2) The Materials   The Guiding Lands has 3 types of its own materials. Bones, Ores, and Monster Materials.   First, Bones and Ores.

Check this screenshot from Korean Community. You can see the mines and bones icons on the right-bottom side. It starts from 0, the gauge is getting increased one you gather mines or bones from that area. Once you fulfill the gauge, the Giant Mining Outcrop or Giant Bone Piles are appearing. You can gather only one time from Giant Mining Outcrop or Giant Bone Piles, it will give you Guiding Crystal or Guiding Dragonbone of that area.   If you gather from Giant Mining Outcrop or Giant Bone Piles, the gauge of that area will be halved, other region’s gauge will be slightly increased.   Each region’s Mining Outcrop and Bone Piles has its locations. Here’s the map. (Volcanic & Tundra area is not available on PC yet)

Monsters in The Guiding Lands has their own materials. Each monster has 2 types of materials, normal version and tempered version. If you did not hunt a normal version of the monster but only tempered version, don’t worry. You can exchange tempered materials to the same monster’s normal material via Elder Melder.   Monsters will drop materials via Parts Broken, stun, flinch shot, turf war, etc. They only drop The Guiding Lands materials, not normal materials so if you need just normal materials, The Guiding Lands is not a good choice, but do investigation quests.   Tempered monsters in The Guiding Lands will rarely drop Spiritvein Gem. Threat Level 1 monsters drop Spiritvein Gem Shard, Level 2 drops Spiritvein Gem, Level 3 drops Great Spiritvein Gem. These are one of the biggest reasons we go to The Guiding Lands so do not forget to take dropped materials from monsters.   They also drop Dragonbones and these Dragonbones cannot be obtained from the Bone Pile so hunt as many monsters as possible.   You’ll need many of The Guiding Lands materials to forge some weapons and armors, upgrade charms, Augment Equipment, and Custom Upgrade.

3) Increase the level of areas   To increase the level of each area, you need to hunt monsters in that area. Look at the screenshot again. There is an orange box.   Icons in that box mean where the monsters came from. In that screenshot, Fulgur Anjanath is Coral area monster, Rathian is Wildspire area, Radobban is Rotted area. If you hunt Fulgur Anjanath there, then your Coral Region EXP will be increased.   But the area EXP is not only increased but also decreased as well. This could be quite a complicated system… I’ll explain about this next time!     Vol.1
