The Season of the Drifter update came to Destiny 2 today, bringing with it five new Exotics. There are new exotic gauntlets for Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks and two new Exotic weapons. The first of the two Exotic weapons is Thorn, which will be available via an Exotic quest starting on March 12th. The other Exotic weapon is Arbalest, a Kinetic linear fusion rifle; we don’t yet know how to get your hands on Arbalest.

Ok so in Gambit why run and hide from an invader when you have zero, ZERO MOTES!! And let your team members that have motes take the hit? Like if your right next to a team member that has 10+ motes and you have 0 and an invader shows up and you literally turn and run, and let that team mate take the hit. That's pretty low.
Now I understand you don't want to get taken out but hey. If you have no motes, then what's the cost of you taking one for the team. Or trying your best and taking that S.O.B out.?
POPULAR Out of Loyalty to Bungie
Out of Loyalty to Bungie I’ve purchased Destiny 2, since I’ve gotten all Halo games released by Bungie, and Destiny 1, but I am Extremely disappointed with this game, I spent money on this game and as a 15 year old teen, money is tough, and it wants me to buy the expansion pack to get past level 20, I’m so just sad to see them take this turn, and with high hopes I turn to Destiny 3, which I have heard whispers of coming out.

POPULAR The Dawning 2018
"Come in, come in! Even you Guardians can catch a chill. Things have certainly changed since I last called this place home. But the Dawning is always here for us: just as we should always be here for each other."
When the Dawning last came to the City, a new Golden Age had just begun. Humanity had faced their greatest threat and emerged victorious, if not unscathed. Our Light had returned, brighter than ever. We were dazzled by the infinite possibilities in the world, and every day brought something new.
The return of something familiar can be like a welcome visit from an old friend. This year's Dawning is no exception. Our dear Eva Levante—who was instrumental in bringing the traditions of the Dawning to the Tower—returns with it.
Eva's fond memories of the heroes who share her home—and the friends she's made in her many years there—spurred her to write down some of her favorite recipes, and recall stories of Dawnings past. This year, she'll share them with some of her favorite Guardians, and help bring the spirit of togetherness back to the Tower.
• Baking the Goods •
Eva has returned to the Tower and brought her baking supplies with her. All players of Destiny 2 are invited to join the celebration. She will provide the oven and some ingredients to get you started, but you will need to go out into world to gather more ingredients by defeating enemies and completing various activities in Destiny 2.
Once you have your ingredients, you can start combining them to create some tasty treats like Gjallardoodles or Chocolate Ship Cookies. We’ll give you a few recipes to get you started, but it’s up to you to try different combinations and discover which ones turn into the most delicious cookies. Be careful: mismatched ingredients result in burnt edges.
You might be asking: “What do I do with all these cookies?” Friends you’ve made throughout the solar system are eager to receive your baked good as gifts. They will show their thanks by rewarding you in their own ways. There will also be bounties to complete along with your cookbook. Here’s a preview of the rewards you’ll have a chance to earn:
- Enhancement Cores
- Legendary Gear
- Avalanche Heavy Machinegun, featuring random rolls
That’s not all you will earn while you celebrate the Dawning. As you gather ingredients and bake items, you will also progress towards unlocking this festive new Sparrow.
Your new ride will come equipped with some very special perks.
• Glimmer Boost
While boosting, the Sparrow spawns a glimmer present every few seconds, until boost runs out. Glimmer presents burst open after a moment so that players can acquire the glimmer.
Only active during the dawning.
• Glimmer Trick
When the player lands a trick with the Sparrow, 3 to 5 glimmer presents are spawned.
Only active during the Dawning.
• Instant Summon
Reduces Sparrow summon time significantly.
Dedicated bakers will also have triumphs to pursue. Those who unlock all the Triumphs during the Dawning will be flying in style.
• Double Drops •
A new event means new wares from Eververse. During the Dawning, we’re continuing the tradition of double Engram drops. All players who are at max level (depending on what content they own) will receive both a Bright Engram and a Dawning Engram on every level-up. There will also be a “knock-out” list on the Dawning Engram, preventing you from receiving duplicate items until you’ve earned all of the new items.
Do you have a stockpile of Bright Dust piling up? Tess will also offer ingredient packs in exchange for Bright Dust. If you don’t have a lot of Bright Dust and are worried about other players getting to bake all their goods without having to play, don’t worry—that won’t be the case. Eva’s Holiday Oven requires Essence of Dawning, which can only be acquired by playing activities in game. So even if you want to stock up on some ingredients with your extra Bright Dust, you still need to go out in the world to earn the fuel to fire up your oven.
For more information concerning the Dawning, be sure to check our Dawning Guide on help.bungie.net.
Thank you for another wonderful year. We hope you'll join us in the Tower for this special celebration.
The Dawning begins on Tuesday, December 11.
The Dawning ends on Tuesday, January 1.
POPULAR Let’s Talk: Destiny 3
This is way before its due time, as Destiny 3 is likely at least two years away from us. Leakers have claimed that the next Destiny is already in development, to the surprise of no one, and I’m a bit on the curious side for what is most hoped for or expected by the Moot Guardian community. Potential spoilers ahead I suppose, but we have a long way to go before it would be of much consequence. Another tidbit from the most prominent leaker, Reddit’s AnonTheNine, was that D3 will be much more hardcore-focused, with significant RPG elements.
*insert massive hype here*
Of course that could be exaggeration and simply reverting back to a D1 style for the classes, but this could be massive for D3 if it’s real. Granted, this is very early in the development cycle for D3 and could easily change. Add in comments from Bungie devs that seem to be angling for a more MMO approach to game design for our future, and this could mean some very good things.
Up next? A zone focused on PvPvE entirely, and not how Gambit handles things. Supposedly a patrol zone with territory capture while fighting against both competing Guardians and our general enemy varieties.
Then we have a controversial element: Guardians of Darkness. We don’t know where this is going, how it’ll be implemented, or if it will even happen at all, but one of the leaks specifically mentions our Guardians gaining the ability to wield the Darkness itself. Is it permanent? A drastic shift in the story, similar to Alliance VS Horde factions in World of Warcraft?
With all of this as a starting point, what are your thoughts, hopes, and dreams for Destiny 3? Do you want all or even any of these rumors to be true? Let me hear what you want, whether realistic or delusional!
My general take? I wanted Destiny to be more like an MMO from the beginning, so any elements pushing towards that boundary will make me very happy. Heavy RPG elements will give everyone a chance to customize their Guardians in fantastic new ways, so that’s pretty much the dream for taking Destiny to the next level for me.
Darkness Guardians are something I mostly take issue with in terms of lore, but I definitely welcome new supers and subclasses. Unavoidable PvPvE zones would be very potentially frustrating if not implemented correctly, but it could also be a ton of fun.
The more that gameplay can expand, regardless of the leaks and rumors, the better. I want D3 to be a merging of new concepts and current elements that can grow, being continually built upon by Bungie. The dream is a game that’s built to change over time, like the differences between the Cosmodrome and the Plaguelands. At very least, Forsaken makes me feel like they finally have a firm grasp on the lore now.
Did I miss something? Probably.
Story leaks are left out intentionally, just because so much can still be up in the air.
PS - AnonTheNine was regarded as being very accurate in the leaked information, but has since deleted his account while also denouncing a few copycats claiming to be him. Be careful in hunting for new info.
The Road Ahead
The future is bright indeed...
“Welcome to the Season of the Forge. Today, there are new ranks to earn, new pinnacle weapons to acquire in Vanguard missions, Gambit, and the Crucible. We’ve also added more Triumphs and lore for you to collect. That’s just the beginning. On December 4, there’s even more on the way for every Destiny 2 player, whether you own the Annual Pass or you’ve just joined us as a brand new Guardian.
Because we’re taking a new seasonal approach to our post-launch content this year, our team has prepped a new Bungie ViDoc to paint a detailed picture of the road ahead.
ViDoc Link: https://youtu.be/4uK8ywYCdhI
Included in our in-depth look into what awaits you in the seasons to come is a gameplay calendar of events, activities, rewards, and updates that await. You don’t need to freeze frame to see it in full detail. We’ve included it below in all its high-resolution glory.
Throughout each of our three seasons and the Forsaken Annual Pass that rolls out alongside them, we intend to keep your Director filled with things to do each week. Some of those experiences will come and go (like the Dawning and Crimson Days), but others (like the Black Armory forges and raids) remain active after their initial introduction, building on the foundation of activities you can experience each week.
In the coming weeks, Annual Pass holders are in for a series of firsts. Beginning December 4, you’ll be invited to visit the Black Armory. You’ll be sent on a series of quests to rediscover, reactivate, and reclaim four lost forges—and the weapons they offer as reward. A new raid will open on December 7, and the bravest fireteams among us will make their initial runs in hopes of powerful rewards and community glory.
For all players, the Dawning will light up on December 11, and of course we’ll continue to host a conversation right here on bungie.net, providing specific dates and times for all of our major beats throughout the year.
If you’re looking to save the dates for our initial wave, below you’ll find a calendar charting the course for the first few weeks and casting an eye toward February.
Both of these calendar graphics show our current plans, but are subject to change as development continues. As always, we’ll be right here on bungie.net, following along on socials, and in the game ourselves to make sure we’re providing you with the most up-to-date information about all the goings on in Destiny 2.
See you out in the wild!”
