Excellent game with a few minor flaws, still 5 stars
uee code minecrfat earth
loved the raids and how when you finish the game it displays the team you used which is pretty nice, it's still just pokemon though and doesn't have many new features , the new 3D models looks wavy though
I love it the story the new Pokemon and most importantly RAIDS!!!!
Cool story but lack luster post game, atleast there's raids
Great game, disappointed that all the pokemon that we know and love aren't in the game but it's still a great play through from start to finish.
After finishing the story line i can say that most of it needs some polishing. Would be better if some characters had some voices because its awkward just to hear a few people clapping. Other than online and a few other things, I really enjoyed catching pokemons and bonding with them in camps. I look forward to events where they'll involve the rest of the national pokedex
This game is beautiful. I found it incredibly fun. I enjoy raiding and parts of the story. On the downside, it can look bad sometimes. Models are incomplete. The map and story is very linear. Online is AWFUL to deal with. You have to learn a handful of gimmicks to make it useable. Personally, the dex cut hurt a bit, and I feel like it is falling away from the "Gotta catch 'em all" motif, but it didn't affect my rating. Over all, I enjoyed the game as the incomplete, messy, sometimes beautiful mess that it is.
Game is fun to compete and is actually hard if you don’t pay attention
@IllusionConfess It's a Pokemon game. It's the easiest gateway into JRPGs. Like, super easy mode. That being said, my playthroughs have always been fun and challenging because they are what I make them. I rotate my teams, change battles from "switch" to "set" mode, and always play the underdog.
pretty fun game been playing though the Pokemon games recently so it pretty nice to have one on the console again
if you say this game is bad and you still play it, youre a hippocrit, sucks that they removed almost every psuedo legendary tho, those pokemon made up half of the competitive meta
@Joey Cannoli They mentioned early in development that they wanted a new competetive meta to develop. Something fresh.
I LOVE this game. The only thing I don’t like is the missing national dex. I get it to a point, but come on guys, you used a lot of the same sprites and had way more Pokémon crammed onto the 3DS
Great game, wish it had all the Pokémon and GTS. love the raids.
Great game. Very fun but there are some mechanics like max raid battles that are easily exploited and should be fixed or removed from the game. Otherwise, one of my favorite Polemon games!
A very fun Pokémon game that’s polished in the less important areas.
I really enjoyed the game. It's a Pokemon game so you know what to expect. No grand narrative that will traverse time. It's probably the most to it's core on competitive team building. I have fun raiding with friends and trying to complete the dex. I know it's very controversial at this point because of the cut, but I personally like it to keep us focused. I know Gamefreak is going to release the full Dex at one point in time, just not this time. It doesn't detract from the game at all, it's a fun romp through and through.
@Larrix I bet you they pull their new favorite thing and do a SwSh 2. Spoilers aside, they've set up a new professor, new gym leaders, a new champion, and a youth force that could open Galar's borders to the rest of the pokemon.
@StarGrit I completely agree and see that being likely. like this was just the ground work being laid
@Larrix Sucks that the groundwork cost $60 a pop, though. I feel like a lot of people may feel betrayed having to buy it again. Hopefully, GF pulls through with a phenomenally stellar game in a year or so.
@StarGrit same but people should be used to this by now. They always release the complete editions next but yeh I can see that $60 price being a large factor in not picking this up
@Larrix That's why I went physical. I'll sell it to a cousin or something and if GF does it right, the games will still interact somehow
@StarGrit it's gotta, I think that's what the Pokemon Home is going to be an version of Pokebank
Probably favorite Pokémon game I’ve played
love it, especially the raids and online competition
Fun game, way better than like the last 5
i hate it
It’s fun, it’s pokemon. But thats also the problem, its still just pokemon, not a whole lot of whole new innovation here to justify the 1.5x cost. The wild area specifically could have been really cool but is just ugly to look at between the gross textures, constantly dropping frame rate, and terrible draw distance to the world around you. Overall kind of just seems like a 3DS port, but the new pokemon designs are 👌🏼👌🏼.
@Portalmastr_nick 1.5x cost? Pokemon games have been ~$45 which was high for a handheld. Any new Switch title has been $60. I agree that the wild area and online were terribly executed, though. I hope you enjoyed the game, though. I had fun playing it despite its many flaws.
Never played, don’t think I ever will but who knows 🤷♂️
It reminds me of being a kid while still being a great game an adult can enjoy, 10/10.
It’s a standard Pokémon Game, nothing really changed so it’s still enjoyable for causal Pokémon fans like myself, but I do wish they made the game much better as it’s for a more powerful console then the 3Ds but that’s my opinion. Overall decent game
@BlueFlare i liked the story but it was laking in the graphics and fighting animation. But I did love it, They got better at pokemon designs.
This game was a solid four. It was actually really fun and I love the designs for all the new Pokémon. Only thing that I didn’t like was how hand-holdy it was and how easy they made it for you. As well as the infinite number of times you have to battle Hop. I don’t know if it’s just because I’m a lifelong Pokémon fan, but I really did enjoy this game.
Not gunna lie, but I kinda like Hop and the plot was kinda predictable since almost the same thing happened in Sun and Moon; the Pokémon being spawned in and chasing your avatar around was really fun! Especially because they were high leveled. Also I like the feature about seeing other people who are online too and the Raid ideas. So yeah 5/5 game for me (wish there was more Legendaries tho)
Even with the bs the game been getting before release, this game was a fun game to say the least. Different features to play around with and a really interesting story. it's a very easy game so that should shine some like for new people coming into the series for the first time and some hardcore players get a lot of help with creating the best competitive team. it sucks that not every pokemon is not in here but that doesn't mean that this game is just garbage. just give it a try!
was a bit hesitant at first, but the game is great overall. would have liked a little more depth to the story but i like how the npc's are much more expressive when compared to previous games.
Thoughts was going to be bad, really has been a lot of fun
thow alot of the pokemon where removed the game still is extremely fun do to the new amount of content for player's to enjoy l
A really quality game but I found it to easy but that's my opinion it appeals to every type of gamer and it gives me nostalgia from the old pokemon games highly recommend
This game was really fun. I like the variety of new pokemon, which were really fun to discover. I also like that HM's don't exist in this game. They took up space on some pokemons move sets.
Short story mode but wild area seems well designed and developed. 100 hrs in less than 2 weeks.
I might know what your talking about it’s been a while since I’ve played
I love the game. I'm disappointed in the dex cut, buuut it makes sense because how many people actually fill it? 🤔 Also miss the GTS, it made dex filling so much easier.
@Tirno Okay what dex ???
Best Pokémon game I’ve played in awhile. Definitely goes back to the older format instead of Sun and Moon. Love the gym challenges that combined battling and puzzles. All the new Pokémon were fun to discover.
I can honestly say this has been the most fun I have had in a pokemon game.
if you can get the people for max raid battles then this game is extremely fun and will last you a long time. without it the game is still fun and the story will last you a good while but the max raid battles are the real core of the longevity of this game for me.
Lots of great features, including ones that make training so much easier. Great gameplay, beautiful graphics, unique characters and a great story. Only thing is, max raids can be difficult to get enough people together.
definitely style over substance, but man does this game have style
👌🏻 need more Pokémon tho
Amazing Game! Recommend it to anyone with a Switch!
This game has become one of my personal favorites and it’s playability is amazing. You can spend hours in a main story that’s gives you a ton of freedom along with a very interesting and new take on a post-game quest to catch your legendary. Even after you complete the main objectives, you can still explore the wild area and complete raids, trades, and link battles with friends. The new Pokémon are very well designed the and the limited Pokedex makes you use new and exciting Pokémon!
amazing game and tons of fun. I love the new pokémon designs and gyms. i think Hop is an excellent rival and I think Leon and Sonia are really cool too. I also love the Wild Area and Max raid battles. Best pokémon game in the series so far
this game is a lot of fun to play with friends and will be pretty good for competitive, the game is really easy but that's my only big issue with the game.
Had lots of fun with it and thinks its gonna be a cool competitive game. lackluster postgame.
@Thór Word on the post game
no originality, i mean what were they doing?! Game Freak: we need a new legendary, whaddya got? random worker: SWORD DOGGO!!!! Game freak: bettttttt
@ACSN_PUN1SH3R I see no problem with this
@ACSN_PUN1SH3R Was this the only thing that you disliked about the game? Sword doggo is worth -80%?
I really liked how they decided to focus more on what the games are about... pokemon. I love all the new designs and moves, and overall, love the game!
Definitely needs some fixing, but I thought it was an innovative and fun entry in the series
This game is just for competitive players
amazing game! but it’s just not perfect.
Anybody know how to post in here because idk
@_siixco_ Touch the pencil button!
King Of Kings
literly no original content
@SpilledLava49 I wouldn’t say it has no original content, but lacking in new content, that I agree.
@SpilledLava49 Raiding with friends? New gym style format? Open free-roam area? Dynamaxing? Camping? Some of their ideas may not be good, but they ARE new. Sorry you didn't seem to enjoy the game. That's too bad.
I just wish it had more content, heart gold will always be my favorite!
@DavyManco Lol I got soul silver
@DavyManco Hoenn for life. I own R/S/E and AS
Can this hit a lot of likes please I need it
really fun game
One of the better game in the series but wish the story was longer and I miss the elite 4
@Benjamin savage It’s elite 5
Played this game some I really enjoyed it!
the new pokemon are beautiful
Great game! Only a few things here and there that I would add.
8 Generations past, we went from 8-bit sprites to 3D animations. No doubt this is a very good Pokemon game with nice starters, unique new Pokemon, the list goes on. Dyna/Gigantamax is ok and as much as I miss the mean spirit smell ya later rival, this one pushes you to be along with other challengers. What prevents this game from being one of the best is not having the National Dex. 400 Pokemon is a lot to catch, but many OG fans know the goal is to catch em all, all 890 to be exact. Whatever excuse Game Freak has for no National Dex is one of the worst decisions ever made...
