Anime Review: Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai

Ok don’t click off this post just yet it’s not what it looks like. Let me explain. I watched this series because YouTube kept spamming me with videos about it and I was like what the h*ck I’ll watch it. It really has nothing to do with bunny girls. Like at all. There are 2 whole scenes where someone is where a bunny costume. Anyways I watched it and I found it to be very very good. If you don’t know about the show it follows our protagonist, Sakuta Azusagawa, in a journey to help all the girls in his life and himself with a phenomenon know as adolescence/puberty syndrome. Now if you have watched a ton of anime or even a little you might know that this show sounds like it is setting up to be a harem sorta anime which if that is what you are looking for you won’t be disappointed but you won’t really be wowed if that makes sense. Also this anime has STRONG waifu material like you could make a best girl argument for (almost) all of the girls in this anime. Sorry I got off topic where was I ah yes the characters Sakuta is very quick witted and makes for fun banter with the main girl of the series Mai Sakurajima who is also quick witted and makes every exchange a delight. There are more characters like Rio Futaba, Koga Tomoe, And others each with their own case of adolescence syndrome. The way the syndrome works as well is it takes problems that you have and makes the more real/dire. One example of this is a character that is being cyber bullied spontaneously got cuts and bruises all over her. Also I need to talk about the music it is 10/10 it is catchy, it works with the theme, and it is just al around great. The animation is also smooth with an example being the background characters. They are vibrant and lively enough that you take note of them but they don’t stick out like a sore thumb. The ending is sad and j never thought I would ever like an anime like this but damn they know how to tell a story. But I guess I am kinda ranting now. I would recommend. Love y’all.
