Weapon Wednesday #2 - EVA-8 Auto vs. Peacekeeper

Hey there,

another wednesday, another weapon comparison!
Today we‘re going to have a really interesting comparison!
We’ll compare the Peacekeeper and the EVA-8 Auto!
As of today I won‘t make a tier list for early, mid and late game anymore but instead just go through the pros and cons of the weapons in general.

The Peacekeeper


Well there‘s not much to say about the Peacekeeper, its damage is devastating and its one shot potential is horrific.
It is the most versatile of all shotguns, with a tremendous damage output in close/mid range and given you have a Precision Choke equiped even in longer range engagements.


However this all comes at a cost!
Due to the low fire rate and the long time in between the shots, you‘ll not only have to adapt your entire playstyle but also learn how to maneuver the Peacekeeper properly.
Positioning is key - even more so with the Peacekeeper, but if you think you can easily clutch situations in CQC just because it‘s a shotgun, you‘ll have a hard time.
Learning how to keep peace with the peacekeeper is one of the key elements to mastering that gun and if think you‘re down for that task I have a little tutorial for you, which I‘ll link down below:




The Pros:
- High Damage
- Very Versatile

The Cons:
- Requires an overall understanding of the weapon
- Very low firerate and mag size

The EVA-8 Auto


What makes the EVA stand out is of course the firerate, but that‘s not where it ends.
What makes the EVA a direct competitor to the Peacekeeper is the fact that it performs surprisingly well in distant fights.
While the Peacekeeper still outperforms the EVA in long range damage, things do look diferent in mid to close range!
On top, thanks to a high firerate and high magazine size it proves to be a by far more forgiving and easy to understand weapon than the peacekeeper.

For ultimate chaos you can equip a double-tab trigger to release a terrifying two pellet burst with one pull of the trigger.

The Pros:
- High Rate of Fire
- Easy to learn

The Cons:
- Difficult to control recoil (especially with Double-tab Trigger)
- damage drop after a certain range

In conclusion I‘d say both a absolutely great weapons, however with the purpose of a shotgun being that you outperform enemies in CQC the EVA is definitely a better pick.
If you‘re looking for versatility and don‘t know if the match ends in close quarters or on far plains the Peacekeeper is definitely the better choice!
