Teamfight Tactics Beginner’s Guide How to get better & Improve! 1/2
Here’s some tips that you should know when you get started with Teamfight Tactics!
Synergies Are Key to the Game
One of the big keys in general to understanding these Auto Chess games are combining synergies. Each unit has a two or three classes and origin, when you want to stack certain amount of these together, you need to know what classes and origin there.
Assassins Leap to the farthest enemy at the start of combat and deal additional Critical Strike Damage.
3 Assassins: +150% critical strike damage.
6 Assassins: +350% critical strike damage.
After attacking, Gunslingers have a 50% chance to fire additional attacks.
2 Gunslingers: Attack another random enemy.
4 Gunslingers: Attack all enemies in range.
On hit Demon’s have a chance to burn all of their target’s current mana, dealing true damage equal to mana burned.
2 Demons: 30% chance on hit on Mana Burn
4 Demons: 50% chance on hit on Mana Burn
6 Demons: 70% chance on hit on Mana Burn
Attacks generate stacks of Fury. Each stack of Fury grants 8 Attack Speed.
2 Wilds: Wild allies only
4 Wilds: all allies
Synergies that you have are shown on the left side of the screen
Early Win Streak Items
When you want to start a winning streak in the early game, you want to pick items that'll give a lot of power to a single champion. In the early game, you cannot rely on a complete unit synergy yet. Also aura items are not very useful as your team size isn't very large yet. However, if you can create one powerful and unstoppable champion, you will have no problem taking an advantage of early win streak.
B.F. Sword + Chain Vest = Guardian Angel.
This item revives the defeated champion wearing it with 500 health.
This gives your key champion more mileage, almost doubling their durability in the early game when most enemy champions are 1- and 2-stars.
Recurve Bow + Needlessly Large Rod = Ginsoo’s Rageblade.
Each attack grants 3 percent attack speed, stacking infinitely.
This blade is unstoppable early on when enemy champions are not ready to stop you with chain-stun, or banish. The Rageblade is particularly powerful on a number of tier 1 champions, including Kassadin.
Recurve Bow + Tear of the Goddess = Statikk Shiv.
Every third attack deals 100 spell damage in an area around the target.
This extra damage can carry you far in the early game and can still be useful later on as the board crowds up.
The Power of the Demon Dragon: A-tier(9.14)
Final Team Comp:
Aurelion Sol, Varus, Gnar, Morgana, Elise, Aatrox, Shyvana
Starts with Elise or Nidalee, Shyvana. So you have to get 3 Shapeshifter buff and demon buff by level 4
In the middle of the game, roll a bit to find 4 demons and 3 Shapeshifter synergy.
Put a Warmog on Shyvana, and she’s amazingly strong even as a 1 star for early game shapeshifters.
Bit about Aurelion Sol Comp
Aurelion Sol is one of the most powerful damage dealers in TFT. He has the ability to burst down multiple clumped enemy units at the same time. His ultimate range and width is ridiculously large and he can melt the entire enemy team down if you can get the right composition that works the best with him.
You will get the most out of this Champion in Wild / Sorcerer comp. However, Aurelion Sol works just fine in Sorcerer only compositions (No Wild). If you can equip Aurelion Sol with 2 proper items, he can be your only main DPS. Bascially, he'll be your main carry especially in Wild/Sorcerer Composition.
You wanna place Rapidfire Cannon, Spear of Shojin or Rabadon's Deathcap on Aurelion Sol.
Pirate of the Gunner: S-tier (patch 9.14)
Lucian, Tristana, Sejuani, Graves, Gangplank, Cho’Gath, Pyke
You need a lot of on-hit items for this comp. A good time to play Gunslingers would be when you get good items from the first camps, or if you find 3/4 early Tristanas.
In the early game.
Pick up all the gunslingers and pirates you find, it’s common to spend some gold at level 4 to reach a quick level 5 and play 4 Gunslingers 3 Pirates synergy.
In the mid-game.
At level 5, start rerolling to find your ideal 5 units composition to have 4 Gunslingers and Pirates. Stay above 50 gold as much as you can looking for a 3-star Tristana and Graves.

TFT Beta Pass End Schedule & Patch 9.16
Teamfight Tactics Beta Pass is finally coming to an end. Riot has announced that the TFT beta pass will end at different times for different regions since many of these regions did not have the same release timeline on live servers.
Riot Beernara announced that the last day to complete your challenges and collect your rewards is between July 23 and July 29.
The chart below shows the exact end dates and times for every region:
Riot also warned us that "Even if you were in a game or waiting for a game to complete when the pass turns off," you will not be able to turn in challenges or collect rewards.
Make sure you collect your rewards before deadline!
Additionally, next beta pass announced. Riot Beernana confirmed that the second beta pass will launch on live servers with patch 9.16 The next beta pass will be very similar to the one live right now.
Does anyone know if this game is coming to console? I saw some people play it on twitch and it looks good but I don’t own a pc and can’t afford one.
What's the BEST TEAM COMP?
I think first comp is the best if I can get it but it's impossible....
Here is the origin post:
5 Unique & Interesting Comps : No 1. Bullet Hell
While everyone else is looking at the same comp cheat sheet circulating around on the internet, why not have more fun and try these interesting and usual comps?
Here're 5 of the most interesting comps I've seen on Teamfight Tactics.
No 1: Bullet Hell
Even though they are not the strongest champions on TFT, if you know how to set them up just right, Gunslingers and Pirates can be devastatingly powerful.
With this comp, you want 4 Gunslingers for the bigger bonus (attacking all enemies in range) and Pirates to help your economy. Also Gunslingers will give free multi-attacks to everyone in the synergy, most importantly, GRAVES! You want him as high tier as possible. Also, equip him with a Phantom Dancer (attack speed/survivability), Titanic Hydra (Everyone of his Gunslinger multi-attacking shots splash damage!!) , then add an item that gives attack speed or health.
Lastly, do not forget to throw a tank in front, like Shen. He will help get you to that Blademaster synergy.
5 Unique & Interesting Comps : No 3. Kassawin
You could never go wrong with Kassadin in most situations. But if you can equip him just right with a few key items, he will become a huge headache for your opponents.
You can start out with Gunsoo's Rageblade. Then add i Runaan's Hurricane and finish up with a Rapid Firecannon to finalize. Swinging on 3 enemy units at once and draining their mana to fuel your shields will keep him and your team alive.
To empower Kassadin even more, you want to add a fellow void Kha'Zix who can distract and take care of back line units, and Cho'Gath is great pick for his area CC, tanking and complete the void Buff.
Lastly, go for the Sorcerers route and add some serious damage to your comp with units like Lulu, Aurelion Sol or Ahri.
Easy Beginner Compositions #1 GLACIAL
Even after its recent nerf, the Glacial synergy is still one the strongest buffs in Teamfight Tactics. When you finally have 6 Glacial champions, you get 40% chance to stun your targets for 2 seconds on hit. If you can combine that with a decent amount of damage, nobody will stop you. They won't even be able to fight back properly and you will take over the board easy.
However, the problem here is actually hitting all 6 Glacials. I guess you can still make it work with just 4 or even 2 glacials. Try to go for Volibear and Sejuani. They should be your key champions in this comp since they are both quite tanky with decent damage and frequent CC.
Sejuani's ult can be surprisingly and usually powerful. It has a very large range and can CC your entire opponent team. However, she costs 4 gold and upgrading her to level 3 takes time. If you can only get to leve 2, that's perfectly fine too.
If you can gather all 6 Glacials, you'll also get the Elementalist synergy but.. you still need to decide which route you wanna take. There're few options:
i) Go for a 3rd Elementalist (Brand) and utilize his AoE ult.
ii) Go for Kenene for his Ninja Passive.
One strength of Glacial synergy is that they are highly flexible and you can make it work with lots of other synergies harmoniously. If you are bored with Elementalist you can try out the Ranger synergy. Ashe is one of your main damage dealers. She has high fire rate and utilizes the Glacial passive stun and freeze ult. She delivers good damage and CC. So you wanna combine her with another Ranger to increase her attack speed.
Choose Varus (long range & damage) or Kindred (place him in the middle, their ult will act as a protective barrier)
Is Locket stacking OP?
It seems like even though they killed Sorcerer Lockets people are Locket stacking more than ever. The extra 900 on 5 of your champions makes it so that you can go full carry without having to figure out how to include a front line in your comp. Stuff like 6 assassins Locket stacked is insanely powerful because it eliminates assassins' biggest weakness. What do you guys think about Locket right now?
MINI GUIDE: Glacial Elementalist Comp
FINAL TEAM: Lissandra / Braum / Volibear / Kennen / Sejuani / Leona / Brand / Aurelion Sol
***This composition does not require tier 5 champions
***You still need several tier 4 champions to be effective
***Stack all your items on Aurelion Sol and Braum
5 Unique & Interesting Comps : No 2. The Tractor Pull
I know many players don't find this golden robot very interesting at first. However, if you don't mind showering him with great items, he just might become the most annoying unit that'll drive your opponent crazy.
First, you need to start by equipping your key unit, Blitzcrank with either a pair of Spear of Shojin, or just 1 Spear + Yuumi and turn him into a sorcerer. This will make sure he will use his ability as frequently as possible. In the last slot, you can use whatever item you get your hands on but if possible, add Guinsoo's Rageblade so you can add some damage and scaling.
For the rest of the comp, you need at least one Brawler like Warwick and one other target for items but you gotta make sure there's plenty of health around Blitz. If everything goes as planned, you will be pulling enemies in the the middle of chaos over and over.
Simple Gunner, Pirate Comp Guide
Pirates are more consistent than in the past, so I have finally included one of their builds among the best compositions.
Acquire three pirates to start stacking gold with their synergy.
Add Tristana for the two Gunslinger bonus. She is your main carry.
Replace Twisted Fate as soon as you find Gangplank. Lucian and Gangplank will maximize the Gunslinger trait.
Cho’Gath and Sejuani do not bring any synergy in particular, but you want them because they are solid late-game tanks, and your lineup needs them to survive.
Building the BEST COMP with Elise in ranked mode?!
Shapeshifter & Demon Comp with:
Elsie(1), Nidalee(1), Darius(1), Varus(2), Shyvana(3), Morgana(3), Gnar(4), Draven(4), Swain(5)
I know Elise used to be one of the worst tier champions in TFT. However since the release of Patfch 9.14, Elise has been transformed from one the weakest to one of the very best.
She is now one solid 1 gold champion that can create amazing synergies and she will get the ball rolling and take over the game as you progress. She can deal impressive amount of damage in early game with her spiderlings and she can be pretty difficult to handle.
She's also a demon and at the moment, mana burning seems to be getting stronger in Teamfight Tactics. She is not a one-vs-five kind of unit but she can provide a solid barrier for the rest of your team. In the early game, Elise will allow Nidalee deliver as much damage as possible.
Before 9.14 patch, you'd usually go for Sorcerer synergy, but now with solid Elise in your team, you can also go for Demon synergy. have at least 3 strong shapeshifters with Elise, Nidalee, Shyvana, and Gnar for maximum survivability with good damage. In the backline, you want Varus and Morgana burning your opponents mana and prevent them from ulting.
Finally, once you get Swain, you can stick to Shapeshifter/Demon and look for 2 more Demons. This comp is powerful and flexible and should be very hard to counter. Give it a try and have fun.
Demon Shapeshifter Comp Guide!
Final Team: Elise, Varus, Morgana, Aatrox, Brand, Gnar, Draven, Swain
6 Demons, 3 Shapeshifter 2 Imperial
Demons are finally a competitive synergy in Teamfight Tactics.
Start with Elise and Varus for the two Demon synergy. Add Nidalee and Shyvana to unlock the Shape The health bonus has been nurfed, but it is still very strong.
In the late game, Remove the Nidalee and pace Gnar to maintain the Shapeshifter bonus.
Draven is a good extra because you can activate the Imperial synergy and use him as your main carry.
5 Unique & Interesting Comps : No 4. The Pyke Express
In this comp, your main objective is to help Pyke to move around the field at maximum speed and stun everyone around and deal massive damage without being targeted.
In terms of the ITEMS, DOUBLE Spear of Shojin is the most crucial part of this build. For the 3rd slot, you can choose between Gunsoo's Rageblade or Hextech Gunblade to finalize him.
About PLACING him, you want him either at the extreme right or extreme left so that he can jump to the sides of your enemy team and start slashing his way across them. It's always a good idea to take a peek at your opponents to see what you are up against in advance.
Since you are not dependent on a specific synergy buff to make him work, Pyke can be highly flexible with other units. I'd usually go for Shyvana or Gnar, and Nidalee or Lulu can enhance the survivability of Pyke.
Yordle Team Comp Guide
If you complete with Yordle comp, it will dodge 60% of the incoming attack.
Yordles in Teamfight Tactics are all 6, Tristana, Lulu, Poppy, Veigar, Kennen, Gnar.
Most good composition is Tristana, Lulu, Poppy, Veigar, Kennen, Aurelion Sol, Gnar.
You need to look for Chain Vest and Recurve Bow to Create Phantom Dancer to put on Gnar and Poppy. You can also look for Tear of the Goddess to make Frozen Heart which fits well on Poppy that can enemies attacks slower. And you need to stack Aurelion Sol. Spear of Shojin is the best item for him, so look for B.F. Sword and Tear of the Goddess.
By this point, you’re hoping to have upgraded a Tristana and Lulu to at Least 2-tier. You’re building up our other Yordles, and you’re waiting to find an early Gnar. Gnar’s shapeshift ability is pretty strong, so it will make a great tank, which is something this build lacks early on.
At this point we should have our build pretty solidified. We want to get both Gnar and Aurelion Sol to at least 2-star, but getting them any higher than that is going to be very unlikely. As an eighty unit, you can look to add Shyvana who will give us the Dragon synergy and makes for another powerful unit. That also protects us a bit better again magic based builds like full Sorcerers.
Freeze, then Fight Comp
Final Team Comp
Anivia, Ashe, Blitzcrank, Brand, Cho’Gath, Lissandra, Rek’Sai, Volibear.
4 Brawlers – +700 bonus health to Brawlers.
3 Elementalist – At the Start of combat, summon an Elemental with 2500 health and 100 attack damage.
4 Glacial – Glacial units have a 35% chance to stun on hit for two seconds.
1 Robot – Robot start combat with full mana.
Rapid Firecannon, Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Warmog’s Armor.
TFT ECON 101: Chapter 3 Greedy Economy
With Greedy Economy, your goal is reach the 50 gold threshold as quickly as possible in order to create maximum interest. Being greedy can be very reliable because even though you cannot always control whether you win or lose, you can always control how much you lose.
You can employ this strategy almost anytime to reach a certain point.
-If you have a bad hand to start with and cannot rank up any units.
-If you are experienced and know what you're doing and you'd rather have a lot of gold to make decisions in late game with knowledge on your enemy.
-if you are familiar with breakpoints with income and levels and you don't want to miss your income threshold.
-if you know how to dump gold fast and know and know when to do so
First, you will have to reach your interest thresholds ASAP. Do not spend unnecessary gold on any new units outside of very strong core units you absolutely need. Do not level up either before you reach 50 gold and start receiving interest. Do Not Spend Gold on Anything! However, you also want to maintain a team strong enough that you don't lose too much HP and not lose to creeps. You will miss out on valuable items.
Lastly, if you haven't reached interest threshold and if you buy a unit you can create a rank 2 unit with a pre-existing unit, buy it, rank up, then sell it.
1. If you consider the entire duration of the game, you will have more overall gold to work with...even though most of that gold will come near the end of the game.
2. Maintaining a lose-streak is pretty easy to manage.
3. You can reach high tier units faster than your opponents.
4. You'll have the higher carousel priority to pick what you need.
5. You can observe what your opponents are building before you commit to a specific comp.

4 Brawlers - +700 bonus health to Brawlers.
3 Elementalist – At the Start of combat, summon an Elemental with 2500 health and 100 attack damage.
4 Glacial – Glacial units have a 35% chance to stun on hit for two seconds.
1 Robot – Robots start combat with full mana.
Bit about Gnar Comp
Gnar is a very unique champion unlike many other. His ability allows him to displace your opponent squad and also CCing them. On top of that, Gnar can become humongous with massive HP for your opponent to deal with when he transforms. The damage he inflicts and the utility of his transformation is why he's classified as the S-tier champion. Fix him up with a couple of defensive items and he WILL transform without fail and lead your team to clean victory.
If you plan to build around Gnar, you wanna to for Wild/Sorcerer composition and also any comp that utilizes Shapeshifters. I'd go for Wild/Sorcerer since it's one of the strongest comp and then add in Shapeshiters on the side.
The ideal items on Gnar are Dragon's Claw, Phantom Dancer, Titanic Hydra.
If you get a Spatula and Rod, you might consider making Gnar a Sorcerer. Your Gnar will have increased mana generation and he'll transform sooner.
NEWS: Ranked Party Size now Lowered from 5 to 3
After testing out TFT's new ranked mode on the LOL PBE, Riot has lowered the number of players that can queue up together from 5 to 3 at all ranks.
Ran Cao, a data scientist for Riot, confirmed the news a day from the release of V9.14.
Ran Cao says that "due to some concerns", the party size restriction will be locked to 3 players. These concerns were however not specified but it might have to do with the fact that these 5 players can help each other out in games to gain more LP and rank up quickly. She also stated that Riot will be evaluating more restrictions as players rank higher up the ladder.
By lowering the party size to 3, Riot is giving other players who aren't partied up a fight chance to win. This will also lower the chance for people to push and pull games in their favor.
TFT ECON 101: Chapter 2 Aggressive Economy
With Aggressive Economy, your goal is to spend as much gold as possible early on to gain an advantage. This could include rerolling to find key units and upgrade them to rank 3 fast.
(It's a high risk but possibly high reward. Level up the key units)
-If you get an extraordinary roll on an early S tier unit and plan to build a round it.
-If you have great item components and a carry like Vayne close to upgrading.
-If everyone else is playing slow
-Reroll aggressively in the early levels and get the units you wanna rank up. You wan S-tier units you can build a composition around and you already have few units in that comp.
-Once the units are upgraded, level up to put in other units you have ranked up to keep your advantage. For example, if you have two silver units you're going to combine, place them onto the board.
-Sense and detect the moment when your unit lead is now strong enough to carry you for sometime, so that you can stop spending and start saving.
In TFT, there's an aspect to the game design that makes an aggressive start very powerful.
1 gold units can be very useful at higher ranks and you can upgrade them very easily at lower levels.
TFT leans toward an early game meta becuase of its roll mechanics. Items play a huge roll for carries and 1 gold unit with good items can be more effective than 4 gold units with poor items. You will have advantage over opponents playing with greedy economy.
5 Unique & Interesting Comps : No 5. Ninja Deliverator
Kennen with his AoE stun and damaging ability, is generally a great choice that's hard to go wrong with.
However, often the problem seems to be Kennen being stuck in the wrong position for his ability and he's a miss. So you wanna gear Kenne up with a Youmuu's Ghostblade and he will jump to just the right spot. Also, you wanna equip him with at least one Spear of Shojin and the last spot can be filled with a Rabadon's Deathcap, a Morellonomicon, Hextech Gunblade, or Guinsoo's Rageblade.
Now as for your synergy options, You can create ideal synergy with Elementalists. Add Lisandara and Brand for damage and a friendly golem who can absorb some damage for your team. Also consider going Glacial as well and pair with Lissandra for more stuns.
Best Comp in TFT!!
6 assassins and 4 ninjas
Elementalist Team Comp Guide
Elementalist Comp is effective on Knight, which is who strong at Armor.
Elementalists in Teamfight Tactics are all 4, Anivia, Brand, Kennen, Lissandra.
Elementalists are few of them, but that means collaborating with various combination. That means it has many buffs.
Which is Glacial, Ranger. : Vayne, Varus, Lissandra, Ashe, Kindred, Sejuani, Brand, Anivia.
If you put together this whole team, you’ll get 65% Chance to Double Attack Speed, a Summoned a Golem, 30% Chance to Stun, and 40% Chance to Mana Burn.
You should looking for B.F. Sword and Tear of the Goddess to make Spear of Shojin for Ashe and Brand. Alternatively, you can look for Needlessly Large Rod and Recurve Bow for Guinsoo’s Rageblade for Brand.
Once we're getting into the middle of the game, you'll want to start looking hard for Ashe. If we're lucky, we'll find ourselves a Kennen, and if we're even luckier then we'll find an early Brand. If we can get the Lissandra, Kennen, and Brand combo on the board, then we can get our Golem pretty early which should help carry us into the later rounds.
You should be well on your way to some 2-star higher tier units at this point, and hopefully, you’ve been able to 3-star some of the early game ones. Now you’re looking for Anivia, as well as 2-star Sejuani and Brand. It’s usually very unlikely that you’ll be able to 3-star anything above 4-cost unless the game goes on forever. If you have the room on your bench and no one else is using your build then some of them might be worth saving. Once you find that Anivia, get rid of the Kennen. You’ll also likely find the Kindred during this time which will finish up the final buff for your Ranger synergy.

Easy Beginner Compositions #3 NOBLE & WILD
Sometimes you just cannot seem to get a hold of champions you wanted. If everyone else is going for high demand units, you can always build Noble. In the early game, you want to have a strong front line to protect and toughen your squad. Garen can be pretty useful in this situation. Garen's pretty tanky with good damage and if you throw in another early game tank in your team, you should be hold for awhile.
I know this is not the most exciting and sophisticated composition but when everything is upgraded, this comp can be pretty fun. So here's the your whole team comp:
Garen / Fiora / Vayne / Lucian / Leona / Kayle
You won't find Kayle until the late game so in the mean time, experiment with other synergies like Wild. Throw in Warwick and Nidalee and you'll have a pretty solid mid game team. Warwick provides a decent off-tank right by Garen and if you can level up Nidalee to 3 star, she WILL carry. You gotta equip her with Rapid Firecannon and Guinsoo's Rageblade to make her really work.
In the meantime, you don't wanna forget about Garen. He is your primary tank and his best item is Morellonomicon. The more he spins, the more damage he deals.
Once you survive into the late game, your team should be pretty tough to handle with Noble and Wild buffs.
Powerfull Imperial Team comp!!
Darius, Draven, Garen, Katarina, Sejuani, Swain, Poppy.
With this group, you’ll get the 4 Knights, 4Imperials.
Recommended Items: Ionic Spark, Hextech Gunblade, Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Rapid Firecannon, Blood Thirster
Patch 9.14 Rundown and Predictions
SPOILER ALERT: 6 Noble is still absolute TRASH
