miners will stop executing the operation.
3. Unused Gas comes back to you. If you set it higher than needed any remaining will be sent back to the user’s account.
4. Senders always pay miner fees, even if a transaction fails. A low gas fee that isn’t enough will result in an error. The transaction will be considered invalid and will be rejected, with an “Out of Gas” error. Gas spent will not be sent back.
Remember the sender always pays the miner fee for computation regardless of whether the transaction goes through or not.
Want to know more? Really dig into the world of gas? Awesome!
There’s a great article by ConsenSys which can give you a whole lot more information!
See, Gas isn't so bad!
Till the next blockchain article!
Hero Spotlight: Ereth
“Take my good-looking attack!”
We’re back with another Along with the Gods Hero Spotlight, featuring Ereth!
If you missed our previous edition featuring Melvin, you can read it here:
Ereth is a natural 4-star Fire attribute Melee Hero and this Handsome Noble is revered as the King of Minor Arena. Just take a look at the top ranking Minor Arena players and you’ll see a commonality among them: Ereth. He’s also powerful enough to take center stage in a variety of other game modes. Ereth has a number of characteristics that elevate him above his station from a natural 4–star Hero to the level of a high-tier 5-star Hero.
Ereth can now be obtained through Hero Combination in the Temple of Heroes by combining: Phantom Knight, Kaho, Starfish Shaman and Fishman Harpoon Soldier.
Read on to find out what makes Ereth so great and how to make the most of him!
-Ereth’s active skill Stab hits a random opponent, removes all beneficial effects on that opponent and increases Ereth’s Attack Power by 30% for 10 seconds.
-His first auto, Shining Sword, homes in on the enemy with the highest Physical Attack and can hit up to two other adjacent enemies, and has a 50% chance to blind the target for 5 seconds.
-His second auto Shh! homes in on the enemy with the highest Magic Attack and can also hit up to two adjacent enemies, with 50% chance to Silence the target for 5 seconds. This attack can punch a huge hole in Magic backlines, with Magic Heroes often being quite frail on the Physical Defense side, and if they manage to survive they’ll be completely nullified and vulnerable with the Silence status.
-Ereth’s passives give a 15% boost to his Attack Power and can entice any opponent who attacks Ereth with a 15% chance.
As you can see, Ereth has a great kit with high damage, limited AoE attacks that can inflict crippling Status afflictions, remove all beneficial effects on a target and buff his own attack by 30%. Ereth doesn’t provide much in the way of traditional support to the rest of the team but his devastating damage and status spreading are more than enough for him to contribute to a team.
Possessing Ereth alone will shoot you up the Minor Arena rankings. In other game modes such as Infinite Tower and Raids and even Major Arena, Ereth is very much still a viable hero. Ereth can also help clear mobs with ease in Scenario mode and can play a key part in the Pantahras and Earth Drake Raids.
Ereth’s rune set-up has quite a few possibilities; however Ereth is best used as a primary Melee damage dealer so keep that in mind when you’re deciding how to rune him. Some players prefer to boost Ereth’s Critical Hit Rate and Critical Hit Damage to boost his overall damage output whereas others prefer to boost his Attack Power to achieve this goal. Evasion runes on Ereth can be used to make him even more difficult to get a hit in for the opponent with his i-frames and increased Evasion numbers.
Vampire runes are popular on many Melee Heroes and can be used on Ereth to give him better longevity, especially as his high damage output will lead to plenty of recovery from the damage inflicted. Warrior runes are always going to be a viable choice on any Hero and will provide Ereth with protection from Inability Effects. The rune sub-stats you’ll want to look out for are Attack and Attack Speed, with Critical Rate also being useful.
Try and find a combination of these runes that work for your Ereth and the team around him. If you want Ereth to have a bit more self-sustain then you can opt to make him a bit more “defensive” with Vampire runes and some specific Awakening choices.
Ereth’s Awakenings are fairly straightforward, however your choice for Awakening II comes down to personal preference.
Awakening I: Increase Attack Power as you want Ereth to do as much damage as possible
Awakening II: You can go with either here as some players enjoy giving Ereth a bit of a buffer from physical hits whereas other players want Ereth to inflict as much damage as possible with the addition of the Bleed status, however the Physical Shield seems to be the more popular choice among high-ranking Arena players
Awakening III: Increase Attack Speed as you’ll want Ereth to attack as much as possible and enter into his animation’s i-frames faster
Awakening IV: Increase Attack Power as you want Ereth to do as much damage as possible
Awakening V: Increase Critical Hit Rate as it increases the Critical Hit Rate for not just Ereth but also the rest of the team. Increased Critical Hit rate benefits Ereth greatly, especially in Minor Arena Ereth vs Blith situations
Ereth is absolutely worth the time and resources it takes to Transcend him. His attacks grow much more powerful when he’s transcended and he becomes even harder to kill. He’s well worth the investment it takes to transcend him all the way to Level 66.
In Minor Arena you’ll often see Ereth paired with a Hero like Blith, a Tank who can provide healing support and defensive cover for the rest of the team from the frontline while Ereth provides the offensive firepower. Ereth benefits from having a frontline partner, especially with his Leader Skill giving 10% more HP for each ally in the frontline in PvP battles.
Ereth is particularly dangerous for backline Heroes, especially Magic Heroes, who naturally have lower Physical Defense and are automatically targeted by Ereth. Ereth is also one of the most effective Heroes available against opposing Blith, another Minor Arena staple, who is notoriously hard to kill.
Whether you’re using him or facing him, there’s no escaping Ereth and the way he defines the Minor Arena meta.
Ereth is a must-have Hero for all players. He is arguably the best Minor Arena Hero in the game and is a useful Hero to have for Scenario, Infinite Tower and other PvE situations as well, and is more than capable as a Raid Hero against Earth attribute Bosses as well.
Let us know what you think of Ereth and how you have him set up!

Nhumer Raid Guide: How to Slay the Devourer of the Desert
Hello Knights! We’re back with another Raid guide for you, this time we’ll be giving you all the info you need to dominate the Nhumer Raid! If you missed out on our previous guide to the Kraken Raid you can read it here:
Nhumer is a fearsome Fire attribute Raid Boss who can make short work of any unprepared adventurers. After you clear the first 3 stages of mobs, you’ll come face-to-face with the monster itself!
Nhumer has arguably the best overall rune drops of all Raid Bosses, as he drops the highly coveted Evasion, Accuracy and Warrior runes. All these rune types are amazing and see significant usage, especially Evasion and Warrior runes which a lot of the top players like to run on their Heroes. This makes the Nhumer Raid a high priority Raid and an important part of progression in the game.
Nhumer hits hard and fast on the physical side, so you’ll need to make sure your team is equipped to deal with constant heavy physical attacks. They also come with a whole range of nasty debuffs and harmful effects that will seriously hurt and slow down your team. Additionally, Nhumer’s kit contains several powerful self-buffs on both the defensive and offensive end, which makes him a tricky opponent to survive and take down.
Nhumer’s first skill inflicts Stun and Burn and the second auto decreases the team’s Magic Power and Physical Defense while the third auto increases his own Magic Defense and Physical Defense by 50% each. Nhumer’s passives are equally as powerful, with the first passive increasing his Attack Power by 200% and the second decreasing Nhumer’s skill cooldown by 5 seconds every time a team member is defeated.
Read on to find out how to overcome the Devourer of the Desert!
Here’s our list of recommended Heroes to use in the Nhumer Raid, we’ve tried to strike a balance between accessibility and viability for players with our selections.
They’ve been separated by class and come with some honorable mentions of other great Heroes you can use:
Melvin will be a key Hero in defeating Nhumer for many players and comes with our highest recommendation. He’s very easy to obtain and fully Awaken and Transcend, and his unique characteristics make him especially effective in taking down Nhumer. He possesses a HP% attack, ability to reduce an opponent’s Defense, can buff his team’s Attack Speed and Critical Hit rate and has the capability to self-sustain throughout the battle. A well-built and fully upgraded Melvin can essentially solo Nhumer and function as a hybrid Tank/Melee DPS. We recommend equipping Vampire and Evasion runes and investing in him if you want a reliable Nhumer killer.
For more detailed information on Melvin you can check out his Hero Spotlight article:
Siho is a natural 4-star Melee Hero and is also highly effective against Nhumer, although not quite as good as Melvin. Her attacks do HP% damage and cause the Bleed and Poison effects on Critical Hits, which make her a highly effective Melee DPS in the Nhumer Raid. She’s also able to sustain herself with an Evasion boosting skill and 40% HP recovery on damage dealt with her auto skill.
Honorable Mentions: Sha’rade, Lucius
Zemer is a great tank in most circumstances and he’s excellent against Nhumer too. Zemer is a true team player against an opponent like Nhumer, with his team Physical Defense and Inability Resistance buffs and ability to inflict the Blind status also helping out the rest of his team. Zemer can be obtained through Hero Combination in the Temple of Heroes.
For more detailed information on Zemer check out his Hero Spotlight article: https://moot.us/lounges/345/boards/1686/posts/4381408/hero-spotlight-zemer
Atmos is an incredible Hero and she shines in the Nhumer Raid. She can withstand Nhumer’s attacks and keep fighting all while supporting her teammates. Her Harmful Effect Immunity buff reduces Nhumer’s disruptions to your team and her other team buffs, especially her shield, will greatly boost your team’s survival rate and ability to finish Nhumer.
Honorable Mentions: Peko, Karen
Kaor is a 5-star Range Hero with a good mix of damage dealing capabilities and CC effects. His abilities work well in the Nhumer Raid as he not only deals solid damage but has several beneficial effects attached to his skills such as Slowdown and Excessive Bleeding which help a lot in mitigating Nhumer’s onslaught.
Akurel is often compared to Kaor for their similar characteristics and although Kaor often comes out of those comparisons slightly ahead, Akurel is still a great Hero and has one distinct advantage over Kaor: Akurel is a natural 4-star Hero which makes him easier to Awaken and Transcend than Kaor. Akurel also provides great damage output and beneficial effects such as reducing the opponents’ Attack Speed and inducing Stun and Silence.
Tallia is a very easily obtainable 3–star Hero, she appears in Heroic Dungeons, who can do a lot of damage against Nhumer. Her ease of acquisition as well as upgrading can make her an incredibly viable choice for a Water Range DPS for many players if they don’t possess Kaor or Akurel. Her active skill halves the target’s Physical Defense, allowing herself and her teammates to inflict big damage. Her auto skill also ignores the opponent’s Defense stat which is especially useful against an opponent like Nhumer. She can also inflict the Blind and Bleed statuses with her attacks.
Honorable Mentions: Lin
Alexis is a Hero you’ll be familiar with if you’re an avid player of Arena mode. He’s one of the most powerful Heroes in the game and with his Water attribute advantage over Nhumer he’s a force to be reckoned with. Not only do Alexis’ attacks deal a huge amount of damage, with his active skill hitting with guaranteed Critical Hits, but they also debuff the enemy a ton. He can inflict Slowdown, Damage Weapon, Weaken and Stun with his attacks.
Elheim is designed to take down Raid Bosses and as a Water attribute Hero, she’s a huge threat to Nhumer. Her HP% based Magic attacks will strip Nhumer’s HP bar down quickly and the effects on her attacks are also very helpful. Her attacks can inflict multiple instances of the Poison status as well as Stun, providing steady passive damage in addition to her powerful active skill, Void Spear.
Zenon is a high-capacity Magic DPS, who isn’t a specialist in Raids but is arguably the best Magic DPS Hero against Nhumer. Zenon’s active skill hits with HP% damage and his other skills carry a bunch of super helpful debuffs and effects. He can induce lowered Attack Speed, Stun, Weaken and Slowdown with his attacks which greatly hinder Nhumer all while pumping out big damage numbers.
Turan is a more accessible option for Water Magic Heroes than the 5-star Heroes listed above him and is still highly effective as a Raid specialist. His Light Shards can also be obtained with Raid Coins in the Special Shop. His active skill packs a huge punch against Nhumer with its bonus HP% damage while also reducing Physical Defense by 50%, and many players will find him more than adequate in the role of Magic DPS against Nhumer.
Honorable Mentions: Tiat, Oliver
Ramia is an amazing all-round Support Hero with healing, team buffs, opponent debuffs and a little bit of damage dealing thrown in too. Ramia’s ability to provide Harmful Effect Immunity, healing and reduce Nhumer’s Attack Power by 30% are particularly helpful. These characteristics, which the Fire Heroes Styx and Kadus also share, plus her Water attribute make her a leading candidate for your Nhumer team.
Hellen is a natural 3-star Hero, but an evolved 5-star copy is given out to players at the beginning of the game. Most players should have a copy of her lying around, which helps make her easy to recommend to the average player. If not, you can always obtain her through the Heroic Dungeon and upgrade her easily. She’s a very steady, solid healer and with the attribute advantage against Nhumer she does a fine job. Hellen will be a viable option if you don’t possess any of the other Support Heroes mentioned, such as Kadus or Ramia. However, as you take on the higher level Nhumer stages she may become less effective, especially in a solo Support role and we recommend supplementing her or replacing her entirely once you get to the highest level Nhumer Raids.
It may seem odd to recommend using a Hero who has an attribute disadvantage against a Raid Boss but Ardo is an exception in this case. Ardo is renowned for being one of the best straight-up healers in the game. His skillset doesn’t contain anything fancy like debuffs or magic attacks, he just heals and cleanses your team but he does it well and sometimes that’s all you need.
Honorable Mentions: Styx, Kadus, Misty, Oswald
[Putting it all Together]
Now that you know which Heroes you should be looking out for, let’s put them together and talk about composition and strategy. As Nhumer is a Fire attribute Boss you’ll be relying primarily on Water attribute Heroes to take him down, especially in the damage-dealing department.
We recommend having at least one support unit when facing Nhumer for healing and, if possible, cleansing and status removal. Having DPS Heroes with HP% attacks will be critical to taking on Nhumer effectively. Having a Tank Hero in your frontline can be very helpful especially if your team is frail as they will be able to absorb some of Nhumer’s offensive pressure and provide a defensive boost to the rest of your team, however some teams can function without one.
Nhumer can be punishing for defensively weak teams or teams that can’t finish him quickly enough so it may be necessary to run two support Heroes to sustain your team and ensure your team doesn’t wipe out. If your team has enough offensive firepower to put Nhumer down quickly you may only need one support Hero and can run a solo Melee DPS in your frontline with your other Heroes being Range and Magic DPS Heroes, but at the highest levels of the Nhumer Raids this will require fully upgraded/transcended Heroes to pull off consistently. As usual against Raid Bosses, Heroes who can use HP% damage attacks will carry the load offensively.
Heroes that can debuff Nhumer’s Attack and Attack Speed will be very beneficial, in addition to Heroes who can buff your own teams’ stats, especially Defense, to survive Nhumer’s attacks. Heroes such as Zemer and Atmos are great for this purpose as they buff your team’s Defense and shield from Harmful and Inability Effects which will stop Nhumer from overwhelming you. Having a Hero who can negate Nhumer’s self Defense buff is also important if you plan to make Physical Attackers the focus of your team
Melvin has an ability which cuts enemies’ Physical Defense by 50% for 10 seconds which provides a huge window of opportunity for himself and his Range and Melee teammates to hit Nhumer for big damage. Tallia and Turan have similar skills to reduce Physical Defense, and combined they can open Nhumer up to huge damage on the physical side. Look for synergies like this among your pool of viable Heroes.
As always, prioritize ensuring completion over anything else when making a Raid team, there’s nothing worse than leaving an auto-battle run going and coming back to see that you wiped out.
The goal of building a Raid team is building a team strong enough to successfully auto-battle a Raid Boss. If your team isn’t strong enough to auto clear a stage every time without fail then you should add another support Hero for the extra security, or perhaps change your overall team composition around to see if something else works better, or drop down a level in the Nhumer Raid.
We hope you enjoyed this guide and found it useful. Let us know the roster and strategy you use to fight Nhumer or any other thoughts you may have in the comments!

A Guide to Choosing your Hero from the Selective Hero Scroll
Along with the Gods: Knights of the Dawn is now available from Google Play Store! Download and play the game from the link below:
After completing Stage 1–10 in Scenario mode you’ll be gifted with a Selective Hero Scroll which presents you a choice of natural 4-star heroes to choose from. Here’s a quick guide to help you make your decision!
First off, there are no bad choices here and if you simply choose who you think looks coolest that’s fine. These heroes are all solid, especially for new players, so don’t be too concerned that you’re making a terrible mistake. You’ll also gather a lot of heroes throughout your journey, including the ones available from this list.
However, there are pros and cons for each hero. Maybe you’ve already got other 4- or 5- star heroes and don’t want to double up on roles. Maybe you need a hero to help you clear Scenario as fast as possible or maybe you’re thinking long-term. We’re here to help.
Vincent is a water-type tank with insane durability; however, you will be gifted a free 4-star tank in Arthur soon after this point so keep that in mind. He is still a solid pick if you choose to use him, especially if you require a trusty Water hero. He absolutely wins the coolest looking hero as well.
Harley is a strong choice to consider as he is an absolute beast in Scenario mode. He will obliterate enemies in Normal and Hard mode with his high damage output and freezing capabilities. In the final areas of Scenario mode you’ll be facing a lot of Fire enemies so he’s extremely helpful there too. He’s also combination material for the powerful 5-star hero Oliver and many players would consider this a huge positive to picking Harley.
Carmen is a very useful Support character who specializes in the Fire raids against Havoc and Nhumer. Her abilities are uniquely effective against the two Raid bosses and you may find her carrying your Raid teams against them. She can even hold up in other Raids with the right rune and team set-up.
Bella is a Fire Tank hero. She’s a solid pick for people who want a Tank who can bully enemies with her stun and pushback, and sponge hits. Apart from Scenario mode, some players like utilizing her as part of their frontline in Arena mode too. However she doesn’t particularly shine in any particular mode or aspect.
Mumu is an Earth Melee hero with an interesting set of abilities including HP% Damage Abilities. She shines brightest in the raid against Kraken. She can also be a strong niche/counter pick in Arena against Water based teams with her abilities and typing.
Gangbi is a Fire Melee character. Initially some players may be underwhelmed by him as he can be quite frail despite his high damage output. However, as you acquire better runes and better support for him his longevity can massively improve and his ability to AOE stun opponents is a huge boon.
René is an Earth Ranged character. She is most useful in Arena, especially Minor, and is very powerful in Scenario mode and the Raid against Kraken too. She has a high damage ouput and has the incredibly useful and annoying ability to turn her opponents into squirrels, giving her a solid form of crowd control.
Benechia is a Fire Support character. Her main purpose on a team is as a physical buffer. She also buffs your team’s critical rate and debuffs opponents. If you have or plan to build a physically oriented team she can be a great choice. She will find use in Scenario mode as well as several of the Raids due to her abilities. She is also available as a combination hero in the Temple of Heroes so some players would rather obtain her through that method than choose her here.
De’Har is an Earth Mage. She is very adept at clearing enemies out in Scenario Mode with her high damage output and AOE attacks. She lacks the same level of utility in Raid mode, although she can still find use in Arena mode and can wipe out opposing players’ teams if given the chance.
Aaron is a Fire Ranged character. He has respectable bulk to go with his steady damage output. However, players will want to try to obtain Evan, another Fire Ranged hero. You can combine heroes to summon Evan and in turn Evan is combination material for Zemer, one of the best Tank units in the game. For many players, they may find Aaron superfluous.
In the end, if you care a lot about optimizing your early game or long-term use, Harley and Carmen are the two front-runners. Harley in particular is a popular and well regarded choice, but each choice of hero has its merits.

Hero Spotlight: Melvin - "Emptiness will lead us to the new world!"
We're back with another Along with the Gods Hero Spotlight, featuring Melvin!
If you missed our previous edition featuring Zemer, you can read it here:
Melvin is a natural 3-star hero of the Water attribute and Melee class. While you may assume due to his modest 3-star rating that he's not an outstanding hero, that couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, he's one of the best Raid units in the game, particularly in the all-important Nhumer raid, and has many desirable characteristics that you'll discover as you raise him.
Melvin appears in the Normal and Premium Hero Scroll Summon Lists, as well as the Water Hero Scroll. He can also be acquired as an Investigation reward and as a drop reward from completing stages in Area 16 of Scenario mode. As a 3-star hero Melvin is very easy to obtain and raise. This is beneficial in both attaining him and upgrading him. 3-star heroes such as Melvin tend to be relatively straightforward to Awaken and Transcend as you'll acquire many more dupes than you would of a 4 or 5-star hero.
Melvin's skills not only boost himself but also the rest of your team and allow him to be both long-lasting while having solid damage output. His first passive is the incredible Revive skill which allows Melvin to revive once when his HP runs out with 50% of his HP. This makes him even more of a problem to take down. His Formation Leader Skill boosts the frontline's Attack Speed by 17% in raids which just adds even more to his utility in Raid situations.
His Active Skill reduces the target's Defense by 50% for 10 seconds while stunning them for 2 seconds, which provides a window of opportunity for both Melvin and other heroes on your team to increase their damage output. Melvin's Auto skill Cruel Prayer increases the Critical Hit rate and Attack Speed of all allies by 30% for 10 seconds. Hollow Attack, his second auto skill, hits with 4 critical hits with 7% of the enemy's Max HP as bonus damage while inflicting the Excessive Bleed status and recovering his HP by 20% of the damage inflicted.
Melvin is a dependable Melee hero, especially in Raids, with his HP% damage attacks, boosts to himself and his allies and capability to become a self-sustaining pseudo-tank who can still pack a punch.
How to Build Melvin
The most popular rune set-up seen on Melvin is a combination of two Evasion and two Vampire runes which make him a self-sustaining hero with high survival capabilities. You'll want to boost his Evasion and HP as much as you can with your sub-stats, especially with Melvin's second passive granting him an Attack boost equivalent to 1% of your Max HP. This is the most synergistic rune set-up with Melvin's innate characteristics and his use as a Melee Raid killer.
When choosing his Awakenings you want to consider Melvin's role. As a hero that you will primarily use in Raids you'll want to build him for this purpose. Our suggested Awakenings for Melvin are HP for Awaken I, Physical Wall for Awaken II, Crazy Warrior for Awaken III, Evasion Rate for Awaken IV and Skilled Assassin for Awaken V which raises Melvin and his allies' Critical Hit rate by up to 10%. Selecting these Awakenings helps make Melvin tough on both the defensive and offensive spectrum and a great front-line hero for your team.
A correctly built and upgraded Melvin can take on the Nhumer Raid virtually single-handed, and work well in other Raids too. The Nhumer Raid is one of the most important Raids in the game as it provides several coveted rune types such as Evasion, Accuracy and most importantly Warrior runes.
If you haven't already acquired or upgraded Melvin you should add him to your to-do list. He's a low investment, high return hero. Newer players especially will find Melvin useful as he's easy to Awaken and Transcend and can help you progress through the game faster. Melvin is a hero that deserves a place in every player's roster.
We hope you enjoyed this latest edition of our Hero Spotlight series and stay tuned for more. Let us know your thoughts and what you think of Melvin!

Kraken Raid Guide: How to Slay the King of the Deep Sea
Hello Along with the Gods players! We’re back with another guide for you, this time we’ll be giving you all the info you need to dominate the Kraken raid!
Kraken is a fierce Raid Boss of the Water attribute. After you clear the first 3 stages of mobs, you’ll come face-to-face with the monster itself!
Kraken’s rune drops are Penetration, Vampire, Critical and Patience runes. The most valuable among these are Vampire runes, which are a popular rune choice on many heroes and well worth farming. As with other Raid bosses, Kraken will also drop other valuable items such as Rune Dust, Gold, Evolution Incarnations and Premium Hero Scrolls.
Unlike other Raid bosses such as Havoc or Python, who are more restrictive in which heroes will be effective against them, Kraken is a bit easier to build for and you can be more flexible with the units you use. As a general rule of thumb, heroes who can do HP % based damage are going to be your best option against raid bosses, especially when they have an attribute advantage. In this case, Earth heroes will have the advantage against Kraken.
One of the defining aspects of the fight against Kraken is its ability to regenerate its own health. This means you’ll either have to bring a hero who can block/reduce healing or simply out-damage its recovery, which requires extra firepower and can make the battle a lot longer and trickier.
Kraken deals primarily magic damage so you’ll want to make sure your heroes can survive its barrage of magical attacks. Kraken’s own magical defense is high, so you’ll want to channel your offense through physical attackers, although there are some magic heroes who can still be effective, which we’ll discuss below.
Kraken also has the ability to manipulate the positioning of your heroes. It can push your frontline back and bring your backline forwards, enabling it to neutralize your melee attackers and hit your support and magic heroes with its tentacles which deal physical damage, as opposed to the main body which deals magic damage. Destroy the tentacles quickly to neutralize this threat.
You’ll face various other debuffs and crowd control methods from Kraken, including a debuff which stops your team from being able to receive any positive effects. Its crowd control effects can cause major disruptions to your team so having a hero who can mitigate that and/or equipping Warrior runes on your team will give you a greater chance of victory.
Naturally you’ll want to bring Earth attribute heroes when you aim to take Kraken on. Here’s a list of, and quick rundown on, the best Earth heroes to use against Kraken.
[The Best Heroes to Use Against Kraken]
Lin, a 5-star hero, is the Queen of Raids and the Kraken raid is where she shines the brightest. Her HP % based skills takes huge chunks out of Kraken’s health bar and her armor break enables other teammates to increase their damage output too. You can obtain her through Hero Combination in the Temple of Heroes.
Glen is a powerful 5-star Earth melee hero and his attribute advantage and raw damage output make him a big threat to Kraken. His ability to inflict the Bleed and Stun effects with his attacks is also a huge boost to his effectiveness. The Legendary Chef chops Kraken up in next to no time.
Prospera is a 5-star Ranged character and as an Ancient Goddess you already know she’s going to pack a punch. Her skills, attribute and natural power make her a great Kraken killer. Her Formation Leader skill which increases the backline’s HP by 50% is also amazing for boosting your team.
Peishan is a 4-star Ranged hero whose attacks cause the Bleed effect and the Heal Block effect, which alongside her high single-target damage output makes her tailor-made to destroy Kraken. You can purchase Peishan’s Light Shards in the Arena Special Shop with Team Arena medals. If you want to make light work of Kraken, bring Peishan.
Ardo is one of the best Earth healers in the game and. His natural sturdiness, self-revive ability, and attribute advantage alongside his powerful healer skills, which includes both HP recovery and debuff removal, make him a great choice to anchor your team.
Divana is a stand-out Earth Support hero and can completely block all damage on the team for 5 seconds with her active skill, while her auto skills heal her teammates and removes debuffs. She is a great healer for almost every situation.
René can function as a Kraken killer with the right set-up and support. While she’s not quite as effective as some of the other Ranged heroes on this list she is quite easy to obtain compared to a hero like Prospera and will still do a lot of damage against Kraken.
Patricia is a mage without any HP% based attacks, yet she still proves herself to be one of the better heroes to use against Kraken. Her skills increase the cooldown of enemy attacks and decrease enemy attack speed and energy acquisition which will all severely hamper Kraken. She also has enough raw power to contribute offensively in bringing down Kraken.
Jenia is hugely effective against Kraken and she’s easily obtainable for most players through Hero Combination in the Temple of Heroes. Her attacks deal HP% based damage and combined with her Earth attribute she absolutely shreds through Kraken. If you don’t have access to some of the rarer heroes mentioned she’s a godsend.
Blith is a powerful Earth tank who can easily endure Kraken’s attacks and dish out damage and lead your frontline against Kraken. Blith’s great sustainability comes from his ability to heal himself and his teammates while also being to generate offensive pressure.
Arkhan is another Earth Tank who can help you immensely against Kraken. His high HP and Shield abilities make him able to survive throughout the battle against Kraken and provide support to the rest of your team.
Other Earth heroes such as Floria and Alshara are great against Kraken too. Many of the heroes mentioned above are 4-star heroes and/or obtainable through Hero Combination or purchasable Light Shards which helps make Kraken one of the most accessible raids.
While attribute advantage is an important aspect of Raid Boss battles, many heroes from the Water attribute can also be effective against Kraken too. Oliver, for example, a Water mage, has an auto skill that blocks her opponents’ ability to heal. Turan and particularly Elheim, despite being mages, are also useful against Kraken due to their HP % attacks and attribute neutrality. Zemer and Atmos are highly effective as tanks in the Kraken raid. Most players will also have access to Hellen and she is more than usable as a healer versus Kraken as well. If you have some strong Water heroes don’t be afraid to mix them into your team.
There is also a very limited group of special Fire heroes who can be used successfully in the Kraken raid. Kadus and Styx are both great heroes to use with their amazing support abilities.
[Putting it all Together]
Now that you know how Kraken operates and which heroes are good to use, you need to put them together in a team. For the Kraken raid we would recommend that you have at least one Ranged DPS hero such as Lin or Peishan as a heavy hitter. Having a tank such as Zemer will be beneficial to your team and alongside them you can add a Melee DPS such as Jenia or Glen. If you want to go all-out in attack you can have two DPS heroes in your frontline. The number of support heroes required can vary between one and two, depending on the overall strength of your team and their ability to withstand Kraken’s attacks. If you only need one support hero you can use this as a flex slot, perhaps add another DPS hero to make the battle against Kraken quicker. Try to make sure at least one of your heroes has the ability to block healing.
The goal of building a raid team is building a team strong enough to successfully auto-battle a Raid boss. If your team isn’t strong enough to auto clear a stage every time without fail then you should add another support hero for the extra security, or perhaps change your overall team composition around to see if something else works better. Only then should you aim to clear Kraken as fast as possible. Safety first should be your mantra.
If you’re finding that even with an extra support hero, or tinkering with your composition, that your team is failing to clear Kraken close to 100% of the time, you should drop down a level and focus on strengthening your team.
When farming raids you want to ensure your streak won’t be stopped on auto-battle and then after that ensure you clear the stage as fast as possible for maximum efficiency.
We hope you enjoyed our guide to the Kraken raid and found it helpful! Feel free to leave your thoughts and any other advice you may have as well!

AWTG’s Blockchain explainer – What's a Wallet?
Hi Knights, it’s time for another dip into blockchain and gaming! Are you ready? Last time we spoke about NFTs and their awesomeness for blockchain gaming. Missed out? Go catch up.
This time, we’re going to take a step back. Dealing with a blockchain essential. The Wallet. Luckily we can make this super relatable. A Crypto Wallet acts like a normal wallet. It holds your valuable items. Such as those valuable NFTs…
When it comes to CryptoWallets, there are four main types.
We could dig in deep on all four, but for blockchain gaming, it’s best to look at two in particular. Cloud and Mobile wallets. These are known as “hot’ wallets because they are internet-connected and software-based. There’s nothing Physical about them.
You’ll need a wallet to interact with Blockchain Games, and this will handle any NFT you acquire. We recommend a couple of different Wallets, all of them are super easy to use and work great with the PlayDapp ecosystem. The three we recommend are Samsung Blockchain wallet, Portis.io and MetaMask. All three have been tested robustly with our games.
So, what do you need to use a wallet?
For the Samsung Blockchain Wallet you’ll need the Samsung Blockchain wallet app, which is available for the Samsung Galaxy series. For the others, you’ll need an email address you have access to.
For all three the process of creating a wallet is super easy. You’ll be guided by the wallet set up, but we’ll give you a breakdown of two important parts here.
Mnemonic phrase / seed phrase.
This is a group of 12 words that allow you to have access to the wallet. It's super important as if you ever need to transfer the wallet address to a different system (say import MetaMask to portis, then you’ll need this.) It’s super important to keep a record of this group of words.
This is an alphanumeric string of characters; this is essentially like a bank account number. It’s your unique identifier on the blockchain. This is the address you’ll use to send anything to and to receive anything too. This wallet address will also act as a unique identifier for your account across the PlayDapp ecosystem.
Of course, with the wallet storing super important things, like NFTs you need to take care. Some basic safety tips are:
Use antivirus and anti-malware software on your desktop or laptop.
Have a strong and secure firewall installed.
Never install unverified software or apps on your device.
Do not get phished and always check the URL twice before accessing your web-wallets.
Use only trusted wallets and always update them ASAP.
Use 2-FA authentication in case you have stored crypto for a day or two on exchanges.
Keep your passwords very hard to guess or brute-force.
Avoid accessing your crypto wallet from public wifi.
You can take some deep dives into wallets and really get to know them here:
After you create and connect your wallet to any Blockchain game you’ll be able to play and keep track of all your progress. Not only that but those valuable items will be in your wallet.

AWTG’s Blockchain explainer – Non-fungible tokens (NFT).
We’re starting our journey into the awesome world of Blockchain Gaming! Introducing the Non-fungible token (NFT). NFTs are one of the most exciting parts of the blockchain game ecosystem. Now we can go on and explain this all in highly technical terms. Using examples like lending a dollar to a friend and them deciding to pay it back with a bracelet. And how this works in a Fungible state but we want to make it more friendly for you.
Imagine you had an awesome rune in Along with the Gods, or a badass leveled character with equipped runes. Now, normally the best you could do with such a thing is to use it in-game and then when you find a better one, move on. We say this is unfair. You invested the time to level up and play, so why should all that go to waste?
Well with the power of NFTs that won’t be the case, imagine that character is now useable in a different way in a new game, giving you some serious power-up. Or totally sellable to another player, with zero risks in the trade. Or if you’re not interested in either you can flaunt it for all the world to see, showing off that sweet item.
Pretty cool for one game right? Well, PlayDapp isn’t doing this for just one game, we’re applying this to an ecosystem. Meaning, any item you get in any game will unlock some awesome things in any game.
🔥NFT for the gamer!🔥
When it comes to NFTs for gamers there are some core things to remember, and these are where the awesome power comes from!
Unique – Each and every NFT is Unique, once created no other NFT will be the same. You may be able to make them look the same but each one is technically unique. This means that if you start trading them, you’ll always be able to trace the exact game item.
Limited Ownership – Each NFT is owned, it can’t be split or shared. This ownership is also independently recorded on the blockchain. This record is also 100% independently visible, and tamper-resistant.
This all guarantees that the NFT is verifiably yours, form uniqueness, history of ownership and trade, and to any enhancements and changes.
NFTs represent some powerful changes in the way that games are played. As well as how rewarding they will be. With our vision of NFTs and gaming, we believe that you’ll be able to play any game in the PlayDapp ecosystem and get the great gameplay you expect but in-game items will also be transferable between players and between games.
Moving a game item (NFT) across games will be incredibly easy as rather than living exclusively in the game any NFT game item lives in blockchain wallet. – We’ll be covering this in another post, but for now, just think of it literally as a wallet that holds your valuable game items.
Not only that but, when trading items between players you’ll be able to use the PlayDapp NFT marketPLAce, which is a trustless and risk-free environment. On top of this, any NFT game item you sell will give you ETH, a cryptocurrency.
So, the key things to take away are, NFTs represent a brand-new way to own gaming items and, if you're inclined, make money by trading. NFT-ization of game items gives you control over your items. Letting you show them off, keep track of them, and store them securely forever via the blockchain.
We can't wait to start applying NFT and Blockchain technology to more games and we are sure that you'll find some awesome value in the future direction of Along with the Gods: Knights of the dawn!

Hero Spotlight: Zemer
Meet this fearsome Water Tank!
“I’ll be the protection of light”
We’re back with another Along with the Gods Hero Spotlight, featuring Zemer!
If you missed our previous edition on Floria you can read it here: https://moot.us/lounges/345/boards/1686/posts/4148111/hero-spotlight-floria
Zemer is a default 5-star Water Tank hero, and is right up there as one of the best Tanks in the game! What’s more, any player can obtain him for free through Hero Combination in the Temple of Heroes. Everyone should make it a priority to be able to fuse him if they haven’t already. He’s well worth the effort!
You’ll need Jenia, Evan, Misty and Rex as combination materials. Jenia and Evan can be attained through combination themselves while Misty can be obtained by purchasing her Light Shards from the Arena Shop with Team Arena medals. Rex will be the trickiest hero to obtain as you need to randomly summon him through scrolls or synthesis.
So, what makes Zemer so great?
Zemer is an all-rounder who can be used to great effect in both PvE and PvP. He’s a beast in the Arena and also does well in the various PvE modes such as Infinite Tower and Story. He’s also an effective hero to use in the Nhumer and Havoc Raids.
With great stats and an immense HP pool, Zemer is incredibly useful as a tank. He also has sky-high Physical Defence and his Skills augment this further. Opponents will have a hard time bringing Zemer down through physical attacks.
His skills are top-notch, providing an unbelievable amount of buffs and support to himself and the rest of his team. Zemer’s active skill deals 300% physical damage along with 10% of his Max HP as bonus damage, which ties in well with his overall tank build. His active also makes him completely invincible for 5 seconds. Powerful stuff.
His auto skill protects all allies with the dragon’s armor to increase the Physical Defense for 10 seconds and grant immunity against inability effects for 5 seconds, the former is a nice buff but the latter is a game-changer and a huge part of Zemer’s overall appeal. His passives provide a 15% chance of cleansing his allies whenever he takes a hit as well as a 20% boost to his own defenses. His overall kit is perfectly engineered to augment himself while also strengthening the rest of your team.
Zemer also has the option to boost his Inability Effect Resistance even further through Awakening, making him almost impervious to Inability Effects. He can further boost his HP with his Awakening I skill, and his Awakening IV skill can further boost his HP too. With fully leveled Awakenings he can receive up to an additional 40% to his HP. Other Awakening upgrades allow you to increase other important stats such as Attack Speed.
Zemer is a super flexible character when it comes to rune set-up. The standard PvP focused set-up of Philosopher and Warrior Runes works as well as ever, providing Zemer with a 50% boost to his Inability Effect Resistance as well as 10% more energy at the start of a battle. However, due to Zemer’s overall versatility, he can equip other types of runes effectively as well.
Some top players have been seen equipping him with Torrent runes and/or Recovery runes, letting him provide even more utility to the rest of the team by providing extra acquired energy or received recovery. Patience runes are also an option to beef up his lower Magic Defence stat. Some players even like to simplify things completely by equipping Life runes on him to boost his HP as much as possible.
Another more exotic variation consists of combining Vampire runes with Evasion runes. This turns Zemer into an incredibly frustrating problem for your opponent. Alongside his natural bulk, his heightened evasion and HP recovery from attacks make him doubly hard to kill.
In general, you should keep Attack Speed and HP in mind as important rune sub-stats for Zemer when you build him. Zemer should be built to survive as long as possible in battle and sponge damage in the frontline while getting off as many skills as he can to help his team. Beyond that, Zemer can largely be molded to the needs of your team so feel free to customize him as you see fit.
Zemer is one of the game’s best Tanks and every player should make him part of their roster. Individually, he’s an incredibly durable hero, but he also provides an amazing array of benefits to your team as a whole with his buffs and shields. There are few better at leading your frontline.
Let us know your thoughts on Zemer and how you use him!
How to Become an Arena Mode God!
Featuring Tips from the #1 ranked World Team Arena player — Jimmy13
The Arena mode is Along with the Gods’ crown jewel, and many players dream of climbing the ladder and ascending into the Hall of Fame.
In this article, we’re going to take a comprehensive look at all the variations of Arena mode and then get one of the top players in the world to share their secrets and advice with you! A massive thank you to Jimmy13 for sharing his time and knowledge with us.
You’ll go from a wimp to a winner in no time after reading this.
First off, let’s discuss the four types of Arena battles you can enter. Major Arena sees you take a team of 5 heroes without any restrictions into battle. Minor Arena restricts you to using only heroes of a default 4-star grade or lower. In Team Arena you select 15 heroes who fight in three teams of 5 in a best-of-three format, and World Team Arena where only the top players are permitted to enter and the competition is fiercer. We’ll talk more about the specific strategies required for each a bit later.
The key principles to remember in Arena are to hit hard and hit first. One overriding tip that applies to all Arena modes is to avoid CC (Crowd Control) and Inability Effects at all costs. Getting stunned, silenced or frozen will put you at a huge, often fatal, disadvantage as your opponent will most likely launch their attacks before you and you’ll be completely helpless to defend yourself.
To this end, Warrior, Philosopher and Evasion Runes will be your best bet if you’re trying to dominate in Arena mode. Warrior Runes provide a 50% boost to your inability effect resistance. Evasion will make your opponents’ attacks miss and prevent them from damaging you. Philosopher Runes allow you to start the battle with more energy meaning you get to unleash your active skills sooner. Accessories and Awakening buffs that further boost these stats are also going to be critical components of your builds.
Any hero who can provide CC in their skillset, especially their active skill as they ignore evasion, is incredibly valuable. Consequently, heroes who can prevent CC are also incredibly valuable. Some examples of great CC manipulating heroes include Zemer and Oliver. Zemer can grant himself and his entire team complete immunity to inability effects for 5 seconds. Oliver’s skills turn her victims into squirrels and freezes them, rendering them incapable of action. Look for heroes with similar effects and abilities.
You’ll want a team that can avoid damage, avoid taking CC effects while being able to dish out damage and enact CC effects on your opponents. Keep this in mind when you’re building your team by selecting your heroes and their runes. As it stands right now, mages are the dominant damage dealing class in Arena however there are plenty of melee characters such as Zemer, Ereth and Glen and Rangers such as Prospera and Akurel who are key heroes in Arena.
Setting your skill order is another important aspect of success in Arena mode, you’ll need to set up the right order if you want to win. There’s no point saving your best damage output for last when by that time your entire team has probably already been wiped out. Your team’s skills should flow in a logical manner and in accordance with the principles outlined earlier.
However, there is still room to maneuver and tinker as alternative playstyles can be successful, if you have the creativity, knowledge and resources. Some players will disregard the rapid burst style of game-play and opt for more defensively sound teams that can slug it out if they happen to have the right heroes and resources.
If you’re struggling with how to build a hero, or have no idea where exactly to start, a handy tip is to look at the leaderboards or Hall of Fame and take a look at the top ranked players for some “inspiration”. Good artists copy, great artists steal, as they say. You can visit their profile and see their heroes and how they have them set up.

Each type of Arena battle requires different strategies to fit their unique characteristics.
Major Arena is the most straightforward of the Arena mode types. But that doesn’t mean you should just throw 5 heroes together. Think about your team synergy and how your team functions as a unit. Do you have a way to prevent Inability Effects? Will your DPS mage have the support to be able to get their active off before the opponent can take them out? Can you deal with Water tanks such as Atmos and Zemer?
In the Minor Arena some heroes’ viability increases drastically as they don’t have to compete with default 5-star heroes. You’ll need to reevaluate which heroes you rely on, no more relying on obvious powerhouses such as Atmos and Patricia here. Rene, Floria, Ereth, Blith, Akurel and Vern are commonly regarded as some of the best heroes in Minor Arena.
In Team Arena you’ll need more than 5 heroes to put out on the battlefield, you’ll need 15! You’ll need to think about how to distribute your heroes to give yourself the best chance of winning the best-of-three format, especially if you have heroes of differing strength levels.
There’s also an added layer of strategy here due to the best-of-three format and the fact that you can change around the order in which they’ll face the opposing team. Do you load up your best heroes in one team or balance out the power? Do you send your weakest team out against their stronger first team so your first team can get the win against an ostensibly weaker second team?
A lot of players will set their best team as their first team in defence, their second strongest next and their weakest as their last. This might be a psychological thing but it is something to take note of. Maybe it’s something you’re guilty of doing in setting your defense team as well.
If you feel like your strongest team can’t beat their first defense team you can sacrifice your weakest team to them and preserve your stronger team to give yourself a better chance of winning the next two battles.
Judging this is a skill you’ll need to learn as you play and knowing the likely outcome of a battle beforehand is going to help you make the right decisions.
There are also some little tricks you can apply in the 5 hero Arena modes. Maintaining a winning streak in Arena will enable you to climb higher and faster and also gain more Coins for the Arena Shop. You should take a look at each listed opponent and take them on in an appropriate order. Try and keep a number of the easiest, or at least winnable, opponents for last so you can potentially build a bigger streak as the list refreshes.
Looking at the opponents’ teams before battle can also help you make decisions based on strengths and weaknesses. Helping you to decide things such as elemental match-up adjustments, or subbing in a Physical Defence buffer if you notice their team is focused on strong physical attackers. You should also make sure to test and observe your teams in action to get a clear picture of what is and isn’t working for your team.
That’s our Tips and Tricks, but what about a real player, how do they put it into action?
If you’ve ever taken a look at the Arena leaderboards or Hall of Fame you’ll be familiar with the name ‘Jimmy13’. He was kind enough to agree to an interview and share his knowledge with us:
PlayDapp: What do you think is the biggest mistake new players, or players in general, make when it comes to Arena?
Jimmy13: I feel the biggest mistake for new players is focusing on PVP too early. The main focus should be on progression. The first part is to advance to the hardest scenario they can and once they hit a wall, they should focus on doing raids to get better runes. The most popular raid dungeon is Nhumar for early/mid-game. Pick a raid dungeon and evolve your team to be able to advance that dungeon as far as possible. If you choose Nhumar, You will want to focus on evolving your blue units since Nhumar is red. Melvin is a great unit to focus on for his % based attack, def debuff, survivability, crit/spd buff. For arena, you should have a plan in mind when you build your team. Also, be mindful of evade mechanics. You can evade auto abilities but you can not evade an active ability. The cap is 75% and is extremely useful paired with someone that can blind opponents to reduce accuracy. The best advice for PVP is crowd control. Unless you face someone with warrior and 75% evade, crowd control is king for PVP. Freeze, Stun, etc.
PlayDapp: Who are your top recommended heroes in each variant of Arena mode?
Jimmy13: For minor, Ereth, Akurel, Floria, Phantom Knight are great units and if you plan to be more melee, try to squeeze someone that can buff attack. Same for magic. For major, there are a lot of good units but the most common are Patricia, Lucius, Oliver, or any of the gods.
PlayDapp: How do you come up with your team composition ideas? What are you looking for when you build an arena team?
Jimmy13: for PVP, there are 2 main things to look for. Color and unit type. 1. Remember the counters, Blue>Red>Green. Dark>Light. Here’s an example. If you face a team predominately red, you want to use your blue units. Also, remember the 4 different units Melee/Tank/Support/Archers/Caster. Tanks have a high physical defense but low magic resist. If you face a couple of tanks, use casters. Casters have low physical defense and high magic resist, archers are their best counters and melee is second. These aren't the only things to look for since CC(crowd control) is the king of PVP. If you can't do anything, none of this matters.
PlayDapp: Are there any interesting trends or ideas you’ve come across in Arena recently? Where do you think the Arena meta is headed?
Jimmy13: Gods rule major and Ereth rules minor. That's the trend that I see. If you are fortunate to get a god, build around him to maximize their efficiency. Same with Ereth. Casters currently are the meta but that's mainly because the strongest players are choosing those. Remember archers, on paper, are their counter due to their higher magic resist and casters extremely low physical defense.
PlayDapp: Any other general advice or tips you want to give to players who want to improve in Arena mode?
Jimmy13: Focus on progression and don't forget about the awesome 3-star units. The reason 3-star units are so awesome is that they are A LOT easier to fully awaken. It's hard to beat a full awakened Melvin 1v1, no matter who you are. Melvin might not be the best PVP unit but since he is so great with everything else, you should include him in your minor team since he should be one of your stronger units. Floria is amazing with her buffs and heals. You can build Ereth full DPS and still be able to survive. If you focus on just your natural 5-star units, you will be weak in the Minor Arena. Focus on units that are helpful for all aspects of the game.
Now get out there and apply what you’ve learned and see just how high on the ladder you can climb! Let us know your thoughts and if you have any tips and knowledge you’d like to share for the Arena in the comments below!
Hero Spotlight: Floria
“Let’s plant this seed together. This is a seed that will change the world!”
Floria is the path finder for the Star Group. The elves of Turilleon treasure her warm-hearted personality and her adorable smile. Nobody is able to stay angry in front of her.
Floria is a natural 3-star Support-type hero of the Earth attribute. Don’t let her innocent appearance or 3-star grade fool you though because Floria is a force to be reckoned with. What’s more is that she’s very easy to obtain which makes her great for new and free-to-play players and she can be easily Awakened. Her Light Shards appear in Heroic Dungeons and as purchasable items from the Raid Shop with Ancient Coins. If you see her Heroic Dungeon pop up make sure to complete them and pick up her Light Shards. Gathering 20 will allow you to summon her!
She’s also a combination material hero for Evan in the Temple of Heroes.
Floria is an amazing hero for Scenario, Infinite Tower and Minor Arena modes with her abilities. She provides support to the rest of the team through healing, physical defence buffs, CC (Crowd Control) resistance, as well as disrupting the enemy with her auto ability which transforms them into squirrels for 5 seconds, rendering them incapable of taking any action. If you’ve ever been on the receiving end of this debuff you know just how dangerous and, frankly, obnoxious this can be.
Floria’s impact in Minor Arena is further enhanced by the restrictions of the format, only natural 4-star heroes or below can be used. Her auto ability to turn your opponents into squirrels will severely hamper them and could provide the window of opportunity for you to land heavy attacks on the enemy, with a character like Terenth for example, without resistance.
Players may find increasing her HP to be useful as Floria is a Support-type and she doesn’t have as much raw stamina as higher level heroes and she’ll be a crucial link in your team. This will increase her longevity and give her more sustain through battles. Alternatively, or in conjunction, you can pump up her Evasion stat for her to avoid damage and survive longer.
Her attack speed is important to consider as this will increase the number of times she can perform her abilities, which is especially important for a Support hero in this game. Increasing her Magic Power is nice to improve her healing capabilities as her healing power is based off of her Magic Power stat.
For PvP focused builds, Warrior runes, which boost inability effect resistance, need to be considered as avoiding CC effects on your Support is crucial in Arena. Floria being inactive will have a negative domino effect on the rest of your team.
You can achieve these effects through set bonuses and/or sub-stats on each individual rune.
Here are some examples of set-ups that combine these building principles for Floria:
An example rune set-up on Floria could be the following: 2 Warrior with 2 Evasion runes, giving her set bonuses of +50% Inability Effect Resistance and+20% Evasion respectively. The most desirable sub-stats would be HP, Attack Speed, Magic Power and Evasion. This set-up should make her a potent force in Arena battles.
A more generalized set-up that players can use involves 2 Life Runes and 2 Torrent Runes, giving set bonuses of +20% HP and +10% Acquired Energy respectively. Desirable sub-stats here would be HP, Magic Power and Attack Speed. This set-up could be good good for players looking to use Floria more in PvE modes or beginner players who do not have access to high-quality Warrior runes yet.
Of course, different team set-ups and needs will call for different Rune set-ups so try and see which works for you but these general guidelines should help you build a strong Floria.
Overall, Floria is an amazing hero with long-term viability that all players should try to get, and use. Try her out for yourself!

10 Tips for New Along with the Gods Players
There’s a lot to take in when you first load up the game so here are some helpful tips for people to get their bearings and discover all the wonderful things about Along with the Gods: Knights of the Dawn!
1. Don’t just charge into battle!
Along with the Gods rewards good team choice and composition and punishes sloppy choices. This is especially the case in Hell mode Scenario, Infinite Tower, Raid and Arena battles. Pay attention to things like attribute match-up, ability effects, and team role composition. If you’re facing a team with strong Fire attribute mages, for example, it doesn’t make sense to bring a team of Earth attribute heroes with low Magic Defence. If your opponent can inflict harmful status effects, you should take note of this and try to bring support-type characters with status healing abilities. Knowledge is power in this game. Fight smart, not just hard!
2. Don’t judge a book by its cover!
Even units you might not think are useful can be. There are 2 star units that you’ll actually want to get and level up and evolve for combination materials for awesome heroes down the line, and there are several 3 star units who will be useful for you throughout the game.
Some examples of 3-star heroes who are just as useful as higher-level heroes include Hellen, Floria and Terenth. They are worth keeping, evolving, and raising alongside your natural 4- and 5-star heroes. Some 3-star heroes are also very good in specific circumstances such as certain raids. Tallia is incredibly effective in the Havoc and Nhumer raids for example.
3. Explore every game mode!
Finishing Scenario mode on Normal difficulty is the priority for you to unlock other game modes and start your progression. After unlocking the other modes, playing each game mode is going to help you gather the resources you need to build your team and progress further in the game. Different game modes will give you unique rewards which is why it’s important to play them all. For example, the Raid mode will give you a supply of great runes and playing the Arena mode will supply you with Arena coins which you can exchange for scrolls and other valuable items in the Special Shop. Variety is the spice of life, and Along with the Gods.
4. Spending your riches!
New players may be wondering what exactly the best uses for gems and gold are in this game. The best use of gold in this game is for upgrading runes and it can get quite expensive to make sure you have suitable runes throughout your adventure, so keep piling up that gold. The Random Shop also has some items that are worthy of your gold, such as Normal scrolls and Premium scrolls. Beginner players may also find some runes in the random shop that may be of use to them early in the game.
Gems are a valuable resource and there are several functions within the game that make use of them, such as continuing a lost battle or getting more keys. New and/or F2P players may find saving and spending their gems for the Summon Pack II in the shop to be a useful kickstart giving you 11 premium hero summon scrolls and Eggies. Gems can also be used to expand storage space for runes, heroes and accessories which can be very helpful as you expand your roster of heroes.
5. Level up your leveling up!
While you can feed heroes to another hero to increase their EXP and level them up that way, there is a way to power level characters in this game. Simply place the character you wish to level up quickly in a team of max characters and all the EXP will all funnel to that one character for up to 5 times more EXP per battle! Combine this with the auto-battle function and turning off the boss animations in Settings to really speed up your grinding.
6. Become a social butterfly!
There a ton of benefits to adding friends in Along with the Gods. You can send Friend Points to, and receive them back from, your friends, which you can use for additional spins on the daily FP Roulette. Additionally, you can also select friends, and their representative hero, at the pre-battle menu to take along with you to Raid and Scenario mode battles. Your friends can help you out during those tough battles!
Heroic Dungeons are Raids that appear randomly where you can farm shards for a specific hero, gathering enough of these shards lets you Summon that hero! Any time one of your friends finds one of these Heroic Dungeons you will also be granted access to them!
7. Change your representative hero!
Some of you may really, really like Ian but a lot of you will want to change your representative hero. You can do this in the Heroes menu, selecting a hero and changing them to your rep hero in hero settings. Not only will this change your avatar to something more unique but people will be more likely to add you as a friend or accept your friend request, especially if you set it to a useful character who can help them out in those tough raid and scenario situations.
8. Runes run the game!
Runes are the secret sauce in Along with the Gods. Your rune setup can completely change how your hero performs, you can patch up weaknesses and enhance strengths with runes, and runes can be the difference between victory and defeat, so you should get familiar with them as soon as possible. Runes offer bonuses to your stats individually and as sets, and they can be upgraded with gold! Upgrades increase the bonus percentage as well as unlock more bonus types. For example, an individual Attack rune could offer ATK +3.7% and Magic DEF+3.0% at base level, while it offers ATK +12.1% and multiple new bonuses when upgraded to +12.
When equipped together, a set of four attack runes gives you the bonus of increasing your Attack Power for 10 seconds with a fixed chance when you attack with a basic attack. Equipping runes with helpful and relevant individual and set stat buffs and bonuses is important (an offensive mage like Harley isn’t going to benefit from having higher ATK but will love having higher Magic Power) and upgrading them is going to noticeably increase the power of your characters. You’ll receive many runes throughout your adventure, so you’ll constantly be upgrading and switching runes out as you progress. Raids are the best way to obtain high quality runes as well as crafting them in the Workroom.
9. Feel free to mix and match your runes!
While you do get Set bonuses for having four of a single rune type, you also get bonuses for having two of the same rune type so you can receive two different types of bonuses, which you can use to your advantage. Each different type of rune grants different bonuses. For example, a Melee DPS character such as Gangbi will typically suffer from being bombarded by attacks on the front line and not having the natural ability to take hits. Equipping two life runes (2 Set bonus of HP +20%) and two critical runes (2 set bonus of Critical rate +15%) gives him a balance of greater longevity while not compromising his ability to dish out damage and plays to his strengths while patching up his weaknesses.
Sometimes simplicity is the best philosophy though, and a tank character like Arthur may benefit most from equipping four life runes. Four life runes will grant him a shield when he’s attacked and help him do what he does best, sponge hits and drive forward.
Experiment and see which setups work for you.
10. Be consistent!
Even if you don’t have a lot of time to play on a particular day make sure to at least log-in every day. You get daily rewards for logging in and there are some awesome rewards for cumulative log-ins that you don’t want to miss out on.
We hope you enjoyed these tips and that they help new players out. Enjoy Along with the Gods: Knights of the Dawn!
