Safi'Jiiva weapon awakened guide
Hey, how’s your hunting?
Safi'Jiiva will be updated to PC this Thursday.
It is similar to Kulve Taroth but has quite different root systems. You can get 3 to 4 weapons when you clear Safi'Jiiva quest each. Once you get the weapons you want, you need to upgrade them.
Let's see how to upgrade Safi'Jiiva weapons.
Every time you clear the quest, you'll obtain 4 kinds of Dracolites.
Dracolite Shard, Dracolite, Large Dracolite, Rigid Dracolite.
Each Dracolite will grant 1, 5, 20, 50 Manifestation Points. Once you reach the max point, you can choose one of 3 options and add it to the weapon, or do not choose anything but store potential to the weapon.
Once you store potential to the weapon, it will slightly increase the possibility of something better options appearing rate next time.
There are some rules and tips for the weapons
1) Lv.6 Ability
- Can you see the 5 Star but colorful and has a white coating? That is Lv.6 unique ability. It grants more bonus stats but we can only apply one unique ability to each weapon.
2) Series Skills
- As you see above, Lunastra Essence is appearing on the abilities tap. Like this series skills, you can also apply only one of series skills. It considered one of the series armor parts. For example, to apply Lunastra Essence skill to your character, you can choose that series skill to your weapon and equip only one more Lunastra armor.
3) To make better abilities appear faster
- It depends on your weapon's Awakened Level and what abilities you choose. Higher Awakened Level you have, the higher possibility to get better abilities.
Additionally, in that case above, I choose Sharpness Increase Lv. 3 and 6 (Unique), Thus I have that, rerolled options show include Sharpness Increase Lv. 4. The same type but better options have a higher appearing rate when you have a lower level of the same ability.
There are 'Add' and 'Upgrade Ability'. In the case of Add, it adds one more option to your weapon. In the case of Upgrade Ability, it will overwrite your previously chosen ability.
Most of the melee weapons are recommended to add full Attack Increase. However, Dual Blades and Charge Blade with Element Phial is recommended to add full Elemental Increase (Bow as well).
LBG & HBG has various type depends on the main Ammo.
It's easy to get the weapon from Safi'Jiiva, but it will take some time to add 5 best options you want. At least, one same weapon you equipped when you kill Safi'Jiiva will be dropped so it's much better than Kulve Taroth.
Be patient and let's make our own best weapons!

[Build] Rajang HBG for easy Safi'Jiiva
Hey, how’s your hunting?
Stygian Zinogre was added on PC, Safi’Jiiva on next Thursday.
On PS4, people who wants to hunt Safi’Jiiva fast and easily used Stormslinger, Horizon Zero Dawn collaboration LBG. However, there’s no Stormslinger on PC because Horizon Zero Dawn collaboration was only for PS4.
Thus, we have to find another option for easy Safi’Jiiva hunt. Luckily there’s a way, Rajang HBG.
Artillery: Boost the damage
Guard: If you decided to use this build, you must get Guard Lv.5 and 3 Shield parts for customize bowgun. Or you cannot handle the guard damage.
Guard Up: To guard various attacks
Divine Blessing, Health Boost: For survivability
Partbreaker: More parts breaks are more rewards from Safi’Jiiva. This is not an optional.
Slugger: For more stuns (Optional)
Flinch Free: This should be Lv.3. Safi’Jiiva uses quick breath very often and it bothers reload. Rajang HBG supports auto-reload of Sticky Ammo 3, but if you were hit by this quick breath, you’ll get extremely pissed. However, Flinch Free Lv.3 negates the reaction from it.
Augment Equipment: Health Regen II, Defense Increase I
Customize Bowgun: 3 Shield, 1 Close Range Up, 1 Wyvernheart Mod
In the 1st run, If your party is skilled enough, Slash weapons will go for the tail, Blunt weapons will go for the hind legs or head, Gunners will go for the wings and back. This means no one will hit Safi’s head except you for a long. But Safi’s head must be broken twice for a lot of rewards points.
In my case, I use Glider Mantle+ and set Trueshot Jewel+ 4 & Expert Jewel+ 4. This is for Wyvernheart, the Special Ammo of Rajang HBG.
When Safi’Jiiva gets stunned, reload Wyvernheart immediately and spam it on his head (The head must be wounded). With Wyvernheart Mod, your Wyvernheart will deal huge damage on his head. To boost the damage of Wyvernheart, I picked up Trueshot Jewel+4, Expert Jewel+ 4 to reduce the minus Affinity of Rajang HBG.
Your role during the hunt is parts break, stun, and tank. You will deal a lot of damage on Safi’s head for whole time, thus you’ll get the aggro after Phase 2 and become a tank. If a tank moves often, Safi will move often as well and your party will have a hard time to deal damage.
However, we have Guard Lv.5 and 3 Sheild parts. Just hold your position, guard the attacks, spam Sticky Ammo on the head. Your party will happily sever Safi’s tail.
During the second run, now it’s time to break wings and back. Do not go for the head, (If your party is skilled, the head was already broken during the first run) spam Sticky Ammo on both wings. If you’re the only gunner in the party, the wings will be broken almost the end of Phase 2.
If you break the wings and back, go for the head in Phase 3. When Safi gets stunned during Supercritical Mode, everyone goes for the chest to break it (The most important parts for more rewards).
The biggest weakness of this build is, boring :(
Similar to LBG in Kulve.
Looking for friends
I just download this app bc I'm very bored so if anyone wants to talk and chat I'm down
[Build] Hybrid GS build
Hey, how’s your hunting?
These past few days, I’m using GS as my favorite. But neither True Charged Slash only, nor Crit Draw only.
Let me introduce this fun, but really strong GS build.
<Equipment & Skills>
Weapon: Rathalos Gleamsword
Head: Rimeguard Helm α+
Chest: Damascus Mail β+
Hand: Rimeguard Vambraces β+
Waist: Rimeguard Coil β+
Leg: Rimeguard Greaves β+
Charm: Attack Charm IV
Attack Boost Lv.7
Health Boost Lv.3
Critical Boost Lv.3
Weakness Exploit Lv.3
Critical Eye Lv.2
Critical Draw Lv.2
Divine Blessing Lv.2
Flinch Free Lv.2
Quick Sheath Lv.1
After Safi’Jiiva, we can use any Safi GS for this build, but we can only use Rathalos GS yet before Safi’Jiiva.
Critical Boost, Weakness Exploit, Focus is a typical GS skill. Health Boost is also a typical skill for everyone in Iceborne. But you can see that Critical Eye is only Lv.2.
In this build, we don’t have no make Critical Eye Lv.7 because Rathalos Gleamsword already has 25% of basic Affinity, an additional 10% from Augment Equipment, 5% from Attack Boost Lv.4 or more. And we’ll have Critical Draw Lv.2 automatically from Rimeguard Greaves.
Basic Affinity is 40%, 60% added from Critical Draw Lv.2, or 50% added from Weakness Exploit. Only Critical Eye Lv.2 is needed to add 10% more.
Add Health Regen I, Affinity Increase I, Element up I for Augment Equipment.
Then how to play this? It’s very simple.
Just play it as a Critical Draw GS at other times. The sheathing is no as fast as typical Critical Draw build, but anyway, at least it has Lv.1 of Quick Sheath.
When monsters are groggy, stunned, trapped, etc, prepare to use True Charged Slash. This is the reason why we get the 4 pieces of Rimeguard armor. Rathalos Gleamsword’s basic damage is lower than Acid Shredder II (Acidic Glavenus GS), but its damage is much more increased via Frostcraft. If you use Charged Slash (Full Charge) as a draw attack, skip Strong Charged Slash with Slinger Burst, True Charged Slash (Full Charge), the damage is much higher than typical GS build.
To maximize the damage, you need to sheath the weapon often to recharge the gauge of Frostcraft, but GS sheathes very often so this will not bother you so much.
In the case of Acid Shredder II, it has extremely short purple sharpness. However, Rathalos Gleamsword, it has long white sharpness so you can spam the attacks more freely. But making wounds consumes Frostcraft gauge so fast, so ask your party members to make wounds on monsters. If there are no other heavy weapons or it was a solo play, RIP your Frostcraft gauge.
With Safi GS, This hybrid GS build could be stronger. I’ll come back with that upgraded build soon.
Check out Fr00tyheadshotz on instagram for some really good builds. They’ve helped me out a lot with a lot of fights

2 variant monsters revealed - Raging Brachydios & Furious Rajang
Capcom announced 2 new variant monsters for the third free title update.
They are Raging Brachydios & Furious Rajang.
Many new patterns and Brachydios even has a chorus on his theme.
The update will be in March.
Recruiting for Squad!
Made my own squad, now looking to add people to it! 😆
Only requirement is that you have mic!
MR high enough for Safi is preferably, but not mandatory!
Recommended Rajang Equipment - weapons and armors
Hey, how’s your hunting?
Rajang update was released yesterday and many players are raising their Volcanic Region of The Guiding Lands, hunting Rajang.
Not all Rajang weapons and armors are the best option. So I set my own priority and gonna share it with you. I hope this would help you to choose yours!
1. Light Bowgun - Ten Thousand Volts
It supports Sticky Ammo 2 Auto Reload, but there’s no reason to use Sticky Ammo 2 with Rajang LBG. What we’re gonna use is Sticky Ammo 3.
Rajang LBG has the highest damage of all LBG, thus it has the highest damage of Sticky Ammo as well.
Sticky Ammo 3 has Very High recoil and Very Slow reload time. To support this terrible state, I use 2 Recoil Suppressor and 2 Evading Reload for Bowgun Customize.
2 Recoil Suppressor reduces Sticky Ammo 3 recoil from Very High to High. It’s reloading time is still Very Slow, but we save the time to reload it with Evading Reload.
Evading Reload is quite unstable though, so if you don’t like to keep evading reload, then better to use 4 Recoil Suppressor (or 3 Reload Assist and 1 Long Barrel).
If the damage is more important to you, you can pick up Rajang LBG.
If stuns are more important to you, you can still pick up Diregun “Dementia”, the Savage Deviljho LBG.
2. Heavy Bowgun - Rajang Destroyer
The same reason as LBG, Rajang HBG is also one of the best options for Sticky Ammo.
It supports Sticky Ammo 3 Auto Reload, similar to Shara Ishvalda HBG. It seems like there’s no reason to add Free Elem / Ammo Up, but it’s still a good skill to increase the capacity of Cluster Bomb and Paralysis Ammo.
Rajang Destroyer only has 1 capacity for Cluster Bomb 3, 2 for Paralysis Ammo 1, 1 for Paralysis Ammo 2 so increase those important Ammo’s capacity is worth consideration.
Rajang HBG also has the highest damage of all HBG as well, thus it has the highest damage of Sticky Ammo as well.
3. Great Sword - Great Demon Rod
Of course, this GS has the highest damage of all GS too.
It basically has blue sharpness but with only 1 Handicraft, it will have white sharpness.
All Rajang weapons have minus Affinity, but GS can increase its Affinity to 100% easily.
Critical Draw, Attack Boost Lv.4, Affinity Increase from Augment Equipment will make its Affinity to exact 100%, so we can use this GS for Crit Draw build.
Head and Waist gears have the highest priority to forge. The headdress has Weakness Exploit Lv.2 and 4/1 slots, the waist has Weakness Exploit Lv.1 and 4/3 slots. Only with these 2 armors make a full level of Weakness Exploit so that you can pick up better armors from the other parts.
How to hunt Rajang easily - Crit Draw GS
Hey, how’s your hunting?
Many hunters are suffered by Rajang due to his powerful, short delay attacks.
Here’s my recommended build to hunt Rajang easily.
It’s Crit Draw GS. An old-style GS so that players who played the previous series of Monster Hunter can use this more easily.
4 Rimeguard (Velkhana) armors are required for Frostcraft. My equipment is below.
Weapon: Winged Seraphyd (Velkhana)
Head: Rimeguard Helm α+
Chest: Damascus Mail β+
Hands: Rimeguard Vambraces α+
Waist: Rimeguard Coil α+
Legs: Rimeguard Greaves β+
Charm: Handicraft Charm IV
Critical Draw, Critical Boost, Focus - These 3 skills are the skill that you should get, no choice.
Handicraft is also very important as well. With Handicraft Lv.1, Winged Seraphyd will have purple sharpness. There’s no Master’s Touch so better to get longer purple sharpness.
Health Boost is one of the basic skills in Iceborne, Quick Sheath is also a very nice skill for Crit Draw GS.
Don’t mind about Speed Eating and Geologist. I just put them because there were two empty slot 1 and I’m lazy to change my build for The Guiding Lands.
The skills that I strongly recommend are Flinch Free Lv.3 and Tremor Resistance Lv.1.
Rajang has many attacks that cause ground tremors. All ground tremors from Rajang are minor ground tremors. Tremor Resistance Lv.1 nullifies all of them. It gives you many chances to deal with huge damage so do not grudge slot 2 for Tremor Resistance.
Another important skill is Flinch Free Lv.3. Rajang has a pattern that rapidly rushes into you and punches you. This pattern has really weak damage but causes tripping. It’s very annoying when you are about to re-positioning or drink potions. Flinch Free Lv.3 prevents both knockback and tripping. This is also helpful to hunt Rajang and of course, it prevents that LS or DB disturbs you forever while hunting in pub game.
3) How to play
Simple. Keep attacking with no charge after you draw a weapon, only full charge attack when Rajang is firing breath or using low body press. Both patterns have a huge delay after, so you can use full charge attack easily.
What you need to remind is, do not stand in front of him and do not try to hit his head or arms too often. Of course, you can deal with much more damage if you hit Rajang’s head or arms, but Rajang is so fast and never stays in the same place, has so many patterns that cover around his head and arms.
On the other hand, his backside is very safe. So keep attacking his tail, but go for his arms or head when he’s stunned or firing breath.
Here’s the video I hunt Rajang. I made so many mistakes but still took less than 10 min. I hope this would help you!
I'm big broke and play on ps4 but is Iceborne worth getting because I really want to, even if it'll be awhile?
