Making the Best Animal Crossing Snowboy
With December comes the winter season not just in real life, but in Animal Crossing as well. And while a variety of new things have been added to the game, what’s caught my attention as of late are the adorable snowboys. This world’s version of snowmen, snowboys are both cool things to have set up around your town and also a means of unlocking a variety of awesome winter content. But you’ll have to create what the game describes as a “perfect” snowboy. Let’s take a look at the parameters you’ll need to meet, what you get out of it, and how to make this a painless process to get your grand rewards.
In order to build a snowboy, you’ll need to find 2 snowballs around town. Rolling them through the snow for enough time will give you the components needed to assemble said snowboy. The first one you’ll create, regardless of its quality, will give you a large snowflake and a DIY recipe, though it may complain a bit about its imperfections. But if you want to get a *perfect* snowboy, you’ll need to know how long to roll the snowboy and how big those snowballs need to be. In order to get them to juuuuuust the right side, you’ll need to start by placing the snowballs in a big, open space where you’ll have room to roll them properly. Keep an eye out for dung beetles, as they may appear to roll the balls for you, both helping you in your quest and allowing you to catch these critters. The first ball you’ll want to rock back and forth in the same palace until it’s incredibly hard to move. This will be where your snowboy will sit, so choose a good spot!
Now, the head is by far the trickier part. You’ll need to roll out this second snowball until the tallest part of the snowball reaches halfway up your villager’s ears. You’ll want to adjust the camera in order to get a better look at it, but be careful how you place your avatar when you do this, or you could bump the snowball and ruin the perfectly good creation. Once you have one at the right height, you’ll need to roll the ball up to your base ball in order to create the snowboy, so be aware of how far your head will be from the base. Once rolled together, the snowboy will form, and if you did it right, it will sparkle and congratulate you for your hard work. Each snowboy, when made perfectly, will give you a DIY recipe, and there are fifteen total to collect, so you’ll have to make sure to take the time to make these sentient snowpeople over the next few months. Those of us who have snowy season in-game now will have until February 24th to collect them all, so be sure to stay diligent or miss out on some cool stuff. Lastly, you’ll want to make sure you talk to your perfect snowboys each day, as they will provide you with a large snowflake each day you speak with them. These will be important for your crafting projects, as many require one or more to make.
Which is your favorite DIY recipe provided by your friendly neighborhood snowboys? Let me know in the comments!
