A different approach to roaming.
This will end up messy but I'll try... ----------- Remove passive mode. White dot players = neutral players. Red dot players = aggressive players. Coloured dot players = CEO and MC players. Neutral players can: - see other neutral players anywhere on the map. - use weapons. Neutral players cannot: - see players that aren't neutral on the map - attack or kill other neutral players directly. If a neutral player collateral kills another neutral he will turn aggressive player for 5 minutes. Add aggressive mode. Players that just want to PvP can turn on the aggressive mode. Agressive playes can: - see other agressive players anywhere on the map. - attack and kill other agressive players. - get money and RP for killing other agressive players. Agressive players cannot: - see players that are not agressive on the map. - attack or kill players that are not agressive. If an agressive player collateral kills a player that is not agressive it will lose money and RP. Changes to global signal. - global signals now ping a "last known location" every (10 seconds?) - global signals are specific. MCs can only see MC global signals and CEOs can only see CEO global signals. - low profile missions like "pretending to be postal service" or "garbage truck" have longer intervals on global signal pings (20 seconds?) Business players can: - see their associates anywhere on the map. - see any other players on the same business type within a certain radius. - attack and kill other players of the same business type. "Off the radar" and "ghost organization" remove the radar detection radius for the durarion. Business players cannot: - see any players that are not on the same business type on the map. - attack or kill neutral, agressive, or players on the other business type. If a business player collateral kills a neutral they will lose money and RP. If a business player collateral kills an agressive player they will be marked and visible on the map for the killed player until killed or after 5 minutes. If a business player collateral kills another business player but on the the other business type he will be marked, with a bounty and visible on the map for the killed player and his associates until killed or after 5 minutes. -------------- The basic idea is to split the 3 types of gameplay. While neutral you can move around without any problem, customize your cars, test drive, farm rare spawns, do car meetings, player meetings, you name it. If you want to have a mini war with other players, you turn on the agressive mode. (Yes, players choose to go PvP, and not the other way around) And while in businesses, you can only be attacked by rival businesses of the same type. The global signal changes make it less opressive for the target players and opens up a "cat and mouse" kind of gameplay where the hunters get only a small amount of information about the whereabouts of their targets. (No more easy griefing)
