Fortnite has to be the best eSport of the year because of two words: World Cup. It was the first international game competition to have a prize pool so big. Two million dollars for the 1st place winners, and most of the people competing are teens, some of them just getting into high school. People give Fortnite a lot of crap, but World Cup really made an impact on the future of eSports and the possibilities that can be achieved. ✨
Best Esport! 341Sony has always been a champ in my eyes. I'm going to have to say that Playstation gets Platform of the Year because compared to the Xbox and the Switch, the PS4 just seems like the most versatile system. It's the best family console, the best streaming interface, it's so easy to understand the UI of the system, but complex enough to be a bit more special than the others. Might be a bit bias, but Playstation is the best platform of the year, in my opinion.
Best Platform! 509Dr Disrespect gets Streamer of the Year in my book. He just so genuine. He's so down to earth and funny in all of his streams. And he nows how to flow with the mood, he'll be serious and preachy at one point, then seemlessly transitions into an upbeat, in your face, comedic jackass in the next. He's definitely the Golden Boy of streaming. ✨
Streamer of the Year! 332I'd have to say that SSBU is GOTY because it's been a franchise that was built off childhood memories and its been going strong for decades, always bringing people together in one room to enjoy a game with all of their favorite characters and places to really pull at the heart strings and give us that nostalgia kick, plus its one of the few games that still exists today that embodies the good ol "same screen multi-player" vibes that shooters and other games have abandoned by this time. SSBU deserves GOTY. ✨
