9.14B Patch Notes (Live Today!)
The first balance patch since the release of ranked is here! This patch mainly aims to nerf the Assassins and Volibears that have been dominating the meta while also buffing some of the lesser used classes such as Wilds. Let's take a look.
For all the details be sure to check out the official patch notes here:
Current BEST Comps (Patch 9.14) - #6 Elemental Demons
This comp is relatively easier to build compared to more popular comps.
You only need 6 units to make it work.
-You have a lot of early Elise and Varus.
-Early game: Get at least 2 demons on the board with some tanky units frontline.
-Mid game: Try to stabilize the board early at level 6 before going to 7. The core of your comp comes online at 5 units.
-Varus can carry the early game with mana or a Guinsoo's Rageblade.
-This compe will work with 5 units and 6 units make it optimal with 4 demons
-To make 7 work, make a Yuumi and turn Brand or Varus into a sorcerer.
IV. CARRY ITEMS:
-Shyvana: Warmog's Armor, Rapid Firecannon, Hextech Gunblade
-Varus: Seraph/s Embrace, Guinsoo's Rageblade, Rabadon's Deathcap
all about them EGGS
Little Legend Eggs is a section in the Hextech Crafting item, and are available to get through Missions or the Riot Store.
Opening a Little Legend Egg will give the player a Little Legend skin. Each egg has a different drop rate and has their own drop pool.
The current three eggs share the same drop rate:
Legendary (5% drop rate, 30% chance for double drop).
Epic (20% drop rate).
Rare (75% drop rate).
Series Egg Rules:
-Duplicates Star Up: Getting a duplicate variant will cause it to star up by one level. Once a variant reaches 3 stars, it won’t hatch from future eggs.
-New Content with Each Egg: Each egg you hatch will grant you a variant you don’t already own, or a star up for a variant you already own.
-Double Drops: Occasionally, when you receive a Legendary Little Legend, two Little Legends will hatch from a single egg.
-Rare Egg: If you open a "Series" eggs after you own all variants it contains at 3 stars, it will output a "Little Legend" permanent that can be forged into a "Rare Egg".

MINI GUIDE: Imperial Comp
FINAL TEAM: Darius, Barum, Katarina, Sejuani, Leona, Draven, Swain
***Start with Darius, some Knights and any 2 start unit
***Once you find Draven, put him on board right away and stack items on him
***Do not place other Imperials unless you have all 4.
*** Then look for Sejuani > Braum > Leona last.
***Rapid Firecannon is very useful with this comp
the BEST Demon Team Comp (PATCH 9.14)
In this comp, you will basically start stacking Demons together and you'll get a huge chance to burn away your enemy mana. Once this happens, you know it's gonna take a good while before they can pick up themselves again rebuild their mana to a point where they can use their abilities again. So in the meaning, you'll have your opponent weak and vulnerable right in your face. Combine your Demons with Shapeshifters for that solid HP after they transform to make strong tanks.
6 Demons: 85% chance on hit to deplete target's mana and deal equal amount of true damage
3 Shapeshifter: On transform, gain 60% max HP
2 Imperial: One random Imperial deals double damage
There's nothing unusual when it comes to positioning your Demon/Shapeshifter team. Place your melee fighters up front and you wanna protect your damage dealers in the back. Place Gnar and Swain together to make exellent tanks with extra 60% bonus HP.
Start looking for items for Gnar. He's already a strong tank and throw in some defensive items on him and he'll be nearly indestructible. (Titanic Hydra / Dragon's Claw / Phantom Dancer)
Look for items for Draven. (Infinity Edge, Guinsoo's Rageblade, Rapid Firecannon)
Look for early Elise, Nidalee, and Varus. Get Nidalee to 2 star as she'll become very useful in mid game. Also place damage items on Nidalee while you wait for Draven.
Look for Shyvana for Shapeshifter buff.
Elise and Varus should be upgraded by now.
Find Aatrox and Morgana for Demon buff.
Look for Gnar and eventually replace Shyvana, Draven and Brand
You should have Gnar by this point and in the middle of upgrading to 2 star. ( don't bother for 3 star). Find Swain and complete Demon synergy. Find couple of Spatulas for more slots or you'll just have to level up all the way.
an Effective Comp after 9.14 - Glacial Brawlers
In early game, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding a Warwick and Nidalee for an early Wild buff and then we'll eventually transition into Glacial Brawlers.
It is absolutely crucial that you get all 4 Brawlers on the board as early as possible. Early Wild buff will carry you through early game for awhile.
When you are nearing level 7, you might wanna start transitioning with Volibear, Brand, Lissandra, Kenne, and Cho'Gath. You'll be adding Glacial and Elementalist buffs.
Your final comp should include:
Anivia, Ashe, Blitzcrank, Brand, Cho'Gath, Lissandar, Rek'Sai, Volibear.
4 Brawlers: +700 bonus HP to Brawlers
3 Elementalists: At the start, summon an Elemental with 2,500 HP and 100 damage
4 Glacials: Glacials have a 35% chance to stun on hit for 2 seconds
1 Robot: Robots start with full mana.
Rapid Fire Cannon: Recurve Bow + Recurve Bow
Guinsoo's Rageblade: Needlessly Large Rod + Recruve Bow
Warmog's Armor: Giant's Belt + Giant's Belt
Easy Guide to Carousel
** Go for 2 gold units unless you see a Recurve Bow on a 1 gold unit or 2 gold units all have worst items (Chain Vests and Negatron Cloak)
**Recruve Bow>Spatual>Tear of the Goddess>Needlessly Large Rod>BF Sword>Giant's Belt>Negatron Cloak>Chain Vest
At this stage, you're probably still looking for the right items and none of the units in round 2 Carousel are valuable. Just go for the item you need to combine with.
Some of the key 4 Gold units like Brand, Draven, Aurelion Sol are now in the Carousel.
On rare occasions, you'll see a legendary unit, or even a completed item equipped on a champion.
Ask yourself the following questions before going in to Carousel Round 3:
**Is there high value COMPLETED ITEM? Do I have a chance to grab it?
**Am I building a Brand comp?
**Do I still need a Recurve Bow?
**Should I pick any 5 gold unit since there's no good options?
**What are bad items that I absolutely don't need?
If you don't see what you want or need, go ahead and select what your opponents need.
Most Popular TEAM COMPS right now
It looks like everyone's trying to pair Ninjas with Assassins or Elementlists in the game right now. -Run an early WILD buff build with Warwick and Nidalee or 3 Noble while collecting Lissandra, Pyke, Zed, Shen, Make the Lockets and Zeke's Herald. Find Kennen and Brand (possibly from carousel) and get early Elementalist buff
2. Volibear Brawler/Glacial
Brawlers are one the most powerful classes at the moment after 9.14 patch. Equip Volibear with Rapid Firecannon and he'll be unstoppable.
Gunslingers got pretty good buff in 9.14 patch. Throw in as many on-hit items on your champions to debuff your enemy team aggressively.
TFT Patch 9.14b PBE Changes
Following this earlier announcement on July 19, the first changes of TFT patch 9.14b are now available to try out on the PBE server.
NEW TIERS OF TRAITS IN PATCH 9.14B
Currently, on the PBE, tiers for 6 Shapeshifters, 6 Brawlers, and 9 Blademasters have been added.
-Brawlers(6) will gain a total of 1200 bonus health on each brawler.
-Gunslingers(6) will have a 50% chance to hit three additional targets. One additional target each attack, compared to Gunslingers(4)’s effect.
-Shapeshifters(6) will gain 100% bonus starting health .
-Blademasters(9) gains a 45% chance to hit a target an additional 4 times .
BUFFS COMING TO TFT IN PATCH 9.14B
Knights have been one of the weakest traits in TFT but the current PBE version sees an increase in damage blocked to help this trait scale better into the late game. Knights(4) gains 20 compared to the live game, whereas Knights(6) gains an additional 30 damage blocked.
Yordles are still a bit too weak, despite gaining some popularity. They gain an additional 5% chance to dodge attacks at the (3) set effect.
Mordekaiser receives a major buff, his ability gaining an additional 50/75/100 damage at ranks 1/2/3. This will bring Mordekaiser more on par with other champions and make him quite a decent unit to use early in the game.
NERFS TO ASSASSINS AND CARRY-VOLIBEARS
While the current PBE patch has the wrong numbers, as mentioned by Riot Maple, here is what we can expect to see changed about Assassins in 9.14b.
Assassin’s crit damage bonus’ effect will be reduced from 150% to 125% at Assassins(3), while (6) gains increased crit bonus damage, from 350% to 400%. However, this is not a buff. The way critical hit damage is currently calculated (additively, rather than multiplicatively) will be changed with this patch, resulting in an overall decrease in damage by about 26%. This is according to TFT developer Riot Mort.
More changes for Ninjas are coming, but right now, at one Ninja, the increase in damage will be up from 40% to 70%, while Ninja(4) sees a small reduction, from 80% to 70% for all Ninjas.
In patch 9.14b, Volibear’s lightning will bounce to fewer targets. Volibear will have one less bounce across the board, going from 3/4/5 bounces to 2/3/4. This won’t completely remove this strategy from the game. However, it will make certain items such as Cursed Blade less oppressive on him.
-Assassins’ crit bonus damage is now 125% (3) / 400% (6) with new damage formula. Overall ~26% damage reduction.
-The bonus attack speed of the Wild trait is further increased from 8% to 10%. This is the second buff in a row to the Wild trait, following the increase from 7% to 8% in patch 9.14.
-Nobles now gain 80 armor, 80 magic resist, and 35 health on-hit to 1 random champion or all allies at (3) and (6) Nobles respectively. This is rather than 100 armor and 35 health on-hit.
-Dragons were a little too powerful. The Dragons trait now reduces magic damage by 83%, the same amount as Dragon’s Claw, rather than a flat immunity.
-Shapeshifters recently received the (6) tier of Shapeshifters; while it isn’t possible to use yet, it has now been buffed from 100% bonus health on transformation to 120%.
-The Void trait needed some love. Rather than ignoring 50% of the opponent’s armor (for all allies), Voids will now deal true damage to enemies.
-Sorcerers (3) now increases the spell damage of all allies by 45% rather than 35% with three sorcerers.
How to POSITION your ASSASSINS
Assassins move around like no other units do. In the beginning, they enter this short stealth mode for awhile and jump towards the furthest enemy unit on the board. This unique ability is very crucial to the outcome of each round and to get the most out of this ability, you really need to know how to place your Assassins right.
If you place your Katarina and Evelynn in the first row (which you shouldn't) they can be within enemy's melee range when the round begins. Also if Assassins are within 1 unit range from an enemy, they will NOT STEALTH or JUMP. They just start attacking and act like a tank.
Luckily Zed was placed in the second row and that makes it impossible for him to be within 1 unit away from the enemey.
SO WHAT ARE THE BEST POSITIONS FOR YOUR ASSASSINS?
1) In EARLY Game: In the early stages, you cannot predict which one of your opponents you'll be face and you cannot plan against a specific enemy champion.
You can only employ general solution good for most situations: Just place your Assassin in the third or second row. They can either be group with the rest of your units or stand alone on the other side. They will jump away from your team anyway so don't expect them to protect your ranged units.
2) In LATE Game: At this stage, you really need to SCOUT your opponents. Surprisingly many users don't understand the importance of scouting in late game. You need to obtain info on your enemy's A. TEAM BUILD, B. ITEMS, and C. DANGEROUS UNITS YOU NEED TO TARGET. Identify the threat and position your Assassins accordingly.
***TIP: In LATE game, your opponents will often place their units together in a tight group so it's more difficult for your Assassin to jump over and only target the dangerous unit.
If this is the case, move all your front line units to the 3rd row. Then place your Assassins on the 2nd row. The round begins, Assassins enter stealth mode and it'll pull the enemy team off the board's edge and your Assassins will have some room to dive to main targets and sort them out.
Lastly, Never place your ASSASSINS on the first row. They won't STEALTH or JUMP.

UNDERLORDS OR TFT?
Do you prefer playing Underlords or TFT? I lean more towards TFT, but I do like the occasional Underlords game. I am curious about other people’s opinions.
7/23 PBE Changes
A bunch of changes are hitting the PBE and could be making their way to live soon. Here are some of the more notable changes:
1. Assassins: 125%/400% bonus crit dmg
2. Sorcerer: Tier 1 buffed to 45% bonus spell dmg
3. Void: Void champs deal true dmg
4. Brawlers: 3 tiers, 2/4/6, providing 300/700/1200 bonus hp
5. Noble: +80 armor, +80 mr, +35 hp on-hit t
6. Ninja: +70% attack dmg on both tiers
7. Wild: 10% attack speed per stack
8. Dragons: 83% magic dmg reduction

What is the best comp?
What is everyones favourite comp to play? Mine is Glacial Elementalist, it always stomp down other players comp.
Feel free to comment your favourite comp! I want to test some new strats out!
Current BEST Comps (Patch 9.14) - #5 Wild and Draven
With this dynamic composition you will shift from mainly Shapeshifter focus in early game to Wild buffed Draven in late game.
-You just started building a Shapeshifter comp.
-Then you get a lot of attack speed items that wouldn't fit your current comp.
-Early game: Complete your Shapeshifter combo, place a Warmog on Shyvana
-Mid game: Your main priority is getting Draven and Gnar. Keep using Wild units and other 2 stars until you complete your transition.
-You really don't wanna force this comp. It's just not as strong as Demon Shapeshifter.
-Only execute if the game gives you an early Draven with lots of good items.
IV. CARRY ITEMS:
-Draven: Guinsoo's Rageblade, Rapid Firecannon, Bloodthirster
-Shyvana: Guardian Angel, Warmog's Armor, Hextech Gunblade
TFT Best pick in Draft
1. Aurelion Sol
What do you think Riot needs to bring to TFT first?
Teamfight Tactics comp for Beginners
Your team would be like this: Leona, Vayne, Kayle, Garen, Lucian, Sejuani, and Darius.
4 Knights – Knights block 40 damage from basic attacks.
3 Nobles - +100 Armor and heal for 35HP on hit for a random ally.
Cursed Blade, Sword Breaker, Stattik Shive, Rapid Firecannon, Guinsoo’s Rageblade
Help me please..
So I’m really bad at the game, and I’m wondering if there are any little things that are easy to do wrong but are also easy to fix which can improve how I do. Any help or tips would be great! 😂
Phantom Comp that Works
First of all, Phantoms are a very small Origin, so you'll have to build your team with other Origins and Classes to make it work. The best way to build a working team with Phantoms at the moment is to utilize Glacial Rangers. Start buying Mordekaiser, Vayne, and Garen early on. Then bring in Ashe, Sejuani and Volibear in mid game.
NO: You don't wanna itemize Mordekaiser or Kindred
MAYBE: Ironically, you don't really have to have Cho'Cath and Kindred to make this comp work.
YES: Focus on Ashe and Vayne as your key champions.
Equip Ashe with 2 Spear of Shojin and Rapid Firecannon
Equip Vayne with 2 Guinsoo's Rageblade, Rapid Firecannon
Equip Varus with Guinsoo's Rageblade, Rabadon's Deathcap, Seraph's Embrace
Three Beginners comp
Noble / Wild
In early game: you’ll want to have a frontline to protect your force and bolster up your army. Garen is ideal in the situation. He has a good balance and tankiness, and combined with another early game tank, you should come out of the gates swinging.
It’s not the most engaging comp and it doesn’t require much thinking, but when everything’s upgraded, it’s extremely fun. If you can get the whole team together – Garen, Fiora, Vayne, Lucian, Leona, Kayle, you’ll be an unstoppable force. What’s not to like?
Assassin / Ninja
A team of assassins doesn’t make sense in League, but it works in TFT. You’d usually want to play behind a solid tank line, but if you stack Assassins, your brute force damage can be enough to flatten your opponents.
The Glacial synergy is one of the strongest buff in the game. Even though it just got nurfed, it still packs a punch. If you have six Glacial champions, you’ll have a 40 percent chance to stun your targets for two seconds on hit.
Critical Damage Formulas
Basic attacks have a chance to critically strike to deal 50% bonus damage, determined by critical strike chance.
Every champion starts with 25% critical strike chance.
The bonus damage is further increased by Critical Strike Damage.
Teamfight Tactics Tips(Useful)! #2
Once you decide one’s synergy, you need to look around. You can click the map or by pressing 1 or 2 number to look other player’s champs and composition. This is very important. Because by watching enemy’s champions, you can estimate what enemy is going to make synergy or buff, and can decide what synergy and buff going to make. Because in the game, the champions are limited. so, for example, if the enemy has Mordekaiser, then you can estimate and decide not to go with the phantom or Knight.
Teamfight Tactics Beginner’s Guide How to get better & Improve! 2/2
Items are probably the most important part of Teamfight Tactics. These can super buff some of your minions, and an early strategy that some players are employing is to get a three star unit and stack powerful items onto it. One of the more unique factors of this game is that items can be combined together to create a whole new and powerful item. You can grab one of your items and hover it over a unit that already has an item to show what will happen if you were to combine the two items. We've got a Teamfight Tactics Item Combinations Cheat Sheet that will be very helpful for you early on.
The other interesting mechanic in this game is that once you put an item on a unit, you can't get it off of them unless you sell that unit. This leads to some interesting strategies, where you'll place an item on a unit that you don't necessarily plan to keep. That way you can sell the unit later in the game to get the item for a stronger unit.
Items are gained two mains ways. They will drop occasionally after you kill a creep wave, or you can find them during the carousel round. This is when all of the players in the game are thrown into a room and are given a choice of hero. The heroes are walking around in a circle (hence the name carousel), and players are able to choose one based on what place they are currently in the game (in order by lowest to highest health). More often than not, you are looking at the item rather than the hero, because this is how you'll end up finding item to combine with others to make the more powerful versions.
Make Sure to Collect Interest
For every 10 gold you have (up until 50), you will gain 10% (rounded down) extra gold at the end of a round (interest). This is pretty important and will influence a lot of your purchasing decisions when playing the game. Try to stay above the highest multiple of 10 you have, and spend down to near 50 if you have above 50 because you won't get additional interest for anything about it.
Upgrade Your Units
Upgrading your units is another very important aspect of the game. All units start at 1-star, and they can be upgraded to a max level of 3-stars. To upgrade a unit, you'll need to own three units of the same star level. So, three 1-star units of the same kind will make a 2-star unit, and three 2-star units will make a 3-star unit. Upgrading your units will basically double and triple the amount of damage it can do, along with adding to their mana and HP.
Losing & Winning Streaks
If you win a few rounds in a row you will start a win streak. This gives you extra gold per round as long as you maintain it. On the other hand, if you lose a few rounds in a row, you will gain gold for a losing streak. While this is not ideal, you'll still start to gain gold and this can be used as a strategy at times. The key to this is to not lose too heavily. The more units you leave on your opponent's board, the more health you will lose! So, if you're going to go on a losing streak for gold, you'll want to at least put up a fight.
Early Basic Strategy & Positioning
Basic strategy is kind of like a typical MMO like World of Warcraft. You want to have tanks that will absorb damage, and then your back-line will be more of your damaging units. So, look for kind of a mix of tank-y heroes like Knights and Brawlers, and then fill in your team with more damaging type units.
When it comes to positioning, you will utilize this unit build by placing your tankier high health minions in front, and your weaker damage and healer minions behind those. As a future strategy, if you are fighting against Assassins, you might want to place a tank character in your back-line as well. Assassins will leap towards the furthest most minion. So, you won't always want to leave your weak units in the back!
MINI GUIDE: Ranger Knight Comp
FINAL TEAM: Darius, Garen, Mordekaiser, Vayne, Varus, Ashe, Kindred, Sejuani
***Start with 2 Knight units: Mordekaiser & Garen
***Add Vayne and Varus (2 Ranger bonus)
***Depending on your opponents decide your priority (damage/survivability/CC)
---Darius/Sejuani(4 Knight bonus)
---Ashe/Sejuani(2 Glacial bonus)
***(Optional) Later, swap Darius with Kayle. (stronger unit, 4 Knight bonus, 3 Noble bonus)
