Welcome to Fortuna!

One year after entering the Plains of Eidolon, a new snowy frontier has opened its lands for Tenno to explore. Fortuna has finally arrived for PC and brings with it many new additions, changes, and updates.

K-Drives:
Tenno now have a new way to quickly traverse the lands and do it in style. K-Drives, the hoverboard that we never knew we wanted makes its debut. This is probably my favorite addition to the game, mainly because it has unlimited uses. K-Drives aren't faster than Archwings, but can you do sweet tricks and jumps with the Archwing? Nope! I ended up spending too much time trying to figure out how to do tricks than proceed with the actual mission. I can't wait to see the kinds of crazy trick montages from other players a month from now. You can also customize your K-Drive to cater to your preferences. Customization plays a big role in Fortuna that will be mentioned more in a bit.
Kitguns:
Much like the Ostron melee weapons, Kitguns fill in the role of a craftable, modular, custom ranged secondary weapon. Nothing too deep to explore here, just choose your parts to fit your needs and build the gun of your dreams.

Moa Companions:
Expanding upon the companion system, Moas are the new Tenno sidekicks. Moas are fully customizable with their own unique perks. I already know I will end up shooting at my Moa thinking it's an enemy and wondering why it's not dying.
Hunting:
I'm getting Metal Gear V vibes from this as we now have the chance to capture all the wildlife roaming Vallis. The premise is the Corpus are posing a threat to the animals and it's up to us to rescue them before they become extinct. I hear there are some rather rare ones out there that can fetch a sizable reward.
Mining and Fishing:
These two activities make their return in new form with slight adjustments to mining. For mining instead of drawing a pattern you will need to heat up the node. There are also "sweet spots" you can aim for to net more or better ore and minerals. The fish here are not like the fish you have come to know. These are robotic fish, how that works I don't know and I don't question it. That being said, you will need a new specialized fishing spear to catch these robo-fish or else you risk damaging them if you use your Eidolon spears.

New Corpus Enemies, Base Capture, and Bounties:
Corpus have some new toys of their own and Nef Anyo isn't afraid to use them to oppress the Solaris. Sprawled across Vallis are new facilities that harbor new Corpus enemies. Tenno can also capture Corpus bases to open up bounties. Now the exploration in Vallis can feel seemless without the need to return back to Fortuna every time a bounty is completed. The new Corpus tech is certainly fitting for their tech, I was a bit surprised when I encountered some of the new enemies.
Underground Caves:
Another beautiful world exists under the surface of Venus with underground caves. Caves are a great opportunity to do some mining or take your K-Drive through the race tracks. The caves definitely make for some great captura scenes, I'm looking forward to seeing what others can produce.

Raknoids and Orbs:
Remember Sentients from Eidolon? Vallis' counterpart are the Raknoids. They are just as big and formidable so don't let your guard down. You'll know it when you see one, and I wish thee luck for those that are afraid of spiders.

Garuda:
The newest warframe to join the battle is the gore queen Garuda. By far one of the most gruesome frames to grace the Tenno.
Her abilities are as follows:
Dread Mirror - Rip the life force from an enemy and use it as a shield that captures damage. Charge to channel the captured damage into an explosive projectile.
Blood Altar - Impale an enemy on an altar of talons and siphon health for Garuda and her allies.
Bloodletting - Garuda sacrifices her health to generate energy.
Seeking Talons - Charge to expand the targeting area, release to send Garuda’s talons careening toward each target in area. Surviving enemies are prone to bleeding.

Blood and gore blood and gore. Be sure to bring a handkerchief to wipe the blood off your face.

New Weapons:
It wouldn't be an huge update without some new weapons. Below is the list of weapons waiting to be added to your arsenal.

Nagantaka (Primary) - Slash targets with a single precise bolt from Garuda’s signature crossbow. Alt-fire to let loose a barrage of bolts. All bolts have a chance to cause bleeding and headshots have a chance to increase reload speed.

Kreska (Melee) - This unsophisticated Corpus survival tool does what it was designed for: hacking and splitting whatever it strikes.

Ocucor (Secondary) - A weapon that reaches for its next victim even as it kills. With each takedown, this pistol spawns an energy tendril that reaches for a nearby target.

Battacor (Primary) - A weapon that builds charge the more it kills. Hit capacity then release for an obliterating discharge of power.

I still need to get my hands on these and I hope they end up being a top tier choice.

Operator Armor:
More operator cosmetics are here and it looks amazing.
I'm in love with the left most dead space-esque skin (Smelter) and I'm already saving some of my platinum to get it.

That's most of the important news pieces covered, so get yourself out there Tenno. Never played Warframe? You're missing out then, download it now! Ninjas play free.

Devstream 118

In case you missed it, the latest Warframe devstream gave us more footage of new content and changes coming with Fortuna. A specific release date wasn't on the list, but they did help narrow down the expected release date. We should expect Fortuna to release sometime within the first week of November. So by my guess, the latest date is November 9th and I'm hoping things are wrapping up fine at their offices.

The stream also focused on the next frame codenamed Garuda. They showcased her abilities and man is she the most gruesome warframe of the bunch, blood and carnage everywhere.
HP management will play a large role on how well she plays, but I'm expecting some sort of 1-2 combo with her low HP passive and another frame's ability to make her the next DPS monster. What that is, I can't think of any at the moment. Interested to try her out nonetheless.

A little more detail was given about the pet moas in Fortuna. Each moa will be made of 4 component parts and each can be customized with their own set personality trait. Three were shown: aggression, inquisitive, and sensitive. I think it might be safe to say more personality types will come our way at a later date.

What excites me the most is the outlined Nyx changes which include a revamped passive and alterations to her existing skills.
Mind Control will make the target invulnerable for 4 seconds and any damage that is absorbed during that time will result in more damage output of the controlled target.
Psychic Bolts: This is changing and will no longer just damage enemies. The new change will add a armor and shields debuff on targets and a slow for infested units.
Absorb: New formula rework for the damage. I hope this just means bigger explosion!
Passive: Enemies have a accuracy debuff when targetting Nyx.

Other news about the devstream are outlined here:
I can't wait! Only 3 more weeks till we get that Fortuna!
