Can X-Men series reboot...?
Just watched Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse, and it was amazing
Everything that I had hoped from Spider-man animation was literally in this movie. Some good-ass music with perfect animations, the originality, and compelling characters with superb voice acting... If you haven't seen this movie yet, I suggest you get up your ass right now and watch in a cinema closest to you. The best animation work I've seen in 10 years, I dare say.
Dragon Ball Super: Broly is rocking the box office in Japan
Dragon Ball Super: Broly was released on December 14, and it's already at the top of the box office in Japan followed by Bohemian Rhapsody in the second and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald in the third. With unexpectedly good quality of the movie, it seems many fans are quite satisfied with what Toei Animation came up with. For all Dragon Ball fans on moot, prepare for the next month's release in North America!

Moot Film Club?
#MootFilmClub
I want to get some opinions here...
So, I listen to podcasts quite a lot and one of my favorites is Wisecrack’s “Show Me The Meaning!” — all about watching and discussing films together, and sometimes in pretty broad contexts. They often reach out to their community, suggest potential films, and then give polls over which films they should all watch and discuss.
Their latest episode? Django Unchained.
Check it out here if you’re interested: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/show-me-the-meaning-a-wisecrack-movie-podcast/id1319437966?mt=2&i=1000425347122
Alternatively, I recently read an article about The Truman Show: https://www.avclub.com/the-truman-show-was-a-delusion-that-came-true-1826535781
Point being, I’m curious if the Moot Community as a whole could be into this type of thing? We could have suggestions from the community for the films, vote in polls, then take a hiatus before discussing it all together as a group. We can use sites like JustWatch.com to point to where we can stream films, free or otherwise.
For example:
Fight Club - Streaming currently for free on Crackle, with ads.
It’s a Wonderful Life - Streaming currently included with Amazon Prime subscription.
So yeah… the idea is a work in progress. Just interested in the reception here; opinions, suggestions, etc.
Finally...

The official trailer of AVENGERS: ENDGAME has just been released!
Rumors about Spiderman: Far from Home
#mcu_excelsior
Jake Gyllenhaal said Mysterio is a company of Spiderman, not his enemy. This weird situation is built by Nick Fury. Also, elemental creatures are the actual villains of this movie.
Peter Parker takes a school trip to Europe, he is attacked by Hydroman at Venice canal, and here Mysterio appears to help Peter in the trailer.
Moreover, there is a relationship between Aunt May and Happy Hogan! (OMG!)
Scott Lang in 1983
#mcu_excelsior
A clue which shows Scott Lang travel back to 1983 is discovered! Because the text at the top-left corner in the following scene in the trailer of Avengers: Endgame looks like “STRAT_1983 ARCHIVE”.
Is this a fake again (like the scene with Hulk at Wakanda in Avengers: Infinity War trailer), or a real clue? We have no choice. We should wait for the next trailer.
Yay
The director of 'Get Out,' Jordan Peele comes with a new movie called 'Us'
The detail of the movie has yet to be revealed except for its main cast, Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke and Elizabeth Moss. Judging from the scissors from the poster, I'm guessing it's going to be another Horror/Thriller movie.
What piques my interest about this is that they have Lupita Nyong'o as one of the leading actors. Take it with a grain of salt, but she and Daniel Kaluuya, the protagonist from the same director's movie have appeared together in 'Black Panther' which could possibly hint us that 'Get Out' and 'Us' may be correlated somehow. Of course, it's not really a convincing theory and is most likely to be just a coincidence.
If you're a fan of Jordan Peele and his movie and are willing to check the movie out, the first trailer is going to be out on the Christmas day.

What Really Happened? — John Carter (of Mars)
Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Barsoom series is a granddaddy of science fiction. It’s fantastical, a bit insane, and somewhat dated perhaps, but it has influenced much of the sci-fi in our world.
So when a movie based on the first book, A Princess of Mars, was finally being made, we should’ve been excited. Disney was producing the film, titled initially as John Carter of Mars, but things went south somewhere along the way. Instead of keeping with the largely flawless Disney pedigree in marketing, they changed the title to simply “John Carter” and seemed to be on the long road to death by a thousand cuts. The originally planned trilogy began and ended with the first film’s release in 2012.
In today’s world, the Barsoom series probably fits better as a longer form television series, similar to how they’ve paced Game of Thrones. As a fan of the books and the film, this was a great podcast to listen to - explaining a significant portion of “what really happened.” If you like movies and how they are produced, this podcast may be particularly interesting to you. Even better for Barsoom fans... like me!
—————————————
“John Carter is one of history's biggest box office flops: $250 million... gone. But, it was directed by two-time Academy Award winner Andrew Stanton, had Disney’s marketing prowess, and was based on the book that inspired Star Wars and Avatar. What Really Happened? This episode is the anatomy of a blockbuster gone bust, a possibility even when the person in charge is brilliant.
Guests: Andrew Stanton (filmmaker), Michael Sellers (author, filmmaker, former CIA officer), Germain Lussier (film critic), Robert McKee (author, lecturer, story consultant), Matt Singer (film critic), and Brooks Barnes (New York Times Media and Entertainment reporter)”

ScreenRant: Metro 2033 Movie Scrapped After Failed Attempt To Americanise Story
MGM’s planned take on Metro 2033 was abandoned following a failed attempt to Americanize the story. Metro 2033 started life as a novel by author Dmitry Glukhovsky and follows the survivors of a nuclear attack on Russia living underground in the sprawling metro system. The protagonist Artyom embarks on an epic journey to uncover the mystery behind the Dark Ones and has to fight warring factions and mutated creatures along the way.
Metro 2033 went on to spawn two sequel books and an acclaimed video game series, with the third game Metro: Exodus set for release in early 2019. Both the books and games combine sci-and horror with a strong political subtext, and the concept is inherently cinematic. It announced back in 2012 that MGM would spearhead a big screen adaption, with F. Scott Frazier (xXx: Return Of Xander Cage) hired to write a script.
Little has been heard of this planned Metro 2033 movie in the years since it was announced, but in a new interview with VG247, Glukhovsky confirmed the project was scrapped and the rights have reverted back to him. While he says Metro: Exodus could potentially kickstart the stalled project, there’s currently no movement on it:
“The project with MGM optioning this book and developing a script had brought us to nothing and the rights reverted to me. So currently we are speaking with a new set of producers about a possible adaptation but this is a very long and difficult process. I’m still optimistic. We’ll see if the release of Metro Exodus can push the IP across a little bit the oceans and see how that works.”
The author also revealed MGM tried to transplant the action and political subtext from Moscow to Washington DC, but it just didn’t work:
“A lot of things didn’t work out in Washington DC. In Washington DC, Nazis don’t work, Communists don’t work at all, and the Dark Ones don’t work. Washington DC is a black city basically. That’s not at all the allusion I want to have, it’s a metaphor of general xenophobia but it’s not a comment on African Americans at all. So it didn’t work. They had to replace the Dark Ones with some kind of random beasts and as long as the beasts don’t look human, the entire story of xenophobia doesn’t work which was very important to me as a convinced internationalist. They turned it into a very generic thing.”
In a way, it's not a surprise MGM tried to Americanize Metro 2033, but considering the source material is fundamentally Russian, any such attempt was almost certainly doomed to failure. MGM was likely concerned a big budget blockbuster following Russian characters probably wouldn’t appeal to American audiences, but given the worldwide popularity of the Metro franchise, it was probably a risk worth taking.
Metro: Exodus will take players deeper into the wasteland than ever before, and is set after Metro: Last Light. In addition to new gameplay mechanics, the title will also tell an epic story that takes place over the course of a year. Like Glukhovsky states, perhaps renewed interest in the series following Exodus will help a Metro 2033 movie get moving again. If studios are still concerned about movie’s appeal to an American audience, maybe a streaming service like Netflix would be a better fit for the project.

My take:
As a huge fan of the Metro series, both the games and the books, this is probably for the better. Still, it’s always sad to see a story with such significant potential fail to make it through the gauntlet.
A new Disney•Pixar animation "Onward"
A new DisneyPixar animation, "Onward" is coming 2020. Dan Scanlon, the director of Monsters University is going to be the director of the film, and the plot seems to be based on fantasy stories where magical creatures appear but with modern civilization involved. Personally, I'm very much interested in the fact that they hired Starlord and Spider-man to play the main characters. I can already tell that this is going to be awesome.

2 Theories about Avengers: Endgame
#mcu_excelsior
1. No Shuri, No Vision
In Avengers: Infinity War, Shuri seemed to make a backup of Vision, and there was no scene which shows Shuri was disappeared like dust. This is why many people expect the re-appearance of Vision in Avengers: Endgame.
Unfortunately, however, it would not become true because of the scene which shows missing peoples (Scott Lang, Shuri, Peter Parker) in Avengers: Endgame trailer.
2. Hawkeye as Ronin
Hawkeye has dropped his bow. But the important thing is the reason. There are 2 theories about that.
First one is that his family died by Yakuza, not Thanos. This is the reason why he is in Japan in Avengers: Endgame trailer. Also, Steve Rogers says "We lost all of us. We lost friends, we lost family, we lost part of ourselves" at the scene which appears Ronin first.
The other theory is related to Civil War. Hawkeye did not agree with Sokovia Accords in Captain America: Civil War. Consequently he would be a criminal, and so he had to leave his own name: Hawkeye.
I think the second one is more reasonable and reliable. How do you guys think about this? Please let me know by comments. :)

We still have one or more chances to meet Stan Lee on new Marvel Movies
#mcu_excelsior
Stan Lee has passed away but he had left one or more chances to meet him on new Marvel movies for us.
Russo Brothers, the director of Avengers 4, said that they already shot several scenes for Stan Lee's cameo a few months ago.
We may also be able to meet Stan Lee's cameo on Captain Marvel, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and New Mutants because the shooting for those movies ended similar time with Avengers 4, or before than that. But there is only very low probability to meet Stan Lee on Spider-Man: Far from Home.
Anyway, Stan Lee has left lots of legacies but for his remarkable acting as a cameo, and everything we can do is just to hope that the rest in peace.
Thank you, Stan Lee, for everything you'd done for us.

thank you, Mr Lee
I didn’t realize that their was a section on moot for movies, but i am extremely glad that there is; without Marvel my childhood would’ve been bland and boring. I wasn’t exactly the cool kid in school, so I spent a significant amount of time at comic book stores. I don’t know what else to say to Stan, except for thank you.
