Apex Legends - Beginner’s Guide to Optics
Apex Legends is full of a variety of optics/ sights that you can add to your weapon. Optics are effective at increasing ADS zoom to see your enemies more clearly. With 10 different sights to choose from - it’s important to know the distinctions between each one, and which weapons can be used with them.
*Tip - In the settings menu, you can choose to use flat sensitivity - ADS and hipfire are the same - or, you can opt to tweak each optic’s sensitivity in your “per optic settings”. From 2-4x all the way through 4-10x, you will notice they become gradually more sensitive to movement the higher the magnification.

Generally the most popular sights in the game tend to be the 1x sights, and 2x Bruiser because of the current gun-meta. It’s very common to find players running R-99, Wingman setups with 1x HCOG or 1x Digital Threat. Because of how frequently you will find these sights in-game, it’s a great idea to practice with them in the firing range to prepare!
If you prefer long-range weapons, you will frequently find 2x Bruiser, 3x Ranger, and 4-8x Variable Sniper in deathboxes, though the 2x and 3x are far more common. The 2x Bruiser sight is incredibly versatile, and is a great optic for anybody to learn how to use. It can literally be used on any weapon! The 3x Ranger is also a great sight to learn for avid G-7 Scout users, and snipers alike!
*Note - no optics can be added to Legendary weapons (gold guns)
*Fun Tip - Try out a 3x Ranger sight on the R-301 or Flatline - you may be surprised about how accurate both guns can be even from such long-range!

Match rules are as followed:
✳️ Teams will be made up of TWO players from your team and ONE player from the other team.
✳️ Points (kills) for the solo player will still be added up as YOUR teams scores. So if your of group of 2 has 2 kills, and the solo on the opposing team has 1, your team has 3 total kills.
✳️ Best of 3 matches
Scoring is as followed
🔆 Your end score will be the total point across all 3 games
🔆 Each player will receive 1 point per kill until 3 kills are reached. Every kill after will be worth 2 points
🔆 Placement will be based off of the DUOS placement. So if the Duo finishes in 10th, but the solo finishes in 3rd, the final results will be 10th place. This reduces the solo camping for placement points.
🔆 You will receive 3 points for placing between 10th -6th , 5 points for placing between 5th - 2nd and 10 points for a 1st place finish!

Apex Legends - Beginner’s Guide to Positioning
Positioning is the difference between getting caught in the open by enemies, and being the one catching the enemies off guard. It is single-handedly the most important tool you can learn to gain an advantage over any opponent. Proper positioning without proper aim is still more powerful than proper aim with poor positioning. In this guide, we’ll be exploring how to corner-peak, secure high-ground, how to play cover, how to play the storm, and counter-positioning! Let’s get started!
Corner-Peaking
Corner-peaking is a technique that allows you to provide fire for your team while hiding behind cover. This is accomplished by standing in front of a structure and moving to the left or right of it. By effectively peaking out for a moment, you can quickly aim and hit the necessary shots on your opponents. This can be performed repetitively during a clip of ammo to help shield you from shots. When performed properly, you will deal much more damage than you receive because of how difficult a target you are to hit.
Securing High-Ground
Securing high-ground is the oldest trick in the book for any battle royale, and it’s still in that trick book for a reason! Securing high-ground allows you to gain a height advantage on your opponent. This is performed by either climbing above an unsuspecting enemy, or securing the highest point in the storm. Though it may seem miniscule, height advantage allows you to see the enemies below you more than they can see you. This can help you deal more damage, and provide more time for enemies to get to you, which can often mean those last second shield batteries, cells, or med kits!
Playing Cover
Playing cover is when you use in-game structures to hide, run from, or gain a positional-advantage on an enemy. This can be done by sliding around a corner to provide cover and safely throwing a thermite to deter incoming enemies, or using any means of movement and positioning to escape or gain advantages. Playing cover will often lull the opponents into a false sense of security by playing on their impatience. By firing a few exchanged shots at an enemy and holding your ground with cover, you immediately gain advantage over your opponent’s position.
Playing Storm
Keeping your back to the big red-orange glowy-thing is what we refer to as playing storm. Positioning is all about gaining information on each of your 4 directions. If you can effectively eliminate 1 of those positions, you have less to worry about behind you, and can focus on what’s in front of you. Playing storm is a great way to secure easy in-game ranking. Though it is a very safe way to play, it is also very effective!
Counter-positioning (by listening for footsteps)
Counter-positioning is ideal for those with good headsets, and who are used to keenly listening for enemy footsteps. It is performed by listening to where the enemy is headed, and heading the opposite direction to defensively position yourself, or closing the gap to aggressively position. Counter-positioning is most effective in buildings that have more than 2 stories, because it can become auditorily confusing for most players. In practicing this, you can make sense of position based on footsteps, and gain an immediate advantage over opponents.
