Apex Legends has banned over 355k PC accounts for cheating
Respawn Entertainment has vowed to improve the cheat-busting technology in Apex Legends, although this seems to be going pretty well, considering that they have banned over 355,000 accounts since launching five weeks ago. Respawn announced over the weekend that they had passed 355,000 PC bans through the Easy Anti-Cheat software, which is certainly a large number. "The service works, but the fight against cheaters is a perpetual war that we need to continue to adapt to and need to be very vigilant," they say. "We take scams very seriously and attach great importance to the health of Apex Legends for all players."
Given that cheats and anti-cheats are an endless arms race that could lead to information breakthroughs, Respawns are at a loss as to what exactly they intend to do. They find that they intend to expand their own anti-cheat team, consult with other EA experts, and add a reporting feature to the game. Respawn also note that they’re working on fixing crashes, with several fixes coming in the next patch. They’re having AMD visit to help improve stability and performance too. #News
