The amount of LP increase is determined only by your current EP.
However, if you defeated a much stronger opponent, the EP would have increased significantly, and the resulting increase in LP will be reflected in the next battle.

This game has high potential but complicated system like this brings people to quit even before to enjoy the game, even many old pro players speak about it in global chat, please totally reconsider arena system and add more for end game, also consider to totally remove and change that wrong ans useless system called ductility, every single game has a way to power up stuff and anything but this works better.

In that screenshot I beat an opponent who had 700 more LP, several hundred more EP, a rank above me and my EP remained RED, it is not doing what you explain here.
On another note let us assume that it worked the way you described. I would have to defeat a stronger opponent twice in a row to be able to receive LP only from the second one and the first one is only used to fix my EP? That sounds like a punishment rather than a reward. You can't expect anyone to enjoy that.

If you beat a stronger opponent to get a high EP, it continues to affect the next, then the next battle.
It can be understood that EP is the leading score and LP is the trailing score that follows it.

On the contrary, it is the same even if you are defeated by a much lower score than you.
EP will fall a lot in the battle concerned, but LP will not fall much, and it will be constantly reflected in the next and the next battle.
